Literally ran from terminal A to B with my on board luggage over my shoulder. I had rechecked my main bag for the domestic flight but, nevertheless, it was left in JHB and had to be forwarded on a later plane. The folks meeting me in Cape Town had to wait an extra hour at the airport to collect it. Very unsatisfactory. As the national airline, SAA should pressure O R Tambo into improving their terrible immigration services."

Cons: "the flight was late - which meant we had to literally run through the airport to connect with our next SAA flight. the disembarkation was also chaotic - the crew could have allowed all passengers connecting with the next SAA flight to disembark first - but instead made an announcement (after everyone was already standing) advising that "passengers connecting on SA 375 you will need to really rush through customs as you only have a few minutes to connect". Not very helpful at all! Also - the food was terrible. SAA constantly serves up the worst possible airline food (and I travel frequently so am accustomed to airline food). Finally, the entertainment system is of a very poor quality and they constantly have to re-start the system."

The wait between the meal upon leaving Joburg and the breakfast upon approaching JFK is TOO LONG, especially for some elderly ( if you review passenger list, you will be surprised how many were on my flight). Does not have to be more than some healthy snacks, but would be joyfully received. I know there is something available in the rear galley, but more fruits, cut up and offered in packs. SOUTH AFRICA is the country of fruits, after all. 2. Someone has done a rather poor job of selecting Indian music. Overemphasis of South Indian ( Tamil). Even the Bollywood selection (too small) is mostly out of mainstream, neither popular with young nor the elderly. If you write me, I would happily explain. Whoever is in charge does not appear very aware of your Indian passengers needs/wants. Thank you for the opportunity to help improve your service. Best to SAA."
Cons: "This flight never happened and South African Airlines knew it was cancelled, yet we did not receive a notification. Instead, I lost a day of travel in Cape Town. I had to be re-routed through Johannesburg and then to Cape Town. Both flights were late and my luggage came in on the wrong plane. An absolutely nightmare of an experience."

Considering I cancelled the flight 2 months ago -- I would have to say the communication was poor -- since I continue to received updates. I say poor since Kayak seems not to want to respond to me to reschedule a flight -- they hold my voucher -- so I can not do it on my own --
The flight was ok, but the number of people not wearing masks was alarming. Crew members would walk by unmasked people and say nothing. Protocol is supposed to be strict right now and it was very disappointing to experience a flight this way. It calls into question everything else that the crew manages…I felt unsafe.

Long layover at Gatwick (around 3 hours), but I had much work to do anyway, so time went faster than I realised. Cons: "There was an abusive passenger sitting behind me that kicked my chair the entire flight. They were angry that they didn't have more space and that I wanted to have my seat back. I offered to put it up during meal times to make sure they had enough space but that wasn't good enough. The crew knew what was happening and tried to get the other passenger to stop but the passenger persisted. The crew refused to upgrade me even though I had paid for an aisle seat and there were no other aisle seats available for me to move to. I find this service unacceptable. I probably won't be willing to fly BA again as they obviously care more about money than ensuring their customers are comfortable."

The seats are very close together, making it very difficult to get in and out, particularly if the person in front of you puts the seat back. On long flights we like to get up and move around a few times, and not only is it hard to get out of our seats to do this, there is little room to walk or stop to stretch. Heathrow London is tolerable if one is going to London, but as a place to change planes, it's exhausting. The various walks feel like mazes, and going from one terminal to another, even by tram, is time-consuming and tiring. We fly to Europe often, but we will try to avoid both British Airways (Airbuses, at least) and Heathrow."

Anyone who didn't checkin online was left at the airport- even those who booked, paid in full, and confirmed in person at the Kenya Airways office the day before. And we were all at the airport hours early. The ground staff in Arusha had no idea how to check people into the flight. They lied to us about what was happening and wouldn't update us about how they overbooked. They tried to email the main office and refused to just call them on the phone. I only got on the flight because I ignored their suggestion to 'just go sit down and let them work it out'. For people who did what they were told- they all missed the flight. I did online checkin on my phone and then all of a sudden there was a seat for me on the plane and I got on. Everyone else was left at the airport with no idea what was happening. I normally love Kenya Airways, but this level of overbooking and incompetent ground staff made me change my mind."

Of course they knew that a flight was coming in, why there was only one personnel is still a mystery to me. The person who served us, Victor K., was probably the least helpful customer service personnel I've come across. He was very slow, considering that he knows there's a lot of us trying to get to our next flight. We ended up missing our connecting flight. And for some reason, the plane left earlier than the time it was supposed to leave. Another mystery to me. Shouldn't their system have told them that there were a few passengers on the previous flight that was supposed to board this connecting flight?! They did give us a free hotel for the night, or so they call a hotel. The food served was just horrendous. They just served whatever is enough to be considered "food". I will never fly with Kenya airways ever again. They are so unreliable, irresponsible, and have very little regard to customer service."

Than other Aisle numbers should be called to be seated until the front up to Business Class is filled. It gets congested in the Aisle and frustration as passengers bump into seats and each other."
