Cons: "The staff at Vic Falls airport tried to charge me several hundred dollars for extra bag fees. The fee kept changing depending on who I was speaking with and when I agreed to pay with my AMEX they said they did not take AMEX so they eventually waived the fee. This was only done after showing the manager a printed copy of my booking which listed that passengers are allowed 2 checked bags each. This was all done in the office of the South African Airways who I assume was managing the Airlink flight."

As a result we had to pay for another set of tickets and pay for s hotel room as no other fflights that day. We arrived to airport in plenty of time however there was a backup at immigration. We waited 10-15 minutes than an employee had everyone in line move to a different line. By the time he slowly walked us over our plane had already boarded. The bus was still there but we were not allowed on. Also, the representative said the boarding was delayed 3 minutes. Actually they boarded early. All along way we were assured there was no problem making flight."

Cons: "Similar to some other reviewers we had to completely exit the terminal at JNB and then check in for our international flight sequence on Qatar, this was easy but caused a little anxiety, especially after learning that the total checked baggage for one person on the air link is 30kgs (66lbs) which is less than standard international weights. We had to pay extra for the “overweight” bags but the cost was reasonable. I would use the airline again."

Because both flights were operated by airlines different from South African Airways we were not able to accumulate our One World miles."

Cons: "Spraying a very potent chemical in an already crowded small plane that send people home sick is not the best way to treat passengers. We do recognize there is probably a reason for doing it. Has the airline consider the impact on those with respiratory issue? Some passenger could not stop coughing until their final destination. Hope they find a better way."

Beverage selection was poor and again same as in economy. The lunch was the only difference: a plate of chicken instead of a sandwich. SO WHAT DID I GET FOR PAYING BUSINESS? a curtain, a plate of chicken and exclusive access to the toilet at the head of the plane. Shame on SAA for selling this as a SAA business flight. Or Kayak for wrong advertisement. In the future I will definitely not pay for business as it is absolutely not worth it and will try to fly this portion with Air Botswana"

I've flown Delta, Lufthansa, KLM and United to South Africa - big mistake. SAA is what I wish all other airlines are. They are first rate."

Late food serving, but quick to clean up in a rash. Loud people on phones and nobody stopped them. Horrible experience."

Cons: "I got to the airport to find that my 19:15 flight had been delayed to 22:15. I hadn't received any notification from BA and still do not know the reason for the delay. The only other option available was for BA to put us on the 20:20 Kulula flight to Lanseria and then shuttle us from Lanseria to OR Tambo. It really is not pleasant to get back home so late on a week night and not even be given any warning or any reason for the huge delay."

Cons: "I paid for TWO EXTRA suitcases for my flight. I carefully packed and weighted them in advance. The "lady" on the counter made me remove one jacket and one pair of boots from each suitcase because it was GRAMS over the limit. Grams those that my hand scale did not accuse at all. The following customer right after me had KILOS OVER the limit (almost SEVEN) and were not flying business or first class, regular economic class just like me. And they did not had to remove a thing from their extra heavy suitcases. What is the company criteria? Anyway, I bought me another return flight on OTHER airline and simply lost my return flight on BA. I am never flying this horrible company again."

Cons: "definitely a significant downgrade from my first flight from dallas to london. this flight from london to bangalore was outdated, with old entertainment systems, no usb connection, no snacks available. also we were shuttled from the boarding area on a crowded bus to the plan and had to climb several stairs with our heavy handbaggage up to enter the plane. crew was ok, nothing special. i've traveled british airways quite a few times from the USA via London to India and always notice the downgrade on the flight to India."

Cons: "No one informed me that I need a visa to UK even if am going just a transit. And when I called them they said we mentioned that you should call the embassy. And am sure no one calls the embassy after they booked a flight. I missed the flight they didn’t let me travel. And didn’t refunded me only the taxes. At least refund me the comming back ticket !"

When it came to boarding my husband who needs special assistance was first taken to board first but then had to be brought back as refuelling was not done and was then last on board. When we arrived at Heathrow his special assistance was not there and we had to wait for about 10/15 minutes. It is stressful traveling with someone who needs help and even worse when there are delays. We were advised that we could leave the aircraft which we did but we were left waiting in an area without any toilets which is a problem for him"

Cons: "I didn't like that my 22 year old granddaughter was separated from my other granddaughtner and me while we were going or water and food. When we returned, we were told that this was an extra security check required by the US gov. and that she would be returned before boarding. That was my grandstanding at least . What happened was that she was not returned and no further communicated with my other granddaughter and me by the time the plane was being hoarded. It doesn't require a vivid imagination to think of fake BAW employees and human trafficking tp understand why I was terrified by the disappearance without return of my green eyed ,lovely young granddaughter."

BWI-MIA flight was delayed due to air traffic clearance from the thunderstorm and almost missed my connection MIA-MAD by few minutes. Upon arrival in MAD, my baggage didn't make the connection and had to wait for 3 days before my baggage arrived"

I have an American Gold card and a United gold card. All United partners allow use of their lounge. BA does not. Will fly United partners in the future. Coach seats are unreasonably small for international flights. Small than competitors"

Cons: "My special kosher meal cause me to immediately have stomach cramps and estreme nausea - within 20 min of eating it. I had horrible pains and could not use the bathroom due to landing. Upon landing I ran to the use the restroom and the staff promised to keep an eye on my bags. When I exited the bathroom after being violently ill, no one was on the plane except the cleaning staff, and no one was keeping an eye on my bags. I found my purse unzipped. Luckily nothing seems to be stolen. I proceeded to vomit and have food poisoning symptoms the next few hours while waiting for my connecting flight to Rome. I vomited through the entire flight to Rome - no one seemed particularly concerned. No one asked if I needed a hospital. British Air would not take a report about the food poisoning onsite. Nothing was done to help me change my flights to avoid flying so sick or make any helpful suggestions whatsoever."

Entertainment choices dated and uninteresting. Luggage lost, with one agent available to slowly help more than 30 people. Luggage missing for over 24 hours. No response from airline. Enough."
