Pros: "The crew was unparalleled. Really. Attentive. Friendly."
Cons: "Nothing could have been better beyond the signs at the gate."
Pros: "Staff are very polite and helpful (ground staff and in the air)."
Cons: "The food was hit and miss. Some of it was good and some of it used ketchup as a sauce. The economy seats have been stripped down to budget airline level padding and the rows seem have been been jammed in a little closer."
Pros: "I am very pleased to travel with Qatar airways. Qatar airways and Singapore Airlines are the best companies."
Cons: "I was a little bit annoyed with the staff at the Doha airport at the boarding gate because she did not let me get in to boardin in priority even though with my privilege club card, I do have to insist after the call for zone 1 to proceed for boarding."
Cons: "I was unable to get my food preference on line days before my trip. It kept telling me to try again. Fortunately the staff was very helpful when I got on board and were able to accommodate me. I hope not to have that same problem on my return flights"
Pros: "Food , Crew , Plane, Cleanliness and Entertainment were good."
Cons: "Didn't like the fact that I was never notified through email that the flight was from a different , newer airport in Islamabad. Originally my booking was from Benazir International Airport Islamabad but on the day of flight when I went to that airport , it was totally closed for operations and flights. And I asked people in the street e.g taxi drivers etc which airport my flight could be from. They told me that a new airport in Islamabad had become operational and my flight could be from the newer airport. I went to the new airport but I was late for boarding because my time was wasted in going first to the Benazir International Airport and then rerouting to the new airport. Fortunately the fight from Islamabad to Qatar was delayed and I was able to make it to the boarding and flew from Islamabad to Doha."
Pros: "The bag with socks and toothbrush with paste was a nice touch. The flights operated on time! The seats were fairly comfortable for coach class."
Pros: "Cabin crews were politie"
Cons: "Waiting area outside gate was crowded and slow service, plane take off was delayed Plane wasnt clean enough food wasnt good taste horrible"
Pros: "QR528 landed in Chennai at 01.50 hrs IST on time was out of plane in 10 mins and then the endless wait for my baggage after immigration check, being a Indian citizen no issues but was able to collect my baggage at 3.02 hrs Doha - Chn flying time 3.50hrs, baggage collection 50 mins, its bizzare & absurd"
Pros: "Qatar airlines had the nicest planes I have ever been on, not to mention the most beautiful and clean airport."
Cons: "While stay in Doha the did not give any food vochcher for 21 hours what they think no body eat in 21 hours I go to counter they refused next time I will not travel"
Cons: "Everything!! My seat was not extra wide, it was broke and would not recline...14hr flight!! Entertainment system didn’t work right."
Pros: "The crew was nice"
Cons: "Better food and cooked throughly and better seat and more blankets."
Pros: "Seats were really comfortable, able to lean back further than most, with large screens and good entertainment options. Also liked that there were open areas on the plane that you could go stand up and stretch out for a while at."
Cons: "About halfway through the flight the bathrooms definitely needed cleaned. By the end of the flight they were disgusting, with toilets and sinks clogged and no tissue. I'm really surprised Emirates allowed this to happen, because everything else was great."
Pros: "Pilot does not waste time chatting. Still too much chatter (interrupting movies) but less than on other airlines."
Cons: "Entertainment system is Windows based and designed by a moron, especially CC behavior. Shows ads (LOTS) before each movie. Pops up window chrome every time you dismiss PA announcements. Very few movies/TVs (even those from the US) have CC."
Pros: "Amazing crew. Seat upgraded to business class. Superb service and comfort!"
Pros: "Inflight entertainment was good but that doesn’t make up for lack of equal treatment of all passengers"
Cons: "They are racist!!!!! Segregation and all!!!!! For my more than 12 hours layover I had to pay for my own hotel!!! Yet other travelers were given free hotel vouchers. As a matter of fact I was kept waiting for nearly half an hour in the middle of the night even though I had been waiting for service ahead of them."
Pros: "I must admit....this is one of the best experiences I have had flying and I fly this route a lot. I was traveling with an Elder who required a wheelchair and every step of the way it was smooth and the crew was attentive."
Cons: "The entertainment was giving some issues and the staff tried to resolve it. Eventually it came right by it self..."
Cons: "Cabin crew were reluctant offering passengers liquids on board we had to go and find them to ask for either water or juice as it was a long Flight which took 15 Hours on Air"
Cons: "This seemed far different from emirate flights that I'm used to. Over the years their service has decreased but the 1 meal and sub-par snack I got for an 8.5hr flight was poor, likened to a budget airline. This is the second flight recently I've been on that the drinks come so long after the meal you don't even get to enjoy your cola with the meal. The first food cart should have colas if there won't be another cart to come along until 30+ minutes later. I also expected Emirates to provide an eye patch, an 8 hr+ flight in the night time hours in worthy of an eyepatch. Budget airlines do not provide this, but I expected Emirates to. Lastly, I don't think it's necessary to hand out a menu indicating there is something to look forward to when the food is of quite poor standards for Emirates, standard for all other airlines. Maybe the Durban to Dubai route stocks he flights with less experienced crew, this is the impression I got; a much less refined group of people on the plane."
Pros: "Food and service as well as pilot trying to speak other languages. Great to hear him trying. he put a smile on the teams face. Sounded liked a good leader and that is encouraging, especially as the airline is going through a tough time."
Cons: "Seat comfort and tech access to USB ports etc."
Pros: "Business Class on the Code Share, South African Air was superb"
Cons: "Plane is old and systems worn out. Seats uncomfortable, little leg room, no premium economy and entertainment system didn't work. I have flown nearly 2 million miles and this has to be one of the worst planes I have been on."
Cons: "We placed a bid to upgrade and it was accepted at the last minute - we were traveling from the USA and something went wrong with our credit card so SA was unable to charge the card. When we arrived at airport a couple hours later the bid was no longer valid and the ticketing people informed us it would be $220 more per person than the bid that was accepted. Felt like it was a scam. We declined to purchase the upgrade at the increased price"
Cons: "Delightful stewardess. Tiny plane, but they still offered sandwiches and drinks!"
Cons: "Very small, old seats. TVs are old and small and very slow to operate."
Cons: "Plane was ancient, the entertainment system failed about 4 times! Food was not pleasant!"
Pros: "The sound on my seat and the one next to me not working. On my previous flight my TV was broken This is a long day time flight equipment needs to work"
Cons: "I had to go sit in another seat when I need an aisle as I have a very active bladder. I went back to my seat with no TV"
Pros: "Efficiency of the staff"
Cons: "Unfortunately the plane for our flight was faulty so we had to wait an hour for the next flight. SAA did a great job bringing in a bigger plane to accommodate everyone from our flight plus the hour later flight."
Pros: "Newer plan and the entertainment was pretty good."
Cons: "Flight arrived an hour later but the biggest issue was the limitation on food options. It seems selections of popular choices ran out fairly quickly."
Pros: "We got scammed out of the tickets from Justfly.com and Ethiopian Airlines turned us away without looking at our tickets. I am upset. Now I have to get more Covid Testing done and that will cost approx. $700 and new plane tickets. JustFly.com's customer service is misleading and deceiving. And they blocked my number."
Cons: "Background check your booking agencies and their agents."
Pros: "Nice aircraft and comfortable seating in economy with a good selection of music and movies on the seat back entertainment. Business class was mostly empty and looked very nice and roomy. They should upgrade their frequent flyers the way other airlines do to fill those empty seats and generate the good PR that results. The food was good in my opinion, and the Ethiopian coffee is great. Affordably priced tickets was the selling point for choosing them. They are a young airline and while they go through the motions of being a modern service-oriented airline, but alas for the most part they aren't there yet."
Cons: "We've flown a few Ethiopian Air flights now and while the flight attendants are nice, they aren't always on top of things and paying attention to the needs of the passengers. Not as helpful or attentive as we're used to. Boarding is chaotic and the overnight transfer at Addis Ababa is a total mess. If you get to leave through the airport in the early morning things are relatively painless, but what a nightmare of pushing and shoving chaos when it's busy. The hotels they put you up in are mediocre at best. Last week we enjoyed a long wait for the bus ride to the hotel, cold food when we arrived, and a nice hard bed to "sleep" in. We probably won't fly Ethiopian Air if we have to overnight in Addis Ababa again. I'm willing to pay up to fly another airline and skip the overnight as it's just not worth the hassle."
Pros: "nothing really"
Cons: "entertainment system only played audio out of one ear, small selection of movies, flight departed late and gate changed"
Cons: "The most unprofessional ground staff I have met coupled with the most disorganised airport"
Pros: "The ravioli was great, some of the other food was not great. Otherwise, the flight was easy."
Cons: "More entertainment options, the movies and TV shows offered are not varied or very good."
Pros: "The flight was bigger. So didn't feel so cramped up"
Cons: "The flight attendant were not helpful after ringing the bell multiply times I had to get up myself to get a glass of water. Entertainment not updated Food no change in menu"
Pros: "I was a bit hesitant to fly Ethiopian Air for such a long flight (Dublin to LAX) however it turned out to be the best leg of multi-segment trip (all other flights were Aer Lingus or Delta and Ethiopian Air was far superior to both of those carriers). Flight attendants were friendly, the physical space was comfortable and spacious, the food was plentiful and delicious. Movies offered were relatively new and the IFE worked well. This flight is a continuation from Addis Ababa to LAX so when we boraded in Dublin most people were already onboard. It was a bit difficult to find space in the overhead bins but with a little rearranging of smaller packages by other passengers, we were able to fit our carry-ons in the overhead bin near our seats."
Pros: "Seat layout-767 has only two seats across on the side sections, much better than three, which most planes have. Crew was courteous, captain explained reasons for delay. Plane was not crowded."
Cons: "Flight delayed two hours by weather. Ground operations seemed slow. All planes were delayed by weather, but ours took longer to get ready once weather cleared. Passengers were bussed to the plane for both boarding and disembarking while other planes used jet bridges."
Pros: "Overall it was good flying experience. They upgraded me to an exit row for free when I checked in and asked, which was nice. We had a blanket, pillow, and toothbrush kit on our seats. They fed us and had in flight entertainment. This was a 10 hour flight, so its so important to get these types of amenities. I flew a different airline to my destination, and they didn't feed us at all! It was terrible! Ethiopian was much better!"
Cons: "The food wasn't very good (but most airline food isn't), the flight attendants didn't seem to be working much of the flight, just hanging out with each other (I was seated near them), and I really wish there was more room to get up, move around, and stand. On a 10 hour flight you can't sit the whole time. Wish the seats were a little wider, especially for such long flights."
Pros: "NOTHING"
Cons: "The experience from the airport to the plane to Lome was beyond troubling. If ever you are flying internationally from NYC, never fly from Newark New Jersey. Nevertheless, upon boarding the Ethiopian Airline flight to Lome that was supposed to depart at 9:15 pm, the courtesy of the flight attendants was a bit mundane. My mother and I sat on the plane for about an hour after the time of the depart before inquiring why we have no moved and the doors were closed. The flight attendant responded with, "We shall be moving shortly." The air conditioner was barely on. My mother is battling stage 3 Cancer and is an older woman so, I feared for the safety of her health in such a condition. About 30 minutes passed, and we inquired again. This time with a different flight attendant and she said she just did not know what was going on. Other people on the plane began to panic in a sense as well because like my mother and I, they too had a connecting flight to catch. The pilot did not inform the passengers of what was occurring. So, at this point, all passengers on flight ET509 had been sitting on the plane for an hour and a half. By the time we were sitting on the plane for 2 HOURS with the doors closed the pilot finally informed us that they were waiting for some paperwork. He did not apologize or give more information as to why we were sitting on the plane so long, with practically no AC, and weren't informed about when we would be pulling off. About 10 minutes later, the plane began backing up while people were still standing because they were restless with the wait especially when we had a 10-hour flight ahead of us. The pilot then got on the loudspeaker stating that we will be pulling in the air shortly and for the flight attendants to be seated. The pilot did not apologize for the inconvenience or state how long the flight would be or what time we would land in Lome, Togo. Once we were in the air, there were many safety hazards administered by both the crew and pilot. The seat belt safety information was not given, the exit areas in case of emergency were not discussed, what to do in case of an emergency, where certain equipment would be in case of illness or an emergency, and we were still not informed about the cause of the 2 hours and 15-minute delay. My mother and I consistently checked the flight tracker and it did not show the duration of our flight, our location while flying, no flight information was displayed and as hard working paying passengers we should have had all of the information and not have to continuously ask to get a slight answer. Also, I am a vegan and they did not have food for me. But there was a flight attendant who gave me extra fruit which I greatly appreciated. The flight coming back to Newark was decent, going was the major issue. I pray we are accommodated for these great inconveniences. Because to have spent almost $3,000 and receive this type of treatment is both saddening and disturbing to me."
Pros: "Tight and packed. With the pandemic still going. Children wear masks better and that is not properly enforced."
Pros: "The crew was amazing, and the flight was really short and comfortable."
Cons: "Update the movies and music on the passengers's TV"
Pros: "The seat was comfortable ONLY because I am Platinum member ( and I was able to choose emergency exit seat ) otherwise it wouldn’t have been so comfortable"
Cons: "Food"
Cons: "The issue was not the flight. It was the cancellation policy. I had a best friend suddenly die and I could not apply a credit to future travel on my 4000$ business class seat. It makes me not want to buy through kayak again."
Pros: "Staff was friendly and professional."
Cons: "The quality of the food. You pay a lot for a ticket, for that pricem, I just don't expect a croissant (no butter or jam included) and a dry cake. Flight would normally leave at 7.30 AM. A normal time for an airline to serve some kind of decent breakfast for the price you pay. Not at KQ. They are not making friends this way. Am not even talking about emails going unanswered for days with very specific questions: how to book extra luggage allowance. Anyway…"
Pros: "The crew amazing"
Cons: "I was traveling with a child and an infant. Would have been given a priority. We were in the queue waiting."
Pros: "Everything was Amazing. This is one of the best Airline out there and they need more recognition."
Cons: "Nothing."
Pros: "By far the best food I have ever had in a flight. And I am still trying to figure out how we landed without and no one noticed. Every one on the flight were amazed that we didn’t feel a thing upon landing. The crew were so friendly and accommodating, it was unreal."
Cons: "Perhaps advertise more to Europeans as this airline is up there with the best of them."
Pros: "Crew was helpful."
Cons: "We were delaying on the outgoing flight and coming back as well."
Cons: "Late departure led to missed connections, but Kenya Airways did not provide much assistance with this. No-one on hand to upon disembarkation to help affected passengers. I just managed to get my onward flight, but my baggage did not make it, so I am awaiting that."
