Pros: We were upgraded to a suite without asking; staff was eager to please but due to limited English skills problems arose throughout; good breakfast buffet; clean; excellent location centrally located within walking distance to bell tower, walls, Muslim quarter
Cons: Constructive criticism : staff was efficient but due to limited English skills found it difficult to communicate. I speak English & Cantonese, the staff speaks Mandarin and very little English. If hotel wants more Western English speaking clients, hire a concierge and 1 clerk who is fluent in English.
Pros: Clean comfortable rooms in excellent location
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: Staff name 王欢 at front desk who is friendly, willing to help with, manager on duty also knows well for surrounding sightseeing information which save time for us to get sufficient local information.
Pros: Big and clean room, very close to site seen and food street, breakfast is great, lots of variety to choose from, taste is also good, less salt less sugar, receptionist Ivy at front desk is very helpful.
Cons: Shower head water too weak
Pros: The staff at the reception desk went above and beyond helping us with our needs. Being from the States, we found it a bit difficult with getting transportation. The staff resolved these issues for us. This hotel is in a great location. It is very clean and comfortable. Book here if you are staying in Xi'an. Additional comment: If you are going to Xi'an to see the Terra Cotta Soldiers, plan to stay in Xi'an a day or two more. This is a great city with lots going on.
Pros: Language is an issue
Pros: Room was nice. Location was good- or can be bad because too close to Muslim street, a tourism place. You can't get real good food there. Traffic can be very bad all day long. beddings look clean.
Cons: Breakfast is not included. We paid 68/ person. Carpet was dirty. Stains all over.
With a stay at Grand Soluxe International Hotel Xi'an, you'll be centrally located in Xi'an, within a 15-minute drive of Xi'an City Walls and Xingqing Lake. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Easy and friendly.
Pros: location was central Room spacious Chinese restaraunt very good
Cons: coffee bar closed one day
Pros: Nothing... except pleasant staff mostly non English speaking.
Cons: A budget 3 star hotel on grandeur scale with rooms needing a serious makeover. No option to have any other food besides Chinese dishes for lunch dinner or room service. Cafeteria self serve style substandard buffet breakfast. Hotel access by private car or taxi for pick or drop only will cost you CNY 8 unless you are willing to hackle with the security guard... booked for 4 nights, stayed only one night.
Pros: Very helpful staff.
Pros: The rooms were very spacious, the toiletries were ok, you could control the room temperature, the room book gave plenty of details, the staff helped us to arrange a driver to the terracotta warriors and get direct transportation to the train station, the breakfast was good -options for vegetarians, did not hear anything from other rooms.
Cons: There were no teaspoons for the tea and coffee at breakfast, the corridors were very dark.
Pros: Location: a major bus stop right in front of the hotel, shops and restaurants next door. Interior is amazing. Breakfast: plenty of choices but the hot food was cold. On the last day we left 6am to catch an early flight, we asked if we can take away some breakfast (breakfast starts 7am), the kitchen staff packed up some muffins and slices for us, not the best, but better than being worried of not knowing if the restaurants in airport open early for breakfast.
Cons: Someone (a hotel guest) smoked in the corridor in front of our kids' room which made their room smell of cigarette. Our room didn't smell cigarette.
Pros: Staff were excellent, location was excellent and hotel was clean and warm. We enjoyed our stay !

Pros: Daily breakfast buffet was fantastic with lots of tasty choices. The central location was perfect for what we wanted to do in the city. The dinner buffet was also very good!
Pros: We booked the hotel online and weren't sure what to expect on our first trip to Xi'an. The hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff were amazing, the room was amazing, we couldn't have hoped for anything more.
Cons: Our room was overly warm, though we didn't bother to ask if that could be fixed.
Cons: Great stay fantastic service well] located great food all around a great experience.
Pros: Hotel was very clean, looked brand new. Staff were helpful and attentive. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable, this would be an excellent long stay hotel.
Cons: Upon check in the hotel tired to change our reservations to single bed rooms, when we had requested king size beds when the rooms were booked nearly 3 months before. Not the hotels fault, but the city was very dirty and the smog was some of the worst I have seen in China.
Pros: There were variety of foods in the breakfast including Western, Asian and Chinese. Taste was quite delicious and foods look freshly cooked. Especially various of fruits were very nice.
Pros: Clean room, responsive staff and comfortable environment.
Cons: The room can be made brighter.
Cons: Great food, excellent rooms but a bit hard beds. Nice and helpful staff
Pros: Great breakfast, nice room and bathroom.
Cons: The only thing we did not like was the mandatory daily deposit at checkin. For our convenience they said, I disagreed. They lowered the deposit but would not remove it.
Sofitel Xian on Renmin Square is located right in the heart of the city wall, 45 minutes to Xian Xianyang International Airport and 10 minutes to Xian Railway Station. 178 full range of spacious and well-appointed rooms, suites and apartments equipped wit h ultra-modern conveniences, the exclusive Sofitel MyBed, a rainforest shower, WiFi and broadband Internet access all well placed amidst plush interiors.
Pros: The hotel is strategically located within the city walls (close to main attractions and shops). We got upgraded from a room to a suite, which we really appreciated. The staff were helpful when it came to booking taxis and communicating with the driver. The food provided for room service is delicious (had the aloo gobi, fries, carrot soup and spring rolls).
Cons: The breakfast spread is exactly the same everyday, would've been better to have slightly different variety. I found the sliding door for the bedroom and bathroom in my suite to be noisy (often gets stuck, which results in me having to push really hard). This made it really difficult to have my baby sleep in peace when I'm going in and out of the room. The bathroom sliding door blocked the drawers in the cupboard, making it impossible to access. Personally, I find the mattress too soft. I prefer a firmer mattress.
Cons: very average restaurent service in the hôtel restaurent in the evening.
Pros: The restaurant/buffet/hot pot was good and the restaurant manager was friendly. Concierge was great and competent. Room was big and comfortable. (Though very old and not at all like Sofitel in other countries - however, for China outside major cities it is good) if I had to return to Xian I would stay again.
Cons: Xian is one of the most congested and polluted cities I have been to in China. The City Wall, Muslim Street etc are interesting but overshadowed by yellow skies and a coal burning furnace in the middle of the city! I guess if you want to see the TW you have to go but no need to linger in Xian.
Pros: The hotel exceeded my expectations! The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was very spacious. Staff was also very helpful when asked about certain tourist spots.
Pros: Clean, spacious, great value, amazing staff. Joanna was very polite, helpful, efficient.

Pros: The Conceirge staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure we could travel locally with wonderful tips on using and experiencing local public transport which was very good.
Pros: Excellent breakfast, excellent friendly and helpful staffs, very clean and comfortable rooms and beds. Briefly I am too satisfied it will be my sole stop for my future travels to Xi'an.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect
Pros: Excellent Breakfast and convenient location
Cons: As many muslims are also visiting, they find choice of food fairly restricted.
Pros: Sheraton standard, at least much better than Sheraton Nanjing where I stayed around 3 weeks ago.

Pros: The helpful staff and my studio room has ample lightings.
Cons: They gave me the wrong room and it was at the far end. The wrong room that was given initially was gloomy.
Pros: Location and service were excellent
Pros: Smashing location with a view of the Grey Goose Pagoda; really good, friendly, professional staff, especially in the executive lounge
Cons: Windows in the room did not shut properly, lighting erratic
Pros: Location is superb. Food quality is good for breakfast and it was comfortable staying at hotel room.
Cons: I saw cleaning lady was mopping floor in the lobby during 7 ~ 8 pm; 2 days on a row. It was surprise to see that during that hour especially this is Westin hotel.
Pros: Great hotel in the heart of Qujiang district, 5 min walk to famous Big Goose Pagoda and the world’s largest music fountain show. very stylish facilities with a touch of great Chinese imperial feel, rooms are comfy and windows sounds-proof so one can get a good sleep. Would really recommend.
A stay at Grand Park Xian places you in the heart of Xi'an, a 5-minute drive from Drum Tower and 7 minutes from Xi'an Bell Tower. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and express check-in. Planning an event in Xi'an? This hotel has facilities measuring 4736 square feet (440 square meters), including conference space. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast and location
Pros: Front desk staff handling check-in was polite and efficient. However, concierge could pay more attention. There was nobody at the front door when I first arrived. I had to hold the door open and wheel the luggage to check-in. This is not in line with an international 5-star hotel service standards. Breakfast had a decent spread of western, Chinese and Japanese food. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. There was no stale cigarette smell in the room and hotel lobby which is sometimes common even in 5-star hotels in China. Location is great as the subway entrance is just right in front of the hotel. There are many other shopping malls just across the road. My special commendation goes to Mr Liu of Customer Service department. He was very patient and sincerely helped to arrange for the delivery to Shaanxi of my personal toiletries which I forgot and left behind. He followed up throughout from end to end to ensure that the stuff was delivered to me as soon as possible.
Pros: The location was very good, the rooms were very very good and the breakfast could not be better.
Cons: The fact that I could not stay longer. Next time I would arrange to stay more days.
Pros: The staff is very helpful.
Cons: The breakfast is quit normal.
Pros: Location- walking distance to city wall View- beautiful view of city wall at night from room Beds- huge king bed and adjoining room available with trundle for 3 kids Staff- very welcoming
Cons: Bathrooms a little dated but clean -didn’t bother us.
Pros: This hotel has the absolut best location in town - just in front of the big square and the south entrance of the city wall. At first I wanted to stay within the city walls, but this was MUCH BETTER. Our room has views of the wall and it was just perfect. Also, the room had the biggest bed I have seen in my life, very comfy.
Cons: Be aware that this hotel is getting a bit outdated in terms of the interiour. Staff in reception is not very good at english which made it difficult to ask for help and get recommendations for the city.
Pros: The hotel is very well located next to the city wall and a nice area... the room was very comfortable, clean, the service was fantastic and the breakfast was great!
Pros: Friendly staff, cleanness of the room, great location, good value overall
Cons: No usb or power outlet on any side of bed, window leaking sound and wind, poor amenities
Pros: Very nice breakfast, very convenient location right next to the city wall. Starbucks and subway station right across the road
Pros: Staff were fabulous

Cons: It's perfect
Pros: I have a suite room. Room is very well maintained.
Pros: Room was nice but the heat and stuffiness spoilt my entire stay :(
Cons: The room temperature could not be changed!! It was steaming in the room!
Pros: The swimming pool was great and the food was good.
Cons: The staff except for one excellent person were not very helpful or knowledgeable
Pros: Fabulous hotel for the price charged.
In the heart of Xi'an, Bell Tower Hotel Xian is within a 5-minute drive of Xi'an Bell Tower and Drum Tower. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and express check-out. Planning an event in Xi'an? This hotel has facilities measuring 8181 square feet (760 square meters), including conference space. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: superb location and good view. Staffs are nice.
Pros: The location was just opposite the bell tower and from the reception area was expecting a nice room. Unfortunately we didn't get a room with a decent view, but it was clean. The staff were helpful and when we called with a couple of minor issues, there were no problems.
Cons: Smoking was allowed in most areas of the hotel which meant stinking hallways. They had the most disgusting breakfast room with filthy chairs and sticky tables, the only thing that saved it was the omelette made by the chef which was nice.
Pros: Location is very good.
Cons: The hotel is quite old and the toilet accessories are very dated as well. The hotel is very rigid regarding arrival timing and payments.
Pros: Central location and ease of access. The food in the chinese restaraunt was wonderful and could buy cappuccino from the cake shop in the hotel.
Pros: Fabulous location. At the doorstep of the main city attractions. All within easy walking distance.
Cons: Hard pillows!
Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: Bathroom. Small, needs updating and new caulk and grout.
Pros: Excellent location to get tour to Terra Cotta Warriors. Also very close to Moslem quarter which is worth seeing, particularly at night. Staff speaks English. There is a travel agency on site to organize any tours you want.
Pros: The only (!) good thing to tell about the hotel is its location.
Cons: It's a shame that a hotel at this perfect location doesn't take care about their rooms. Whilst the entrance to the hotel looks still shiny the rooms are dark and completely broken. Breakfast I took only once - it is just miserable in a canteen style hall. I definitely recommend not to book this hotel, there are others not far away.
Pros: the place and rooms are run down, feels like a 2 star at best. location great the hotel needs serious facelift
Cons: beds, room, lights all were shabby some broken and nothing in goos condition
Pros: The location. It's perfect! A walking distance to a few famous tourists attractions.
Pros: The location!
Cons: There is no refrigerator in the room.

Pros: Fabulous hotel excellent breakfast buffet and dinner buffet Lovely room Extremely good value for money Highly recommended
Pros: Well located within old town walls, close to Bell Tower.
Cons: Room was on the same floor as the Massage Spa
Pros: Room was remodeled and clean. Bed and linens were clean and comfortable. I ordered room service a couple times and it was fast and good. They prefer you pay cash for it though. Location cannot be beat. Walkable distance to subway to Bell & Drum Towers, South Gate, and Muslim Quarter street market.
Cons: I made the mistake of not specifying a Non Smoking room and my whole floor smelled so smokey all the time. I had to keep the fan on in the small toilet room in my hotel room because the cigarette smoke from other room(s) was filtering into mine via the fan. This hotel is nothing fancy but it was safe, clean, and had a great location. The bell attendants were great at getting me a taxi when needed. As a solo female traveler it was good for my trip.
Pros: Met our quiet room request thank you!
Cons: For the price we paid it should have come with breakfast to improve the value. Our rooms weren't next to each other as requested in the booking surprised about as December was meant to be a quiet season?
Cons: Room is very small. Staffs are not interested to help us find a bigger room for change. Not even had eye contact when we enquiried We moved out on the second day.
Pros: Lovely room, clean, well maintained. Easy walk to metro. Impressive frontage.
Cons: Bar was pricey (by Chinese standards), didn't check out meal costs.
Pros: The location was pretty good. Walking distance to the Bell Tower and Muslim Quarter. . The breakfast buffet was good, It was also reasonable, but we went in the low tourist season. The staff was helpful. The rooms were average, but comfortable. I would stay here again.
Cons: breakfast was so so.
Cons: Strange bathroom arrangement with toliet and shower.
Pros: Nice hotel in a good location.
Cons: Staff absolutely bad; we risked losing the train to Chengdu because they refused to call a taxi even if I asked for the service early in the morning. Absolutely rude at the desk they weren't able to manage a simple transfer from the hotel. Even if the hotel is located in the city center many employees don't speak English!
Pros: Excellently located hotel with great facilities and comfortable rooms.
With a stay at Jianguo Hotel Xi An, you'll be centrally located in Xi'an, within a 10-minute drive of Xi'an City Walls and Xingqing Lake. Featured amenities include a business center, limo/town car service, and express check-in. Planning an event in Xi'an? This hotel has 26651 square feet (2476 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and a meeting room. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location was okay, that’s about it.
Cons: Old and very tired building. Rooms were tiny, dark, and dingy with no views. Service was disappointing. Put us on a smoking floor even though we requested otherwise when booking, people smoking in their rooms and in the hallway. air conditioning didn’t work, only the fan, pool was tiny and had about 40 peoples in it which made it very full and unappealing. We asked for a second key card but they said they couldn’t provide as they were running low on key cards, really?! Concierge was very young, when we asked him to call us a taxi, he said he’d do it from his phone which meant he’d be charged via his phone, implying we’d have to pay him. We asked why he couldn’t call a taxi from the hotel phone, he couldn’t explain and called the manager (btw, we speak Mandarin, albeit a bit broken, but no issues in Shanghai or Beijing). The manager then called us the taxi. Granted it was golden week here, and the staff were perhaps overwhelmed, but disappointing.
Pros: Room was huge, clean and comfortable. Great value for money.
Cons: We booked the hotel specifically because it had a swimming pool. However, the swimming pool was closed due to maintenance.
Cons: Room Price
Pros: Nice location, nice room, friendly staff
Cons: Everything was fine
Pros: The staff at check-in was most helpful, in particular Willin. He carefully listened and took the effort to address my concerns. While the hotel is located some distance away from the key tourist attractions, there is a subway station right at the front of the hotel, which makes all the key attractions easily accessible.
Cons: Please be aware that there are two groups of rooms. Some rooms are refurbished and very nice while some others are not and may feel a little dated.
Gran Meliá Xian, a spectacular Spanish luxury hotel with comprehensive facilities and services. Exceptionally located in Qu jiang New District, besides Tang Paradise and opposite Nanhu Lake. 10mins walking distance from Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a UNESCO world heritage site. The hotel blends Chinese’s cultural and historical heritage with a decor rich in contrasts. It combines traditional luxury with the surprising avant-garde flair of Gran Meliá Hotels and Resorts. Learn more about Xian one of the oldest cities which was the capital of China for more than 2,000 years.
Pros: Very convenient location, the reading room in the lobby was very impressive. Lots of choice for breakfast, the staffs there are very friendly and always be there to serve you. Also, they offered us a room upgrade because they didn't have the twin beds room when we checked in.
Pros: Our stay at the Gran Melia was wonderful! We received an upgrade due to booking through booking.com which allowed us a range of extras such as late check out, complimentary drinks and snacks and included breakfast in the room rate. The staff on Red Level, especially Tanya and Alsa, were fantastically helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The room was very comfortable and the food was great.
Pros: The customer service on the red floor was excellent. Tanya, Maggie, Sandra, Ailsa, Moses and Daisy were all very friendly and helpful. Tanya was especially helpful. The hotel itself is very attractive, the rooms large and comfortable. The Spanish restaurant in the lower level was also excellent. The hotel is a pleasant walk to several parks as well as some of the local attractions.
Cons: I can't think of anything I didn't like.
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. They’re the major reason we liked about our stay. The lounge service was a nice surprise too. You could have a mini breakfast in the morning and some snack if you come back early. They even had some nice souvenirs for us to take home! Mr Dong from the Red Level was nice enough to offer advice and help with arranging the luggage service as well as booking the transportation for our trip to the airport. The concierge service was great too. In short, the people had made this place great. Thank you!
Cons: The smell of smoking lingered in the public bathroom on main floor outside of the restaurant. Some of the bath towels used in the guest room have frayed and may need to be replaced. The doors to the unoccupied meeting rooms could be closed if the lights are off so it’s not weird to walk pass dark rooms before you reach your guest room.
Pros: We stayed at Gran Melia Xian for a few days, and it made our holidays much better. Being at the hotel has been a wonderful experience, from facilities to the staff, who offered a luxury service at anytime. I would like to thank specially the Red Level team: Maggie, Tanya, Moses, Ailsa and Alvaro, who made our stay perfect. We will come back!
Pros: Moises, the Red Level receptionist has been very kind and helpful with all our questions and needs ... Thank you very much
Pros: For someone who is used to B&Bs or "modest" hotel chains this was a taste of the high life. There was a bath and the room had both coffee sachets and a Nespresso, all of which I've found are in short supply in China. Excellent mattress and pillows. Requires a taxi to the centre of Xi'an but considering the size of the hotel and the peaceful environment this was a plus.
Cons: All good.
With a stay at Xi'an Eastern House Boutique Hotel, you'll be centrally located in Xi'an, within a 15-minute drive of Xi'an Bell Tower and Xi'an City Walls. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: The studio room is actually smaller than in the pics. The shown pictures should be suites, not studios.
Pros: Very close to the most popular places e.g Huimin street, city wall. Soft drinks and snacks provided for free
Cons: Cleanliness of the rooms, we had to change to a new room which was than cleaner
Pros: We had a fantastic stay at Eastern House Boutique Hotel. Most of the staff, except 1 or 2, were very nice and helped us with any issues/ questions we had during our stay. Their exceptional service really impressed us. Highly recommend this hotel!
Cons: The manager of the tea time restaurant, miss. Dear, rebukes the clients like they were pupils in a classroom! If you have something to tell a client, this has to be told in a discreet way; not loudly so whole people around you can hear! She was so rude and unpolite. Under the bed there is dirt (empty bottles and slippers used) better to clean...
Pros: Very good location. Great variety and good quality of food for breakfast and afternoon tea. Clean and very nice design. Great staff.
Cons: Wifi didn't work in our room.
Cons: Nice place, walking distance to bell tower.
Pros: There was a cooler filled with water bottles near the elevator. The water bottles were free. Fresh fruit, apple and banana, were left in the room daily at no charge. Food in the restaurant was quite good and inexpensive. Breakfast buffet included both Chinese and Western items, all good. Tell the leading lady in the restaurant in the evenings, hello from Carl. Stayed 4 nights and hated to leave. Great place to stay in Xi’an. Off of the main road but still close to the Bell Tower and Drum Tower. Free clothes washer and dryer on the 8th floor.
Cons: Having to leave. I cannot think of one critical thing to say about the hotel, restaurant, or staff. I wish that the phone maps were more accurate to lead one to the hotel, but that does not go against the hotel.
Pros: Great hotel- modern, good location, excellent breakfast.
Located in Xi'an, Golden Flower Hotel is a 4-minute drive from Xingqing Lake and 8 minutes from Xi'an Qujiang Haiyang World. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Very close to the subway (a plus). Most staff spoke English and they were very helpful and professional.
Within the ancient walls of Xian, Grand Mercure Xian on Renmin Square is surrounded by serene courtyards and enchanting gardens which encapsulate the historic riches of the region.Fifty years of Renmin Square history is reflected on the magnificent décor of the hotel's 194 guestrooms and suites. Combining chic Chinese design with modern touches, the rooms are fully equipped for comfort and convenience: room safe, satellite television and a variety of deluxe amenities.
Pros: Nice place
Cons: The room we chose was a bit small
Pros: He hotel was in a location with 2 others and the breakfast the Sofitel, included with my stay, was nice. The staff was super friendly and helped us line up our trip to the Terra-cotta Warriors, as well as help us find our way locally.
Cons: The beds were very firm for my standards, but I've found that to be common in China. Also, the air conditioning did not appear to cool as well as I had wished, however, I have also found this to be true in China, so I don't believe it was an issue with the hotel.
Pros: Breakfast was included in our package and it was amazing!
Pros: The room was very comfortable and staff helpful with all our queries.
Pros: Old luxury hotel, it is very cosy though. More business orientated than anything else, but ok.
Cons: We were very disappointed about the swimming facilities. They don’t belong to Grand Mercure Hotel, but to Sofitel, which is a block away. We went there and it was freezing, there was people in coats and street footwear in the swimming area, which made our bikinis and flip flops feel weird. Really not nice. On top of that, there is a SPA sauna area, that apparently it’s very nice, but how could I know, since ONLY MAN ARE ABLE TO USE IT (!!!!!!!). Isn’t Sofitel a European Group?!?! It is unacceptable.
Pros: Beautiful room Good breakfast
Cons: Staff spoke very little english
Cons: The WiFi had a problem connecting and I asked the front desk. They sent a tech guy to check on it. As soon as he entered the room and saw the macbook his reply was it doesn’t work on Apple devices. I told him I cannot accept that reply, but there was nothing they could do. Great place but definitely won’t recommend for work.
Pros: the hotel was in a great location. the room service was nice.
