Pros: The star rating was lower than it should be.
7,9 Good
Pros: Staff was friendly. Everything was Clean & smelled really good,-which is so important! Bed was super comfy. Bathroom clean. They have 2 pools - 1 indoor, 1 outdoor. Fitness room and a lounge for drinks at night and breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to try their breakfast.
Cons: I had a room on the 2nd floor by the hotel entrance and people would go out there and sit by the fountain and smoke, which was fine, but they were kinda loud after 11pm when trying to sleep.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the room, spacious, comfortable beds and loved that there was an indoor and outdoor pool.
Cons: Honestly everything was great. But if I was to say something it would be that I would like to come back during the holidays but they don't allow pets in the main hotel and I would need to bring my dog. They have a separate building for people with pets and it does not look as nice as the main hotel. I would like to see pets to be allowed in the main hotel as well.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Rooms were very spacious.
5,0 Okay
Pros: I was informed breakfast was included and until 10:00 a.m. I was looking forwward to it! When we went to eat at 9:20 a.m I was so dissapointed that there was no breakfast other than cereal and coffee. I asked the girl at front desk why I was not able to take advantage of breakfast promised, she advised breakfast was only served until 10 am on weekends! I was very dissapointed and feel we were lied to or at least misled.
Cons: see above. Dont tell us we were paid for free breakfast when not true, Altough our room was clean and smelled fresh, we did not appreciate the many "fruit flies" or Fleas" flying around the lights. I got bit on arms We almost asked to be moved, but did not want the hassle of moving items and belongings again
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beds were comfortable, staff was efficient and friendly and the hotel was convenient to the highway. It was quiet and clean.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Elevator not working and even though I specified on the booking because my husband has a disability, we would need a first floor room, we were told the place was fully booked and all they had was a 3rd floor room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, room, and breakfast
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The bartender was excellent, really enjoyed his service and company.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great! Staff was so nice Clean & convenient
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Beds super comfy, daughter enjoyed the pool, breakfast was pretty good, location was ideal for us ... actually my daughter (8) said it was the most comfortable bed she had ever been in ..... soooo that’s good for Comfort Inn but apparently I should really consider getting a better mattress for our home! haha
Cons: Bathroom smelled mildew-y but I think that was because the door had been closed for a while. It aired out quickly. Really no big complaints. Oh, the refrigerator didn’t work but that wasn’t a hardship.
7,1 Good
Pros: Coffee was hot & great.

Overview Reviews
The Publick House Historic Inn in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, where good food comes out of our Yankee ovens and warm hospitality greets every guest.Ebenezer Crafts opened the Inn in 1771 as a gathering place for citizens of Sturbridge and weary travelers along the Boston Post Road. In 1923, the property was purchased as a boarding house for women and renamed The Elms. During the 1940's, then owner, Richard Paige, leased the property to the US Army as a post for soldiers en route for training. The Publick House, during this time, moved across the common to a large white house. Not one day has been missed in providing good hospitality in over 230 years.Since 1771, Publick House Inn has been the lodging and dining hub for esteemed visitors, from George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and General Lafayette to present day travelers, such as actors Bill Murray, Susan St. James and John Travolta. Today, the old world spirit continues welcoming guests with open hearths and Yankee hospitality. The dining room features an indulging array of duck, lamb, lobster, and other specialty meat and seafood dishes, including a traditional Thanksgiving fare available all year long.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The employees were very nice and I liked the room decor. Breakfast was nice as well.
Cons: Where our room was located. First floor on the end. Right outside was the parking lot and entrance to the building. Other guests were going in and out in the early morning hours slamming the door.
6,8 Good
Pros: The bed was surprisingly comfortable
Cons: The room was very outdated and smelled musty. We had to sleep with the sliding glass door open to air out the room. Manageable but not what I would have expected.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the grounds, the eating spots.
Cons: Signage say from outside registration to the correct building was non-existent!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness. Stayed at Tillyer House. It was like staying at a private home with beautiful porch and living room with fireplace. Room was very nice. Bed super comfortable. Ate at inn and the food was delicious. Staff very helpful and friendly. Coffee and sweet buns at the Bakery was a very nice treat.
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant and tavern is great. Location is great for me when travelling to Boston or Maine. Have been stopping there for 30+ years. Continues to be a great place to visit.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Publick house offered assorted mini muffins and plenty of choices of coffee for a breakfast snack. It was delicious. We had dinner the night before and liked the tavern atmosphere, which offers the same menu as the inns restaurant (the tap room). Both place give you the old world charm and the food and menu choices were fabulous. Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed.
Cons: Nothing. It was a great stay and experience. We wish we could have stayed longer.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Averi front desk very proficient and quick grasp 0g multiple events at same time . Room so rich in experience; bake shop & free breakfast opened too late for me.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: the Public House is an old favourite but this was the first time out of the main inn. As ever a delightful spot and very convenient for major roads
Cons: no coffee or tea making facility in the room
6,3 Good
Pros: While the property was nice, the fact that there was a wedding taking place caused a problem. The people inthe wedding were allowed to hang out in the parking lot and surrounding area and consume beverages and act loud and boisterous until well after 130 am. Unacceptable
Cons: See earlier comments
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the property, the buildings, the history, the staff and the food. Everything was great.
Cons: Don’t expect luxury accommodations. It’s clean and old. Fine for me, others might whine.

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Had parking, microwave in room, frig. In room. Laundry facilities, wifi and computer with printer facilities.
Cons: They charge for breakfast in lobby. Many hotels offer this for free.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: They held my bags for me while I waited for me bus.
Cons: Nah
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Located close to mechanics hall and DCU center.
Cons: Parking cost $12 and garage was across the street, so slightly inconvenient for moving luggage. Also walls were paper thin and I could clearly hear my neighbors in the adjoining room at 7am.
6,3 Good
Pros: Size of the room
Cons: Could not find my reservation, took 45 min in the lobby while contacting booking.com, very disorganized. Room was dingy, not well kept. Looks as if it had not been updated since WWII
5,0 Okay
Pros: The check in was easy and friendly.
Cons: I stay at a beautiful Hilton yearly in South Carolina- so I was a little surprised that this location was not up to the same standard. My room felt a little run down.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: I always take a suite and get free breakfast.what happened this time? No more breakfast comes when u rent a suite?
7,9 Good
Pros: The proximity to Holy Cross and decent restaurants.
Cons: The front desk clerk was not exactly friendly at check in. The room we reserved was not available so we had to get a room with a king instead of two queens as reserved. Parking is not included nor is breakfast. The decor in the rooms would be perfect for Florida- and although it doesn’t affect our stay it is too much.
9,2 Excellent
Cons: I thought breakfast was free
5,0 Okay
Pros: Manager on duty was great and apologetic for all the continued issues.
Cons: The fitted sheets for the king sized bed didn't fit and kept popping off, and I'm a stationary sleeper. When a down pillow allergy was communicated, they gave us another down pillow. They only had 1 synthetic, which took 30 mins to finally get. The room had two towels, and housekeeping only replaced one of the two. Getting a 2nd towel took a long time., and the person who was called in had the room number wrong and refused to give us the towel in the hallway until he radioed it down to confirm?!?? Super outdated - not even a USB port anywhere for devices? I was prepared with a wall outlet, but I have to charge a ton of devices for work and so I had to rotate charging them. Night and day from all my other Hilton experiences.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Staff, property, dining options
Cons: Cleanliness, broken shower head
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Professional staff, amenities ease of navigating city
Cons: Pantry could be better but not really important
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything comfortable and clean
Cons: Parking feed

Cons: I wrote to them later that I much liked the quality of the free breakfast but was disappointed in the plastic cutlery and throw-away paper plates. They replied instantly that they would work on that and I applaud them for that reaction
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Loved the full kitchen. Rooms were very clean. Friendly, helpful staff. The evening bar was a nice touch! Good breakfast. I will definitely be staying there again!
Cons: No complaints!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room with updated furnishings.
Cons: Have an extra blanket and pillow in the room.
7,1 Good
Cons: Pet food found on floors. Dirty pans in the kitchen. Yet the staff did replace them upon request
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good, much better than I expected. Excellent selection of yogurts, homemade oatmeal, eggs, coffees and teas, and fresh fruits. The suite was very spacious, especially the kitchen and sitting area. Bedroom had a door giving more privacy if family members sleep in the living room.
Cons: Better soundproofing would be good for windows and walls. At 3am-4am there was an argument or just angry, loud voices that I couldn't tell where it was coming from...another floor, the parking lot...and disorienting and so I didn't call the lobby to complain. One is always nervous about complaining and causing more of a problem.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff at your service, pool table in the lobby was awesome! Gave the kids something to do since the pool and the basketball court was being used

5,0 Okay
Cons: It was so dated. Noise from second floor
7,0 Good
Pros: Location is very convenient. Price is right.
Cons: The hot water took 5 mins to heat up. The whole hotel should be non-smoking, or designate an outside location away from other guests rooms. Someone was chain smoking right outside my door. Had to speak to them.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice interior and good beds, easily accessible from the highway and nevertheless nice and quiet.
Cons: Although all appeared to be nice and clean, the one thing I ran into, almost ruined my very possitive experience: hairs in the bathtub... in and on the edge of the bathtub, so one would say hard to miss... I am practically bold, so definitely not my own
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, location was so convenient. But the lady who waited on us both times we stayed there, she was so helpful, friendly, efficient. She recommended a restaurant that we had wanted to visit and gave excellent directions. The room was charming and the view was dramatic!
Cons: Hard to improve on this!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Easy access to everything. Close to OSV, restaurants, the wedding venue I was there for, and some stores.
Cons: Even with the air on, the room got a little warm at night, but that's just a personal opinion, as I always run warm.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location and loved the lack of carpet n the floors
10,0 Excellent
Cons: I needed to do some work and you did not have a business office or computer available for guests.
7,1 Good
Pros: Convenient. Clean. Comfortable beds. Decent breakfast. Nice lady who stocked the continental breakfast.
Cons: I was double charged and they claimed my card was declined and that they were going to cancel my reservation but I had already checked in so they didn’t. Made absolutely no sense. Spent at least an hour and a half of my visit dealing with this. .They tried to say that you charged me not them. But clearly it said super 8 when I looked on my card online. They charged me then refunded me. Obviously a mistake on the staffs part. I then heard the staff saying they might have to have me pay cash. They made me give them a card for incidentals and charged my card 400.12 for the entire stay. They did not charge the other two couples we were traveling with anything. The three people at the front desk were inept. Perhaps they should be retrained in customer service. I was afraid that I was going to be double charged but the card they took for Incidentals was the card the charged me For the stay. So frustrating.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable beds. Great that they allowed our pet!
Cons: Please stop using styrafoam products in the breakfast service. The room decor was kind of odd - super modern with old fashioned pictures from Sturbridge Village.
8,0 Excellent

Cons: Not very clean, needs to be renovated
6,7 Good
Pros: Convenient
Cons: Needed repairs. Floor cracked. TV outdated. No breakfast before 7?

Pros: The room was comfortable, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. It was great to have breakfast ready to go for us in the morning. The coffee was really good!
Cons: Breakfast was great but one of the staff was asked a question about the scones and replied that it was a plain scone. The other customer after eating a bite or two had to tell the staff member that it contained nits, I would hate for a person with allergies to be misinformed about the food offered. Maybe just a little bit of discussion should take place to make sure the staff setting up the breakfast is aware of any potential allergy risks.

Pros: Very clean except for the handprints on the inside of the bathroom door. The bed was very comfortable and clean. I misplaced something and had to look around the floor and underneath furniture and didn't find anything to turn me off. Not what I expected in a strip style motel. The view was the road But has beautiful flowers planted. Some kind of decent looking diner right next door.

Cons: Everything was fine. Just as you'd expect for a motel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room super clean, I did not expect it to be as clean and comfortable as it was. I was happy with the breakfast provided. The room had a nice size refrigerator and television. I thought the location was perfect as it was quite yet plenty of restaurants and shopping close by. I felt the staff was friendly, I felt safe and secure at the motel. I loved being able to park in front of the room. It was my 1st visit to the area, I was visiting family that recently moved to Worcester. I decided on this location because it was near the Brimfield flea market. I plan to return for visits and will be staying at the Scottish Inn.
Cons: The mattress in 102 could have been slightly more softer, but that's just my preference.

Pros: Location is perfect for drop-off or visit to WPI.
Cons: Breakfast is not included - available for additional cost. Coffee not even available - you have to pay for that as well. Really behind the times on this one. Parking is also a challenge. Had to use the street one night and still got charged.

Pros: Bartender in bistro was great!!! Had a blast
Cons: I loved our stay! Staff was perfect. But our room was never cleaned n our towels weren’t replaced. We spoke to the maid right outside our door n she said she would take care of it.. came back n never done. Had to check out without taking a shower be a cause there were no clean towels. Beds weren’t made n nothing was replenished. Other than that it was a great stay n looking to come back in November for sons football game.

Pros: You have to purchase everything at this hotel, parking is not free, they have not updated this property, Very Expensive for a Courtyard and staff is rude.
Cons: Will never stay at this location again.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was ideal, right next to WPI. Check-in was friendly, efficient, professional, well done.
Cons: There was only a thin fitted bed sheet barely hanging onto the mattress. And no mattress cover. Had to ask housekeeper for an extra flat sheet to cover it. Only one small trash bin, low water pressure in shower, and sink drained very slowly.
7,5 Good
Cons: They should have free coffee in the lobby in the morning! Most hotels do...

Pros: It's location and the free breakfast. We were on a road trip. It was great to stop close to the highway and get something to eat right where we stayed before getting back in the road.
Cons: The mirror in the bathroom was not clean. Previous guest drew a smiley face in the steam and it was still there when I showered.

Cons: I was disappointed that there was no orange juice available on the breakfast bar. My bed mattress was very hard and I am convinced the comforter was infested with mites. I itched all night long and was unable to sleep.

Pros: Breakfast was great. The room was comfortable and very clean.
7,5 Good
Pros: Large room, with quite nice WiFi access. 24/7 fitness center, free of charge. Coffee maker and iron in the room.
Cons: -They have charged my credit cart at the day of arrival (a few hours before I have arrived). The receptionist suggested wasn't able to do anything about it. We discussed it next day with another receptionist. She claimed she will return the cash to our cards. After to days with no cash we asked: There was no return done. -Receptionist was unable to provide a standard invoice (for my company). I required the manager and about 1 hour to prepare such a standard document. -For the breakfast some healthy food (some vegetables, some whole grain bread ) would be nice.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was ok. Location was easily accessible. Room was, for the most part clean. Didn't like finding someone else's hair on the shower wall.
Cons: I didn't like that the central air, which was behind the curtains. Tried to turn it down and it just blew behind the curtain. Since I was on ground level, I wanted to keep the curtains closed so strangers couldn't look into the room. The bathroom needs attention. Plumbing fixtures were loose. Tub drain was out of whack. Never once, over my two day stay, did the water get hot in the shower.

7,5 Good
Pros: The location is fantastic, and the staff are good. We stayed in two different rooms - at the front (pretty good) and the back (not so good at all). Most of all though, we were very pleased that the hotel changed our first booking following our airline delaying us a day. We can't thank the hotel enough for this as it turned a disaster into a success for us. We'd return to Sturbridge Econolodge again fro sure.
Cons: The bathroom in the room(s) at the rear of the hotel are really not acceptable.
