10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was well situated in the house with a lovely front-facing view over the garden and fields. The location is part of The National Trust area so has beautiful surroundings. The house is full of character and charm and was comfortable and well maintained. A decanter of sherry was a nice touch to welcome us to our room. The hospitality was great and David and Janice were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. They made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was one of, if not, the best we have ever had. It was a hearty meal and we could have had more if we wanted to. This alone is worth the trip so compliments to The Chef.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast!
Cons: Nothing
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Great location next to a pub. Cosy warm and clean. Lovely touch of sherry and Christmas cake in the room . Fantastic breakfast . This was our second year would definitely recommend
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Greeted on arrival. Room spacious, clean and tidy. Staff knowledgeable about local area. Breakfast was first rate, plentiful, well cooked and hot.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The host was fantastic-warm, welcoming and attentive yet not overbearing. The property has a lovely country feel to it, cosy and homely, plus we appreciated the little extra touches such as a slice of Christmas cake each in our room as a treat with our brews. The breakfast isn’t far the best we’ve had anywhere, that alone would have us returning time and again. Thanks for a great stay!

Pros: The house was impeccable, welcoming with a relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: The traffic noise and coffee, (but I took my own!)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Not to far from Airport and in a nice area for a really cheap price.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A peaceful 2 nights stay at Heatherlea. I like to be left alone to get on with work & really loved the idea that you don't have to pay for facilities that you don't use. Brought my own food for one night & it was useful to use the microwave outside the rooms to heat up my own food, Crockery, cutlery & sauces all provided. On the other night, I walked to the local shops, takeaway chinese, curry, pizza, kebabs, burgers & a convenience store to buy some milk. Great addition of a fridge in the room & lashings of complimentary tea, coffee & hot chocolate. Everything was so clean, it looked like new. Slept like a log on both nights as it was just so quiet. Will be booking again without a doubt.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Ample Parking. friendly and helpful staff. My single bed had Ensuite. Had tea making capability.
Cons: Breakfast was not even an additional option. But to be fair there were places around.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good size, clean and friendly host
Cons: Bathroom or rather shower room could have been better
10,0 Excellent
Pros: our room was spacious and the owner had thought of all the finer details, it was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and homely. The furnishings were of quality. The owner listened to our requirements of where to go out in the evening and was happy to help us. Would stay again.
Cons: There were no negatives for us.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: We choose this place so we were near to the airport for a long haul flight the next morning so sleep was very important, unfortunately we didn’t find out until going to bed at 11.30pm that the mattress was in fact broken !!! We couldn’t contact anyone so just had to try and make the best of it, it had been covered up with a mattress topper but when pulled back there was a very old mattress that had completely collapsed and was dirty and very old!!! I didn’t slept and it ruined my flight, we were also told although there was not breakfast there would be a fruit bowl and some snacks available in the morning again simply not true, it was also difficult to find in the dark and was not that close to the town, I contacted the owner who has kept promising to come back to me but after 3 weeks I can clearly see she has no intention of dealing with the problem, it’s shameful to rent a bedroom with the bed in this state!!!

6,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast only ok
8,0 Excellent
Pros: staff were excellent, breakfast as well.
Cons: the beds were a little small
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We requested a cot for our 17 month old and one was in the room when we arrived. There was also a fridge with a note on the top saying they know what it’s like travelling with children... I thought it was a really nice gesture. They’d given us extra spoons and napkins too. The note also said they had colouring sheets available if we needed them to keep the little one occupied. There was a kettle and tea, coffee, hot choc and they gave real milk in a flask. I find this a great little extra!! There was also a couple of bottles of water. The room was spacious, plenty of space even with the cot in. The bed was comfortable. It was clean with plenty of towels. There were mirrors and they were huge! I love this. Many hotels only have a little mirror or one in an awkward spot, this definitely wasn’t the case. Plenty of light options too which is always a bonus. We left our car in the carpark whilst we were away, it was £3 per night and the hotel booked us the taxi for the morning we left. There was someone available at reception all the time.
Cons: We stayed here in 2017 and left early like we did on this occasion. The restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast so they gave us a simple takeaway breakfast in a bag. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case this time. It was great to have and the booking did include breakfast so would have loved something like that again. We ended up spending a lot of extra money in the airport buying breakfast whereas had we known we weren’t going to get the breakfast bag we would have taken something with us. I guess had we not stayed before we wouldn’t have known about the breakfast bags so would have taken something. Maybe we shouldn’t have assumed things were still the same.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and well maintained
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location when flying from Manchester Airport. 3rd time I have stayed here, always a comfortable and relaxing place. Great pub next door with good food and selection of drinks.
Cons: Nothing.
6,0 Good
Pros: The rooms were modern, clean, warm and comfortable. Shower excellent! They also provided fresh milk to take to the room for tea and coffee, nice touch! Rooms were good value for money.
Cons: Food at the Bulls Head Pub was of very poor quality, all 3 meals for dinner were genuinely sub standard. Breakfast choice poor and the cooked breakfast dry despite having it at 7:30 due to early start. The payment machine was not working in the check in day and still not working the following day when we were trying to check out and had to wait for a long time for another machine to be 'borrowed' from the pub for us to pay.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: lovely breakfast
9,0 Excellent
Pros: I was allowed into room earlier than the check in time which was really helpful of the management. The hotel is close to the train station in Marple - and the town centre just up the road. The management were friendly, but was able to maintain privacy in the hotel. My room was very comfy - simple but with everything required - kettle/sink etc, the room was really clean and shared bathroom likewise, lovely big old bath tub and shower too! The hotel is obviously well looked after, and cleanliness a priority. Overall the place had a cosy, welcoming feel to it. Marple and surrounding area are really pretty - lots of walking and outdoor exploration opportunities.

5,0 Okay
Pros: Lots of free parking space. Single room nice and roomy, and thankfully the events on both evenings friday and Saturday finished at 12.00 and 12.30 so able to sleep, as I was in the single rooms above the events rooms.
Cons: My room number 53 was cold, radiator didn't get very warm, and bathroom no heating and was very cold, a shame as it is a nice room.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: i missed the first breakfast but was happy to attend breakfast the second day . it was lovely grapefruit and apple juice...spoilt for choice...i had came for a brainscan at biobank......the room was nice and relaxing... had trouble sleeping the second night so i done taichi movements to relax me as i had the urge to talk but no one to talk to!!
Cons: i was only dissappointed i didnt have support or a friend with me...ever gone to a brainscan alone!?
8,0 Excellent
Pros: entirely satisfactory with excellent service
Cons: Absence of a lift
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything apart from the fact there is no lift
Cons: NO LIFT
6,7 Good
Pros: Friendly family run hotel, staff lovely, food good, location good
Cons: Hotel was clean but decor and furniture showing signs of age
1,0 Poor
Pros: The staff were nice and polite, the location is great and there's lots of parking available.
Cons: I'm not hard to please but the room was disappointing, I wasn't expecting a lot for the price paid but the shower was a nightmare, despite following instructions taped to the wall, the shower would go cold 1 minute in. That compounded with dead flies in the light fittings, mould around the windows, paint pealing from the ceiling. I can only describe it looking like a DIY fitted bathroom from the 70s. The bed was uncomfortable and hardly got any sleep whilst I was there. Only 1/3 lights worked in the room. Breakfast I wouldn't have again and the food in the evening was just about acceptable, all the food was greasy and didn't taste fresh at all. I won't be returning.

Pros: The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly, cheerful, helpful and efficient
Cons: Nothing
6,0 Good
Pros: Nice and spacious room. Really friendly staff.
Cons: Unfortunately, the room was too hot at night and even though they provided a fan, it was still too hot and the fan was too noisy. This caused us to lose quite a bit of sleep and since my partner had an important appointment early next day, this was quite annoying. The screen on the radiator was also really bright and we couldn't figure out how to dim the light. I had to put my coat over it to stop the light from annoying us as we slept.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Closeness to the airport. Comfy rooms Great food Free car park for guests
7,0 Good
Pros: Great service from lady on reception. We asked for a wine cooler and glasses and they were brought straight up to the room. The entrance to the hotel had the wow factor. Good location, short taxi ride into wilmslow or Handforth. Tasty breakfast.
Cons: The bedroom and bathroom was a little dated, with old dark furniture. The bathroom needed updating to modern standards. The pillows were very uncomfortable. We had to wait over 5 minutes for someone to attend the bar. The breakfast waitress didn't look happy to be working there.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: The dinner was amazing and the breakfast options were also great. The staff were fantastic start to finish.
Cons: Our room had a very creaky floor and the walls were so thin I got woken up by someone snoring in the room above us. You could here people walk quietly through the halls, let alone if they were speaking to one another.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great food
Cons: The hairdryer
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff and my 2nd stay on way home to Texs
Cons: Lower ground rooms are far too hot
10,0 Excellent
Pros: excellent room and facilities great grounds and staff.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Attended a function, golden Anniversay.. all the staff were excellent, very attentive, professional as well as friendly. Unfortunately cannot quote names as there were too many who gave excellent service. I wish I had left the function earlier as my bed was so comfortable! But then I would have missed a great party!
Cons: The fruit selection, particularly the melon, watermelon great, Galliano, at least i think it was Galliano, was like wood and tasted the same. The sausages in the hot buffet were pretty dismal. Having now made my moan, an excellent selection on various pastries, good selection of cereals, orange juice was great and coffee, a nice one of that, was brought to the table regularly by the pleasant staff.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: It is a Miller & Carter steak house so the food is excellent.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Comfy and clean with everything you need in a great location.
Cons: Nothing really, apart from that breakfast was packed away by 09:40 so I didn’t get the second cup of tea I was looking forward to; breakfast staff were very loud and busy looking after the local builder who was there to do a job, felt a bit like we had wandered into someone’s front room - very relaxed :-) ...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The resteraunt was very good, with exceptional food and wine, combined with good service in most cases it was a very nice stay and would certainly stay there again.
Cons: The room was a bit small, and the floor creaked, which caused the wardrobe to creak also. A couple of the young male bar staff, were a little cocky on a couple of occasions, first time was when I asked for a glass of house red wine after my dinner; the young lad, just said 'We don't do house wine' so when I questioned, this because it's what I had been requested on two occasions with my dinner, with no problem, he just said, 'I can't help that, we don't do house wine! Personally I found this a bit anti-social. The second occasion was when a friend of mine who I was having a drink with before dinner; my friend ordered a drink at the barn to have a similar issue with one of the young barmen, being a bit rood. To be honest it was a bit too much of a coincidence to me that two different barmen being a bit anti-social/cocky to patrons.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I liked that the room it was clean and tidy, it was definitely worth the money spent and wasn't too far away from where we needed to go. The steakhouse looks very nice and all the staff were very friendly.
Cons: There wasnt anything that I didn't like.

Cons: The traffic noise and coffee, (but I took my own!)

Cons: Breakfast was not even an additional option. But to be fair there were places around.
