Cons: Nothing
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Des’s hospitality was second to none. We were made feel very welcome despite arriving much later than anticipated.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and service were wonderful. The building and grounds were amazing. The location isn't easy to find as it's out of town, down a quiet road. If you want an historic building, in an out of the way location with great service, then this the place for you.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Well appointed rooms and grounds. Dez was very helpful
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful, inside and out. Very neat castle ruins onsite. The host, Des, was incredibly kind and helpful at every opportunity. Parking was easy and secure. Bed was comfy, and the view outside my window was exquisite. Great pub very close by for a last-minute evening meal. It was such pleasure to stay here. Loved the sauna (uncommon for B&Bs!)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was an amazing experience! We were greeted with a spot of tea in the parlor when we first checked in. Perfect start of our vacation as it revived us from the flight. Looked like a chateau with remnants of a castle next door. It was set on a green lush hill with beautiful gardens around the property. Had dinner at a great spot The Holy Cross on our proprietors recommendation. Had a nice fire set for us when we returned and enjoyed the beautiful rooms with lovely antique settings. Breakfast in the morning was beautifully presented and delicious! Enjoyed the great food and time spent with our host Des learning about the local history. Plan to put this on our list of places to return to!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this property is beautiful, including the gorgeous decor, the large rooms, the gardens and the amazingly picturesque ruins of the the castle, manor house and other buildings. The owner Des is a most welcoming host who provides a relaxed environment, a delicious breakfast and accommodation which is exceptional.
Cons: There was nothing to not like here.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: We had a great time at Waterford Castle. My sister and I travel together and we were surprised when we arrived that we had 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, full kitchen with dishwasher, washer and dryer, fireplace, a picnic table on the back patio and two balconies! Reasonably priced for a 3 day stay. We had been traveling for more than a week so took one day and vegged out. We walked around the private island that the hotel is on, made a grocery run and generally chilled. We also visited several attractions in Waterford and drove to the Rock of Cashel and Kilkenny Castle for one long day. Good base for seeing the sites in SE Ireland. We had one breakfast at the castle and it was so much food that it triggered our veg day. Also ate one dinner there. Food was great and staff uniformly helpful and solicitous. We would love to go back and bring a full house!
Cons: We have one suggestion: please provide lightweight covers for the beds. While I love the feel of a duvet, it was too much for the time we were there. Woke up sweaty with no alternative covers. Ended up using my all-weather coat as a blanket instead of the duvet. Note that we found this problem in all of the places we stayed in Ireland.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were good and the food was excellent, and the general ambiance was great. We loved walking around the Island.
Cons: The suite we stayed in, the suir suite needed some refurbishment as the carpet was heavily stained and the room needed painting and freshening up.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the small number of guests and the excellent service from the staff. Food excellent too
Cons: We found the heating went off regularly and we found our bedroom /bathroom got cold. The bar on the second night was abit chilly. This was our only fault.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very hospitable. Room was amazing and exceptionally clean. The food was great (breakfast more so than dinner). Also I was proposed to here so I'm a little biased
Cons: Not a lot to do around the castle other than golf and trails.

Pros: Beautiful setting, extra large room for 2 night stay! Had the usual bed throw comforter that is the going thing in hotel stays but came with the common sense approach of providing blankets also since 90 % of the time, the bed comforters are way over the top and much too hot! Breakfast also was great and owners very friendly and helpful! You'll like it!

Pros: Yummy and satisfactory
Cons: No comment
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Lovely house. Would certainly stay again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly very clean very accommodating
Cons: Pretty much everything
1,0 Poor
Pros: I thought the location would be good, but there are only two parking spaces and you'll need to pull your car onto the sidewalk pavement in an area very busy with students on route going and coming from bars. So unless you want groups of drunk people stepping around your car, get there very early.
Cons: They did not hold the room I booked! Upon entry, I was asked too many personal questions as though they didn't trust me. Very heavy on the security so that made me uncomfortable right away. They said my phone didn't work when they called to confirm. So what? In 18 years using this site I never got called to confirm the booking - and aside from that, a credit card holds the booking in case of any issue. They then tried to give me a horrible tiny room (too small to open my luggage aside from on the bed) and my private bathroom was actually a tiny WC across the hall. I told them I booked a private bathroom so I don't need to get dressed in the middle of the night to use it. They said no one would likely be around in the other rooms that night and technically, only 'en suite' means it is in the same room. Unbelievable! Upon further investigation, it turned out he rented the room I booked to someone else - citing that I didn't answer the phone, but he kept the crappy room just in case I showed up. Potential visitors should note the dining area also had way too many tiny tables for comfort, especially for big or tall people. This is just what was a residential family house someone took off the market and decided to turn into a (2 parking spaces) hotel. It is too small for al the people they want to put in there. Since they were trying to fob me off into an inferior room, I left and went to a decent hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcome, fantastic breakfast and the rooms were lovely and bright and comfortable.
Cons: Everything was perfect. Graeme was lovely and went out of his way to ensure our stay was a positive experience.

7,5 Good
Pros: Great location, good parking
Cons: Mattress needed replacing, little things like no tissues matter. Continental breakfast a little dissapointing
7,0 Good
Cons: The bar man was ignorant -karlos-
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I stayed one night at the Fitzwilton. We really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very helpful and our room was great. Unfortunately, the one night we stayed there, the restaurant was not open, but there were lots of great restaurants within walking distance. We definitely plan on coming back to Waterford and when we do, we'll probably stay at the Fitzwilton again.
Cons: The parking was pretty rough. I circled through the "parking garage" three times before I finally realized that I was just going to have to cram my car into a space. Glad I got there when I did, because if we had showed up much later, we would have been out of luck.

Pros: The front desk lady (sorry I didn't get her name) was super friendly and helpful. This was our first night in Ireland after a really long travel day so it was nice to have someone friendly greet us. The restaurant dinner was just ok but we were too tired to try to find someplace else.

6,0 Good
Pros: The room was spacious if a little dated decor wise, my friend was in a lovely room decor wise, think the hotel is being updated which is great
Cons: Breakfast was pretty poor...not a great selection, wedges were the highly processed frozen ones you get in garage deli counters across Ireland
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Everthing
Cons: every thing was fine . great food. staff attentive
5,4 Okay
Pros: Great location
Cons: The room was dirty, the sausages at breakfast were tiny, there was a fly in the fruit salad & when we informed the staff they took the bowl out to the kitchen & brought it straight back with the fly just scooped out instead of changing it completely. The room was stupidly hot, making it difficult to sleep.
7,1 Good
Pros: The view
Cons: Issues with breakfast. I discovered mouldy white bread in the bread basket, which contained 3 bread varieties - white sliced, brown sliced and a homemade style brown loaf sliced. The green mould was around the crust of the white bread which was sitting between both brown breads. The basket was sent back to the kitchen when i pointed it out to the waitress. It was obviously picked through and the same basket returned with 4 slices of white bread sitting between the brown bread as before. I went to make toast again and this time I noticed the bread had black mould in the centre of the slices. Showed this to the waitress who again removed the basket. I didn't check if the basket returned. I wasn't bothered at that stage, it tainted our stay. So we left and I as I was exiting the breakfast area the waitress apologised for the bread issue. I said to her that the least that should have been done was a new sliced pan be opened. She explained that the expiry date on the bread was the 19th (we were there sat 16th). She insisted it was fresh. The breakfast is the last chance a hotel gets to make an impression, The Majestic failed miserably. I will not be returning. I was there with my mother for her birthday, we travelled from another county to Tramore for the weekend.

Pros: It was local.
Cons: We stayed in the old part of the hotel, rooms were shabby and in need of modernisation. They were also very cold.

Pros: Location very good. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Cons: A staff member banging on our door around 5.30 a.m. to wake us up ( we had only gone to bed at 2.30) saying our alarm light was going off in reception. I got a fright as our daughter was also staying in the hotel in a different room and my fist thought was of her. They asked us if we were smoking and neither one of us smoke. I could not go back to sleep again. I got up and used the pool which was very nice. The staff were very pleasant about it when I mentioned it and said they have to check rooms if the alarm goes off down stairs. So full marks on safety. Pity I had so little sleep. In spite of this I would go back again.
