Pros: Absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious. Hosts were delightful. So comfortable.

Pros: Breakfast was fabulous, staff was very friendly
Cons: Bed was more firm than my taste
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We have never enjoyed a night away from home as much as our short stay at 1840 North Main. We were greeted by Guy and shown around the facility. Our room was spotless and the decor amazing. Both Guy and Jane (the owners) were there in the morning when we came to breakfast. Both were very nice and willing to do anything to make us comfortable. Great facility Great owners and perfect location.
Cons: Nothing everything about 1840 was in good condition and the appointments were very well thought out. If you visit 1840 you will not be disappointed. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best we would rate this B&B a 10+++
7,1 Good
Pros: The house is well taken care of and the rooms are clean, well stocked and comfortable. However, the house has had substantial work and is not filled with original antiques. Breakfast was excellent and well done.
Cons: The house is on Main Street, so with that said the traffic noise is loud and constant.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: great location, comfortable rooms and amenities. very friendly staff.
Cons: we unfortunately didn’t have much time to spend there to have any negatives.
10,0 Excellent

9,0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were comfortable and breakfast was great.
Cons: The doors were heavy and closed quickly- I woke up to doors slamming shut by 6am both mornings we were there.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean, and had all the amenities that we wanted. The breakfast was relatively small compared to some other hotels I've stayed at, but the cinnabon muffins were great.
Cons: It was a rather loud building. I've been at many hotels where you can hear people passing your room and next door neighbors, but it was a bit excessive. The first night it kept waking me up until about 2 AM. The second night it was fine.
10,0 Excellent

8,0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was super warm and welcoming. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The room was cozy and quiet and the bed was comfortable--we got a good night's rest. The location was convenient to get into town for restaurants and shops as well as surrounding towns and wineries.
Cons: The shower stall was kind of dated and a little worn. The lighting in the room was a bit dim. The breakfasts were very generous but could have been a little lighter and not so heavy on the eggs. Perhaps an offering of yogurt with fruit, or oatmeal with fruit would be good options.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hostess very nice as was breakfast.
Cons: When booking, I thought I booked a private bath and when reviewing on line it said so Printed confirmation did not mention private bath. When we got there there was a shared bath. Not a problem as no one else was there. We would not have been happy if we had to share. THIS SEEMS TO BE A BOOKING PROBLEM WHICH SHOULD BE FIXED GREETEDGR
5,8 Okay
Pros: The porch
Cons: The sheets were not clean and they smelled
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, comfy beds great hostess.
Cons: Nothing
5,0 Okay
Pros: Hard to say. I guess the price? It was OK but I wouldn't stay again. I'm sure the people were quite nice and they reached out via text after we left saying sorry they missed us..... well, we tried to come to breakfast at 9 but apparently we are on the B&B's schedule (kitchen was locked). Again, I don't know what to expect.... maybe that's the norm, I just found it kind of weird. Maybe put some other food out like croissants to those who don't want to wake up with the roosters.
Cons: Small room. The room I was put in was very small and there was a (decorative?) lantern at neck / shoulder level for me in my extremely small room that I kept walking into.... was seriously in the worst place possible unless you were a child or midget. It drew blood the 3rd time (I have the cut on my shoulder to prove it!). I'm not sure what to expect from B&Bs. The TV was my guess 20" if that and it had like 5 channels, all from an antenna. And breakfast at 8am SHARP. If you don't get up for breakfast (we tried around 9), apparently you aren't getting fed. I asked for some water the previous night (and was hoping for maybe a snack) for my 5 year old daughter and was told our room had empty glasses. We had been travelling all day and was just so tired, a few things like that would have went a long way. I guess tap water from the somewhat clean washroom would have to do. Regardless I had to fly out of there on the quick to feed my hungry kid since no one was around... (again, maybe this is the norm and I'm the jerk?). There also seems to be stuff EVERYWHERE....like little trinkets... I was afraid walking down the stairs with my suitcase I was going to knock down one of the 10,000 pictures on the wall of their family (my sweater got caught awkwardly on a frame and I almost did!). Again I'm not sure what to expect from a B&B, they certainly had the "cozy" atmosphere down pat and I'm sure they were very nice (bible's multiple places!) but it just wasn't for us. The "dislikes" weren't that bad, hopefully I'm not making it sound like that, overall it was fine for the money we paid. The lady in the room beside us absolutely loved the place so I'm sure there's some positives that we just didn't get to experience, maybe?
10,0 Excellent

Cons: Only thought it maybe needs block out curtains.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Charming setting and very cozy. Breakfast was exceptionally well.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The innkeeper, was eager to please. She made great recommendations for area attractions. The inn is a beautifully restored antique home and the room we stayed in (Ella's) has both a shower and jetted tub. Huge, delicious country style breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was my 2nd visit to the Bella Ella, the first one being several years ago. As the first time, this visit did not disappoint! I absolutely love the property, the home and the owner, Jeri Lou. Breakfast was amazing as well! We will definitely be back!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: JeriLou was amazing! Her energetic, charming, and funny personality made our stay memorable. Her home was the perfect atmosphere for our tour of the Finger Lakes. I loved her personal touches in her greeting, the room, her stories and especially her breakfast - unique and delicious.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was extremely friendly and made sure we were comfortable and provided a wonderful breakfast!

6,2 Good
Cons: About 2 hours after making the reservation we received a call that the hotel had overbooked!! There was only one room available which was a handicap accessible. Went ahead with this but not happy with the change. The price stayed the same!!! This was a 50 anniversary getaway!!!

6,0 Good
Cons: Cleanliness of grounds. There was a pile of cigarette butts right outside our door.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Room was what I expected.
Cons: Parking in the back
1,0 Poor
Pros: The hotel did not have anything the I liked.
Cons: The breakfast was horrible. The milk was spoiled, the muffins were, the coffee was water down, the orange juice was sour. The mattresses and the sheets were stained. The tv has two channels of QVC.
7,0 Good
Pros: I did not eat the breakfast, because I went to my family's house. The sheets and pillows were fine. It was what it is for the money. And the front desk was friendly and helpful.
Cons: They need to clean behind the faucet of the sink. It hadn't be cleaned in a while and had old hair behind it, which I'm sure the housekeeper can't see unless your bending over brushing your teeth. other wise the rest of the place was nice and clean.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: We didn't eat breakfast there.
7,0 Good
Pros: Room was as expected for a motel; generally clean. Staff pleasant for check in and out. Location can't be beat if you're attending something in town.
Cons: Owner watched breakfast items run out and didn't do anything. Only when some guests (who acted like friends) couldn't get some items, did he try to refill them. Linens had black scuff marks on check in.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice private comfortable room
1,0 Poor
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything. We only stayed in the room for 5 minutes and decided to stay somewhere else in the area. Waste of money.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, easy check in, check out. Bed comfortable, staff accomodating
Cons: Breakfast needs improvement--more than two choices of cereal--froot loops??? too sweet and not a good choice. Pastries were old and stale. More bread choices would be great--whole wheat, etc.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The front desk staff were pleasant.
Cons: There was a broken glass liquor bottle in the front parking lot. The back parking lot was gravel and not paved. It was a one might stay so we didn’t expect much but they had dumb rules like at night when you come in, if you are located on the second floor you can only enter thru the back side of the hotel. Also they want you to park in the back on the rocks overnight. Seemed a bit shady. Woke up the next morning to a spider on the tub and a stink bug On the corner of ceiling wall. Eww.
7,0 Good
Pros: is convenient for the place I wanted to reach next morning.
Cons: price. you charged double occupancy rate even though I am alone
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very basic continental breakfast but that's okay with us, satisfied with it.
Cons: Road noise in morning. Didnt really bother us but may some people in that case get unit in back.

Cons: I did not like the soiled and stained carpets. I did not like a backed up sink in the bathroom. I did not like the television channels not matching up or very dark channels. I did not like hard beds. I did not like first floor rooms and their curtains not closing completely.

1,0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Wasnt allowed to cancel reservation due to emergency. Went,1st room room 215 trashed, 2nd room dirty and stunk.Laid down for nap at 430pm awoke at 6 pm covered in hives and bites.Checked out immediately and staff refused to give any money back.Worst experience ever. Couldn't even get out of parking lot without going through a small alley way covered in pot holes.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The location is close to all points on the southeast side of the city.
Cons: There were too many dogs; barking a lot. Owners don't seem to understand that I don't want their dog around me or to touch me, regardless of how great they seem to think their pet is! After staying here for years, I will look elsewhere.

Overview Reviews
Located in Canandaigua, Campus Gate is within a 5-minute drive of CMAC Performing Arts Center and Roseland Waterpark. Featured amenities include a business center and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Staff was excellent! Very clean and great location. Central to many things as well as a concert venue, which was the purpose of our stay.
Cons: Only thing lacking were amenities usually associated with hotels. This is a dormitory setting. No carpets, coffee makers or hair dryers! A clean bed, towels and a bathroom, that's about it!
5,1 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Proximity to CMAC can't be beat.
Cons: It's a college dorm room at the price of a luxury suite. The furnishings are spartan to use polite terms. The beds were akin to Army cots. Since it really is a dorm, you get to fall asleep to drunken college kids demonstrating their incredible intelligence into the wee hours of the morning. Even if you reserve a room for an event, don't expect it to come with a parking space. They are the closest spot to CMAC off campus and they will sell your parking spot for $20 if your car isn't in it.
6,0 Good
Pros: Location is perfect if you are attending an event at the CMAC. It's right across the street. Rooms are very basic and clean.parking is included. Room had flat screen tv, small kitchenette which was nice to keep food and drinks in the fridge. Please be aware this is a dorm and not a hotel. It served its purpose.
Cons: Beds were firm.
8,5 Excellent
Pros: It is very close to CMAC, possibly the closest place you can stay..
Cons: The refrigerator didn't work. The shower plumbing was apparently hooked up backwards, you had to turn the water to "cold" to get hot. Not a big deal once I figured it out. This was room 106.
