The bed was amazing and the spa was gorgeous with the perfect views. Would highly recommend this place and would love the opportunity to come back. Thank you for our stay.

1,0 Poor
Pros: The atmosphere and the location
Cons: Probably the worst night's sleep I have had for many years. The single bed was small, too narrow and very very hard.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My family of four had a really relaxing 5 night stay at this hotel. The room was cozy and the bathroom up to date. We were basically snowed in for two days but enjoyed the loft where we played games, read books, and and ate our own snacks. Once the weather cleared, we grabbed our gear from the ski room and walked to the slopes. At the end of the day, we skied right back and hit the sauna. The nearby parking was easy after we dropped our bags. The included breakfast was standard alpine fare, meats, cheeses, yogurt, breads, juice, and coffee. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If we return to Tignes, we will stay here again.
Cons: No issues.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good location of hotel. Ski also good. No much slope for beginners in November
Cons: No match for beginners ski slope
6,0 Good
Pros: Very good and friendly staff, who are very helpful. The location is amazing, being near the restaurants and slopes.. Great pool room for the children to hang out in. The boot room was on the ground floor, making the beginning and the end of skiing easy. Great saunas and hot tubs after a day on the slopes.
Cons: The beds are a bit basic, as is the breakfast. The lighting in the room is either Super Nova or single tea-light brightness. There is no bar, as such. Its basically the breakfast area, with a server waiting on the tables, which closes at 8:00 pm. This means the place is pretty dead after then
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Super location, helpful staff, comfy room, and great value. Would happily return!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We (myself, wife and 20 month old baby) have just returned from our stay here. From the second we arrived, the staff were brilliant. The entrance was very nicely decorated for Christmas. The room was very nice! Good size and amazing views. The location was perfect, 1 minute walk to slopes/ski lift and 3-4 minute walk into town. The hotel provides free shuttles when required, which is helpful! Being my first ski holiday, i was unsure what to expect, but i cannot say a bad word about our stay here (and I’m generally quite critical). For what its worth, when we go away we stay in the best hotels around the world and i would easily put this hotel in the same category. Room number 409 is a great room to book if you go..
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible attentiveness of the staff
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Staff exceptionally helpful and always on hand Bar area great.
Cons: Hotel Restaurant lacked character ( but there were plenty of restaurants outside the hotel that were fabulous)

5,8 Okay
Pros: Location, boot room, bar & bar staff
Cons: Booked 2 adjacent rooms but were given rooms 2 floors apart. We were moved to rooms in basement to be together but next to lift shaft and plant room which were noisy night and day - a downgrade on our original booking. No resolution after 4 complaints. Small discount offered at end of stay by way of recompense. Didn’t sleep well for the entire stay.
9,6 Excellent
Cons: Room very small with little light but it was cheapest room

6,3 Good
Pros: Breakfast good. Boot room and ski room really good. Overall, a nice place, and nice owner. Second night booked was great. First night disappointing, as we were given a small double, when we had requested a twin.
Cons: If you specify twin/double room, you might not get what you want. First night stay disappointing - check in disorganised, & twin room requested not available, though the logis resolved this with an extra room (at extra cost). Second night stay much better.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: the home made cookies/cakes after-ski
Cons: the room: small and a bit old looking, would have expected better for the price
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and spacious room. The hotel itself, the building, with good sized reception and common areas. The restaurant was exceptionally good, both for the food and the excellent wine selection with guidance on choices from one of the ladies on staff. Breakfast was also very good Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating
Cons: No problems really
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location within the village. The pool and spa I doors. The breakfast had lots of good options. The hotel was very clean. The room as great for 3 people.
Cons: The floor around the pool gathered lots of water and was very slippery. The eggs at breakfast were inedible. It was difficult to connect to the Wifi.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We had a nice stay at Gentiana. The staff (including the owners) were helpful and easy to deal with. The location is great.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Cosy atmosphere & room. Good breakfast selection. nice indoor pool and spa baths.
Cons: As with, I suspect, all hotels at this location you have to park in one of the underground car parks nearby. Whilst they are free during summer (not winter) the manoeuvring and spaces are very tight if you have a large vehicle. Not a criticism of the hotel.

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, friendly service and a fantastic central location. Decor simple but feels genuinely alpine.
Cons: The accommodation is rated 2* so don't expect luxury facilities and furnishings (beds not great, small bathroom, a little noisy).. not that cheap but reasonable by Val d'Isere standards
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy and comfy- perfect for what I needed. Ski rental shop right outside the door and very close to lifts.
Cons: A little difficult to find but that’s it
9,6 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfort, location, price
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Over the years , I have stayed at various hotels and chalets in Val d’Isere , and in my opinion, in terms of ‘bang for your buck’ this hotel is as good as it gets. Val is a relatively expensive resort . People making very negative comments about this hotel are unrealistic . It is not a 5 star hotel, nor does in pretend to be, but for 3 star it is excellent in every way. That said it would be so easy and cheap for them to make a few minor changes to make the experience even better. As others have said , why they should provide robes to get too and from the sauna/steam room. Sauna was out or order throughout our stay . Steam room was very good. It was -20C whilst we were there , however our room was still too hot. Heating was automatic and non controllable, which meant we had no option other than open the balcony door during the night, which sort of defeated the object . Restaurant owned by hotel la Taverne d'Alsace ) adjacent and under hotel is extremely good however we didn’t realise that residents can purchase a set menu 3 course dinner in there for about 30 euros pp. Hotel however is so centrally located, and resort has so many good restaurants , it is worth visiting other ‘eateries’ also. Big recommendation for the nearby Cote de Bouef at nearby 1789 restaurant . Big positives for the hotel are the helpfulness and friendliness of staff . Central location ( short walk to slopes ) , excellent ground floor ‘boot room’ where you have your own locker ( opened by room key ). Breakfast substantial and varied ( scrambled egg and boiled eggs providing hot option ). Bar area ( same place they serve breakfast ) is very comfortable.
Cons: Few improvements could be made quite simply and easily as above.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable, good location
Cons: Room 108 sits just above the road and every night a local bar closes at 1.30am, terrible noise for the next one and half hours every night so no chance of sleeping. Also snow plough team met each morning at 4.30 outside the hotel to begin clearing deep snow. So be prepared to not sleep if you are allocated this room!
7,9 Good
Pros: Reception bat area refurbished and stylish
Cons: Decor in the room was tired

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The Bed was super comfy
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is just by the slopes. The staff were exceptional in their courtesy, service and friendliness. The communal areas were open, modern and interesting. Breakfast was fresh, flexible and tasty. The evening meal menu was inventive and well executed. A good choice if too tired to wander the village.
Cons: Perhaps the room allocated could have been bigger. I suspect as I booked just a few hours before setting off that it was the last one in the building. However the facilities within were fine, the beds comfortable, sheets changed daily.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location for skiing and town. Lovely staff and great hotel!
Cons: This was a great hotel and I would stay again - to make it perfect I’d rectify the following things as they were a little annoying:- 1) No tea and coffee making facility in the room, then they charged €5 per drink! 2) Very Dim lighting in the bedroom. 3) not a big issue - but too much orange colouring! (Would have been ok if brighter lighting). 4) Boot heating room came on late so had damp boots coming home (despite asking).
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff location
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location next to the gondola, shops and restaurants. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and beds were comfortable.

Pros: My fifth stay. A good hotel in an excellent location adjacent to Tignes le Lac. Comfortable room, an excellent bar, good restaurant and a lovely pool facility. Brilliant views. And friendly staff throughout. Particularly good value in the summer months. I shall be back again next year.
Cons: Those with mobility problems should be aware that the hotel is a five-minute walk uphill from Tignes.
