Pros: The location is great. Also, the staff was very nice, We had a gorgeous view from the balcony. Unfortunately, when we were there, it was too hot to sit out and enjoy it.

Cons: The breakfast was okay.

Pros: Great location. In the midst of the old city, in proximity to parkings, restaurants and shops, few hundred meters from Little France. Helpful and polite staff. Adequate breakfast. Room comfortable and very clean.

Cons: Noisy air-condition and the lift small and very slow.

Pros: great location in a historic building

Cons: the air conditioner failed at 2am, but staff were quick to replace it with a fan. also, we could not access the property or the parking because police closed off all roads to the old city for an event. It took us 90 minutes of driving to find a parking garage close enough to walk to the hotel. This is an unusual circumstance so kind of hard to blame the hotel for it. The front desk did their best to tell us how to get to a nearby parking garage.

Pros: This was the first time that I visited Strasbourg. Without knowing anything about the city, I booked my stay at Hôtel Gutenberg. The location is centrally located The Cathédral Notre Dame de Strasbourg was no more than 150(est) meters away. The part of the city that is located on the island is walkable. There is tram service if one desires. I walked from the train station to the hotel and estimate that it was 15 minutes (I walk fairly quickly). If I return to Strasbourg, I will consider this as my first choice.

Pros: Great location. The staff upgraded my room. Spacious. Clean. Comfortable. Superb.

Pros: Hotel Gutenberg is conveniently situated half a block from Place Gutenberg and two blocks from the Cathedral Square. Not only is the location perfect, it is only a 10 minute walk from the central station (and I mean a real 10 minute stroll from a non walker!) the hotel’s breakfast was varied and plentiful at all hours (even at 10am) and the front desk staff extremely attentive.

Cons: I had a single room on the 4th floor, and the bathroom is quite restrictive but it had an enclosed shower (I hate water getting everywhere) and a very cold AC system ❄️

Clean hotel lobby and room very clean Bathroom very modern and my 10 yr old daughter loved the rain showerhead Has a new renovation feel Staff very nice and helpful as a tour guide ask for the tour map Room size not an issue no its not huge but it wasn't tiny either Ask for parking lot location . Sundays you can park on streets for free overnight if you can find a space that saves $30 Make sure you walk city at sunset it's amazing. I heard the boatride at that time is breathtaking

Pros: Small but interestingly decorated bedroom. Fun lobby. Lovely front desk and restaurant staff.

Cons: Shower flooded the bathroom floor and, if I had not thrown all the towels down, it would have flooded the bedroom as well. They were surely aware of this as the shower head was positioned facing the wall. Once it was turned to focus the water downward, the flooding began. Room 308.

Pros: Beautiful modern decor throughout the hotel lobby, bar and room. It was comfortable and really well located (n.b. it is in pedestrianised part so you can't drive up to it). Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons: There's nothing not to like here.

Pros: The location is unreal, just steps away from the Cathedral.

Cons: Breakfast was basic and on one of the two days we were there, there seemed to be a problem as no staff on duty and even no bread or rolls available.

Pros: Perfect location, a few steps away from the cathedral, restaurants and shops. Friendly staff, modern, large and comfortable rooms. New bathroom and overall clean room. I would stay there again.

Cons: Breakfast was a bit disappointing. No cooked food and not very much choice available. Considering the price of the breakfast, on a next visit, I would definitely consider, taking my breakfast elsewhere.

Pros: Two things only. The location was very good and the staff were good but some of them not professional.

Cons: The maintenance of the premises was very poor. We where three guests in two rooms at level two. When we arrived on the first night in late afternoon, we checked in and our rooms where upgraded by the hotel and where given two rooms at level two. Rooms where very small and no drawers at all in the room. The safe in both two rooms where out of order and did not work. No one even bothered to correct this problem. We where told that this problem was historic. The web site clearly states that the rooms have safety deposit boxes. No fridges in the rooms. Breakfast was very poor. On the the third day the coffee machine packed up and could not have coffee in the morning. The next two days was the same, no coffee. On the the fourth day, the machine that boils the eggs packed up. No one can have any boiled eggs. The fifth day was the same. No eggs on the table as there was no working machine to boil them. The breakfast was the poorest I have seen in my travels around the world. It was feeble and unbelievably poor. My self and my wife paid nearly 1000Euros for 5 nights inclusive of breakfast. I will never go back to this hotel again if I visit Strasbourg once more. This hotel and services should be rated a three Star at best. Never a four star. Although the staff where few numbered, they tried to do their best and were very polite and helpful. I do not have the habit to comment on the the hotels I stay in as they come up to my expectations. But in this case I had to write my above experience through out our stay. I may add that the the other guest in the other room who accompanied us from thousands of miles away shares our findings above.

Pros: Clean. Check in was easy and staff was helpful.

Cons: No air conditioning! We were on the top floor in 90 degree weather and it was like an oven. Hardly slept at all it was intolerable. Also insufficient parking.

Pros: This place was in an ideal location, right near the cathedral. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The room was clean and comfortable.

Cons: It's too bad that there's not more parking on-site, but also not really surprising considering it's smack-dab in the middle of the old town. I parked at a garage near the train station and walked in, and that was fine.

Cons: As cycle tourists our greeting upon arrival was less than welcoming.

Pros: Super Hotel, absolutely well located, really comfortable (double windows to cancel any noise from street among other things). Personal was friendly, helpful and kind. Definitely I'll come back.

Pros: The hotel is on one side of the cathedral square. A book about Maison Kammerzell in the room was interesting. A plus was the kettle and bath. It was reasonably quiet at night. Fifteen minutes walk to train station.

Cons: The main focus is the restaurant. If one accepts that and wants to stay in one of the main historic buildings in Strasbourg then it is a good option. But if you want a hotel room with shampoo and where everything works fine not the best choice. Single rooms are one floor up from the lift. No help offered with suitcase.

Pros: Location right across from cathedral.

Pros: That was probably the smallest hotel room with the tiniest windows I have even stayed in but it was quite charming and cozy and ok for short stay. The hotel location is just perfect for a short city visit and and exploration of the Marché de Nöel.

Cons: The electrical block at the bed headboard was broken and no socket was close to the bed.

Cons: i had the towels changed every day despite me not leaving them on the floor but neetly having them put away in hangers. i found it annoying and to be sincere also quite disconcerting that nowadays a hotel just acts against any basic sustainability criteria.

Pros: Location: Aesthetically, it cannot be beat. The exterior is oozing with charm, and it’s just steps from the cathedral—no exaggeration. It’s convenient for walking around town. Perfect location. Bathroom was a good size. Shower head removable, water temperatures good, water pressure good. Lovely traditional beams, woodwork, painting, etc. Breakfast was a normal, adequate European breakfast.

Cons: Parking: “street parking” is a deceptive description for the parking situation. After I circled the area several times, I called the hotel and asked where the street parking was. They said the Gutenberg parking garage. €40/day is not “street parking”. Anyway, that parking is just down the road, a quick walk (but kind of a pain across cobblestone with suitcases in tow). Noise level: Cathedral bells are right outside. That didn’t bother me, though (I found it charming). What *DID* bother me—greatly—was the noise of clanging bottles being wheeled around and tossed, from the hotel restaurant. It was SO LOUD and went on while I was trying to get to sleep (think: midnight) and before I was ready to wake (think: 0630). I personally would not stay here again, purely because of the loud clanging of bottles. Nope nope nope. Room: tiny (a double) but adequate. The beams (which I love) made the room seem smaller, and I’d imagine that would be more of an issue for a larger person, who would hit their head repeatedly. Bathroom: Beams are Very intrusive at the sink. Even a small person is elbowing beams. NOTE: you had to step over the side of the tub to get into our shower—it was not a walk-in—so if accessibility matters, ask. Elevator: the elevator is tiny.

Pros: The location was great. Right at the Cathedral and Christmas Market. Easy walking to everything.

Pros: Room very small and inconvenient. Really not a hotel but huge restaurant with 9 attic rooms. Can only get within 2 long blocks by taxi.

Pros: The room was clean & new condition, tasteful. They brought an electric kettle to our room upon request. Great location near Place Gutenberg. Lots of restaurants, safe neighborhood.

Cons: Parking lot was poorly lit & had extremely tight spaces., but was very close to hotel. There was no one to greet us when we arrived. There is no front desk. It is self-service checkin. Receptionist runs the restaurant and was rarely seen.

Pros: The rooms were ok. Air conditioning worked well, and even tho the hotel is located pretty central, it was not loud at all.

Cons: Checking in experience was horrible!!!!! Reception is closed 3pm-6pm, which wasn’t marked nowhere! Also, after I called (nobody answered OR called me back ever!) I found out through the answering machine that there should be a code being sent to my phone and email. I did not receive a text and for the email- I checked spam and found and email that was not readable. I am not exaggerating when I say NOBODY would have been able to read this email. Since I then knew there was a code probably hidden within this email, I had to solve it like a riddle. (Photos of E-Mail in folder “property photos” Also, later that night when we eventually met somebody at the property, we asked for breakfast for the next morning. The next morning (breakfast times 7.40-10am) we tried to enter the restaurant, but it was closed. No staff, no breakfast, no note -nothing. So all together I was just upset most of the time. We were traveling with 8 Persons and had 3 rooms. Sad we made such a bad experience in this beautiful city.

Pros: The location is probably the top bonus of this guest house, on a small street right in the historic centre. Easily accessible from the railway station by tram, and with the city centre just outside the door and round the corner. The guest house is over a restaurant run by the same people, and there are many other restaurants in the area. The room was very comfortable, clean and well-appointed, with a modern bathroom. I slept well.

Cons: Nothing really. It was all fine.

Pros: Hotel is right in the center of old town...200 metres away from cathedral. Location doesnt get any better than this. 15 minute walk from train station and 15 minute walk from Flix bus station.

Cons: I stayed at the single room in 3rd floor. Room was reminiscent of a dormitory room...really small but enough for me. There is no elevator so if you are staying on a higher floor and have heavy bags it could be an issue. There was no hanger in the bathroom to hang the bathroom towel and that was really frustrating. Staff absent from 3-6pm and after 10.00pm and all day Sunday. You enter the property using a code.

Pros: The staffs were nice and kind. They watched over our luggage after the check-out and kindly printed our boarding passes for free.

Pros: A cosy and calm hotel in one of the most lively pedestrian streets of Strasbourg's historical centre: Hotel des Tonneliers is a great base for exploring the town with an excellent value for money!

Pros: Very convenient location. The room was quiet despite being on the road immediately behind the cathedral. The room was small, more suitable for a single traveller than a couple, but good value for the cost.

Cons: Check in was from 3pm however nobody from the Hotel was present in reception or contactable by phone until 4.15pm so a number of guests were left waiting in the lobby for this time.

Pros: Very good value for money as it was a low price for a single room and right in the centre of town. It was clean. The location was fantastic!

Cons: The sheets and towels are changed each day with no option/door hanger to opt out, which is not good for the environment. I hope they will change this policy soon. None of these things was a problem for me, but worth noting the following 3 things: - Room was a small attic room with low ceiling (so not good if you are very tall). - The central position with glimpse of the Cathedral also mean you are near the bells which start at 7am, so no good if you like to sleep in. - The cheap single rooms are at the top floor and there is no lift, (I think it was about 4 floors up).

Pros: Location is great, but it's the only positive point. It's close to the cathedral and everything is at walkable distance.

Cons: The room is super small, the moquette is dirty with disgusting spots and old crumbs. It's impossible to take a shower without flooding the bathroom and we had almost no toilet paper. The reception is open at weird times and the check out is way too early

Pros: The hotel is located centrally, just a few steps from the main point of interest. The room was cosy, just enough for one person. Bed linen and towels were clean.

Cons: The room was in the attic, the staircase a bit tight. I suppose it can be very hot in the summer - no air condtioning in the room. It did not bother me, but as the cathedral is just a few steps away, you might weak up to the bells from the church in the morning. The carpet is a bit worn, the shower tray suspicious of mildew.

Pros: : Excellent location. I don't think there is any other affordable hotel any closer to city center than this place. : Late check-in procedures were clear and easy. Reception closes at 19:00, and I was a bit worried of arriving around 21:30, but the procedures to get in / check-in / get into the room were clear and easy (; by mail from hotel). : 3~4 large public parking facilities within 3~10 min walking.

Cons: : Walls are thin and it might get noisy if other guests are partying loud. It was totally okay during my stay.
