There are a number of beach resorts on the island including Tropical Beach and Captiva Beach Resort. Most are just a brief walk from either Crescent, Turtle or Siesta Beaches. From these locations you can easily catch the free trolley or walk to numerous shops, restaurants, grocery stores and gourmet food shops.
Fresh caught seafood is easy to find throughout the island. This includes fish tacos, clams, oysters and sushi. If you want to enjoy upscale dining, you’ll find it at a couple of Siesta Key hotels including the Hyatt Siesta Key Beach and Tropical Beach Resort.
If you can pull yourself away from the sandy beaches of Siesta Key, there is a really nice indoor shopping mall in the area. Called Westfield, it is home to numerous clothing, jewelry and houseware stores including Chico, Jewelers Gallery and Art Avenue. You can lodge within minutes of the mall at Turtle Beach Resort, the Best Western Plus and Twin Palms at Siesta.
Most tourists flying into Siesta Key arrive at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. Siesta Key, Florida is only a 15-minute drive from Sarasota. Consequently, several hotels provide a shuttle from the airport to the island including the Best Western Plus, Hyatt Regency and the Hampton Inn at the airport.
