This is a true Japanese style large hotel (sleeps about 3000 or maybe more) with all the amenities you need (which is a must as the town is tiny has has virtually nothing). Though it's a old building the hotel is in good condition though a little bit old school in fixtures, fittings and has wonderful grand (and somewhat distasteful) decor and furniture! It is worth the stay but not at the price of ¥35,000 (usd ($300) you'd get much more value, service and comfort for that price anywhere else in the world! In saying this, we had a lovely stay there and enjoyed our time away from the city deep in the lush mountains of Hokkaido. Room: Large & spacious size, very clean, comfortable floor futon bed & pillows ever! Large windows that actually open which is nice. Bathroom: Small but good enough- the bath doesn't fit anyone larger than a small child! Location: Beautifully set in the mountains of Hokkaido- about 1 hour from Sapporo city. However the town is pretty much non existent with only a couple of convenience stores and couple of restaurants to choose from. It really is just a typical Japanese onset town with large hotels. Wifi: Excellent Breakfast/ Dinner: The buffet breakfast is good (not great) and has a simple offering for western taste and Japanese dishes and some cereals. Dinner buffet has a good array of low- medium quality food- the best part is that its a buffet and is all you can eat- which is what you'd expect for the quality. They did offer salty crab legs and good tasting cheap sushi along with a lot of fried food, salad bar and lovely treats for desert. Other stuff: Swimming pool was a lot of fun, water slides, water cannons, large area, a large lag that you can float around on large inflatable toys, great for kids and families and just overall a fun place to play! OTHER FACILITIES: the hotel has a few fun bars, and drinking spots with karaoke and private rooms you can book out.

Staff: I was a bit bemused by the staff- though they offer good Japanese hospitality the staff were average and disappointing- Front Desk staff did not read any of the pre- booking requests and didn't even acknowledge them upon check in- lack of attention to detail and truthfully lack of care. The dining staff were all very young and made up mostly of interns or trainees studying hospitality - they were not very confident, didn't have big smiles and had no personality. There was NO english speaking staff at all- and when we asked to speak to someone in English to share our concerns - no one could help us, nor did they seem to care that no-one could help us. I really wanted to provide feedback directly to the hotel and give them an opportunity to explain before I wrote a public review. I understand we are in Japan and do not expect English, however when I booked the website clearly said we can make requests in English (which was obviously not the case) I have written three emails to the hotel to ask for feedback and explanation as to some of my gripes, however one week later and have still NOT had any reply. ONSEN: There are a few onsens to choose from however all seemed quit small considering the large size of the hotel, the outdoor rooftop insane is tiny with no view and a big disappointment.
