Cons: The rooms are not cheap and, for the price, things are a little 'tired' compared to an equivalently-priced hotel in Asia or North America. The lounge is excellent with the exception of the computers, which are slow (if they work at all). There are more reasonably priced places in the same area, but it is still a great hotel, so if you want a bit more luxury/a few more facilities and are prepared to pay for it, this could be your place!

The breakfast is very elegant, served in a delightful space and everything that was served was absolutely delicious.
The staff was super attentive, cordial, friendly and very knowledgeable.

The noise so loud when room above turned on their shower (at 130am !!!) woke me like an alarm clock disoriented and disturbed. Then again at 830am!!! Not good enough for what is supposed to be one of the premier hotels in SP. I guess as an entry level room they don’t care if their overseas visitors stay in this room. Ok they said when I complained, next time you stay we won’t put you in that room . What a joke!!

Cons: I loved everything except when a manager told me I couldn’t take photos in the lobby bar. It’s a public bar and I am a blogger so that really bothered me. I travel to luxury destinations all over the world staying in the best hotels and as long as the photos are not being used for commercial use nobody should ever have a problem with it. His reasoning was to conceal identity of other guests but there were no other guests in the photo I’m not an idiot

Cons: For a 5 stars hotels, surprisingly no option to make a booking with breakfast included despite the rate is about US$500 and up per night, and if you wish to have breakfast in the hotel it costs around US$34 !!?? Second thing we didn't like, if you go to the bar of the hotel and there is live music, then there will be charged of R$60/person as artistic fee, so half of our invoice was this fee !!!?? Then you go to the room, and you'll not find tooth brush nor hair comb, which are essential amenities!! Although you can ask it from house keeping, we asked 2 tooth brush and we got one and hair comb was not available. In the room there is nespresso machine, however it's not complementary, charge on each coffee capsule R$11 + service 15% !!!!??? So in total it's over priced hotel and should be much much better in return of what's been paid

Cons: The service is a bit shambolic, the swimming pool is tiny, the food in the Jazz bar is poor (the jazz is good). Breakfast is a bit disappointing for a 5* hotel, The (virtually new) decor is intended to look like it is from the 1950s but to my eyes just looked gloomy and old fashioned. It's expensive for what you get.

Cons: I thought the value for how much I paid was extremely poor. The Fasano is incredible cheap insofar that they do not give the customer the value of what they paid in amentities and courtesies. I find it irresponsible that I should have pay for coffee pods in my room, for breakfast and for any little thing that they can catch you on. That shows me that they are unwilling to open their hand as much as I did when I paid an exboritant price to stay here. It’s unfortunate and to tell you the truth I will dissuade others from staying here because of that.

Cons: The internet service is extremely slow, unstable (drops on an off).
I had to find a virtual office elsewhere for a very important conference call.
I had some other calls at the hotel where the client had to call me at the hotel and another one where they heard most but not all that I was saying.
I called before booking the hotel and they told me they had made improvements 2 weeks ago. When I experienced problems and questioned the staff, they told me that they just added access points but no improvements were mad about speed (extremely slow), not could they control the stability of the internet (dropped connection).
I should mention that even at the virtual office I had problems and had to make a call using international data roaming on my cell phone due to internet problems there too.

Greasy chairs and tables, unclean knifes and forks, re-used paper placemats etc. Tip: when you have so many staff walking around in the breakfast area, how about you let them clean the tables and chairs once in a while - and replace the paper placemats after a guest leaves. 2. Fine rooms, although the beds are too short for us tall northern Europeans - and the feet dangling outside of the bed is not really comfortable. Tip: make sure you have a few beds with longer mattresses available for tall guests! Furthermore: noisy! Both the AC and the street (many bars with outside terraces) noise (although we were on a high floor) was intense.

The room we had (executive suite) was big enough for 2 parents, 2 children, and had a bath. We slept well. The main bed was comfortable. The bath / shower worked well. Cons: The sofa bed was sagging and wouldn't have supported an adult (but served OK for our little 3 year old). The attendant who setup the sofa bed told us it is due for replacement. The TV in our room had poor reception (fuzzy) and was on a swivel - that kept swivelling. The other room we had booked (for the grandparents) did not have that problem. The breakfast wasn't quite as good as the previous hotels we've stayed at during this same travel: it's a huge breakfast room with which it is hard to achieve the same cosiness as with more boutique hotels. I guess it does have to efficiently process hundreds and hundreds of guests. However we also had to chase around to get cutlery. There was a pair of men's underwear just under the bed, so the cleaning of that room can't have been too thorough.

The reception staff used to be really friendly; now they're moody. The place now has fortress-like security, a bit off-putting if you'd like to have guests over. The street is very residential/dead at night/have to take Ubers. I think the Pergamon Suites is a better option for those looking to be closer to Frei Caneca street where all the action happens

Cons: I called earlier the previous day to ask for an early entry (just to have a shower) as I was travelling 700km by road through the night, and had to attend a meeting in the mid- morning. The front desk said it was possible for a further R$160. I agreed and requested to go ahead. However, when I arrived I was told it was not possible as there were no rooms. A plan was eventually made, yet it is a pity the communication was poor.

Large double beds advertised are actually two single beds stuck together with a hole in the middle. The bathtubs are tiny, so don't fall for the pictures.
