Pros: My boyfriend and I absolutely loved everything
Cons: There is nothing we didn’t like
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Casa Amerelindo was a splendid stay in Salvador. You are in the center of the most charming part of Pelourinho. It's like having front row seats to your anticipated show, outing, etc. Situated on a lovely street, with cute little shops, close to the square, to great restaurants and access to live music all day long. The staff were pros, kind and very attentive. As a solo traveler I felt at ease, very welcome and enjoyed my room. Highly recommend this part of town if you like being in the heart of things. And great breakfast!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel has the perfect location to historic landmarks in the Pelourinho area , great restaurants , nightlife , souvenir stores . Most friendly staff & owner that go beyond to meet our needs , we felt so pampered , & felt safe throughout our stay . Beautiful, very clean hotel with the balcony terrace .
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: I had the pleasure of saying at this lovely hotel for 3 nights in early October 2019 at the total cost of around R$1750, including breakfast. I had a lovely bay-facing room which was beautifully appointed and spacious, and contained a huge, double king-size bed - a little strange to get used to. Excellent bathroom facilities, with various shower options, a double sink and bidet, with generous quality linen. The hotel is beautifully decorated in all respects. It is very well situated just off the main square of Pelourinho, overlooking the beautiful bay, within easy walking distance of most sights in that part of the city. The hotel has a small but delightful pool. Breakfasts were served by hand in the lovely restaurant, the only one which I experienced as a non-buffet, with large poritons of fruit, breads, juices, eggs and cakes. I had dinner one night at the hotel which was very good; there is an extensive and unusual menu, very reasonably priced.
Cons: The staff were in general very helpful and friendly - and ubiquitous, perhaps overly so as there were often more than the required number of people (sometimes 3 or 4) at reception - for some reason. I met Didier, and his partner, the owners, upon arrival, and the check-in was fast and efficient; with a free drink given on the lovely roof top terrace. There was unfortunately, toward the end of my stay, one major indiscretion committed by the staff in my case. I will not recount the details here in the hope that it was a once-off offence. The hotel management is free to ask me more about this if it wishes to do so (slon@law.co.za). This is the only reason that I am not awarding the full 10/10 to this establishment.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff, great restaurant and facilities. The swimming pool area is really peaceful and great to head to for a few hours after you've explored the city. The hotel is also in a great location and on the doorstep of the old town.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The history of the house and its location are remarkable. The breakfast is really good and the staff truly makes you feel at home
Cons: The wifi could work better
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Some hotels just get it absolutely right. This is one of them. In all the time I've reviewed hotels on booking.com I've only ever awarded ten twice. This is the third. This hotel is a labour of love. Meticulously refurbished building with style throughout, from the names of the rooms after Portuguese colonies, the pieces of furniture, the decor, the small indoor courtyard for breakfast, the breakfast itself (wow, the tapioca, the papaya, the eggs), the engagement, friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff, the perfectly-formed small roof terrace, the location in the heart of the colonial area of Salvador, I could go on. This hotel was a pleasure to stay in and it's not that expensive either. Just stay here!
Cons: It was all wonderful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a boutique hotel, located at the main street of the Pelourinho (the old center of Bahia); we were there as in the colonial time (the doors, the floors, the stairs, the decoration, etc). The restaurant is small but excellent: gourmet meals and the best of all: the caipirinhas (the typical brazilian alcoholic drink). The staff was very friendly. Everything fine.
Cons: Everything was fine.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was great. I loved the woman in charge of it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and charming hotel, great view from roof terrace, excellent location, fabulous breakfast
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing Location, hotel with a lot of charm! Loved the private balcony with the hammock. The staff kindly offered to switch our room for a bigger one since we were traveling with a baby, but that room with the balcony was sooo perfect! You can hear music from everywhere, especially during the weekend. We personally enjoyed hearing music from our balcony but be aware it might be noisy. Great breakfast, very tasty with a beautiful set up! Friendly staff, reception staff spoke many languages, including french and english. I would definitely recommend the hotel for couples, families, friends..
Cons: It was missing some plugs in the room, we had to unplug the bedside lamps to charge our cameras/phones, and that wasn't very convenient. wished they had a menu for the breakfast, especially since the staff doesn't really speak english
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Unique Hotel in the historic center of Salvador. It’s a good starting point to discover the city. If you take a taxi or an Uber other places like Barra are also not too far. Staff is super friendly, rooms are huge and food is good!
Cons: Because it’s at the touristic center it can get a bit loud in the rooms from the noise outside, but it’s not too bad.

Pros: Very comfortable and nice. New rooms !
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It did it’s job.
Cons: Too much meat and heavy food. Very little emphasis on fresh vegetables and fresh ingredients. Far too unhealthy overall.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The best hotel in Salvador. I can not give one negative point. The renovation was perfect done
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and facilities are great. The Hotel has something for everyone, especially families.
7,1 Good
Pros: Beautiful pool area and garden. Polite staff. We were allowed a very early check in.
Cons: The first room we got had a weird smell and we asked to change, the second room was better but still had some weird smell. The hotel is a bit old and apart from the pool area it doesnt look like a 5 star hotel but a very average 4 star. Breakfast is the same eveey day, i would expect some changes from a hotel branded as a 5 star. Itapua is not the nicest area to stay.

5,4 Okay
Pros: The staff is very helpful and friendly and the hotel is charming.
Cons: The property is in Pelhourinho which is beautiful, but not safe. There’s a lot of police around, but this does not prevent unpleasant accidents from happening...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely hotel right in the old part of Salvador. The hotel has a very authentic look but at the same time has all the facilities you expect from a good hotel
Cons: My room was on the top floor meaning it had perfect views but I found the stairs a bit trying.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is gorgeous, clean and unique. There is no mimics here and nothing too try hard. The breakfast was fantastic..so good we never eat lunch during our stay in Salvador. The rooms have aircon and a fan so sleeping at night was easy. Comfy big bed and beautiful wooden shutters onto the juliet balcony. Felt very safe within the hotel as the staff are on reception 24hrs (despite feeling safe throughout Brazil anyway). Cannot recommend this hotel enough!
Cons: There was nothing my partner and I didn't like.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful stuff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: If you want to stay in the old city of Salvador, in the middle of buildings of the colonial Brazil, this is the perfect place. The hotel is in an old building but totally renovated with clean and cozy rooms. We liked a lot.
Cons: Need to have attention in the hotel surroundings at night, specially after 11pm. But you will be fine, just need to take some extra care.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect and the rooms are nice and with a good view.
Cons: The only thing that I didn't like was that was no hot water in the bathroom. I don't know if it's like this always or there was some problems, but nobody explained us anything about It.

Pros: Nice and comfy rooms with a beautiful view of the historic center, breakfast was good, staff helpful, we felt secure, would stay here again

6,0 Good
Pros: I loved the breakfast. Plentiful and diverse, with different dishes every day. The staff was attentive and answered all my questions. Finally, the social areas (swimming pool in particular) were big and welcoming.
Cons: The complex in itself seems old-fashioned. The rooms have the typical 80's architecture, and it has not been renovated in a long time. The control panel (that other reviewers like) was pretty annoying with the light during the night. While I was there, the complex was in the process of repainting some of the areas, which means that some parts were a bit difficult to access. These were not major issues, yet they do weight when I get a top-tier hotel.
7,1 Good
Pros: Pool and food
Cons: Staff, hotel is old
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms and very good breakfast.
7,1 Good
Pros: Good value for money, but also too cheap to be true. Nice breakfast Good view Big room
Cons: Super outdated, zero investment in the renovation Cleanliness is not perfect
7,9 Good
Pros: The breakfast is regional and with good variety. The staff is friendly.
Cons: The check-in is too bureaucratic. I'd prefer fill my data by my own, instead of answer questions. The hotel is nice, but need a modernization. The things seems a bit run down. The bed could be king size, the double bed it's just too small.
5,0 Okay
Cons: bugs everywhere
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Piscina, breakfast and employees
Cons: Tudo otimo
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and the pool are excellent, the panel at the bedside to control the lights, sound and aircon was a bonus
Cons: The taxis at the hotel are too expensive, we just used uber
5,0 Okay
Cons: They were fruit bugs everywhere the two time I stayed there

Pros: Great location, safe, many restaurants within walking distance, great views, nice pool and gym. Great breakfast! One of the best we have had in our many trips to Brazil
Cons: No complaints
5,0 Okay
Pros: The staff was excellent (super friendly) There was real natural fruit juice in the morning made by Mauricio . You could order certain foods 24 hr and have it delivered to your room.
Cons: Nothing against the hotel but against the restaurants among the vicinity - I ate in one of the restaurants and suffered food poisoning. I recommend everyone to eat in the hotel and avoid eating at local eateries

Cons: Access to the beach but can’t really swim there

Pros: Super clean and great staff. Amazing pool.
Cons: A shame that there was no drinking water provided in the rooms and the bathroom is fine but starting to look a bit old
6,7 Good
Pros: The view was wonderful
Cons: Wallpaper was peeling loose. HDMI cable from cable box to TV input was faulty. Lost the signal until I pushed the cable into the connector. If you bumped the TV, it would lose the signal again. Room telephone had no dialtone. My room key was incorrectly programmed one day too early for checkout. Had to return to lobby to reprogram.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location was terrific.
Cons: The room phone had terrible connection.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was super nice, courteous and showing the best spirit of the famous Bahia's hospitality. The breakfast was superb, great variety and new options every day. Room is very spacious. Nice touch at check-in with a personalised card and typical sweets.
Cons: Nothing. Had a small issue communicated to the management and a solution was immediately offered. It is a family business and that's great, they have the power and independency to directly solve any issues. Corridors and bathroom/showerhead are a bit outdated, but hotel is undergoing a refurbishment.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Food staff very clean
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and right on the beach in the Barra neighborhood. Within easy walking distance of lots of shops, restaurants, the mall and a supermarket. We had a spectacular view of the beach and the lighthouse from our balcony. Breakfast each morning had a ton of options and was delicious. Staff really went above and beyond for customer service - one of our bags never made it to our destination and was stuck in the São Paulo airport, and staff helped us call the airlines multiple times to figure out the situation. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Cons: WIFI did not work, even changing to a different room on another floor.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was small but very nice and extremely clean. The service was excellent. I really enjoyed the restaurants.
Cons: My room was two levels with the circular stair which was a little awkward. But not bad. The lighting sometimes was not working well in the hallways. But otherwise it was a very nice day.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Maeby a little more variety at breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All ... love all .. the restaurant , the staffs , all was perfect! Deff i will be back again! Amazing place near flamengo beach, in itapua tive tardes maravilhosas !
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: As we were 2 travelling, the first room we got was terrible with absolutely no space for opening suitcases and almost no lighting but the staff were amazing and managed to get us another room a day later. So kudos to staff that try make your stay better. The beds were very comfortable, the mini bar has a good variety if you're into that. The pool was nice but very small. The beach right across is just beautiful. There is a lady giving massages by the pool but be ready to pay. No other form of spa was available.
Cons: Breakfast was more basic than expected given the stars rating of the hotel (we had just stayed in another one with less stars and the breakfast was better), but it was ok enough. Make sure you ask for fresh made eggs and they will try for you. The fried ones on the buffet were usually cold and the scrambled overcooked (green). The second pool can only be used during a very limited time in the day, so if you want to swim away from kids etc you don't have a choice. Not sure why they would build a pool in front of the restaurant that u can only use for about 4hrs a day (8am-12noon). The area really isn't very safe so if you are looking to go for walks don't choose the area or to try out restaurants nearby you need always taxi or Uber.
7,1 Good
Pros: gentleness
Cons: the correct price should be a maximum of € 45
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Total service we received was good
Cons: N/a

Pros: It’s a charming place with AC in the bedrooms and and excellent breakfast. All staffing is great! We had a wonderful time in the property. All guest were very friendly and the property is a few minutes (walking distance) from the main area in Itapua. The lighthouse in Itapua is a must-see. Less than 5 minutes walk on the beach.
Cons: Although the property is located in shore the beach was not in a good condition to stay there or swimming. The ocean was bringing to the shore a lot of seaweeds... the smell was a bit strong. It was not the property fault, though. It was a natural phenomenon.

Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location is close to Pelourinho, safe to walk by day but not in evening. Breakfast is not included as in most Brazilian hotels and it is expensive but it is very good (waiter Silvano went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable as I was not feeling well). One of the concierges (red hair) was outstanding and also went out of his way to give information about the area, restaurants, etc. He also made sure in the last day, an addition to our stay, we were not moved. We were upgraded to a suite. Swimming pool and staff at swimming pool, excellent. Air conditioning worked very well (not the norm in other hotels). Hotel provides plenty of bottled water.
Cons: Breakfast should be included given price range for rooms, well above anything in Salvador. Coffee in room is charged, it should not. Check in experience was rocky as we were given a second floor room and I had explicitly requested a high floor room. After being taken to this room, waited 15 minutes or so, we were upgraded to a suite in the 6th floor and that was very comfortable. We added a 5th day to our stay and were told to pack our bags as we were going to be moved to a smaller room but intervention by concierge (red hair) avoided this move and we were left in the same room. Too bad that they did not do this in the first place as we were forced to pack in advanced for this move.

Pros: Cozy B&B in the very heart of the old town. Very kind and helping people at the reception desk and very clean place. Due to its ocation can be a bit noisy in the evening but noise decreases at around 10pm. Highly recommend this place for your stay in Salvador!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: You get what you pay for here, this place is expensive, but what you get is a beautiful hotel, with large spacious rooms, perfectly decorated. The staff are very helpful and attentive breakfast is great. I loved the location, its central to everything however, if you like the quiet, this isn't the hotel for you. The square is lively with tourists and musicians until late and similarly can start getting busy in the early morning. But there's nothing better than to sit with the balcony windows open, overlooking the square with a beer in your hand, taking it all in.
Cons: Nothing!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff were helpful
Cons: It can get noisy in the evenings
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent for walking around Pelourinho. The house itself is tastefully decorated. The staff are all very kind.
Cons: The wood floor is beatiful to look, but doesn't have no sound proof function. You can hear all the noise that other guests make.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: Great location!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast, fantastic location, highly recommended
10,0 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful experience, the staff were exceptional, very welcoming, friendly & helpful throughout. The rooms were exquisite, large & comfortable. Breakfast in the room was delicious & person centred, it was another extra special touch.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The place is wonderful for what concerns the location and the rooms which were very nicely decorated with wonderful balconies over Largo San Francisco. All the structure has a retro atmosphere that is somehow magic. The staff was superkind and Senora Sandra adds happiness and joy to your stay. If we will return one day in Salvador we will surely come back here!!!

Pros: Beautiful hotel with extremely friendly staff that go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The breakfast was very good and provided a nice taste of fresh Brazilian food. Could not recommend this hotel more!
Cons: Nothing negative to say!
1,0 Poor
Cons: The first room had people on the terrace (because the room is actually 3 meters from the pool on the same level) !!! Second room on the very loud street
9,6 Excellent
Pros: All of the staffs are very freindly and very, very kind to us. They are supporting each other to provide the guests with their best services.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast
Cons: Very difficult to fault but if I was to nitpick maybe a stronger filter for the pools to help keep the bugs under control.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast. Staff really adorable and available at all times. Share their experience and advise on where to hang out in the city.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Just a short walk from the historic city centre, this is a real boutique hotel find. It’s tiny and cozy, staff are very charming. Breakfast is fantastic! The old city is tired but beautiful, very vibrant with lots of music and dancing (at the weekend at least), bars and restaurants to hang out in. Apparently it is not that safe at night but during the day and weekend evenings it was fine for us with teenagers and sticking together
Cons: Naughty Aram recommended a bit of a duff restaurant so lesson learned - just use the so called internet...! Still I don’t blame them and definitely this place is a find
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast TOP, suite very lovely
Cons: Too much noise from the Port
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Staff was super helpful. Breakfast, room, pool were excellent. We extended our trip and stayed one more night.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: this accomodation is an experience! Wonderfully made inside of an old & Beautiful convento! comfortable and clean Rooms with the largest bed we have ever seen! good and delicious breakfast. very friendly and helpful staff (we arrived very late at night, around 2.a.m because of a delay from our flight, but the personal at the reception was patiently waiting for us and checked us in without any problems - thank you for that!), location fits perfectly in the historical centre. highly recommended, we extended our stay there and also would book it again if we return to Salvador one day.
Cons: Nothing to unlike there
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel in a monastery from the 1500s. Rooms are big, with thick walls that keep the heat away. The gardens are an oasis of peace and there are 2 very good restaurants right next door. Reception staff are very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant.
Cons: The pillows and duvets are old and visibly dirty.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Food was fine. Staff was attentive and smiling
Cons: Front desk seemed awfully busy doing other things except smile........ Not including Luis, and the other young man though.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location but even more importantly is the history. Beautiful building, beautiful antique furniture and decorations. Rooms are comfortable and spacious.
Cons: Need to invest in new towels. Mattress was old and soft.
6,3 Good
Pros: While good location and Unique setting (former convent) it seems to be getting a little run down. Staff was ok but not particularly proactive. Breakfast was dissapointing
Cons: See above

7,9 Good
Pros: location and price
Cons: Rooms are very old, tv is very small
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing about this place was good...
Cons: The towels stank.. the room service was horrible.. the room smell bad. The bed was the worst, they put two single beds together and called it a queen, but it kept splitting apart.. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE.....
6,7 Good
Pros: The view, the attendance was ok too, breakfast was good and variate.
Cons: The male toilet at the pier was disgusting, The aircon setup buttons on the wall were not working properly. The bed wasn't firm and made heaps of noise when I was in a moment with my partner.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: the beach area was a lot of fun. the hotel is located in a safe area. the people and staff are very nice. great place to stay with kids.
Cons: the wifi is not good.
5,4 Okay
Pros: We arrived at the time of the carnival and therefore the entire street was secured by the police and felt safe. The descent to the sea by an indoor cable car and the bathing area is very nice. The beachfront restaurant is also very good.
Cons: The fact that despite the high price must pay for internet in the rooms. The double bed is made up of two single beds and therefore not comfortable for a couple's sleep. The safe is broken. The air conditioner was old and did not work well, so we managed to change rooms, and that was after a day and a half wait
5,8 Okay
Pros: The hotel has everything going for it except cleanliness.
Cons: Extremely dirty. The pool had plastic bags in it. Nothing appeared to have been cleaned in a long time. If it were clean this would be a great place to stay. It’s a great pity.
7,5 Good
Pros: Great view!
Cons: It needs an update.
4,2 Okay
Pros: Nothing other than location.
Cons: It was like walking in to the 60's as nothing has been replaced or maintained properly. Rooms and common areas not clean. Expect more for the amount you pay.
