Really terrible. It wasn’t made clear that Routes only rent cars to people flying straight in and out of O’Hare, and we were on an extended stay. I’ve never known an arrangement like that. The site is off airport, so had paid to take an Uber there. They tried to charge an extra $10 to drive to Wisconsin. Staff rude and unhelpful, luckily National was able to provide us a deal for the same price, with very friendly and speedy service from the central car hire terminal. I was unable to reach Kayak, no customer service available, no value added.Reviewed Mar 31 2024

Not much to like. Shuttle took over an hour to pick us up at the airport and when we finally arrived at the off-site location, the agent informed me that our reservation had been cancelled and we needed to rebook through kayak. When I tried to rebook, the daily Rental rate was $358/day vice $37/day when I originally made the reservation. We returned to the airport and used a different rental company.Reviewed Mar 15 2024

They sent a text 2 days prior saying I had to be from out of town, with proof of airline ticket. The was not indicated anywhere in purchase process prior. So I just found out right before the need that I had to make another booking somewhere else.Reviewed Nov 16 2023

Horrendous. Rudest and most unhelpful customer service I’ve experienced in my life. Paid in full when I booked through Kayak, there was zero statement or knowledge about a requirement to have an itinerary in and out of O’hare in order to book. 2 weeks later I’m still trying to recoup several hundred dollars. The folks at the desk that barely spoke to me were beyond rude, disrespectful, and couldn’t care less that I had no vehicle. Do NOT ever use this rental car agency.Reviewed Sep 15 2023

I never got in a car. The staff was extremely rude and agitated and the car they had available had expired plates. I had to go through my bank for a refund because booking.com refused to refund me. Most terrible car rental experience ever.Reviewed Jun 16 2023
