Pros: The room was beautiful, the Bed was very comfy and the room silent and dark for a great night's sleep. Lovely bathroom too. The pool and bar area were both beautiful and we very much enjoyed spending time in both. The hotel is a stunning building in a fantastic location. The cocktails were a little pricey in the hotel bar but with such a fantastic pianist playing and such gorgeous surroundings, it's a price worth paying. One of our favourite ever hotel experiences. We loved Rouen and will definitely be coming back to this hotel.

Cons: The GPS couldn't find the hotel. We used a car park while searching on foot for the hotel, which turned out to be closer to the entrance than the hotel's own parking. The entrance to our room was from a court yard through a turret with seriously worn steps. An open yard had to be crossed in all weathers to enter the hotel. The windows of the room were at street level; pedestrians could look into both the room and bathroom.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, bringing water for our dog. The beds were very comfortable and the spa and pool area lovely.
Cons: The air conditioning in our room made a terrible screechy noise. In my sons room the air conditioning went off half way through the night and he couldn’t get it to work after that. Couldn’t open windows, so room was very hot. Disappointed that receptionist didn’t know if we could take dog into breakfast with us and didn’t offer to find out.

Cons: We waited more from breakfast, honestly. Coffee only from the hot pot or espresso, no Cappuccino at all. It's a bit noisy at night outside but you can ask for other room.

Cons: Parking lot was very tight with sharp 90 degree turns in small space. The keypad was at the top of a incline to exit lot. It took us 30 minutes to maneuver and get our rental car out of the lot on exit without scratching or denting the car. City center has bollard posts to enter center that require either a code or to pull up very close to retract the bollard.

Cons: Worst hotel ever to get to with barriers around the city. We had been give a code to use barrier but hadn't been told how many barriers there were in the city and therefore we arrived at one that didn't have a keypad so I pressed the help button but couldn't speak enough French to get help, we held up the whole city center traffic. After 2 hours of driving around we just parked in another car park and used google maps to walk to hotel. As we were only staying one night we didn't have anytime left to explore. We will return to Rouen but find a hotel easier to get to.

Cons: How dated and tired looking the entire building was. And the room itself was very mouldy and dirty and smelt of damp. The floor was never properly vacuumed as my feet were covered in dust and dirt when I entered the shower, the water turned brown as soon as water hit my feet! The balcony room we were given was completely filthy with dirt covering every inch of the surface. They placed two broken chairs there for what reason I have no idea. And the sliding doors were broken as well so it was a security issue for me as I couldn't lock the doors at all, despite the hotel manager reassured me it's not a problem. Would never return to it, the photos were terribly deceiving. This place needs a good scrub and facelift to survive in the hotel business 2019!

Pros: Breakfast was good, but cost E16 per adult. On top of a fairly expensive room we felt this was a lot. Parking in their car park was a further E12 if used. Convenient for city and for riverside restaurants.
Cons: The toilet was like one on an airplane or boat, a tiny pod in which you could not move! All very impersonal and we would not use again.

Pros: Very little. This is only slightly above IBIS in quality and had several of the same design items in the rooms as IBIS Budget.
Cons: The profile says "parking" - in reality the hotel only has 20 spaces, and those are almost always full we were told. The counter staff told us and the next three customers who showed up while we were checking in "find your own space on the street" -- which in Rouen is both very hard, and far to likely to have your morning start with a new dent in the car.
The room we were given was 1/2 the size of the photo. Really amazing how it looked sort of the same layout...but was so cramped we couldn't move around. The bed's weren't the same size as in the profile.
When we showed the counter manager the photo and description differences with the promised room and the reality, the response was "I don't write what is on the websites, so can't help you."
Very much a vacation fail.

Cons: The hotel was clean, but was looking dated and the rooms were a strange decor that did not make it welcoming. Also dogs are welcome in the hotel, or seem to be and could smell dog, which as a dog owner is not a massive issue, but could be for others. The breakfast was poor and the hot food especially poor and cold. The breakfast area was too small for the amount of people staying. The hotel is supposed to be four star and is way overpriced and have stayed in two star hotels that are far superior.

We ended up going to a parking next door, thinking it was the available parking, and paying for that before moving to the hotel car park. There was a machine in the room, making a funny smell. I think it might have been a dehumidifier, but there was no explanation of what it was and it was very loud when trying to get to sleep as it kept stopping and starting No safe in the room, which I would have expected.

Cons: We’ve stayed at this hotel lots of times when travelling back to U.K. on all the different floors with no problems, this time although the room was comfortable it had a sloping ceiling which my husband kept hitting his head getting in and out of bed so no more 4th floor for us!

Cons: The decor was dark, dated and tatty with Napoleon as the theme apparently. We booked a double and triple room. The double room was decorated in what can only be described as padded cell wall paper which was peeling off in several places. The paint in the balcony was peeling and the table lamp didn’t work. The bed was listed as a double bed but was actually 2 singles pushed together, although it was comfortable. The triple room bathroom had mould around the shower and the toilet did not flush and had to be initially manually filled with water. Again the bed linen was comfortable as were the beds.

We checked out after one night although they changed us for all nights, on reflection we should never have checked in. We found alternative accommodation for the rest of trip, which was in a better location, very clean and with very friendly/helpful staff. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Pros: Excellent location 5 mins walk to picturesque city centre and a further 10mins to the beautiful cathedral. We stayed on the second floor room 205 no traffic noise on this side of the building. Large free car park to the side. Was concerned due to some negative reviews but this hotel is really not that bad, stayed one night on way back from south to Calais. Excellent value for money compared to other Rouen hotels.

Pros: Just a perfect hotel for a few nights' stay. Right in the center of town, parking about 5 min walk in some garage for 6 euro per day. Garage not bad at all, very doable, very easy to find by car. Very nice personnel, the two ladies there, attentive and kind. Rooms were just perfect, nothing missing, very clean, bed was good.

Cons: No towels or toilet paper until we asked for them and the had to share towels as they didn’t have enough clean ones. No glasses or anything else to drink out of. No pillowcases on pillows in one room. Bin not emptied in bathroom with used condom clearly visible. Blocked shower and other shower very smelly. Empty drinks can under bed.

Cons: I had no towels in my room & when I realised there was no-one at reception. There was no toilet roll. The floor in the bathroom didn’t look like it had been cleaned.

Cons: I would have needed the information about where to park before arriving. I had parked in the wrong parking lot (Palais de Justice, instead of Hotel de Ville) and I had to move the car. Given that distance to walk and drive (the city is full of one-way streets), this info should be given upfront on the web site. The Wify requires login and with my Mac, I had trouble doing that (first, the page did not load spontaneously, then I got security warnings, which I also get in French train stations). Could be easier.

Cons: TV did not work, no matter what you tried. Breakfast: they're no experts, but it's good enough if you want to save time, 6 euro for croissant etc coffee. Climbing stairs with your suitcase!
