Pros: On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful to us and our dog, the parking was safe for the car and we enjoyed the music in the restaurant, as a additional bonus as it was my birthday weekend a cake was sent to my room , and it was a very welcome surprise.

Cons: A bit far from the historic centre if you are a tourist - however there is a bus stop virtually outside on two lines that take you to the centre and it is only a 10 minute walk from the metro. Cab from the centre is 6-7euros.

Pros: Excellent customer service from the moment we arrived to the hotel. The hotel is in a short distance from most attractions in the city. It costs 5-10 euros to get to the downtown or to the beach. The lounge in th 19th floor has a nice view of the city and they offer good selection of food and baverages. The hotel has a thermal bath, jaccozi and sauna and it is included in the room rate.

Cons: Given the standard of the hotel, the pool facilities let it down. The spa was beautiful, but at additional cost. The "free" pool and associated facilities were not of the same standard as the rest of the hotel.

Pros: The staff is very very welcoming and very helpful. We arrived early in the morning (9:30 a.m), our room was not prepared yet (that is normal), to wait we wanted to take a breakfast outside. When we asked the staff member at the reception where we could have breakfast in the hotel area he offered us the breakfast! It was very kind! Concerning the facilities everything is perfect : the room was big, comfortable (particularly the bed and the pillows) and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and we recommend this hotel!

Cons: The light behind the television not clearly marketed where to turn off. I spent a good hour looking for the tiny hidden switch which I still didn’t find. I had to ask in the end. Air conditioning had no instructions either. Difficult to work out.

There was also a bottle of champagne is the room for the birthday, which we thought was a nice touch and really appreciated it. The rooms were very clean and quite large, we had a triple room and there was plenty of space, also a nice big bathroom. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Hotel Dom Henrique!

Cons: One evening in the hotel bar., we found one of the bar men to be a bit rude. We were looking at the cocktail menu and he approached to ask if we were ready and we politely requested more time, he huffed and sighed. We were then left waiting for our drinks over 30 minutes after already trying to order. Whist serving our drinks he threw the place mats down on the table aggressively and just gave the impression that he was annoyed .We had drank there the previous night also and had a more positive experience, but that particular night we felt like an inconvenience. There was no issue with any of the other staff.

Pros: our family room was very clean, comfortable and spacious, and the balcony was a plus. the staff was very friendly and breakfast was fantastic.
Cons: we ordered food because our daughter was sick, but we did not get utensils with our food delivery. when we asked the front desk and restaurant for utensils they charge 1 euro per utensil, so for the four of us for spoons and forks or knives was 12 euros. this is the first time ever that we stayed in a hotel that charged to borrow utensils.

Cons: Coldest welcome we have received anywhere. Staff did not acknowledge us or smile. They seemed to have a very bad culture. Man on reception as we left was pleasant but a nice young man serving in the breakfast room was in trouble despite working very hard. Cons: Parking area is accessible from a very narrow street and thru a pair of swinging doors which need to be activated by someone inside the parking area , driver thus holds up honkiing traffic .I recommend using taxi service for the duration of your stay once you parked. Taxis are very economical and are found everywhere. Room acoustics are poor from outside noise.
