10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was fantastic, with great service. Highly recommended.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The staff were very friendly and made a big effort but were clearly struggling with the resources at their disposal.
Cons: After a three week trip to New Zealand, staying at 10 other hotels and b&bs this was both the worst and the most expensive accommodation we had while in the country. In pictures the hotel seems very stylish but on arrival there is a lot wrong here. Only two out of six lightbulbs in a bathroom light, large dead insects in bedroom drawers, dozens of flies in both the bedroom and restaurant giving an impression of neglect and slap dash cleaning. For such an expensive hotel there were remarkable things lacking- no free standing shower in the room, only a shower attachment over a bath with a plug that didn’t stop the water from draining, no toiletries in the bathroom other than body moisturiser and a bar of soap. Extremely noisy from the inside of the hotel and the outside due to single glazed windows and curtains that were very thin letting street lights and car headlights into the room all night. I’m extremely surprised by the quality of the reviews for this hotel as I really wouldn’t recommend staying there, especially as it is so expensive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful customer service we were lucky enough to have our room upgraded. We were brought bubbles and petite fours on arrival and a lovely coffee for breakfast. The formal room was huge and very old world luxury. Thanks so much!

Pros: Escape to Picton, is a lovely boutique hotel experience. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the lovely Elizabeth, who upon arrival showed us our amazing suite complete with petit fours and a glass of NZ wine. Our suite the “honeymoon” suite was gorgeous, the attention to detail and comfort was 5*. King bed with luxury linens, lounge and balcony with views of the sound and marina and then there is the tub! You must eat downstairs! The food is delicious!
Cons: Absolutely nothing!!
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Superb location for anyone who has used the ferry. Finding such an individual boutique hotel in this area is a pleasant surprise.
Cons: No real negatives.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived at this beautiful hotel late in the evening, and were greeted by the incredibly charming Elisabeth. We were offered a complimentary upgrade to the honeymoon suite, which was absolutely stunning! We were so impressed when we walked into the suite and saw how beautifully the room was decorated, with ambient lighting (and dimmers) that added to the charm. The tub in the bathroom was gorgeous, and salts were offered for a nice soak. The room was very clean and immaculately decorated. The restaurant was amazing, and offered such delicious wines. The staff were all so welcoming and hospitable, especially Elisabeth and the waitress working inside the restaurant (we regret not asking for her name). We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed there again on our way back up the coast, and of course dined at the restaurant again. We were offered a complimentary upgrade again which we were so grateful for, and we were treated like old friends by the staff who remembered us. They even gave us soy milk as they noticed we had left a jug of soy milk in the room, and the waitress remembered exactly which wines we had during our previous visit. Huge thank you to the wonderful team at Escape to Picton! We will definitely be back if we are in the area.
Cons: A small fridge in the room would be a nice addition, though we were definitely fine without it!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Very special
Cons: Noise from pub next door

Pros: Very clean room, friendly welcome, nice character house within easy walking distance to the township. Off street parking was also great.

Pros: An amazing location, beautiful food. Everything was perfect.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Idyllic location, beautifully appointed cabins, friendly, laid back service.
Cons: No internet for a couple of days, though that is obviously a hazard of such a remote location. Menu is a bit limited if staying for more than a couple of days( and of course there’s nowhere else to eat.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: beautiful isolated location, very friendly staff
Cons: no internet access so no VoiP calling and no way to reliably be reached in emergency (and we had one). No jet skis etc, not enough kayaks or paddle boards, even with small number of guests, staff did not know names etc and while friendly it was not high service level for the price.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The property & views were spectacular, the food exceptional, our room was beyond expectations. The owners seemed lovely, + we adore the resident cat !
Cons: It was our honeymoon and unfortunately raining on our second day. We asked for later checkout however this was not available, our water taxi was booked at 3.45pm so quite a wait from 10am to then, would've been quite fine if the weather was okay. Unfortunately we felt really awkward/like an inconvenience after checking out as the only place we could go was the sitting area. We weren't asked if we wanted to dine for lunch, no one really checked on us at all actually. We had a massage 2ish luckily which took up the last little bit of time, but in all honesty I would've expected a little more care from such a fine establishment. We felt like an afterthought. My review would've been much higher if not for this aspect of our stay, we just didn't feel like the service was there.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, well appointed units and great facilities. The staff are fabulous.
Cons: The rain! But couldn’t really be fixed.

9,3 Excellent
Pros: Stunning views, idyllic location. Friendly staff, particularly the manager who was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. The restaurant was first class, with an excellent reasonably priced wine list.
Cons: The only drawback is you're reliant on using water taxis which increases the cost of your stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Magic place, amazing hotel in a beautiful nature resort, the dinner and breakfast were absolutely great. The hotel team was very kind and helpful. I hope I will be able to return to this beautiful place again.
Cons: Nothing
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location, rooms spotlessly clean with nice personal touches. Lovely helpful staff, good food and wine. Nice walks locally - some quite strenuous, but worth it. Wildlife and boaties coming and going, captivating...
Cons: Nothing really, our room was beginning to look a little tired, but that’s a really minor thing. The place is gorgeous

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Handy location.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: A good location, close to town, the marina and restaurants. A nice hotel which offers really good value for money. Doesn't feature a 24hr reception, but has practically all other expected amenities. The rooms were nice and comfortable and clean. The staff were excellent and very helpful. We were on the ground floor, but I imagine the views from the upper floors would be amazing. Highly reccomended.
Cons: Our vehicle was parked on the road, and was broken into by some locals over night. The staff at the hotel were woken by the Police and were very helpful in resolving the issue. I would reccomend parking off the road if you can.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous views over the harbour and really good room service, meals were so much bigger then expected and so good!!!
Cons: Beds seemed really really old, base was falling apart and could see the springs inside, haven't saw a sprung base in years! Booked a room with a spa bath but the jets were extremely dirty and shot alot of gunk out on each bath so couldn't actually use the "spa" feature.

Pros: Every thing was good staff is friendly, that white guy on the reception was really nice n Friendly and helpfull, location , cleanliness, and the bathroom was really good
Cons: Well hard to say anything
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Room was large, bed comfortable and the bathroom was reasonably modern. Great views. Price was good.
Cons: Passageways are looking very tired: carpet is old and grubby-looking, needs repainting. Lift is a long way away from some rooms. Continental breakfast had very limited range of options: no fruit or yogurt.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent rooms with a great view. The price was very good for the big room I stayed in. Location was convenient as it was close to the ferry terminals.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely spacious apartment, really close to town, parking close to the door
Cons: I hated the fact that the bedroom door was made out of a beveled glass which you could see the tv flickering through and then the outside light also shone right through it, a sleepless night for me I’m sorry to say
6,3 Good
Pros: The hotel is close to the ferry terminal with free parking and is mostly clean and comfortable.
Cons: Hotel is quite basic, the restaurant on site is expensive and not great, and the hairdryer caught on fire...
7,5 Good
Pros: I really liked how clean comfortable and what a great location this property was, right in the middle of town.
Cons: The room was a little tricky to access with a tiny elevator and they charge a fee that takes a few days to come back, which wasn’t mentioned when booking.
7,0 Good
Pros: didn't have breakfast
Cons: Could do with some more blankets, room was cold
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: nothing
Cons: Advertised restaurant but wasn't open Couldn't ever get hold of any staff
4,3 Okay
Pros: Very disappointed in our room Broken basin, just not up to Mecure standard. Know they have better rooms as have stayed before.
Cons: The room.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The location...is was close to everything
Cons: We did not get told or agree to $50.00 being taken from our bank account (we have still not received that money back yet). We were not happy with this and think that we should have been informed, we recommend definitely telling your reception staff to inform customers of this as it put a dampener on our experience at your hotel. However we do understand that money needs to be held for incidentals, but think there should be a clearer understanding.
7,7 Good
Pros: Staff were considerate and thoughtful, giving us a free complementary up upgrade. The film channel was also good. I liked not having to walk through the hotel to leave or arrive - we were able to come and go as we pleased.
Cons: Not applicable
6,0 Good
Pros: How close it is to the shops and other venues that we needed to get to.
Cons: The sound of the metal stair access outside is a bit noisy. The balcony sliding door didn't have a lock.
6,7 Good
Pros: Hotel Restaurant offers magnificent food.
Cons: The lift is only available 5 stairs down which is uncomfortable, and is at the bottom of the passage far from the Reception. A room with a bath is something which I missed.
6,0 Good
Pros: Location and cheap room rate. Room was clean and staff were good.
Cons: The hotel definitely needs the upgrade its getting. Last night I couldnt get back in the main door, luckily the side door was open.I would recommend the hotel after the upgrade.
6,6 Good
Pros: i liked the convenience of location, new decor room 313, minor incident handled professionally by staff. able to leave bag for short time after check-out instead of dragging it around picton shops whilst waiting for the return train.
Cons: having to get on my hands and knees on the floor and plug the kettle in whilst leaving the kettle sitting on the new carpet as the power outlet behind the bar fridge was unaccessable and the cord too short.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Proximity to town and ease to find.
Cons: At no time were we notified of the on-going Construction/Rennovation to the Hotel until we were unpacked in room. Room was cold (not prepared for guests), noisey rubbish truck outside. Upon inspection, noted it was a crane withing 30 metres from the room working on the property - after putting up with it for 20 minutes we enquired from Reception with regard to when it would stop. Told at 7.00 pm restarting at 8.00 am in morning. Raining heavily when arrived were unable to really look at exterior or be aware of the noise levels. Unfortunately no compensation of any sort was suggested and the Jack Hammer starting at 7.45 am the follwing morning was the end. Not good value for money at all!!!!!
5,6 Okay
Pros: I arrived late,so I felt a bit out and there was no bar open so I went to bed 10pm
Cons: No cooked breakfast and the continental was meager and overpriced
6,0 Good
Pros: The round bed
Cons: No information about breakfast in the hotel info. No cooked breakfast available.
