Atlantis Royal Tower Feb 18
Staff was very friendly and accommodating; location of the hotel was perfectly central to the water front, water park, restaurants, casino, etc.; lots of fun; food was decent but expensive as you could imagine. Island cocktail drinks we generously made; great place for families or couples
The hotel facilities, rooms, and some common areas of the Royal need to be updated and/or renovated. Places like the new Baha Mar can now compete because if this.
The place is amazing
Price to eat and the staff to support you
Beautiful and special resort and water park. Poor
We went there because of our kids and stayed at a suite in the Royal Tower, the main building. The resort is very special and beautiful, especially the marine life you see everywhere and the fun water activities. The beach is also beautiful, with the exception of the open access local vendors have which quickly turns the 5 star experience into 3 stars or less. You get constantly approached by the competing vendors trying to sell you wave runner rentals, parasails, food, and artifacts.
The service at this resort is very inconsistent and the staff are often unprofessional and unfriendly. Don't expect smiles or much eye contact, as staff will often talk to you while looking at their computers and phones. Complaints go unanswered. The value is also poor. Expect to pay a lot and the 15% gratuity is added to everything, even when you stand in the long self-serve lines to get little service at the end! Overall we enjoyed our stay, but will not go back. We will try our luck somewhere else next time.
Everything is Super Expensive
The property is gorgeous, you really don't need to leave the hotel there's so much to do, endless water slides pools private beach restaurants gambling
Everything on this property was freaking super overpriced..first, you have an automatic gratuity on EVERY SINGLE ITEM YOU PURCHASE, whether it's a soda at the pool food stand, your meal at the buffet, or even a bottle of sunscreen from the hotel gift shop!! Yes you have to pay tip on toothpaste you forgot to bring and sales tax on everything. A hamburger and fries was $22 plus tip plus tax from the food stand. I stuck with mango margaritas around the pool and they varied from $13-$15 per drink depending on the waitress. That of course included the automatic tip. The breakfast buffet was eggs bacon and sausage and breads and potatoes, for me and my two 15 yr old boys the bill was $102.90. No shrimp, no oysters no steak. Way over priced and the buffet restaurant was being renovated so it was a make shift buffet they set up downstairs in the lobby area. Was NOT worth it. We only ate there one day. The staff varied from being super nice to down right overtly rude..it was hit or miss..depending on the person..the lifeguards tended to be friendly and approachable, the dealers, and especially the waitresses in the casino were extremely rude..asking for extra tips. Never had that happen in any place I have visited. Everything negative about this hotel was strictly financial..if you go in realizing you should plan to spend about $300 daily on food for 3 people excluding alcohol then you will be fine.
