Cons: Location
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Alma Historica lasted a week and began to feel like “home” thanks to the welcoming personalities of the staff and the above and beyond help they provided as we navigated our way in a foreign country. Sometimes they booked excursions that were too late to book online, or translated menus for guests in need of assistance. The view of the rooftops of Montevideo at sunset from the terrace were stunning! Everything about our stay was quite magical.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very cozy boutique hotel in an excellent location. The staff was very accommodating and the room was clean and convenient. Breakfast was good. The view from the rooftop was amazing!

Pros: I loved this hotel, the ambiance is amazing, the detail in architecture and decor dating back as well as the preservation of historical links to prominent Uruguayan creative figures. Beautiful location and very handy to everything.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The building and the room were beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in an old part of the city and is close to one or two nice bars and cafes. The rooftop patio provides a nice view of the city.
Cons: There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room. The neighbourhood is a little quiet if your looking for nightlife and excitement, but if you like the peace and quiet and beautiful old world feel, then the hotel is great.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredible nice, the place was very clean and the localization is perfect.
Cons: My room key stopped working a few times, but it didnt take much time to be fixed.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, perfect location and lovely staff.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I wanted a small, intimate and historical felling hotel, located in the old part of the city. That is exactly what I got.
Cons: There were drummers in the square for several hours late into the night. Not the hotel’s issue. Just the local color you get when you seek a historical location.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, big room, nice shower, good breakfast, and very clean.

Cons: Room was small and cramped.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: For my travel purposes it has an excellent location, near restaurants, a shopping center and main streets. Breakfast buffet included, clean rooms, hot water, safe box, pretty hotel. It is a cost worthy hotel option.
Cons: Overall the breakfast was good, but if you stay several days (like I did), you get bored of the same things every day, so it would be good if the hotel change the breakfast buffet menu at least every 2 days.
7,1 Good
Pros: I just checked in after 22:00 and checked out around 07:30. so i do not know what is good, what is bad. but if i dare to say, this hotel is close to Garicia/ one of the best steak restaurant in Uruguay.

Pros: Fabulous looking property. Nice outdoor pool and the beach on your doorstep. Staff were fantastic and very professional.
Cons: Long way from the Old Town, but actually it’s situated in the most upmarket part of town with some excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance. Garcia’s restaurant is off the scale.

Pros: Fantastic staff from the front desk and porters, to the restaurant staff and maids. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and great smiles everywhere. The location was also great with several of the best restaurants of Montevideo just behind the hotel.
Cons: The furniture in the room was so stylish that it was sometimes impracticable. The surfaces were matt, and thus showed every bump, scratch etc. so as to appear not very clean. The restaurant was perfectly shiny, though.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a superior room on the 11 floor and it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is very good and you can have eggs/bacon/omelets made to order. We had a lovely view of the sea from our room and a huge outdoor balcony.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is on the waterfront. Great view! It's in a safe, upscale residential area with shops, restaurants, and a shopping mall nearby. Public transportation is available to go downtown in 20 min. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. We appreciated their flexibility when we asked to check out an hour later because we were doing a city tour.
Cons: There was only one electrical outlet for US electronics next to the desk. A couple more outlets next to the bed would be great to charge phones at night.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff good location
Cons: Hotel is so outdated and the showers are very weak.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great and kosher which was amazing for us and make us such easy life, The stuff were kind and helpful, as we arrived they gave us instructions about the city. The room was clean and warm the bath looked a little old but the toilet were clean. We enjoyed our stay and we would definitely comeback.
Cons: It's a little far from the center, The garage was very small.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very big and confortable room. Nice alocation.
Cons: THe hotel is Kosher so in the breakfast there are no sausages
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, but coffee a bit weak. Good choices on the buffet and I loved the large size room with sink and frig Good proximity to beach area, but I was not prepared for the overcrowding of Pocitos with apartments!
Cons: Having to pay $10 day to park my rented car in their garage! Coffee too weak and I rec a healthier option other than corn flakes and fatty granola. Bran flakes or more multigrain options? No need to heat a SWIMMING POOL to almost 90 degrees if its for swimming and not just lounging and hanging out. Bacteria thrive in hot pools! Disappointed that the pool was too hot for swimming; it was the temp of a jacuzzi!!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Professional manager. Clean and tidy.
Cons: This is not a hotel for dogs, eventhough its advertized as one. Once they saw my dog, they pulled out 'the rules'; not allowing us (my dog and myself) to enter or exit through the front door, we can only use the GARAGE. Charged me $25 extra per night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff! Clean rooms. Helped us with our car. Safe to walk around. Mall and restaurant are about a 10-15 min walk. Cabs and Ubers are super cheap.
Cons: Because it’s a Kosher place, they have cheese but no meats.

Cons: No late check out and I stay there because of a wedding
7,1 Good
Pros: The staff was very kind
Cons: There were several things that didn’t work properly in the room such as lights and the air conditioner. Also, the room service menu and the frigobar prices were not in the room, so I had to ask for them
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We chose this location to unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Great room, even though the bed were 2 single beds tie wrapped together. We lounged with drinks and snacks by the poolside with the caring staff attending to our needs. The receptionists were very helpful when booking tours and even finding a dentist.
Cons: The place is very isolated. There is nothing more to do than the local chapel where couples get married. The Jacksonville square was mostly closed during our visit. Dining at the hotel restaurant was a bit disappointing after the great breakfast and lunch. But an Uber can pick you up fairly quickly to visit downtown.
7,9 Good
Pros: Location is amazing. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Lovely grounds, plenty to do....bike, walk...
Cons: Maintenance budget seems to be under pressure. Missing tiles, noisy aircon, bed lights non functioning/dangerous, bad paint, single beds are soooo small…..pool untidy…… breakfast good, other meals enthusiastic but not up to menu !
7,9 Good
Pros: The staff is very attentious. The site is beautiful, as if you were in a farm. The church next to the hotel is gorgeous. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: The sauna didnt work properly.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Not included.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Happy staff
Cons: Booking didn’t show all the rooms available. We stayed very far from our kid’s room, 9 floor of diference and they could have stayed in our room. Our friends payed the same amount for double of time and better installations and rights. I think the system is not personal. Maybe this is the problem.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room, the customer service and the people very kind
Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Cons: The breakfast was not included because I booked thru booking.com. I had to pay $20 US each time. When I book from their site, breakfast is included for the same price.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the facilities and the friendliness of your staff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was located in a great part of town. Some nice restaurants within walking distances. Greeted by friendly staff who spoke both Spanish and English fluently. The room was ready ahead of time and we loved that. The room was large and very comfortable. Great shower, the gym was great with all modern machines and a large stretch area. The level connecting you to the shopping mall is really handy.
Cons: We wouldn't recommend the restaurant is the hotel for dinner. But the bar snacks were great. Dinner should be of higher standard for a Sheraton.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great facility for business meetings.
Cons: Room should have a fridge stocked with water and drinks
4,6 Okay
Cons: Air con was faulty . Changed our room but second room had broken toilet seat and no extractor fan in bathroom.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good but expensive. Location perfect. Pool nice
Cons: No outside space
9,1 Excellent
Pros: I'd have to mention the view... gorgeous view of the bay and sunrise. The room was superb and the bed very comfortable. There was an excellent breakfast too.
Cons: The bathroom was very well suited but there was no disposable comb or a brush. We were on a emergency stay and we didn't have those on us. No toothpaste or toothbrush either. It'd be nice to have some disposable ones just in case.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location near city centre, helpful and friendly staff.
7,9 Good
Pros: We had the deluxe room with hot tub, which was great. The room wasn’t huge but it was well appointed and was very comfortable. It was also very close to both the Rambla - good for morning walks - and the old city.
Cons: Our room didn’t have a window, which we felt like was something of an oversight for their highest level of room. I would have appreciated if that was made clear before I booked the stay.

Hotel Cottage - Montevideo - Building

Featured amenities include a business center, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Event facilities at this hotel consist of conference space and a meeting room. 10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, view and rooms
Cons: Nothing
6,0 Good
Pros: Location, ambiance.
Cons: Tiny bathroom reminiscent in size of an airplane bathroom. The bathroom’s shower was full of mildew, the shower door couldn’t be closed and consequently leaked water all over the floor.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Well located in the area (not downtown) but walking distance to many restaurants in Carrasco. Nicely located on Rambla where you can walk or go for a run. Cozy hotel.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The Cottage Carrasco was the last of five hotels we stayed in during our South-American trip of 18 days and it proved to be the crown jewel of them all. The staff are proficient in English, which can't be said about most Uruguayans. The hotel looks remarkably well, with an obvious attention to design and ambiance; so do the rooms, the hallways and the lobby. The breakfast area offers tremendous views over the Carrasco beach- the traffic on the rambla Mexico is unavoidable, I'm afraid. The back garden with the pool is well maintained, with fine landscaping. Breakfast itself is very good quality, catering for all tastes; we specifically appreciated the espresso machine, a feature we couldn't find in the other hotels. Our room on the third floor was a corner room, offering great views over the beach and the rambla. The Carrasco beach is right across the rambla and the restaurant street is not far away, starting at the Sofitel building- you can't miss it, it's the art nouveau striking construction! For small shopping you have the petrol station 200 .m away.
Cons: The pool is rather on the small side. Carrasco neighbourhood being posh as it is, there's not interest whatsoever for tourist entertainment: the rambla is bare, no terraces, no restaurants, not much greenery- like on all ramblas in the city. Evening life is non-existent, which is a pity from a tourist's point of view, but definitely not imputable to the hotel.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Fluffy pillows. Very clean. Calm and cozy. Great location. It is an excellent hotel for both leisure and business trips. Might be less appropriate for families with small kids.
Cons: The Breakfast although good, it could be better with larger range of options. Additional services and assistance for tourist could improve the experience.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Location on Rambla in Carrasco.
Cons: Weak WiFi signal in some rooms, had to go to lounge for good WiFi signal.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice property on rambla, friendly, helpful staff, nice comfy bed, great hot water shower, large room, nice breakfast, good wifi access.
Cons: Sunday night menu was extremely limited after Sunday afternoon tea!

Pros: Great hotel. Great location in the best part of town. Swimming pool, sauna. Awesome garden and interior spaces to relax. Great decor. Great café and restaurant with quality food at affordable price. Great pillows, linens, and beds. Nice bathroom. Above all, great personal service.
Cons: Some areas were on repairs. Nothing major.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, close to the little town and close to the airport.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Carrasco beach location on Rambla, clean ocean air, close to airport, hotel parking lot across street, friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, nice breakfast.
Cons: WiFi signal weak in rooms with great views to ocean, Rambla. Have to go to lobby for good WiFi signal.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very close to the beach, and in a wonderful neighborhood. The building was modern, and the staff friendly and helpful. English is not my first language, but the staff were accommodating nonetheless!

Cons: We found the kitchen utensils lacking. The property advertises as a serviced apartment yet even the basics in a kitchen were not there such as a knife or a chopping board, kitchen towel or even a dish rag to clean up after food prep. 8,8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: The bed linen was too small for the bed and the duvet cover did not fit properly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, clean facilities, comfortable beds.
Cons: Microwave in the bedroom would of been nice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Located near Pocitos beach; between Ciudad Vieja and MVD airport; attached to an upscale shopping mall; English speaking staff and English language TV programs (under the "personal channel" TV menu); decent breakfast and other meals in their restaurant; very friendly staff that upgraded me to a very nice suite (any of the X01 rooms which face the waterfront and have a private balcony, living room, bedroom, 2 TVs,, and 1.5 baths)
Cons: Maid did not clean my room during my 2 night stay, but it didn't bother me much since I'm pretty neat.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast, nice breads. Very convenient location next door to mall, especially on a rainy day.
Cons: Pillows were hard. No 3rd bed allowed, not enough space for 3 people.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and facilities but the staff, so professional and friendly, were superb!
7,9 Good
Pros: It’s clean and the breakfast was good
Cons: The shower it’s too hot or too cold, it was very difficult to find the right temperature to take a shower. There is some machine noise in the room (mine was 404).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect if you for work to the WTC. The hotel is clean and the front desk staff is helpful and nice.
Cons: The restaurant is either understaffed or the service is really slow at night.
6,7 Good
Pros: Comfortable clean room. Good breakfast.
Cons: Personal is clueless. At diner waiter asked how was my food, I replied that the meat (milanesa) was of bad quality (hard), no comment or apology came. Next morning no hot water, many people commenting at the reception, justified by an electic blackout, but never apologized or said she was sorry for the inconvenience. Hilton promotes “a promise” to make your stay excellent, I saw absolutely no effort whatsoever. I see no reason to come back.

Pros: Location was excellent for a one day visit, everything was in walking distance, also the Buquebus ferry terminal. Room was clean and staff helpful. Pool area also looked great, but because the time of year of our stay we didn’t use it.
Cons: We liked everything about the hotel, but if something has to be mentioned WiFi was a bit slow.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. A few blocks away from the main square and public transportation. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good as well.

5,8 Okay
Cons: THE REZEPTIONIST WAS REALLY UNFRIENDLY
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Over the road from the Market of meat restaurants, the staff were great at the hotel
Cons: Can be noisy at night if you are at the front of the hotel, and not a lot open at night in this area.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice room. Good central location - five minute walk from the ferry terminal, across the street from the market and a short walk to the city centre. ( keep in mind that the old city is quite deserted at night, so if you intend on going out at night, you may need to take cabs). Staff was very friendly and very helpful - and very patient with non-Spanish speakers :-) . The rooftop pool looked gorgeous but we were there during the winter when it was too cold to swim. We arrived quite early and they let us check in early since the room was ready.
Cons: The room was a bit smaller than it looked in the photos, but was very comfortable.
9,2 Excellent

7,5 Good
Pros: The manager, Anna, was hugely helpful in explaining where to get to places and how to get there, and offering suggestions. She was very patient and helpful to everyone I saw her talking to. The rest of the staff were also very pleasant. I arrived really late and there was no problem about check-in. The breakfasts were fine. I hate being fobbed off with continental breakfast and so was pleased to get ham and cheese, as well as omelettes, scrambled eggs, etc. cooked to order.
Cons: My only quibble was I was there for 3 days/breakfasts and it was identical every day. Nothing else. The review form is pressing me to write more but I don't have anything else to say.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable a the room was extra clean. The attendants were helpful.
Cons: The coffee tasted awful but I suppose thos is true of Uruguayan coffee in general!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Easy location. Great fresh breakfast.
Cons: So new it lacked a bit of charm in the old town.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rooms Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water was lovely Clean and well put together
Cons: There wasn't too much around the hotel but that could just be a personal bias. The food nearby wasn't great and the area shut down early at night
7,5 Good
Cons: We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. It seemed expensive as an added cost. A simple upgrade would help the immediate perception - the room keys are horrible. They have taped wifi information added to them, and they have the negative statement about paying for them if you lose them. The cards do not show excellence or "design hotel" quality, and they are the first thing we receive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast and the sea view. The staff was really friendly.
Cons: The size of the TV.

Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean, conveniently located.
Cons: Nothing
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Huge hotel in the main city square. Well located. Very confortable. The 25 floors include a large conventional center, rooms for smaller events and even a indoor pool. Great breakfast in the 25th with great view of city.
Cons: There would be no complaints, however, in our two last nights, a strong smell of cigarrete smoke annoyed us a lot. We complaint in the front desk. They sent someone to open the windows (ok) but the problem was not solved. It seems that if someone smokes in a nearby room, you will be annoyed by it. They told us there would be a U$ 100 fine per day for smokers. But it seems they could not catch this one.
9,2 Excellent
Cons: The Cazuela Española i had for dinner was of very questionable quality, the octopus was awfully hard to chew. The welcome drink is not up to the standard of Radisson.
7,9 Good
Pros: Good
6,0 Good

Cons: Internet included was too slow, and charged for faster connection (unbelievable). Breakfast was repetitive and without alternatives for gluten intolerant.

Pros: Great location not far from the centre of Ciudad Vieja and local transport. Breakfast was good but a bit repetitive during a longer stay.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, new, lots of hot water, good breakfast, free movies, nice small gym on the 10th floor with a view of the city and room for getting the sun, also great for watching the sunset. Desk staff was super especially Ines.
Cons: Some folks on desk had a bit of difficulty with English.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice bright room with lots of amenities; microwave in a small kitchen area, with a table and stools. Very clean and comfortable. Great location, able to easily walk to the major sites. Wonderful breakfast, great variety and plentiful. The service was amazing. At the front desk the young man went over and above to get us bus tickets to get to Colonia. Seems that everyone at the hotel is at least bilingual and speak perfect English. It's great when everything works, the elevator, wifi, hot shower. Uruguay was a wonderful experience.
Cons: All good.
7,1 Good
Pros: Fabulous location in the border of the Business district and downtown, surrounded by restaurants, museums, cinemas, etc. Staff is always helpful and available. Breakfast is very good. On-site restaurant as well, including local Uruguayan specialties. I booked a loft, which is a corner room. Very spacious, airy and lots of light, with views to Palacio Salvo and the river (11th flor)
Cons: Although the hotel location is excellent, unfortunately, at the corner across the hotel is the 'base camp' of a group of drug addicts (three to five) that make noise every night - screams, fights, etc. Also, 50 meters from the hotel there is bar that even lay tables on the side walk and play live music (and not live music) with all doors and windows open. To make a long story short... loud noise starts around 23hrs non-stop 'till around 5am. The hotel windows are not noise proofed (no double nor triple-glazed) hence we could not sleep during the three nights we stayed in this hotel.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, comfy beds, good location for city walks.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was a nice experience
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room we stayed in (701) for three days was large and spacious, with a nice compact bathroom with a small tub. Everything was clean and the bed is comfortable. Our bedroom had an extra bed that we didn't use. Staff were very helpful and some even spoke Brazilian Portuguese! We had some problems with neighbors staying on room 702 doing a lot of noise at 1am, but calling reception solved the issue. Breakfast seemed just pretty good at first, but after later stays at other hotels in Uruguay I realised it was the best I had had in Uruguay. It is a buffet with medialunas, dulce de leche, pastries, fruit salad, juices and yogurt... It's pretty complete. The location is also really good, being close to Plaza Cagancha, which is a nice square not far from the old city gate.
Cons: The juice in the breakfast was not freshly squeezed and as such didn't taste as good. The bed, despite being announced as double, was actually two single beds put together. They fit together pretty decently though, and this was not an issue. Coffee lovers: the coffee is really low quality, they're even worse than traditional Brazilian supermarket coffee, with a burnt smell. Consider though that this was true for all places I stayed in Uruguay, even 4 star hotels. There's the option to pay for a good quality espresso, but that'll cost you three dollars (yes, dollars).
9,6 Excellent
Pros: When I have to attend any meeting at Montevideo the Oxford hitel usually is my choice. I recomend. Luiz
Cons: Xxxz
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Good english speaking staff Spacious rooms

4,2 Okay
Pros: Nothing special to mention.
Cons: The hotel was chosen for free parking, however they only had space for 5 cars that we could see in the underground parking so actually no parking to speak of. The toilet was dirty on arrival, hallways were dirty, curtains had lots of dust from the air conditioner, Mould on shower /bathroom roof the sheets on the bed had somebody elses hair inside when we got into bed. A simple request for extra towels was not attended to. After complaining about the dirty bath/toilet it was apparently cleaned, but it was not. We had to request cleaning staff again. The Wifi did not work the first night we stayed.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very good.
Cons: The shower cabin had no door which meant that the bath room floor went very wet all over after showering. There was a constant noice from a loose flag outside the window.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, walking distance to many sights and eateries. Great breakfast!
Cons: Bathroom needs some attention. The spa bath was not operational and could not have been for a while.
7,9 Good
Pros: This property are located in downtown near restaurants, shops, coffeeshops, movies and theatres. From there, is very easy to move around to another interestings points. An advise: DO NOT TAKE TAXIS in Montevideo they are very expensives, UBER is the best option ever. If you want to discover the city, there is a bus in red which circulate for a city tour, ask to staff where is the nearest bus stop, the ticket must be paid straight to bus driver. Good luck!
Cons: Smelling bad in the restroom, maybe in reason of the old facilities or things like that. I think a very good maintenance at all could fix this problem. The rest is good.
7,9 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: A bit noisy
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast included on the price. The variety to choose breakfast was very good.
Cons: The shower didn’t have a door or curtain. While showering the water went out of the shower place into the bathroom floor and run out to the bedroom, due to this problem the water is damaging the wooden tiles in the room.
7,9 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Internet in the room was unstable
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff: very friendly! Breakfast: very good! Location: Excellent; in the center of Montevideo. Internet: strong signal; Rooms: very comfortable; big room, plenty of space, very clean, full of closets to organize very well the personal belongs; safe box in the room; air cond/heat working perfect; nice table inside the room with 2 chairs, nice desk, quiet. Coffee and/or hot water to prepare tea in my room available 24/7
Cons: I like everything!
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: I like the flor without rugs
Cons: People from the Desk really not fríendly, two of them really with but behavior, unrespectfull and even in the weather was so cool the heather in the rroom was out of order and they did not find Any solution even if I preyed for it. Now from my arrival yo my country I have a terrible cold probably due To this reason. The most severe problem is the low quality of human service and comunication. I travel a lot for work and is one if the worst experience Ever. We felt really bad, treated not as a guest,
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and well appointed.
Cons: No in room kettle for tea or coffee, not a big deal.
