Live Jazz Band outside our cool patio on the adjacent golf course; cleanliness; customer service
The room we had reserved was booked when we checked in...but they knocked off the parking fee!
Very good stayed, really enjoyed!!
Ask me of I would like a room close to the pool, rather than just assigning me there. Very noisy if you don’t have kids.
Expensive and Noisy
Fast check in, lots of parking
Overpriced, Noisy rooms, Poor F&B operations,
our TV didn't work very well, it would freeze up and the screen would turn into pixels. An engineer came but wasn't about to do anything about it. We were disappointed because we just wanted to watch a movie without it constantly freezing up.
Summer heat without the AC
The facility is so outdated that during our recent stay for Labor Day weekend the AC unit, which was only a wall plugged unit, failed. The room temperature was unbearably hot due to a heat wave. I called about the problem in afternoon and kept getting the run-around from the management that facility was going to fix it soon. I kept calling and visiting the front desk and finally at 11:00 pm the management told me that there was nothing they could do. Needless to say, our stay was very frustrating. I would not recommend staying at this facility while visiting Monterey especially during the summer.
Facilities not to standard expected for four star rating
Hotel receptionist at the front lobby. Upon checking in, he literally gave keys and handed it over. Didn't explain anything else, parking, amenities, etc
My wife and I live on east coast and celebrated our 25th anniversary in California. We stayed at a Hyatt in 3 out of the 4 cities we spent time in. We started with the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco for 4 nights which was fantastic! We then stayed here at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey which was not what we expected. We upgraded to a room facing the golf course. The view decent. The staff were very friendly. The location is good if you're a golfer. Otherwise, I would rather be closer to the beach.
My primary complaint was the lack of central AC. I don't know if all rooms are setup this way but our room had a portable air conditioner. It does the job to cool the room but it is extremely loud and the compressor kicked on and off all night. If you can sleep in 72 degrees, you won't have a problem. If you are like my wife and I and like it 67-69 degrees, you may want to consider another hotel. It has a huge impact on a good night's sleep which is the main purpose for renting a hotel in the first place.
It's in Monterey, whaddya want?!
Very nice grounds. Facility and staff were very nice.
Rooms look nice but not very functional. Modern hand shower makes a mess and not easy to use. Indoor free standing A.C. unit is needed but is as loud as a train. Closet door won't stay shut. Ceiling fan wobbles and makes noise. Soda machines were down. Stupid small things that could be easily fixed.
Beautiful room, beautiful view and very convenient to all of down town
It seems the nicer the hotel, the less accommodations. No free coffee or breakfast, business center computers needed to have browsers updated, too many kids in the spa
Fabulous place to stay - everything was outstandin
