Cons: wifi was finicky.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Magnificent hotel, great breakfast, friendly knowledgeable staff
5,8 Okay
Pros: Walking distance (15 minutes ) to the river and other major places in Porto
Cons: The hotel is located at one of the main streets - so it is quite noisy. For this price I would expect higher standard.

Cons: Very noisy location
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Cool interior, friendly staff, clean rooms and nice breakfast. Also the location is very good - it is in the city centre so you can just walk to see all sights
Cons: I was a bit surprised about quality of internet connection - it was very slow and constantly disconnecting. There was too dark in the room, but i think it is by design

Pros: Everything!
6,8 Good
Cons: Very expensive but comfortable hotel somewhat on the edge of the main town (Although the setting is lovely it takes a good 45 mins to walk to the centre of Porto, so there is a constant stream of taxis).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: this hotel is very well located next to river Douro, very nice to spent some time in the pool; good breakfast, nice room and bathrom with the view of the river. The Palace is beautiful!
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The palace section was beautiful and the main attraction. The doorman Antonio was very welcoming and friendly. He was one of the highlights of my stay. The view from my room in the top floor was unforgettable. Sleeping with the windows open and listening to the sounds of the river at night was something to remember. The staff were very helpful with our late check in and keeping our bags safe.
Cons: I thought the room would match the look of the hotel. The rooms were lovely but standard. Unfortunately the coffee machine and the telephone didn’t work.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, beautiful building, friendly and efficient staff, wonderful resturant.
Cons: Room size and comfort; I expected more for 300 Euros
7,0 Good
Pros: Room was extremely small for price paid. Staff was polite and courteous, but not as welcoming as one would expect at this caliber of hotel. Young man, who assisted us with our bags upon arrival, was extremely friendly....had traveled to States and was very outgoing. Most others were polite, but not as out-reaching as one would expect in this level of hotel.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool area, good breakfast and large rooms.
Cons: Not located in the centre of town, so requires transportation.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting and facilities. Could do with an upgrade with additional lighting both internally & externally on stairways. It's also very poorly illuminated internally. No shelf provided in the bathroom to place personal items. The crane driver in the construction site opposite, used his binoculars to look into activities the hotel & pool area.
Cons: The architectural character of the hotel is exceptional and has been refurbished to a high standard. Its location, whilst outside of the main town is nice, as you could return in the late afternoon or the early evening from the hustle and bustle of the town and sit outside enjoying the silence in the beautiful setting of the river and environment.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are quite nice. No period details sadly, more modern, but well-appointed. The staff, especially one lady that worked every part of the bar and restaurant, were quite attentive and detailed. The palace itself was renovated in a wonderful way.
Cons: No complaints.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: We had the most wonderful stay at the hotel. The facilities are so beautiful and charming. We got upgraded to a room with beautiful view of the Douro and Porto. The staff specially the young men who checked us in made us feel so special and welcome and rest of the staff treated us like royalty too. We had a late night bite at the bar one night and the chef baked us lovely fresh bread. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to come back and stay with them again.
Cons: Getting lost on the property and trying to figure out our way.

6,8 Good
Pros: Location is super good. Staff are nice, friendly, ready to help and speak good English
Cons: My husband and I were not aware of that the top floor has no views at all. As we could only see a wall from the window and partial image of a castle unless we have the room facing the town hall. I did asked for a nice view, but this is not at all what we expected, a little disappointed.
9,5 Excellent

Pros: The breakfast, not even sure where to start it was absolutely delicious! Plenty of choice and staff were attentive to replenish through the breakfast serving hours. Staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful.
4,3 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: We have phoned several times to make a direct booking and no one answered the phone. The place is very very far away from the centre. We have booked for 1 child instead of 2 because it did not give us that option. There was only rooms left for 3 so the receptionist a man was very rude to us and carried on. It is not good value. The beds was also very bad quality and not good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds, central location, friendly staff, good air conditioning, and clean, well appointed rooms.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: A very nice little guesthouse in a great location if you want to experience the local Porto and not just the touristy side, even though all of that is quite close aswell. We loved everything about our stay!
Cons: The AC machine was in the downstairs part of the room, and the beds upstairs. It really does not help at all to keep it cool while sleeping.

Pros: Great Breakfast!
Cons: The Hotel’s concept, needs an upgrade; the ‘business alike environment, is somewhat outdated, cold and not necessarily ‘welcome’.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, luxurious rooms, very clean. Excellent breakfast service and a wonderful buffet. Knowledgeable staff and very quick to help. An example is that I needed a key replacement and there was a long line of people checking in. I went to the Guest Relations Manager to ask, and first she said I had to wait in line, but then she herself came over to open a counter and get me my key fast. The location is not a problem, we took Uber and it cost 7 euro to get to the bridge.
Cons: Well if I must find something I didn't like, I'd say the view from our room was nothing much, but then we were out most of the day, and the Club Room view was very nice, it had a balcony.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location was superb, situated right next to the river and in amongst bars and restaurants - food in all the restaurants was excellent. Breakfast in the hotel was good and the hotel bar was brilliant - very knowledgeable and entertaining bar staff. Doorman - Philippe I think - was a trove of information. Staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful Room was large, clean and bright, bed was comfortable with great pillows.
Cons: Bathrooms - shower was over the bath and if you left it mounted on the wall and turned on the water the pressure sent it everywhere, you could not stand under the shower you had to hold it. Bath very very small

Cons: It was all good.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful, particularly since we couldn't bring our car down the street due to the pedestrian traffic. The bellman helped us find a place to park and then carried all of our bags for us (we would have helped, but he said no) and got us checked in. Pros: Centrally located, lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Clean, modern interior, good AC, and everything looks in great shape.
Cons: Location is a little dodgy. Graffiti all over the place, homeless people sleeping steps away from the entrance. The hotel rooms, common areas, bars and restaurants were always spotless, and any issues were resolved immediately.

7,5 Good
Pros: The staff is very nice specially at the reception
Cons: The spa is 3 euros per hour + 5 euros for a swim cap. In other hotels it is free. First day the breakfast was very bad, good variety but croissant not fresh, fruits not fresh but the second day was better
7,5 Good
Pros: Food was above expectations.
Cons: The hotel has a handicap sticker at the entrance though this only includes physical handicaps. My autistic son had to wear a swimming cap in the SPA, which I totally understand, though I asked if there could be some empathy towards his neurological difference in case he didn’t wear it and it was denied. Luckily my son managed to wear the cap though The person responsible for the SPA did not show any compassion nor solution towards a possible outbreak of an autistic boy. The hotel made a discount of 8 euros to compensate me though not a single word was said to me from the person who allowed this 8euro discount - I could have given some insight about Autism for free. Btw, the SPA was 9euros. Although the rest was great, you need to be aware of people’s needs and until then, don’t show off a sticker at the entrance...
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Very good hotel would stay here again in future staff very friendly and helpful
9,3 Excellent
Cons: Room , cleanliness, location
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet is very good with a lot of breads and pastries. Location is OK if you have a car.
Cons: The pool /spa Is very small. The changing room is too small and the floor is always wet and slippery. You have to pay to access the pool for one hour, and don’t forget to bring a swimming cap otherwise you’ll have to buy one.

Cons: The room door could not be locked (room 712) and a few things didn't work in the spa.
10,0 Excellent

Cons: No negative points.

Cons: The only thing that slowed things down was a problem with the Wi-Fi not working. Apart from that, nothing to change.
7,0 Good
Pros: Room were spacious and bathroom facilities we're good.
Cons: Hot breakfast options were a bit unusual. A bit out from centre if town.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hotel in a pleasant district (though off the beaten track a bit) . Staff very helpful and professional. Excellent range of treats for breakfast. A pretty chilled, easy going stay in a unique city.
Cons: Wi-fi was hit and miss. Disappeared for 1 1/2 days but good excuse to ignore my iPad/work phone. Decor in room was a cross between Star Trek sick bay and a good Premier Inn. But would happily stay again as good value.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked this hotel! We arrived late, near 11pm but the reception was above amazing. They recommended a local cafefor last minute food, much appreciated. The hotel is really clean, professional, pretty much amazing value for money.
Cons: Nothing, this was a good hotel
7,5 Good
Pros: Everything was right, specially the staff of the hotel. Breakfast was good as well.
Cons: I didn't like the noisy neighbours next to our room. The walls were too thin.
7,5 Good
Pros: - big rooms - amazing breakfast
Cons: - machine noise from room next to me (work) from 7:30 AM - bad smell in bathroom
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Modern in corner of old.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean hotel. Great location just out of the main tourist areas. Good metro links nearby. Brilliant breakfast.
Cons: The light behind the television not clearly marketed where to turn off. I spent a good hour looking for the tiny hidden switch which I still didn’t find. I had to ask in the end. Air conditioning had no instructions either. Difficult to work out.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very very welcoming and very helpful. We arrived early in the morning (9:30 a.m), our room was not prepared yet (that is normal), to wait we wanted to take a breakfast outside. When we asked the staff member at the reception where we could have breakfast in the hotel area he offered us the breakfast! It was very kind! Concerning the facilities everything is perfect : the room was big, comfortable (particularly the bed and the pillows) and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and we recommend this hotel!
Cons: We did not really like the breakfast. It is a buffet with plenty of choice but the quality of the meals was not really good.

Cons: Excellently sized rooms

Breakfast buffet was really good with lots of choices to try !! The front desk was attentive and responsive to our requests!! I will definitely come back!!
9,3 Excellent
Pros: We were there for our wedding Anniversary; our first time in Porto. The hotel is a little way out of the City but it didn’t feel as if it was too far out. We walked everyday. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and also provided the extra special things to make our stay more comfortable. Would stay there again and would also recommend others to do so too. Well done Cristal!!
Cons: Nothing!!

Cons: - - - -
6,8 Good
Pros: The room was large, had space for suitcases, was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. The staff at the front desk were nice.
Cons: It has parking space, but the value is 10 € / day. Breakfast was until 10.30am, from 10am the staff started to set up tables in the breakfast room, so they made noise and the quiet was over. I do not know if it was just that day, or if it's frequent. For a 4 stars hotel this is not ok. Noise from outside the hotel, maybe air conditioning. That was only the bad thing in the hotel.
7,5 Good
Pros: Took pack lunch. Sandwich bread too thick for the thin filling.
Cons: Reception didn't point out the wifi code on my door card wallet, so I couldn't find it looking in the manual in the room.

9,3 Excellent
Pros: Elegant and updated with beautiful bar area, great location in pedestrian zone near a mall, good breakfast
Cons: Small rooms (but nice tall ceilings), no parking at the time of our visit (the hotel recommends a public parking garage a block away and validates the parking for a discount, but bring cash because credit cards were not currently accepted)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Hotel in a perfect location. Roof terrace is great to hang at night for a nightcap.
Cons: Parking.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Ok
Cons: Night Staff /potier did not know how to open the Gate to the Hotel. So we had to carry ourselves all the luggage 200 metres
7,0 Good
Pros: Location, breakfast was wonderful !!!!
Cons: Very small room
8,3 Excellent
Pros: An elegant, older historic hotel in heart of city off a pedestrian street with shopping and restaurants. Very good breakfast was served and included in cost. Staff were very helpful.
Cons: Hotel is still undergoing renovation currently on the second floor. However, we had a room on the third floor that has yet to be renovated, so it is older and not very attractive with dull brown hallways and dull lighting. The hotel has renovated the first floor and almost finished the second, so it should be much more attractive and comfortable in the future. No hotel private parking, so had to park in a garage located about 10-15 minute walk with luggage walking uphill most of the way.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great - right on the main shopping street. Breakfast was good in a beautiful dining room
Cons: Aircon did not work well
4,5 Okay
Cons: Paying 660 euro for four nights I have excpected more elegant room than I have got, ! The hotel has too much exagerated advertasment .Do not belive nice pictures in the internet !!

Pros: The hotel was beautiful and the staff exceptional. Would highly recommend.

Pros: The situation, it’s clean
Cons: A little bit noisy
9,3 Excellent
Pros: I can completely recommend this beautiful place for staying. We were there for two nights and we had everything, what we need. Kind and helpful personnel, amazing breakfest, clean room with comfortable bed and with the balcony. Top.
Cons: Only traffic is loud in the early morning, but you can close the windows of course.
6,3 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful, making an effort to help us get around Portugal and how to use the Metro etc. which was only a street away. Breakfast was typical Portuguese /Mediterranean style. We were offered a welcome drink on arrival, which was nice.
Cons: Really disappointed with the room: Box like, top floor, no space, nowhere to put anything. Very strange copper pipe coming vertically from the ceiling down over the bedhead........if this was an art form, it could have put someone's eye out!! The twin beds were narrow and hard. The window opened out over a restaurant next door, with a view of the rear air conditioning units, so the noise and reverberations of the units went on until at least 2 in the morning, combined with the loud noise and people in the restaurant. Therefore our sleep was minimal. The bathroom was small and cramped, and again, no shelves to put toiletries on. We mentioned this to the manager on duty and asked for a change of room, but unfortunately none were available. We think this was not an appropriate room to offer guests.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Perfect position to explore Porto, just 2 minutes of walk from the subway. The room was clean and quiet at night. Great breakfast!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Very friedly staff. Very clean. Beautiful bathroom. Not noisy. Very nice outside area!

9,5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly & efficient staff. Very comfortable beds. Good selection for beakfast. Very clean.
Cons: Asked for twin beds, surprised to find two beds side-by-side .. but was able to move one, to separate them!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and good breakfast provided
Cons: It’s a bit of a walk to the centre
5,8 Okay
Cons: It was advertised as free parking on premises but then when I got there I had to park and pay extra when I only picked that hotel because of the parking.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff very helpful.
Cons: Nothing really.

9,3 Excellent
Pros: Location is a little out from the centre which we liked as it was good to travel from centrally to the whole area. We got to the fish restaurants, the port cellars, the beaches and the centre for very little money really spent on taxis.
Cons: We had to change rooms whilst there as we had 3 nights of crazy noise from the room next door (shouting and screaming youngsters who thought they were in Ibiza?) the hotel changed our room immediately. My only real gripe was the toaster at breakfast (petty I know) but it was beyond slow. Invest in a belt type one and save us guests 5 minutes of boredom. My only gripe.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Service, buffet, room size, water pressure, bed linen
Cons: More sound insulation could hear through walls
7,0 Good
Pros: Nice hotel not sure on location..
Cons: Neighbourhood wasn't great..

Cons: Explained in previous...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent well appointed property with a very good breakfast -nice reception and bar area
Cons: Pool a little small with no sun loungers
6,2 Good
Pros: Fantastic staff. Good breakfast. Bar and restaurant facilities were good.
Cons: Could hear everything from the next room. It felt like I was staying in a cheap motel on Interstate 75. Rooms were nice but this is no five star hotel. Very slow internet that was not password protected.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Great service Lovely breakfast Clean room
4,3 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff , good breakfast.
Cons: Pool area not relaxing. Uncomfortable seating, and too noisy.
5,5 Okay
Pros: Very clean hotel, nice staff.
Cons: This is not great if you want to sleep in after 9am. You can hear all the cleaners and noises from the flats around you. I complained to the reception and did not get any feedback. The swimming pool and terrace are very small and the photos are misleading. The lifts started moving without closing the doors so this is a serious health and safety hazard! This cannot be a 5* hotel. I was very disappointed!
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Quiet but convenient
Cons: A little far from downtown
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Private parking. Taxis outside and very reasonable.
Cons: It was a little far out from the center, which required taxis (very reasonable) or bus to most places. Pool was very small and with the bar right beside it, not suitable for children to enjoy freely.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The beds and linens were very comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient and the lobby was very nice. The concierge was excellent.
Cons: There was no doorman or bell hop to help with suitcases when you arrive at the hotel. There were no lounge chairs at the pool making it impossible to relax and enjoy a swim and some sun as the chairs on the rooftop are very uncomfortable. The gym was horrible! Dirty, horrible lighting, broken machines and old dirty worn equipment, and no nice amenities for a 5* hotel. The wifi kept on disconnecting when in the room.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Beds were quite comfortable, with the room having a nice design. Room and toilet amenities were nice and staff at reception friendly and able to provide good local information.
Cons: Room was awfully warm. The only option to make it cooler was by turning off the A/C and opening the window - somewhat unacceptable for a hotel of this price! The temperature of the water in the shower also could be adjusted to cold - either too hot or warm. Breakfast was nice enough, though poor considering a price of 13 euros.
4,5 Okay
Pros: Location was only redeeming factor
Cons: At 17.00 hrs the room was not yet cleaned, I received a lame excuse the cleaner was stuck in traffic. I find this bad management and an unacceptable excuse. Flat was musty and Airco did not respond and most importantly WiFi was dead and not operational.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic shower and bed. Super staff
Cons: Limited breakfast
7,0 Good
Cons: The air conditioner only gave out HOT air !!! The room was hopelessly hot and there was no way to cool it except opening windows that only open partially
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and good size rooms
Cons: Breakfast was poor
7,5 Good
Pros: Clean, contemporary, friendly staff.
Cons: The location is pretty lousy unless you are attending a football match at the nearby stadium or want to shop at the adjacent shopping mall.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were brilliant always helpful and accommodating. Very good understanding and speakers of English which was very helpful
Cons: The room was dated and floor and curtains noticeably dirty, other than this room was was clean and cleaners did a good job tidying each day. Other thing I didn't like was the price of gin and tonic too expensive
7,5 Good
Pros: The restaurant and bar are a team
Cons: The reception desk while checking out! She had no patience, I didn't understand her English either and all she wanted to know is about the breakfast we were to pay
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff on reception were superb..... especially Eunice , Rita and Nuno .... just brilliant!
