Pros: Great location and breakfast in Vogue cafe
Cons: The bathroom accessories could have milder perfume, now it’s lemon. Not everyone likes. Also tea/coffee sets could be included in the room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great service, beautifully appointed, very convenient. We appreciated the woman at the front desk who understood we had no interest in bus tours and gave wonderful recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants.
Cons: wifi was finicky.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast excellent, very good service. Once you get orientation it is a good location for trains and tube.
Cons: It is marked wrongly on the city map that everyone uses and is passed out at the airport, leads to a little difficulty iterating in on the hotel.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The old character of the hotel has been maintained but it's not dated. The staff are all super professional & friendly. Great location. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: A kettle in the room for a cup of tea/coffee would have been nice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. The suite was comfortable and clean. Very luxurious
Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Can’t really explain how but you get a filling of traveling back in time. Riding an elevator with a couch inside was just one of small wonders while staying there. The room was large and nothing to complain about.
Cons: Reaching the property by car is a little confusing with no market space where to park while checking in.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, fabulous breakfast, very good location. Staff was excellent. No on site parking however, 29 euros per night to park, but, they valet park for you with no extra charge.

Pros: Cool interior, friendly staff, clean rooms and nice breakfast. Also the location is very good - it is in the city centre so you can just walk to see all sights
Cons: I was a bit surprised about quality of internet connection - it was very slow and constantly disconnecting. There was too dark in the room, but i think it is by design

Cons: The walls of the pool and the Turkish steam bath has not been cleaned for a long time. Same also for our shower walls in our room.

Pros: Breakfast was wonderful - beautifully laid out and with so many options. We walked into Porto once but the weather did not allow us to explore the neighbourhood around the hotel much. We did visit the Printing Museum right next door to the hotel which is well worth a visit.
Cons: Although there was a hotel shuttle into Porto, the times were a little limited and more often than not we ended up taking a taxi.

Fine Arts Guesthouse - Porto - Building
4
9,2 Excellent (894 reviews)
R1 251+
Overview Reviews
A stay at Fine Arts Guesthouse places you in the heart of Porto, within a 15-minute walk of Bolhao Market and Dom Luis I Bridge. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is a nicely decorated guesthouse (almost like a hotel) full with, as you can guess, modern art. The interior and room are clean. The room was cleaned every day. The breakfast is also good with choice of boiled eggs, bread, toast(er), various sweet cakes & sweet pastries, ham, cheese, cereal, yoghurts, etc. When we arrived and told we were visiting Porto for the first time the lady explained us on a map the most important areas. Staff speaks English. You can walk everything but using Uber or the cheaper Bolt app it is extremely easy to get anywhere. The city center is just 10 - 20 minutes walking away. If you have a rental car you can park for free in the next block (65 meters away)
Cons: The quality of the beds.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast, friendly staff, excellent studio apartment lovely bathroom and comfy beds.
Cons: Happy with it all - no complaints whatsoever !
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome, complimentary drink, very comfortable room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Easy come and go attitude, all of us had keys for access even though reception was available until 10 pm, 5 euros in a taxi to the centre and 30 from the airport, caters for adults or families all made welcome, brilliant.
Cons: Really lovely friendly people, made us all welcome in very comfortable surroundings, clean and tidy and the breakfast was free with a wide choice to choose from, we were on a early flight and food was put in our fridge as we would miss breakfast, Thank you all so much for our stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean away from tourist part of town.Great breakfast . Helpful and very kind staff. We’d stay again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great staffs, clean, good location, we were well looked after
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent and although we had to leave early they still prepared a breakfast for us and had it delivered to our room.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Simple, modern, stylish and well located. Out of the busy streets area. We had a small studio with a kitchenette and a couch, which is more than what we needed, but gave us extra comfort and space. The location is just a 5 to 6 minute walk from the "Campo 24 de Agosto" metro station. Walking distance (15 minutes) to the edge of the city centre, for people that like to walk. Small convenience stores and cafés just around the corner. Staff is very knowledgeable and gave us great tips on what and what not to do. Breakfast has a bit of both worlds with plenty of sweet and enough savoury: will make both Portuguese and International guests happy.
Cons: The sound dampening between rooms is not the best: we could easily hear people going up and down the stairs in the room next door. Unfortunately it is allowed to smoke outside the rooms, so you may get some cigarette smell in your studio if other guests are smoking outside in the shared patio (and your windows are open).

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, luxurious rooms, very clean. Excellent breakfast service and a wonderful buffet. Knowledgeable staff and very quick to help. An example is that I needed a key replacement and there was a long line of people checking in. I went to the Guest Relations Manager to ask, and first she said I had to wait in line, but then she herself came over to open a counter and get me my key fast. The location is not a problem, we took Uber and it cost 7 euro to get to the bridge.
Cons: Well if I must find something I didn't like, I'd say the view from our room was nothing much, but then we were out most of the day, and the Club Room view was very nice, it had a balcony.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I was very happy to stay in the hotel this week.
Cons: The restaurant starts only at 20:00 in the night (while only bar opens in the evening). I think the restaurant should open at least from 19:00.

Cons: The room was a bit outdated.
8,0 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed during a friend's birthday and the hotel management surprised us with a cake and sparkling wine waiting for us in the room when we arrived in the evening. High quality service and spacious, clean rooms!
Cons: We had a small issue with 2 missing wine glasses and 2 coffee glassess, which was solved that same evening (to be fair, their heart was in the right place. The cleaning service mistaken them as the hotel's and took them to be cleaned and polished).
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is located few minuets from the center, breakfast with a good variety, restaurant with good menu and excellent service.
Cons: None

Cons: The hotel rooms are very old, definitely needs a refurbishment if they consider themselves a 5-star hotel. Also, the spa was not working and there was no announcement on the website about it. Staff very unresponsive, room was not ready at 3pm (when the check-in should be available).

Cons: 30 min walk from the city center (tip: on the first days we took the fastest way, indicated by google maps, which is not nice - so we decided to go by the river which is a bit longer but much prettier!)

Pros: I didn't realize breakfast was included in the rate! That was great to find out and it was a terrific spread -- baked goods, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, coffees, teas, cereals! I loved the high ceilings -- it made the room feel extra spacious. Everything was well maintained and gorgeous. The bar opened at 1500 and the prices were great for drinks!

Pros: Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful hotel!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel, in a fabulous location. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was great. I could not fault anything about this hotel, my only recommendation would be to improve their Wi-Fi and perhaps a kettle or coffee maker in the room would be nice.
Cons: Wi-Fi
9,1 Excellent
Pros: The historic atmosphere, the breakfast and location
Cons: Too dark..ALL WINDOWS WERE COVERED
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Spaces for conversation. General facilities. Location.
Cons: Nothing worthy of reporting.
3,4 Mediocre
Pros: Central location
Cons: Hotel is very difficult to find - I drove past it twice as the sign out front is tiny. Staff was brusque and disinterested. Breakfast was mediocre food with limited options, although the dining room is quite beautiful. Air conditioner in room was ineffective - had it on max all night but room temperature only dropped 2 degrees. Wifi was very slow, when it worked. Parking was inefficient - took about 20 minutes to retrieve my car. Bathroom layout is dangerous - both my friend and I fell when trying to step out of the shower. In summary, I could have paid half this price to stay at a business 4* in the same neighborhood, but I paid more to stay here because I wanted the historic, 'grand' experience. When I showed up, none of that was here- instead it felt like a bad hostel.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The staff was very nice and the rooms that most of us have a beautiful. The breakfast was a problem. It was the same food and it was really mediocre. The only thing I had was the oranges, and the rest of us didn’t eat breakfast there at all. It is not worth the money that we paid extra.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location. Grand lobby and bar. Elegant room. Great breakfast
Cons: Parking in public garage ok but a good walk away.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very polite, helpful and accommodating.
Cons: Hot food for breakfast could have been a bit better. only a minor comment, as we really enjoyed our stay
7,7 Good
Pros: Breakfast is great
Cons: The bedroom is too small

Pros: The hotel staff was amazing. The breakfast was top notch. The hotel was comfortable, easy to find, and the location was perfect.
Cons: The only thing that slowed things down was a problem with the Wi-Fi not working. Apart from that, nothing to change.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good location, close to metro and with shopping centers around, for walk-lovers a nice distance to go downtown and discover things when the weather is fine (alternative: the taxi to airport costs 20 EUR and to go downtown around 7 EUR). Nice modern design, spacious and well equipped rooms, big dressing, with Wi-Fi, Good daily cleaning. Breakfast is the same every day, but has little bit of everything to satisfy different tastes and it lasts till 10:30. It was a very good quality for the price paid. Many thanks for the enjoyable stay in Porto!
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: Staff was friendly. Manager tried to accommodate our needs.
Cons: Construction noise! We had our room moved to a “quieter” room but still we were bothered by the noise. The location was more for business people and not in the historic center of town which I asked for in the filters during looking for a hotel. The hotels should not say they are close to historic spots if they are not!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is served between 7am and 10:30am. The staff is very helpful and will bring additional food to the table if needed. The choice of breakfast is vast and will suit people with food allergies (eg gluten free bread). Very good service and attentative staff, eg the receptionist volunteer to speak to a guide company on my behalf and organis a pick up time.
Cons: Not much to say really. The furnishings are slightly outdated, eg corridor carpets, but this is not a major problem as hotel is clean and tidy and offers high standards for 4 stars.
7,0 Good
Cons: Noise in hallways. Noise from renovation on floors below. Cleaning maid opening door without question. Pillows too soft.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good nights sleep
Cons: Excellently sized rooms

As the hotel was only a third full I pleaded with the manager to override one of the payments, whereupon I was told under no circumstances was this going to happen Bitterly disappointed I wasn't even offered something as a gesture of good will. Unhelpful manager and staff . We will find a friendlier hotel next time.

Cons: For people that don’t like to walk towards the downtown area, this hotel is a bit far for that (less than 2 miles). If you do love walking, it is great! It is located in a commercial area, so it is not out of the action completely.

Pros: Excelent location. Great for a family, close to every tourist site. Would stay ther again.
Cons: The only point is the parking lot. Even with a partnership, 24 euros a day is very expansive... But it's a city condition, not hotel's...

Pros: It is a wonderful hotel, bright and good equipped. And Good location that it is not far from the city centre. Breakfast is ample and rich! More important, the staffs are very kind!
Cons: It rained so much for two days when we stayed there!
7,0 Good
Pros: I loved the ambience of the reception area the glass mirrors and chandeliers gave it a feel of luxury at a very reasonable price. I would stay there again, if youre not frightened of venturing into non tourist areas its great.
Cons: I was slightly disappointed by the fact that most of the menu options included pork, saying that the non pork options were very tasty however because I dont eat pork I was left with a lack of choice. €15 for dinner which I though was reasonable untill I realised that I couldnt eat much of it & €9 for breakfast.

Pros: The breakfast was fabulous, a lot of choice of everything. The room was very big, also the bed which was also very comfortable. Everything was splotless.
Cons: The gym was not available because of the reconstruction, which would be OK if they would write this fact in the description. One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was actually the gym and when we arrived we could not use it.
6,2 Good
Pros: Fantastic staff. Good breakfast. Bar and restaurant facilities were good.
Cons: Could hear everything from the next room. It felt like I was staying in a cheap motel on Interstate 75. Rooms were nice but this is no five star hotel. Very slow internet that was not password protected.

Cons: Service déplorable. Très loins d'un 5 étoiles.

Pros: The price was reasonable and the hotel was decently close to the center of town.

Pros: Good breakfast. location quite central
Cons: I paid in cash for my stay in full upon checking out on the 26.01.2020 (3 nights + city tax + mini bar). To my surprise I found that I was debited EUR82 to my Mastercard (details of which were only given as a guarantee, at least that what I was told upon Check In). Up to the time I am taking this survey, ie. a full week after I left the hotel they had still not refunded me.

7,0 Good
Pros: Nice room, very cold though.
Cons: Poor breakfast, not having natural orange juice seems incredibly in a 4 stars hotel, poor bread too. Air conditioning not very effective and very noisy even in low fan mode.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: At check-in, the clerk gave us explicit information on how to get to the metro and everything there is to do in Porto. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The hotel lobby, restaurant and room were modern and clean.
Cons: We had dinner at the restaurant the first night and I must say it was the most awful pizza I ever ate. Moreover, the strange, artificial decor on the tables looked very unappetizing.
7,5 Good
Pros: Look nice but at the time I came the Spa was closed
Cons: Nice and clean, the breakfast should be better

Pros: Location, shower was modern, building had character
Cons: Tax on stay
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is just down the road from the main city square and just a 5 minute walk to Sao Bento train station which has a direct link to the Airport
Cons: The only drawback is that you can hear the occupants in the next room
7,0 Good
Pros: Great location - friendly staff and I liked the old building. Breakfast was good - I didn’t find out it doesn’t start until 7:45 before booking and that would be useful information. The room was fine - it was on the third floor and on a side street so less noise from revellers.
Cons: I asked for a double bed and got twin beds - the bed was firmer than I like as were the pillows. There was a kettle and cups but no tea or coffee provided - the guy in reception offered to send some up within the hour and it didn’t come. I missed breakfast on my last day due to my flights - it would have been possible if they started at 7:00. The hotel is good value but the rooms aren’t well soundproofed - I could hear too much from the next room and when people hung out on the landing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is just wonderful and perfect in this Hotel with the best value for money .. the staff was so nice and kind and the Room is just perfect and clean .. the breakfast is also very tasty .. Location is perfect .. I highly recommand this hotel and wish to come again as soon as possible
