10,0 Excellent
Pros: An excellent location and amiability of the hosts and fellow guests. Very confortable bed. Interesting tales of South Africa and generally a very enjoyable break. Good restaurants nearby - Stones most excellent scoff and the Italian was also very good. Highly recommended.
Cons: There is limited parking on the road but our hosts made it very easy for us by moving their car. Also limited parking in the town but you can walk easily from the B&B. We're lucky to live in Ely in east anglia where we have free and extensive parking, no doubt this will change given the curent car hating culture and media driven climate change hysteria.

Pros: Close to the wedding venue .... next door. Excellent food
5,4 Okay
Cons: Accommodation was above a pub which we hadn’t realised Pub had a dog which was barking late night and early morning Not enough car parking spaces
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful stay in a beautiful historic building overlooking Whitworth Park and Lake. 'Peak Rail' is 5 minutes down the road where you can watch the steam trains and take a nostalgic ride into the lovely Matlock. The hotel is in a great location for public transport (bus stop 2 minutes away and goes to Bakewell, Matlock and Derby) There is a co-op over the road, pharmacy, newsagents and also a fish and chip shop, chinese, butchers, coffee shop and deli and a discount store nearby. Whitworth centre next to the hotel has local history about the great engineer Sir Joseph Whitworth and also a tea room serving delicious snacks and cakes overlooking the park. Great for children as there is a playground and plenty of green space to run about. Popular for dog owners too. Our room was very comfortable with a four poster bed, seating area and en-suite bathroom with a shower over bath with toiletries. The usual tea and coffee making facilities. We will definitely be back.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A really interesting building with lots of character. We’d booked the “small double” which was fine-it had everything we needed. The room was a good size-it was the en-suite that was a little cozy, but the shower was big. My 6foot4 husband coped ok! The food was really really good-we had dinner there. Good prices and really well presented and delicious meals. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff. This is in a great location-really near Matlock, Bakewell, Haddon Hall sand Chatsworth. There’s also the peak railway just down the road do you can go and see the steam trains.
Cons: The only thing that was hard was the parking-there’s room for about 10 cars, but it was packed when we got there. You can park on the road nearby though.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent especially the breakfast
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and the food was very good the breakfast was exceptional at £7.50 & large room. It's an old Victorian pub on the corner of a Park and on a busy road - but great value for money & easy to get local places of interest if you're driving.
Cons: Not Barrington's fault - I didn't realize how far from Matlock Bath it was - it's not walkable and you need to drive in & parking was a nightmare there. The fairly small car park is at the front (the back is for the conference center) but my car was fine for a couple of days.

5,8 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good & the location was picturesque. You walk out into a beautiful village that has a nice little corner shop, a COOP supermarket nearby.
Cons: There was a pair of eyelashes left on the cabinet in the room, really grossed out my wife, kind of shows the room may not have been cleaned. The bed really needs a new mattress. The toilet could not be used & the staff did allow us to use the next rooms bathroom but really should have upgraded us to that room.
