5,0 Okay
Pros: Situated beautifully. The breakfast and swimming pool were the only nice things about the stay.
Cons: The room was absolutely vile. The floor was dirty, not hoovered and stained. Disappointing for my husbands birthday after going on the positive reviews. Very dated. Stated beautiful views - we had a roof!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place beautiful
Cons: Nothing
6,3 Good
Pros: The location is absolutely gorgeous.
Cons: Swimming pool is away from the hotel and located up on the hill! WiFi is only available in Lobby area with no connectivity in the room! Toilet shower was either super hot or cold, no balancing.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Stunning location - very nice staff
Cons: The hotel is not designed for business travelers / use. All public areas are taken over by families so noisy. The room was very basic and dated, I stayed for 4 nights and they only changed / made my room up once, had to ask for clean towels.
7,0 Good
Pros: The hotel is beautiful in beautiful scenery. Our room was huge and lovely and warm. Just a 10 minute walk from a lovely pub called The Boat House in Cromford which is fab and serves great food. Swimming pool was a bonus and towels were provided as well. Breakfast was nice, good choice and plenty warm enough. Staff were very friendly. We booked very last minute through booking com and got a great bargain - not sure I would pay the standard rate as it was almost 3 times what we paid.
Cons: I cant really fault anything hugely. The decor was a bit tired and dated but I expected that with it being a castle. Shower could have been a bit better as shower head was very small and went cold mid shower a couple of times.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Ambience Location /grounds Value Cleanliness Service
Cons: Wifi in the Mews. Distance from the hotel to the pool.

Pros: Nice and quiet, cosy, breakfast was lovely couldnt of asked for anything better
5,0 Okay
Pros: Very friendly and professional staff. Food at dinner was very good.
Cons: We found room 12 in the cottage very small. Too little space for our toiletries in the bathroom (more shelf space is needed, now just a stool and top of toilet cistern), also there is no hook for hanging e.g. pyjamas or a dressing gown. In the room one would expect to have hooks for hanging outdoor coats/jackets. The floor of the small wardrobe is occupied with extra pillows and blankets and a fan. It's not for outdoor clothes, particularly if they are damp or wet. When you undress, the only space for clothes is either the floor or the big and heavy armchair (which has seen better days). When you want to plug in a phone charger or kettle, you have to move the chair and crawl under the smallish tabletop to find the extension cable, fixed one foot from the corner. - We ended in this room because I didn't notice to mention we have a small dog with us, and it was the only available ground floor room available at arrival. Pets are allowed in ground floor rooms only. However, I would not expect to find a room of this quality in a reputable Country House Hotel.

Pros: Rooms really lovely comfortable & clean...great for night/weekend away with your dog just don’t rely on this place connecting your stay with needing food as rooms separate to pub...staff not bothered !
Cons: We stayed Christmas Eve we got up on Christmas Day to staff not wanting to make us any breakfast! So disappointed we were never asked what we required for our stay at all...
8,0 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good checkin in was easy drinks good nice rooms all clean breakfast plentiful hosts sociable and always a smile took time out to come and speak to us to make sure we were ok very friendly would definitely recommend
9,0 Excellent
Pros: As other reviews said the accommodation is in little cabin type room out the back. It is very private and quiet. our room was small but perfectly adequate and very clean. The water was hot. The pub in the evening had a nice atmosphere and had a real fire, very cosy.
Cons: The pub is located at the top of a steep long hill. If you want to walk into town you go down the long hill, it take 20mins. The walk back is a good work out. A taxi would make this irreverent.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the cosy rooms kids loved the bunk beds. Rooms so clean and bright. Fab pub to. Will definitely go back
Cons: Nothing really.
7,0 Good
Pros: We really liked our little family room - my son had a separate room which was a lovely surprise and there were some toys there as well. They were aimed at younger children than my son but I was impressed at the gesture. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. Overall, we thought it was excellent value for money in the Peak District.
Cons: A little fridge would be useful but that's all really.
10,0 Excellent
