Cons: The first room(=suite), the decoration
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location with incredible views and an excellent restaurant. The staff is very nice an helpful and arrange for us a private visit of old Lyon with a great guide Ingeborg. We will go back.
Cons: Freezing swimming pool. We were told that it was 25 Celsius and another couple were told ti was 28 Celsius booking. I swim everyday and I certain that it was around 22 Celsius.

Cons: Shower in bath Breakfast a little expensive
4,6 Okay
Pros: The physical property and location were attractive.
Cons: The air conditioning did not cool the room. Only had one power outlet which worked sporadically. The hair dryer didn’t work. Makeup mirror was too high and too far.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, especially Pauline, made us feel very welcome from the onset. Great room with all mod cons. Hotel ideal position for ‘ old Lyon’
Cons: Having to go up and down 200+ steps to the ‘old town’. But can forgive that as great hotel.

7,7 Good
Pros: The staff were all young and obliging very nice experience
Cons: The rooms were not very comfortable with only only place to relax really bring the bed but I guess that's what you call funky!!
6,7 Good
Pros: Hotel is cute and somewhat chic, secure and with friendly staff. We had access to the lounge which had decent light food that saved us from going out to a restaurant. I also took a river view room and the view was great at night and in the morning from the balcony.
Cons: Outdated decor and old spring mattresses. Basic breakfast, and tiny sub-par gym. Bathroom door is a glass sliding door and for the life of me I could not understand why they made it a clear, sliding glass door that doesn't really give you privacy or make your spouse, family, friend (whichever applies) uncomfortable.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: If you want something truly unique then you can try this concept of hotel. Additionally, good location near the city centrum is a great advantage.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcoming place, stilish, clean, ask for the river view room. Very appreciated the complimentary aperitif and the breakfast was excellent. It is at same time a smart place and caring for details.
Cons: I stayed there one night only and everything was perfect.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Located well, from walking distance everywhere in the centre. Stuff was polite and helpful. Easygoing service. Liked a lot room, nice and tidy, modem decorated. The club with all its services, was extraordinary and surprised us positively. Very good breakfast, snacks all day long, and evening aperos. Really like the concept! Hope visiting again!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The room is super quiet and the bed is very comfortable
Cons: Breakfast was a little too simple but then not many hotels include the breakfast, so can’t complain
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the club feel of the hotel. The fact that food, wine etc. was all on hand and free (within reason) was great. Perfect location to explore a brilliant city.
Cons: Parking was a little difficult, but nothing to worry about too much.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location Nice and modern hotel, very clean The snacks that they have during all the day, especially in the evening
Cons: There wasn't cover to shower so the water was flowed to all the bath floor The breakfast is with limited choises
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The full OKKO experince is a very pleasant one. The rooms are on the small-stingy side but the downstairs lounge makes up for this. And the best part about this hotel is the staff. They are so nice, helpful people :) always trying to please. They are quite an asset for this hotel.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Stayed for 2 days, it was as great stay great view from the room, bathroom a little small but everything else was nice, the staff is great thanks
Cons: Small bathroom
9,0 Excellent
Pros: ,Small room' but very clean 10 from 10 to the staff
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the free snacks, breakfast, endless soft drinks/water. The rooms were cozy as well with really comfortable beds and pillows. Staff is also very friendly. The manager saw our big suitcase and gave us a bigger room, so we could be comfortable. I thought that was really nice, and he always had a smile on his face!
Cons: The bathroom door was a little uncomfortable because it was heavy and wouldn't stay open, but that was a minor discomfort compared to everything else.

Pros: The spa was beautiful!!! And the pool was great. Location is perfect.
Cons: Breakfast was too expensive so we didn't take it. The room was a little dark.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is wonderful. It is located in a very nice area in Lyon center. We arrived with motorbike and we had to enter in a restricted area (not sure we were allowed to do that ... thank you google maps for that), but we managed anyway to reach the hotel. If you go there by car, be sure to contact the property in advance to get information how to reach easily the hotel. As soon as we entered we noticed that the hotel was different from the usual ones. It is like being inside a castle, with a small square at the center (the restaurant) and all the rooms around it on many floors. Our room was very nice, on 3 floors. Living room on floor 0 Bathroom on floor 1 and Bedroom on the last floor. When we opened the WC room we were very surprised and happy ... there was a bidet !!! First time in my life in Hotel outside Italy. The Hotel is well located in the center of the city, so many places are at walking distance from the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay there, when we'll go back to Lyon we will book for sure again this hotel
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Being able to live in a 16th century building, in the midst of a 16th century neighborhood, with modern creature comforts
Cons: Not enough light in the room and no place in the room to sit and read. There wasn’t even one decent chair.. The bathroom was poorly designed. There was lots of room for a separate shower and two sinks but instead they installed a needlessly large tub and then surrounded it a tiled box.great place to experience lyon
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location in center of old city. Great staff. Beautiful, quiet common areas.
Cons: Nothing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is located in Old Lyon and it does not disappoint on charm and character! Our room as unique and comfortable. We visited the spa after arrival and enjoyed the sauna and pool for the afternoon. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Wish we could have stayed an additional night!
2,5 Mediocre
Cons: The hotel say me which I need to pay one more time and it’s very hard because I pay first time with booking I don’t understand what happen
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The Spa is great, I spent most of the time alone in there, perfect. The staff were very friendly and professional. The building is beautiful, clean, unique. The roof garden was also nice, be sure to go to very top for view of city. Location is very good too, in the heart of the old town, great restaurants
Cons: I was given an upgrade, which felt more like a downgrade or side grade, I booked a room with a bath and received a shower, luckily I was very close to the spa which was open late. Although the whole place was clean, there was a used plaster in the shower. And we didn't book breakfast burly for the 27 euro price tag, I have had amazing expensive breakfasts before for far less and with a far better selection. But I would definitely return again.
8,3 Excellent
Cons: Really difficult to access if you have a car
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Service was Exceptional Unreal Restaurant Romantic Great bar and Lounge English a non-issue (if you don't speak French) Very Comfortable
Cons: Room was a bit small and shower/tub was quirky but to be expected being used to American Hotels.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Position in the old town was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Macaron the concierge, who happens to have four paws, whiskers and purrs! The architecture is stunning, the restaurant is sublime and the bar very cosy and friendly, with superb olives!
Cons: Nothing

Hotel Silky By Happyculture - Lyon - Building
6
8,7 Excellent (1 397 reviews)
R2 107+
Overview Reviews
The 4-star Silky Hotel is part of the HappyCulture Collection. HappyCulture is about forty addresses in France and as many experiences to discover. Young but cultivating the sense of values, the brand declines here as elsewhere its signature: to please, to multiply the small attentions which make the great happiness. The 46 rooms with their different colours reveal pretty mouldings and cornices, in a cosy and contemporary bourgeois house spirit. Beautiful ceiling height, Italian shower, retro and graphic decoration...
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The free water
Cons: Was disappointed that they did not have a kettle for me and the coffee machine in our room did not dispense hot water, at best it was dispensing barely hot water which made it unable for me to make tea
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very well decorated
Cons: Bed not very comfortable and noisy
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Complementary coffee, bottled water, luggage storage, good size room given the very central location.
Cons: Somewhat abrupt staff at the breakfast one day.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Size and location of room.
Cons: Breakfast area was cramped and crowded - and the breakfast cost did not represent value for money
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel was fabulous. It was a tad pricey and I was a little apprehensive, but the staff was charming and made every effort to welcome and make the stay just wonderful.
Cons: I have no complaints whatsover
4,0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good and wifi worked great. It's in a great location.
Cons: Elevator was broken and room was not as pictured. More run down than I expected.
6,7 Good
Pros: Location is so good we almost forgot about the rest... spacious and comfortable room. Lovely staff but for one rude manager. Free water and coffee!!! Delicious croissants as there was nothing else they did
Cons: the poor and overcrowded breakfast buffet, the unending wait for the elevator, twice unchanged towels - bathrobe and sheets even though specific instructions were followed to indicate the request for change. uncleaned room and weirdly disturbing conversations with one member of the staff when asked a question about whether there was a roof top bar and an unfortunate lecture that followed on the alcohol policy of the premises even though the question was about a place to sit on the roof not about alcohol purchase nor consumption. And about the towels not being changed. There was no refrigerator in the room. Very and I mean very small cupboard and desk to put your stuff in or on after you empty your luggage.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful. They had free water and Happy Hours with delicious croissant and coffee in the lobby. The rooms were clean. The location was perfect and you could walk to any part of the city from there.
Cons: There was no separated shampoo and soap everything one in one liquid.
5,4 Okay
Cons: Unfortunately although rated as a 4 star hotel I would say it is probably an average 3 star at best, and I was disappointed with the rooms compared to what I saw on the internet when booking. Although in a reasonable location in Lyon, the hotel seemed "tired" in many respects, and not as well kept as other hotels I stayed in of a similar cost during my travels in France and Italy.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. The room where nice and had all comfort required to spend the night.
Cons: Nothing bad really it's a basic hotel with ok rooms. Nothing to special nothing bad. Just a good value for money hotel
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This wonderful hotel has the most amazing and fabulous people working here. I asked for a late check out because I was not feeling well and Valerie in the front desk allowed me to check out late, I appreciate how wonderful she was towards me and my mother in law. We stayed here in this hotel 6 days ago and we absolutely loved it because it so clean, so comfortable and the breakfast is phenomenal and the best part is the wonderful and friendly staff. We had to come back to Lyon and we didn’t think twice to stay in this fantastic hotel again!! I am so glad we did because I’ve never met such wonderful and friendly staff in all my travels in France! What a wonderful experience and fantastic hotel. I wish everyone could have this amazing experience, one we will never forget. Thank you Valerie for everything.
Cons: Nothing! This hotel is amazing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A great location and friendly staff, location in a lively neighborhood with plenty of options to eat, yet on a quite street
Cons: The value for the price is excellent, cannot fault anything
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Overall, our experience was pleasant! I loved the vibe of this place and all "flaws" that I mentioned do not cancel my overall feeling about the trip. There was a coffee/tea machine in the room, very stylish interior and the nicest service. Beds were comfortable, on the softer side. Hotel is close to Massena metro station (3 min walk at best) and located in very calm area, not noisy at all. 5 min distance from Park (with the zoo and botanical garden, free to walk around). There is a elevator, however, during our stay it was out of service. Breakfast was very simple yet delicious.
Cons: Unfortunately, no space to unpack your clothes, besides 3-4 hangers. There was a very intensive and "perfumey" scent after cleaning - sadly we both could not stand it, gladly we could open a window. Even without air condition air was very drying and harsh on your throat. There is no fridge in the room. Moreover, I do not recommend it for travelling with coworkers - door to the bathroom is made out of very thin glass which can make your stay a little awkward. In my opinion the room was too small for people that aren't couple or at least close friends.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people in family run business. AC was surprise because website implied not. No frills but great attention to detail. Fabulous breakfasts. Easy place to stay and enjoy Lyon.
Cons: Nothing
5,8 Okay
Pros: location is fine.
Cons: WIFI is non-existent! The staff on the front-desk was incapable of help. One girl recomended me to a cafe for wireless connection, but actually there was no wifi overthere.
7,9 Good
Pros: Delicious and punctual breakfast
Cons: No bathrobes and slippers were provided.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good rooms, quiet place, owner was very nice.
Cons: nothing, we spent a great time
6,7 Good
Cons: Nicely renovated rooms - very small and simple though! But the room price gave no reason. Far too expensive for a 3 star hotel - the price reflects normally 5 star hotels in London, Paris etc... Breakfast - No value for money - only few choices and very small restaurant, more crowded cafe style. Skip the hotel breakfast and walk for 2 minutes to cafes on the same street.

Cons: N/A
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location beside train station, proximity to airport shuttle and metro, good breakfast
Cons: Found that heavy duvet on bed was too warm, even with A/C on lowest setting...would have preferred a lighter blanket or sheet
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Even though this is a city hotel, the windows open so we could enjoy the cool night air. Our goal was to drop our Europcar, which is right next door, and catch the TGV to Paris CDG in the morning. The Lyon Part Deux station is only 100 meters away. We had a very comfortable night's sleep.
Cons: I wouldn't choose this hotel if we were spending time in Lyon but it was exactly what we needed to make our flight home the next day.

Hôtel Le Royal Lyon - Mgallery - Lyon - Living room

8,6 Excellent (3 684 reviews)

Overview Reviews
The only 5* hotel in Bellecour Square, Le Royal Lyon MGallery is located between the Rhône and Saône in the heart of the Lyon peninsula. This charming boutique hotel offers 72 rooms including 10 suites combining tradition and modernity. The restaurant "L'Institut", Côté Cuisine, Côté Bellecour and the Gourmets Cooking School are all places that invite you to discover the culinary and tableware arts.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was an excellent hotel. Right on the plaza with easy access to tranportation.
Cons: What the hotel lacked in dinning and bars was amply made up for by room service and the many eating and drinking facilities abounding nearby.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent- right in the center for us. I ran along the river in the mornings, we walked for a picnic at the Parc del la Tete d’Dor, and shopped the boutiques of Halles Grand Hotel-Dieu, all while venturing any direction for dinner every night. Our suite was warm, welcoming and grand with views overlooking the Bellecour and the Basilique de Notre Dame!
Cons: Breakfast was too expensive. It simply didn’t make sense with so many alternatives just steps from your front door.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated small hotel in excellent position. Appreciated the shift away from individual plastic bottles for room toiletries and the choice of quality Fragonard products. Good breakfast and helpful staff.
Cons: I expected the courtyard facing room to be just that rather than facing the blank wall of the adjoining building. The room was dark because of this. Would advise upgrading to a room overlooking the square.
7,0 Good
Pros: The location is fantastic. Breakfast is excellent. Staff was quite helpful.
Cons: Beds are uncomfortable, part time Concierge was a bummer. Over all, the facility is showing its age. Rugs tattered, needs paint touch up. It would be helpful if staff new where to eat.. Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Sold 4 though.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location Helpful staff
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, nicely refurbished rooms, excellent quality ingredients at breakfast, excellent service throughout, lovely lounge area, good quality cocktails at the hotel bar.
Cons: The bathrooms were really dated and not in keeping with the rooms. The over-bath shower was small, leaky and very weak pressure. Some bedrooms are pretty small (we travelled with friends and saw significant variation). It feels more like a good 4 star than a 5 star hotel (in terms of the rooms and especially bathrooms). The price should reflect that.

Pros: The hotel is close to many local restaurants. Quite convenient and an easy walk to many of the city attractions.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: In the very centre of the historic city on the peninsula with tons of shops around. Walking distance from lots of sights, bars and restaurants.
Cons: No ventilation in bathroom.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Asolutely brilliant central location. Surrounded by buzzy cafes, bistrots, restaurants and a short walk from everywhere. Travelling with my son this offered us a super base, with separate accommodation, with the bonus of our own little sitting room and kitchenette. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped - couldn't fault it. The decor was modern and chic, everything worked and was provided - couldn't be more pleased
Cons: Not a criticism, merely an observation. The large bedroom had super drawer space, wardrobe, TV etc, but a mirror in there would have been a bonus.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, big room, good do it yourself laundry.
Cons: Not much variety or quantity at the breakfast buffet.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent
Cons: Lighting in the bathrooms
6,7 Good
Pros: Central location
Cons: Rooms could have been a little cleaner. The fan in my room was quite dusty. I stayed 6 nights and it did not get serviced once.
6,0 Good
Pros: Lyon is an amazing city. The apartment was in a great location in terms of the shopping district, the sites and there are two underground stops not far away. The apartment was spacious and well equipped.
Cons: There were mosquitos, which was awful!Make sure to come with anti-mosquito sprays. Also the apartment looks over a very busy and very noisy bar/pub area which made it really difficult to sleep.Though the windows are doubleglazed etc. In Summer, I could imagine it being unbearably warm.
6,3 Good
Pros: The hotel was very central with easy access to shopping and the historical sites. The hotel was self contained and was very well equiped.
Cons: Some minor maintenance issues (shower head can not be adjusted from waist height, towel drying rack is coming off the wall and instructions for dishwasher/griller etc only in French)
5,0 Okay
Pros: It's in the best location and neighbourhood it could ever be, good to have a microwave with grill, dishwasher, ironing machine, rooms are spacious enough even for the studios.
Cons: There is no vacuum cleaner or any other cleaning instrument to clean your room, as they don't do it if you are staying less than a week, Slow elevators are an issue, there is no A/C in the rooms, Rooms are clean but really old, its time for a renewal for the hotel
6,3 Good
Pros: The location was very good with many restaurants and shops nearby. Our apartment overlooked a noisy square, so we were worried about being able to sleep, but the hotel had double layered windows, which completely blocked out the noise.
Cons: The hotel had on-site parking, which was a major plus, but accessing the garage was very difficult. We had to navigate tight turns though a pedestrian area, and the remote didn't work on more than one occasion.
4,7 Okay
Pros: 1) Nicely equipped kitchenette just buy your oil, salt, sugar than u have everything to cook 2) Superb location
Cons: 1) Slow elevators, if you don't wanna waste your time stay in lower flats 2) In summer lots of noise coming from the street, as it is very busy, no air condition so you have to open the windows and run the fan 3) Old furniture, worn out 4) Only cable internet however its relatively fast er than wifi 5) Once in a week cleaning isn't good
7,6 Good
Pros: The location of this hotel is surperb. On a cobbled street in the dining & partying district, this is a great spot! Kids will scream past your windows at 4 am but that that's what you came here for..right...? Situated on the Pres'quile everything is at your doorstep: clothes, food, transportation... etc. Front desk was very helpful and gave us a map we used despite the tourism office's map.
Cons: Surprised to find the couch was our bed (fold-out). And stricter renting rules than Switzerland (ie pay up front, nobody collects your garbage). but location was worth it. Charming hotel in a very desirable area. Great value for money.
4,4 Okay
Pros: Location was excellent for the sightseeing and resturants
Cons: There was a lack of convienence shops in the area for provisions and also the arrangements for cleaning were unclear. Studio rooms were very small.
6,0 Good
Pros: Nice room, LCD tv set, the staff was all right.
Cons: You have to walk at least 10 minutes to find a subway station.
6,8 Good
Pros: location excelent, comfort good, large space per suite, good matresses, very polite staff, good and very usefull room facilites, free internet in reception lobby,
Cons: problems with ventilation in the common lobbies , toilet and bathroom but not very annoing, need maybe an airconditioning system
6,8 Good
Pros: location was great. It has a small kitchen and a nice bath
Cons: Bed was in a sleep sofa. Not quite as comfortable as a standard mattress, but was acceptable. Room was not serviced daily

Located on the peninsula, be seduced by the Hotel Carlton Lyon. It has kept its authenticity and personality by combining contemporary comfort with refinement. Relax in one of the 80 well-decorated rooms, in our brand-new Spa Codage or in the cozy bar. A 5-minute walk from the Metro Bellecour, the hotel is the ideal starting point to discover Lyon: its Opera, its museums, its Cathedral St Jean.

Pros: Very helpful staff, accommodated early check in. Breakfast was great, nice space to relax in, great location and excellent for a city hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Supercentral in a great location, beautiful rooms and decor, wonderful staff that is truly helpful
6,3 Good
Pros: Pretty building in an good area for shops and tourist restaurants not too far.
Cons: We booked 2 double rooms and paid the identical amount for both. One was lovely and large with a large shower room and the other was small with a really small shower room and the toilet seat was broken and moved around. I asked to have the room changed to one the same as the large room as didn’t without a broken loo seat. They changed the room but obviously weren’t happy about doing so. It was another small room next to an old fashioned, slow and very noisy elevator so if you are a medium or light sleeper, this could be an issue at 3 and 4 am! The towels in the bathroom had long black hairs all over them which was quite unpleasant so I went to reception and had them changed. With so much choice of accommodation in Lyon I definitely wouldn’t choose here again, we should have rented a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with areas to relax as there wasn’t really an area to relax in the hotel without spending a lot on drinks. Also, breakfast was €26 per person so we went to a nice cafe around the corner which was €10 each and very tasty and wonderful French atmosphere. When we returned in the evenings, there were 2 sugar sweets thrown on our bed. Not sure the point of this as nothing else was done so you can’t even call it a turn down service.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We didn't get to stay in the room much, because we were there to see Lyon, but it was just fantastic. Actually now that I think of it, it was the nicest part of the trip. Very helpful friendly staff, very clean and elegant hotel, great bathroom, very comfortable. We chose the breakfast option which was very good buffet with good options for all. I greatly recommend

7,9 Good
Pros: Lots of construction outside, but with the double + double windows it was quiet in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location, walking distance to everything.
Cons: The room had a bathroom that was separate from the toilet. Really weird configuration. Toilet on one side of the bed around the corner, shower and sink on the other side of the bed room. Not a deal breaker, but strange.
