The price was good, location was excellent, being so close to Gare Part Dieu (the train station). The room was actually pretty spacious for a single and the bathroom was nice. Everything seemed clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and spoke English, which was helpful, since my French is still pretty weak (i'm working on it!). The buffet breakfast for 9.50 Euro wasn't bad either -coffee, juices, milk, cereals, bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, fruits, mini-crepes, tortilla espanola,...I think i got by money's worth!
Although the room was spacious there was very little furniture to put clothes away. there was some room to hang shirts and things up, but no drawers to put folded clothes. For the one night I was there it didn't matter because I did not want to unpack my things, but if I had been staying there for more than a couple of nights I would have been frustrated (and perhaps asked for a better room). There was no refrigerator in the room, which I didn't necessarily expect, but I also spent a few days the week before at a similarly priced hotel a few blocks away in Part Dieu, and that room had a little minifridge, which was a nice surprise. So, all I'm saying is, that for a few more Euros I maybe could have had a more comfortable experience elsewhere. But, I did save some money, so if you are on a short term trip and a small budget Ibis Lyon Part Dieu - Les Halles is actually a pretty good option, considering the low price - it just depends what 10-15 Euro/night saved is really worth to you.
