8,8 Excellent
Cons: A beautiful BnB set in a lovely garden, close to mini supermarket, pubs and restaurants. The owners are very friendly, a selections of cooked breakfast with vegetarian option. We booked deluxe double room with bath in Room 7 (Walker's Rest). The room is on the top floor in a converted roof space, the ensuite bathroom is decent in size with a shower over bath. However the double bed is light weight and not sturdy enough, the legs wobble when you change your sleeping posture, it is more suitable for a single person. We both got backache next morning, this is the first time happened to us after travelling in UK for 3 weeks. Otherwise we enjoyed our stopover in Lynton.
7,5 Good
Pros: We received a Lovely warm welcome. The rooms were clean and the communal areas nicely decorated. Breakfast was excellent and included home made granola and preserves. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble. We intend to return next year.
Cons: We found the 4pm check-in a little inconvenient especially after a long journey. A more usual check-in time is 2-3 pm
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was well presented spotlessly clean and within easy reach of many local walks
Cons: Could not fault the property

Pros: everything was great, brilliant welcome and service, very friendly.
Cons: nothing
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Overall very pleasant in every respect
Cons: Bed is too narrow for a couple. An extra 40c”m in width would do wonders . A stand to put a suitcase on would help. The price per night was slightly high and should have reflected the fact that It was the low season of the year.

Pros: Good location and choice of rooms, Gregg and Jacqui were very friendly and accommodating with an excellent selection at breakfast, especially the home made jams!
Cons: Nothing

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, they let us check in early and leave our car there all day. Breakfast was good, with a great choice of buffet and hot meal. Location was in the middle of the town and easy to find.
Cons: The shower head is positioned too low for taller people.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lee met us on arrival and kindly helped carry bags upstairs to show us our room whilst explaining about breakfast, late night entry, etc. Rachel was great fun and looked after us beautifully each morning at breakfast. The breakfast was great, with a wide choice and beautifully cooked to my specific request (I can't stand runny egg yolks!!) All the other staff were helpful and the food and drink choices were plentiful and very reasonably priced. The build your own pizzas were excellent. Four poster bed and lovely shower and extra heaters available in the room (it was a particularly miserable weekend).
Cons: The only think I can possibly find to say is that my hubby would have loved Weetabix at breakfast but we smuggled our own in (sorry Rachel!) although strongly suspect would have been speedily provided with some had we asked.

Pros: The owners John and Susan were wonderful hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The room was spotlessly clean. and the food was fabulous. Cons: It's definitely not for anyone with walking difficulties.

Pros: The breakfast was wonderful. There were eight different fruits, three juices, five cereals, plus the cooked breakfast of whatever you ordered. It was MUCH more than expected. Pros: A great welcome from our hosts, nothing too much trouble for them. Very comfortable and quiet.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast selection. Hosts available 9 p.m. for arrival and comfy. Had a nice mix of modern and traditional Furnishings inside
Cons: There is no hot water about 10:45 p.m. for a shower we've been out all day day the Host told us that it is probably been used up by the other residents and in any case it would be too late to have a shower that would disturb the other guess we thought this was not a great attitude and we could at least have been warned to have had it when we arrived rather than missing out

Pros: A last minute trip away found ourselves staying at South Cliffe in the heart of Lynton for just one night escape from our busy work schedules. We were warmly welcomed by Jane and Charlie and their gorgeous spaniel, Peanuts (who only appears for guests who are comfortable with furry animals) Our room was impeccably clean, the bed was comfortable and crisply laundered. Our en-suite was fab. The breakfast was absolutely scrumptious - my gluten free diet was accommodated without any issues and we had privilege of chatting with our hosts about our favourite walks and places to eat and discovering new places to explore. Thank you Jane and Charlie for your outstanding hospitality. We will highly recommend you and look forward to returning soon. Whatever the weather, Lynton is magical gem on Exmoor coast and Southcliffe is an excellent setting to base yourself for long or short stays.

Pros: The breakfast was exceptional with plenty of options, I myself opted for the full English. It was cooked to perfection, and the standard was unsurpassed. The bacon was perfectly cooked, as were the eggs, in addition to this, I actually got proper mushrooms! Not the canned rubbish, and it was delightfully presented on the plate.

Pros: Location of the hotel is AMAZING and our room overlooked the harbour and hills so it couldn't be better. Lovely quaint hotel right in the middle of Lynmouth. Staff very helpful. Great breakfast. Newly decorated room which was perfect for our weekend.
Cons: The room had recently been refurbished and there were a few very minor issues with the shower door dropping but that could be easily sorted - there was no where to hang soap or a sponge in the shower?

Pros: The room was comfortable and cosy and we slept very well. The food was of good quality and plenty to choose from. The setting was beautiful.
Cons: The breakfast is only served from 8.30 -9.30 so we couldn’t really sleep in. The stairs were quite steep and narrow, we managed fine but anyone older may struggle.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our recent stay at the Rising Sun was perfect. The room was lovely with beautiful views. The Breakfast was great with a wide range of options to choose from. Our evening meal in the restaurant was outstanding. The Hotel and restaurant staff were really polite and gave a flawless service.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and helpful staff very dog friendly
Cons: Condensation on windows
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfasts were lovely staff very attentive. Bedrooms really really clean.
Cons: As a retired nhs professional I was extremely concerned to see the same cloth being used in the public bar to wipe down tables, bar areas and even the optics. Never rinsed same old grubby cloth used time and again. This could have a huge impact on the health of all those in the bar. The lady behind the bar would then serve drinks without washing hers hands. Can I suggest using paper towels to clean then discarded after a single use.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: A lovely relaxing stay in a characterful hotel. Great food an very good service from the staff. Looks like it has been upgraded (new windows and shower room in my room). I love it here.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant welcoming staff. Comfortable, classy room with a wonderful location. For anyone who needs an allergy aware place to stay, these guys were brilliant. Beautiful food and a lovely, real country pub feel. Well done, only downside was no stand-up shower.
Cons: Stand up shower
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very charming and quaint in a beautiful spot. Lovely staff who made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. A large breakfast menu to suit all tastes.
Cons: This is a relatively unimportant point but I found the ultra modern rectangular basin very difficult to wash my face in. It lacks depth therefore water ended up on the floor and over my clothes the first and only time I used it. It was much easier to use the very spacious shower cubicle.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: It is very quirky as it’s so old. Love the staircase Lovely view from our bedroom
Cons: It was lovely and the rooms super. It a little ( only a little) noisy as we were over the Bar

Pros: Breakfast was excellent, cooked to perfection every day. View was beautiful and hosts were friendly and helpful. The shower was powerful and very controllable and the hair drier was the best with a socket right next to the ample sized mirror.
Cons: TV was positioned very high on the wall, making in quite difficult to watch comfortably. A shelf in the shower would have been really useful for shampoo and shower gel.

Cons: Room cold due to 'air locked radiator which was fitted with a self vent'. Easy to fix but no action taken by owner. Limited bar on site with extortionate prices so only briefly used.

It is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Next to the cliff top railway with parking and easy walking access to the town. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. I could not fault this hotel and will definitely stay there again and recommend it to friend and family

Pros: Overall very pleasant in every respect
Cons: Bed is too narrow for a couple. An extra 40c”m in width would do wonders . A stand to put a suitcase on would help. The price per night was slightly high and should have reflected the fact that It was the low season of the year.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was exceptional with plenty of options, I myself opted for the full English. It was cooked to perfection, and the standard was unsurpassed. The bacon was perfectly cooked, as were the eggs, in addition to this, I actually got proper mushrooms! Not the canned rubbish, and it was delightfully presented on the plate.
Cons: I could not fault my stay here.

Pros: Continental Breakfast plus Full English breakfast with toast to follow. All top notch in appearance and taste! Proper pot of coffee got us moving or a pot of tea to start the day. Could not ask for a better meal to set us up for our marathon walks...
Cons: We didn't like it, we loved it all for sure. Fantastic bath we could fully recline in, room for two! The bed was even better and the heating was in our control so the cold windy weather was forgotten...

Pros: It was a last minute booking and Kate explained everything clearly as we were checking in after they were there. She checked we had got there safely by text and welcomed us. We had a very comfortable nights sleep and had an excellent breakfast the following morning. My husband went as far as to say it was the best cooked breakfast he'd had out.
Cons: Nothing.
