Pros: If you love Lille, stay here! Charming, quiet, with very friendly concierge...the location is great, right across from metro. Couldn't have been happier.
1,0 Poor
Pros: terrible customer service avoid this place - wish we had never booked with them
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Bed quality is perfect, the italian shower great, kettle for coffee and tea. Very calm
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable and friendly plus great location
Cons: The room we had was spotless and very comfortable bed. But the terrace and garden though small was a real bonus. It is just one stop on metro from Euro Gare and dead opposite the station. Our room was on the side away from the busy road so very peaceful. The young lady who dealt with us could not have been nicer or more helpful. We will certainly visit again
9,2 Excellent
Pros: “Romeo & Juliet” room: Bathroom was clean, double sink was spacious. Staff was very hospitable and helpful, providing maps etc. Exterior was lovely and full of character. Wardrobe was attractive and spacious. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast, while tasty, was spare even for continental breakfast. In room facilities were limited to an electric kettle. Chairs were a poor fit for the tables and bits of period furniture.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice host and good environment. Comfortable with air co (not so often in north France)
Cons: A little far away from downtown

Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is wonderful. The staff was terrific and very attentive. The location was great, as were the breakfast offerings. Would definitely stay here again or recommend to someone else visiting the area.
Cons: There were no international news channels offered on the TV. Usually there is at least one station that you can watch to get caught up on international news. At a quick glance it looked like there were some, but when you clicked on it, the channel wan't available. Disappointing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Limited on site parking but close proximity to other options. Street parking available.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The bathtub was huge and deep. I was in town for sports and it was nice to be able to take a bath after a long day on the field. The bed was also very fluffy and comfortable. The location was perfect and the staff were all incredibly helpful as well.
Cons: Room service was very limited and not very good quality. The bar downstairs can get very loud which makes it tough to sleep if you're there over the weekend. The climate control in the room was locked and the set temperature was a bit too high for my tastes. The rooms are also quite small.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was wonderful. Great design on outside made it easy to spot, the rooms were spacious and minibar restocked every day. Staff very friendly and professional, couldn't have done more for us. They also offer this incentive to be "greener" which is fabulous idea, basically you get a token to use in the bar if you re-use towels etc. Would certainly recommend this hotel. Location was great for walking round Lille.
Cons: VERY minor point.... You gave us bottles of beer in the minibar but there was no bottle opener in the room so we had to ask the bar staff to open for us!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The quality of the facilities. Excellent coffee machine. Free mini bar. Brilliant bed.
Cons: The was nothing didn't like
8,3 Excellent
Pros: FRONT DESK THEY ARE FRIENDLY AND ALWAYS TRY TO HELP, LOCATION AND ROOM CLEANING
Cons: HOUSEKEEPING THEY FORGET TO CLEAN MY BATHROOM ON SUNDAY I DID NOT ENJOY MY BREHFAST BECAUSE THE STAFF DONT CLEAN TABLES IMMEDIATELY WHEN GUESTS LEFT AND NO ONE WILL GUID YOU WHER I SHOULD SIT
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfortable. Reception staff very helpful.
Cons: For the money you had to pay the breakfast was not of a very good standard, flies around open food.
6,7 Good
Pros: Location , bed
Cons: Staff , warmth of room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really helpful. Great location of the hotel. Hotel and room really comfortable and well equipped.
Cons: The breakfast was a little expensive at €16 each.

Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Planning an event in Lille? This hotel has facilities measuring 1292 square feet (120 square meters), including conference space.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent central location (walking distance to all central sights), superb service at the reception, very decent breakfast, nice modern fixtures and a large TV. Well priced for what is on offer.
Cons: Very small rooms and very small bathroom. Nicely done, but cramped. Would be too small for anything other than a weekend trip. There is no "do not disturb" sign - so each morning the housekeeper came into our room while we were still there, getting ready to go out for the day. Not ideal!
7,1 Good
Pros: Location, room, view
Cons: Zero sound insulation. Could hear every creaky floor board and neighbors. Reception and breakfast area are somewhat depressing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Newly renovated hotel, location excellent
7,5 Good
Pros: - The room was spacious. The bathroom was huge with 2 sinks, which was nice. - The bed was very comfortable. - Our room was quite. - The location is great. Literally next to the Grand Place. - The buffet breakfast might have been small but all the products were delicious. The coffee was also very good. All in all the breakfast exceeded our expectations
Cons: - Although the bedsheets were clean and fresh, the walls and the carpet did not have any stains and the bathroom and toilet were also clean, for a 4 star hotel and a room that costs 150 Euros per night (without including breakfast) we would expect everything to be spotless. Unfortunately there was a smell of damp all over the room and the closets really smelled. - When we used the shower there was a lot of dirt coming out of the bathtub drain. That was really not nice. - There were some small flies when we got into the room but ok this can happen..
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean and space adequate. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was well presented and fresh. This hotel was superior to any hotel we stayed on our tour.
Cons: Only a one night stay as joining a tour. No complaints. Would recommend this hotel and if I returned to Lille would most definitely stay there again.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Room 302 dominating the grand place was absolutely stunning. Staff very cooperative and kind.
Cons: Breakfast room is not a warm environment. The entrance of the hotel does not reflect that of a 4 stars. Carpets are old and very dirty and the overall atmosphere not as expected after reading the descriptions.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: Nothing
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent - a nice selection of cheeses, breads, fruit and hot dishes. We were able to go all day without a midday meal. Location is just off the Grand Place (Main Square) and easy walk from Lille Flanders station and to most in town sites. Lots of cafes and restaurants just minutes away on foot as well as an in house restaurant. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. Always greeted us with a smile! Nice room with well equipped bath.
Cons: My husband thought the bed was uncomfortable and had trouble sleeping. I weigh 130 lbs less than he and thought it was very comfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, excellent breakfast, very polite staff, newly decorated rooms.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent property with very plush bedding and wonderful bathrooms with luxurious shower! Friendly and accommodating staff. Wonderful location!!!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast, friendly staff, swimming pool, spa
Cons: nothing
7,1 Good
Pros: Close to Lille city center yet quiet.
Cons: There are two buildings at l’Hermitage. Make sure you book in the original building, with nice historic rooms, and not a room in the new building, which have no particular charm. You would miss on the real Hermitage experience, like I did unfortunately.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, beautiful building and very clean. Helpful staff.
Cons: the car park was very expensive.
7,5 Good
Pros: Everything was very comfortable, the rooms were good. Reception staff were very helpful
Cons: It seems all the rooms in the hotel have views of the main road or a road - we did ask to move but all the views appear to be the same. We booked to eat in the brasserie and they were understaffed and the food was awful and cold. The breakfast was OK but the staff were slow and slow to replenish the food
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful conversion of an old hospital with lots of character and beautiful artifacts. There are many peaceful and interesting places to sit inside and outside. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room by a charming young man via the lovely old Chapel. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a clever eclectic mix of old and new decor tastefully executed. I am disabled and use a mobility scooter. This hotel was an ideal place to stay as I could get around everywhere easily. Parking was no problem opposite the hotel after dropping off luggage at the front. An exceptional experience in this special city centre hotel. We will return again next year for our first night after our Eurotunnel crossing. Absolutely highly recommend.
Cons: The Brasserie restaurant was somewhat disappointing and had a limited menu for my husband to choose from as he is gluten intolerant.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was extremely comfortable in the Staff was terrific
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Love this hotel, stayed here a couple of times before. There is something very special about it - the mixture of old and new. The staff are wonderful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything , it was an old hospital so has history and art and gorgeous rooms. Staff were super friendly and took us on a tour of the hotel. The SPA is relaxing and adding a beauty treatment is well worth it.
Cons: Everything was lovely, although our room was underneath the loading bay so a bit noisy but they even give you earplugs so it was not a big deal

Cons: There is nothing not to like
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, room very good and the shower excellent
Cons: As it was a very small hotel it did very well
5,4 Okay
Pros: We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights. Beds were comfortable and rooms were nice. Staff was courteous and responsive as they could be.
Cons: While the location was just steps away from the center of Lille, the street it is located on is night and day compared to the street over. Kids and other beggars confronted you as you entered and exited the hotel. It was located by a popular restaurant, that was open until the early hours of the morning, which makes it difficult when you have to sleep with the windows open. A/C did not cool rooms at all. When questioned staff, was told that it was normal. Mosquitoes were horrible. Worst two nights of sleep I have had on my trip in France thus far. Don’t book here in the summer unless you are used to sleeping in the heat! Would probably stay here again if it was cooler outside and AC wasn’t needed.
4,2 Okay
Pros: The location as it’s in the centre but the area does not look nice, very dirty and smelly.
Cons: Room very small once the sofa bed for the children is open. Breakfast is not good, poor quality food. We asked for a cappuccino and fried eggs but they were not able to do them because there is no kitchen in the hotel! The area is not nice at all and smelly.

7,9 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed, good shower. Excellent choice for breakfast.
Cons: Being put in an attic room where it was impossible to have the window open because if the noise and smell from extract fans. Dark corridors.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Central location.
Cons: Room size was tight. Bed was large and overall adequate for a city break. Large television as long as you don't want a single English speaking channel. Breakfast was good.
7,5 Good
Pros: Central location, helpful staff. The breakfast was good. A wide choice of nearby restaurants was available.
Cons: Room was small and cramped. The design features of the room, while trendy, made the room impractical. The desk took up most of the available free space. As we are travelling for a long while, we have two big bags. It was difficult to store and access them easily. We would have appreciated some information on setting the air conditioning.
7,9 Good
Pros: Located near the train station, everything is near.
7,1 Good
Pros: Closeness to Eurostar and restaurants
Cons: Smallness of room. Lack of direction to rooms. Stairs to room rather than lifts.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good first impressions thanks to the friendly staff at reception. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable, and there was enough room to put our stuff. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Cons: The breakfast was rather basic. We would especially have liked more fresh fruit and fresh pressed orange juice, and the icing on the cake would be more choice. Other than that, we realised that the walls were rather thin. We didn't have any problems, all we heard was next door's TV, but I imagine that it could easily be an issue...
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location is just in front of the main station.
Cons: The breakfast buffet was acceptable but not so great.
7,5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: It’s too hot!!!...No air conditioning.
7,0 Good
Pros: Centrally located hotel. Bedrooms are very small but functional. Nice breakfast room with view on square in front of station. Breakfast quality was decent.
Cons: Noise from street outside (buses, etc.) meant I had to shut window.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, great location, good breakfast

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant hotel in downtown Lille. The staff was very nice, good breakfast, comfy bed, decent shower; all good! Rooms are small, but that is mentioned before you book, so to be expected. The room didnt feel cramped though, just don't bring huge suitcases ;) We much enjoyed our stay and the location couldnt be better.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel in the city center friendly staff. Great for a short stay
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Upgraded to a larger room. Great location.
Cons: No lift. We were on the 2nd floor
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: 4 flights of stairs to my room
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: No refrigerator and no view (locked white glass windows)
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location just of main road in a village about 4 miles from centre of Ypres. Comfortable clean room. Excellent buffet breakfast. The hotel had large functions on both nights of our stay but there was absolutely no noise at all.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location and service are both stellar. The rooms were very fairly priced for the city (and especially considering I went during a very busy festival in September). The breakfast features locally produced products and is really tasty.
Cons: The rooms, as advertised,, are quite small. There are no screens on the windows and so as much as I wanted to keep the windows open all day, there probably would have been too many bugs.
4,2 Okay
Pros: nothing
Cons: i could not use wi-fi, small room, NO transparent curtains, only opaque curtains (so NO daylight if u want some intimacy). old fashion windows so all noise from the street directly in your head .... not to mention the building does not have elevator.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It is right in the heart of Lille, everything you need is just a few steps away. The staff was super kind, they really want you to feel like it’s home.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. I was travelling with an elderly person, and the staff were as helpful and accommodating as they could be. We were always greeted with smiles and friendliness. Breakfast was great, filled with local bakery, cheese, meats, honey, hot bacon and eggs. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with beds so cosy it was hard to get out of them. The best thing about this place was the location. It was a 2 minute walk from the main square, and it was within walking distance of everything to see in Lille. Thank you, Hotel Kanaï, for giving us a wonderful stay in Lille!
Cons: There was not a thing to criticise about this hotel. It is a perfect place to stay while visiting Lille.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Across the street from “All of the action” in the center of the city. Opera House, live theaters and music, great restaurants. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: If you are driving, you must reserve valet parking or park blocks away at a ramp. Road construction (hopefully temporary) made all of the one-way streets to get near the hotel a major challenge. But worth the effort for sure.!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was beautiful in the center, staff was polite, breakfast was fine
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Carlton is a beautiful building in the heart of Lille. We stayed for the Braderie weekend and loved everything about the hotel. The rooms were exceptionally clean also so soundproof that we overslept the first morning while thousands of people walked the street below. Extremely helpful and friendly staff throughout our stay. Pure luxury and would return.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location great for getting about on foot to all major points of interest. Nice rooms, good breakfast. Overall lovely hotel.
Cons: Wouldn't say didnt like as too strong a point. Staff at reception desk not the most welcoming. We seem to initiate every good morning or good evening, on directions we asked outside when we needed to.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms had double doors out to the balcony which made for a quiet room even though the street was full of people.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent rooms and a great location. Staff were very helpful especially in changing the rooms for my elderly mother. Breakfast was superb. Would recommend very highly.
Cons: Couldn't find any faults at all!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Journey by car and hotel staff swiftly took car to park and returned it to us on check out but it was 30euro day ( we arrived late Monday and left after breakfast Tuesday so counted as 2 days parking )
Cons: In the dark it was very difficult to spot driving between pedestrian bollards on pedestrian roadway ( also used by cars) but coming from the U.K. we thought that wasn’t allowed, so missed the turn between the hippopotamus restaurant and Paul’s bakery and then got very lost in traffic round and round but staff were very helpful to get us finally to the hotel and came out to find and meet us!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast but if I was being picky plates for hot items need to be warm. Staff, particularly Matilda very helpful and excellent English. Massage in my room by Alexandra very good. Only 5 minutes walk to metro.
Cons: Really for 5 stars it needs a restaurant for dinner but I should have spotted that when booking. There are plenty near by but you do not always feel like going out.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is the 3rd time we've stayed at the Carlton , and it's better this time , after the re fit . Its friendly staff and central location means it's always number 1 when we visit Lille , and the bed is super comfy after a long day seeing the sites and shopping hard .
Cons: The lack of uk tv channels

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great base for sightseeing and links to the motorway network. Close to the centre with all the bars, restaurants and shops. Functional and clean with friendly staff.
Cons: Chose this hotel as it said it had free on site parking, this was not the case. Parking is E13 a day and garage too small for most cars. Had to park on road.
7,1 Good
Pros: - Friendly staff - Great location
Cons: - Very narrow parking garage. - Breakfast was only bread, cheese and ham. Nothing fancy. No English breakfast. - Bed was small! Only 140cm or so. Also hard. - Bathroom had some thick mold in the air vent.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are clean, nice breakfast, friendly staff. It's a little walk to Eurostar & train station. Otherwise, it's fine.
Cons: My card was blocked everytime I leave the room and I had to go down from 6th floor to reception to reset the card
6,7 Good
Pros: Good location, breakfast is just enough
Cons: Very noisy in mornings, elevator and housecleaning
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Excellent location
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Clean property, welcoming staff and parking onsite a bonus. Availed from early booking deal via booking .com so good value. Could have done with shelving or wardrobe space instead of only hanging space but overall services very good. The surroundings are beautiful but Lille's streets and squares are shockingly scattered with beggars and dealers of all sorts, which is a bit putting off!
Cons: Loved the breakfast and the lovely old town
6,7 Good
Pros: Location is excellent, very central and walking distance to most sights. Staff were very nice and helpful!
Cons: Bathroom - not particularly clean, ours had mouldy shower tray, something I am sure can be sorted with a good bleach and a scrub. The shower tray is also quite dangerous, it is surprisingly high and slippery. Facilities are also pretty basic: there is no conditionaire, your toiletries are pretty much a multi-use body wash. No safe, so if you have any valuables, you need to carry them with! No wardrobe, just a rail for clothes. Breakfast: pretty basic, definitely had better at other similarly priced hotels in France! With the amazing selection of food that France has to offer pretty much everywhere, it was disappointing. Oh and parking - if you came with a car that is not the size of Renault Clio, you could not get into the parking garage. I be fair, there are plenty of secure parking places around so it was not the end of the world, but it would be nice to know that you could comfortably park where you are staying.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and comfortable
Cons: No safety box inside the rooms
7,1 Good
Pros: On walking distant to the centre and the museum. Good breakfast.
Cons: We arrived on time but still we had to wait for our room, that is weird. The parking is very narrow.
7,1 Good
Pros: Its in the perfect location for the bars and restaurants and only a short walk to the park, fairground, boating lake and town
Cons: Lots of beggars to the point its getting out of control The air-conditioning within the room is very poor and can only be set at 16 which is far from adequate in the summer months, The cleaners failed to clean our room so we had to ask for some fresh towels from reception at 11.30pm at night when we had returned after a night out and make our own bed which was not acceptable

Pros: It’s a beautiful little hotel. At any other time of year the location would be wonderful - it’s a lovely place in a great location. During the braderie de Lille though I would stay away.
Cons: The noise level on Saturday night was shocking. A DJ booth was set up just under our window on the beautiful main square in the old town. Our room was literally shaking until 3am. I think the hotel should put this on their website for people thinking of booking during that popular weekend.

Pros: Location
Cons: The night staff refused us water I had to argue with him for 20 minutes and then he basically thru the bottle at me. He was rude and I think drunk. No coffee making facility in our room

9,2 Excellent
Pros: location was superb, very safe and parking facility, which was a bit pricey for 18€ per day, but at least was in front of the hotel and close to centre. reception guys were all very welcoming and helpful. for the evening we were suggested to reach an area which we liked it very much. the room was essential, quiet, bathroom exceptionally roomy, all in all clean throughout.
Cons: breakfast a bit simple, but in line with the kind of accommodation. a bit difficult to find the right one as there are three ibis with the same name in the radius of a mile. only difference was the hotel classification (our was "style") which we didn't think of when we set the gps, so we ended up driving in circle.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is only minutes from the town square and parking was straight across the road in a car park that made everything very easy. There are lots of things that are easy to walk to. The metro is close as well. The breakfast was great. It was a quiet hotel and the staff were extremely helpful. We would stay there again.

Cons: Nothing teslly
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Love the staff very friendly especially Teddy :) The location is super near the station and around the corner of the the city but in a quiet street. Love the fact that they know a lot and offer board games in the lobby. The staff gives good tips for nice restaurants and things to do. Furthermore the shower was nice and also the room itself apart from the missing minibar. If I would visit Lille again would stay here for 200%
Cons: Breakfast was nice for a French breakfast but strange since they have a whole kitchen and only offer boiled eggs. I love my breakfast to be complete with bacon and a omelette or so. So for a simple breakfast it's ok typical French No mini bar in the room downstairs you can buy some drinks and snacks. But always handy to have your own fridge and for the price of the room you would expect that.

Pros: Modern, great value, right near train stations (Eurostar and Lille Flanders). We booked this as a one night stop, en route from London to Ypres and the WW1 battlefields. Just a five minute stroll from the Eurostar station, this hotel is clean and the buffet style breakfast was excellent. It is right near Lille Flanders local railway station, and Ypres is only an hour away by train. Would recommend for a one night stayover near the transport connections. Also near the main square full of bars, cafes, restaurants and global fast food chains. Staff were friendly and hotel was clean, although room a little on the small side, but excellent value for money.

With a stay at Hotel Saint Maurice, you'll be centrally located in Lille, within a 5-minute walk of Old Stock Exchange and Euralille. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff.
7,9 Good
Pros: The hotel was exactly as seen in the photos. The location is unbeatable if you want to catch Eurostar at Eurorail or inter-city trains at Flanders Station. The receptionists were cheerful and very helpful. The room was very small particularly for the medium size suitcase. The bathroom was facilitated with towels and soap. It’s best you bring your own amenities. The bed is firm and I slept very well. I only stayed for one night and the small old fashioned hotel was just good enough for me. There are also lots of restaurants around and walking distance to the old town.
Cons: The room is a bit too small particularly the shower cubicle.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, great staff
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. The hotel is situated between historic area of the city and two central railway/bus stations. The stop of airport shuttle will be in 15 min by slowly walking. There is a lot of tasty café, restaurants and street foods spots close to the hotel.
Cons: Very poor soundproofing, but if you do not spend at the hotel all the time, then you can survive one or two nights.
4,6 Okay
Pros: Sadly, based on the price, there was little to recommend this hotel.
Cons: The room was very shabby, occupied by a double bed, a small table with chair, wall-mounted television and a completely superfluous and utterly impractical wardrobe, which contained a safe for valuables. There was a small kettle with paper cups only, and plastic stirrers. Most importantly, there was no AC, so you can guarantee that your sleep (as ours was!) will be ‘disturbed’ by mosquitoes. We awoke exhausted.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Smaller sized hotel, furnishings wood rather than chrome. Well balanced breakfast.
Cons: Quite noisy when neighbouring doors opened, closed.
7,0 Good
Pros: Close proximity to Centre of Lille and close to railway station
Cons: Very compact room. Bathroom below expectations.
6,7 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, perfect location. Breakfast was ok!!
Cons: The hotel is very old. The rooms are very noisy. You can hear every sound of your neighbours.
4,6 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Scary lift and ridiculously small rooms and no coffee or tea making facilities
7,1 Good
Pros: Basic breakfast ((who wants mashed apples?) Rooms are old, but beds are comfortable. Reception is very helpful and location is extremely good. Vicinity of many restaurants helps.
Cons: Could do with some renovation internally and externally.
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Absolutely hideous place! Do not stay at this hotel just to save a bit of money. It really is not worth the stress and you will deeply regret it! Our first room had a private bathroom with a huge gap at the top of the wall, so whenever a person goes to the toilet for a number two, you WILL smell everything! Our first room was infested with bed bug, we woke up to find our bodies completely covered in bite marks, NOT FROM MOSQUITOES as the hotel would like you to believe! They have posters up saying you can ask reception for mosquitoes repellent but this is just a sly guise to cover up the fact that they have a bed bug issue. We complained and they insisted it was mosquitoes not bed bugs and gave us another room. Our new room also had a bathroom with a huge gap at the top of the adjoining wall to the bedroom, so again, you get all the unwanted smells from the toilet in your bedroom. This room had very old carpet (the other room had laminate floor, (an obvious attempt by the hotel to try and get rid of the bed bugs). We didn't think anything of it and the next morning (at 4am) we were both awake due to being bitten the entire night, we were covered from head to toe in painful, itchy bed bug bites. We immediately checked the bed and surroundings and found a dead bed bug and excrement from the incest's under the mattress. We went downstairs to complain and were told by a man at receptions that the manager would be in at 9am, so we retuned at 9am, extremely tired as we hardly had any sleep whatsoever! Again the hotel manager was not around and we were told he was on holiday. We informed the reception manager (Tristen) who is a nice girl but there was not much she or the previous man we spoke to could do. They both admitted there had indeed been issues of bed bugs in the past but believed they had gone away. We still had one nights stay remaining but we did not care, we had no choice but to leave. Our holiday was completely ruined. We checked into another hotel.
Cons: Bed Bugs. Do not stay here. Local people and other hotel owners in Lille told us that Hotel Maurice has a bad reputation when it comes to hygiene! It is widely known in the area and the manager refuses to do much to resolve the issue. Honestly when you look at the price of the hotel you may be tempted to stay here if you are on a budget but believe me for a little more money you can stay somewhere much, much better. Please do not stay here! They refuse to believe they have bed bugs even though we supplied them with pictures. They did not even do the moral thing and refund me for the two nights we stayed and had zero sleep!

Do not book the 5th floor reat- if you do get one ask f o r another, Oh I almost forgot the mosquitos.

Pros: We stayed the night, and although it is tired I enjoyed the French charm of the place, I like the windy staircases. It was cheap, and a fantastic location, we were looking out at the beautiful Gare de Flandres.
