Being within the part next to Lake McDonald lodge was great. The Inn is very basic, but had everything we needed. Wifi seemed to work OK. Unfortunately there is no access to the lake right at the Inn, instead you had to walk over to the lodge. Shower and toilet were very cramped, but in working order. At least two things we didn't like: no air conditioning; it was 22 degrees during the night and we couldn't open the windows above the indoor pool. The other point is that the mini-putt was closed even though we were there on May 10th. I don't recommend this hotel for the summer.

Room needs to be renovated. No microwave or fridge. Entrance door has a big gap to the outside. Very old Room was clean. Pool and hot tubs are great. Restaurants were great. Meals are pricey

The multiple buildings did dissuade us from using the facilities in the main building. Stairs to climb with luggage was a little tricky. Rooms were very clean with many appreciated extras; blow dryer, ear plugs, kettle.

Pros (+) Newer rooms were beautiful. Close to the skiing at Lake Louise. Albeit disappointed with the room, management did eventually offer us a discount similar to that of the rest of our ski club.
Cons (-) If you book late, you'll end up paying through the nose for smaller, dated rooms. Literally end up paying a 5 star rate for 1star room. If you book early enough and know the hotel, you will pay a 3 star rate for a 5 star room. The older rooms are in great need of updating. Pros (+) Great location! We had a wonderful view of the mountains from our room. Loved the overall feel and design of the inn. Our room was nice, clean, and comfortable.
Cons (-) The only thing we didn't like was that our bed only had a thin sheet on top. There was no blanket or comforter. It would have been A LOT more comfortable if there was one.
