Pros: Location was decent if you want quieter next to park in Shinjuku area. Lots of toiletries.
Cons: I had a double bed in room on 3rd floor which believe it or not was still underground with no view or outdoor light and no room to even open a suitcase. After 5 days it felt so claustrophobic. I was disappointed to learn they had many other rooms that were a little larger and for 5 days they should have put me in one. I know rooms are tiny in Tokyo but I checked around and there are lots of options better than this one. Perhaps if you decide to stay here ask for a higher room so you at least have some sunlight and maybe get a twin room so you can at least walk around. The other rooms on my floor had at least a little hallway when you walk in. It was depressing being in such a small room with no outside lighting.

Cons: Booked by mistake ? Smoking room. When I noticed , I tried to change to non smoking and called hotel. The same category of room was still available on the booking.com website. The difference in price was about 2500 yen but the hotel first asked for a surcharge of over 21000 yen then reduced to 13000.- They said if I want the 2500yen I must go through bookings.com I sent a mail to ask booking.com for help.... no reply up till today. I think the hotel is a trap.

Cons: this is the ONLY constructive feedback I have: In an attempt to be more environmentally friendly there was an option for guests to hand in an 'eco-card' to the reception, refraining from house keeping that day. I am all for hotels not changning the bed linen and towels every day, but I still want house keeping to come to the room and clean up (make the bed, wash used cups, empty the trash etc) and there was no easy way to just say that you want regular house keeping with the exception of changing sheets & towels. I think that if the hotel could offer this service instead of all or nothing, many more guests would use the eco cards. And a simple sign saying "put your towels on the floor if you want them changed, leave them hanging if not" would be great in order to reduce washing of towels.

Pros: This hotel was wonderful. It's location was fantastic.. only a 5 minute walk to the best areas by the river restaurants and not too far to other amazing sites. The staff were unbelievably polite and helpful and courteous. The subway stop in the building itself make traveling to places like the Bamboo forest so easy. We had to leave super early on our last morning so we took a cab to the train station and this was not too expensive and fast. The hotel has an elegance of a by gone era while still having all the modern conveniences. Weddings take place below in some ballrooms but it still has a small hotel feel. Everything is so lovely. The beds were super comfortable and the sheets were luxurious making a good night's sleep after so much walking around. Everyone there made us feel welcome and special and were only too happy to make our vacation a great one. Overall an outstanding experience. Thank you!

Cons: Everything and everyone was amazing! The room was good. But a bit small for two people with luggage. Bidet toilet seat, comb, brush, toothbrushes, ... Even a razor for men was available in a well stocked bath tray in the room. The only issue was that they had everything except cream/lotion. We were surprised at that. Perhaps Japanese people don't use body lotion?!

Cons: Additional charge of €25 per use, to access the pool was extremely disappointing, first time I've experienced this that a pool (in the hotel) was not available for guests. The breakfast was also hugely expensive, luckily there were plenty of nearby cafe's which served amazing food for half the price.

Cons: Cleaning - we stayed for 5 nights and I had to ask for my sheets to be changed after 2days. I even stripped the bed so the staff understood that we wanted clean bedding! I paid 3000yen extra for a late check out at 3pm.. which was fine but when we checked out at 2pm we were told by a rude concierge to line up... this line was the check in line!!!- it had a sign! I explained to the concierge that we were checking out not in .. he was rude and kept pointing to the check in line. We nearly missed our train to the airport! I went to speak to another more senior Concierge and he immediately took us to a counter and found someone to check us out. Not s nice final experience!! Rude man!

Pros: Excellent location- easy walking distance from JR station. Very helpful staff. Strict checkin at 2pm, but happy to store our luggage.

Pros: The hotel is opposite the Kyoto Ststion; with close proximity to eateries and shopping, The room is so spacious , twin bed is of good size, amenities are good. The hotel also provide kimonos for you to dress up and take photos at a special decorated corner at the lobby area. Highly recommended .

Pros: Great location right next to main train station, very clean room with a lot of little extras (toothbrush, hair brush etc), helpful staff, convenient taxis usually outside main door entrance.
Cons: Room, especially bathroom a little on the small side. But only stayed for two nights so perfectly acceptable. Also very large, quite impersonal hotel - used for tour groups.

Pros: We were relieved to find that the beds weren't too firm for us. They were reasonably comfy, which was our main priority. They also had lots of power points (about 8) for recharging our devices - best we've found in our month of travelling in Japan.
