Ko Samui hotels near Wat Lamai

Pros: Staff were great and very helpful.

Cons: The bath once we had released the water leaked all over the room, was reported the first night in which they said they would fix but it continued for the next few days of the stay, live electrics near to ground and young children and water shouldn’t happen.

Pros: Amazing property and exactly what we needed after travelling around Vietnam and Cambodia for 17 days. A very clean resort with the most comfortable bed! The aromatherapy throughout the hotel added to a luxurious pampered feeling that we were needing for a beach rest before returning home. We were treated to a bottle of champagne and flowers through the room for our anniversary.

Cons: My only complaint was the reception staff. We found them very hard to talk to and lacking in customer service (could be a language barrier) but I did not get the feeling that was the issue. They seemed ore preoccupied and when trying to book an excursion we were sold the wrong one and ended up spending $350 on the most boring cruise that was not what we were looking for. I asked to get booked in the red dragon tour and was told the red Barron was the same. It was NOT at all and we wasted 8 hours floating on a boat when we were looking for snorkeling and kayaking etc. Too bad when we’re were only in the island for 3 days

Cons: Some rooms are located across the main road and this is not clear on booking.com! However after we complained we did get moved which was great.

Cons: Our room was located across the road from the hotel, just above a river which smelt like an open sewer.

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Pavillion Resort. The staff were very friendly, our room was large and comfortable (air conditioning, and we enjoyed the private splash pool). The breakfast was excellent. The pool and beach areas were kept clean and comfortable.

Cons: We felt the restaurant and bar was overpriced, so we preferred to go down the street for other options.

Pros: This is probably the best located hotel in Lamai right on the beach but minutes away from some great bars and restaurants.Amazing staff who were so friendly and helpful.The breakfast is very good indeed.

Cons: The only minus point was that at busy times there were not enough sunbeds,this was compounded by guests putting their towels out at the crack of dawn .I feel it would be a good idea for the Hotel Management to put a stop to this practice and to remove towels when the sun beds have been vacant for a long time

Pros: We liked everything about this hotel. Good room, among the greenness, with balcony. Good breakfast. First line on the beach, sunbeds, restourant terrace just by the sea - nice view and exellent food. Thank you. It was wonderful stay.

Cons: Realy bad WiFi . Could not use it from room need to go to reception so I could use WiFi .

Cons: Room 208. Airco doesn't work fine. It needs maintenance looking at the dust jnside. Probably the never cleened it.

Pros: The room was in nice garden, very close to beautiful beach. Street with city life and food was close. It was nice stay here. Good breakfast served. There was nice pool and sun umbrellas on the beach.

Pros: I have stayed in this hotel many times and it is a really good hotel good facilities lovely pool and lovely staff

Cons: The only thing I would say would be a problem is the Wi-Fi you have to keep logging in every time which is a pain , and maybe some more English-speaking channels on the TV

Pros: Loved the decor and the private pool on the terrace. The hotel was quite quiet due to it being the low season but the staff were always available and friendly and attentive. Direct access to a good beach, with many small cafes and bars nearby in easy walking distance, but just far enough off the main strip that you don't get all the noise of the town.

Cons: Nothing really. The room was a little dated but it didn't take anything away from the stay. The outdoor terrace size and pool easily made up for it.

Pros: This property was amazing- we enjoyed our seaside p 2 bedroom pool villa so much. The staff and all the people of Thailand we came into contact with were above and beyond the nicest and accommodating to us. Amazing, relaxing family vacation. I even left a few dresses and the hotel staff was so kind to mail them to me. Thank you so much for everything!

Pros: Loved having a private pool and hot tub. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful hotel and great location on lovely Lamai beach.

Cons: There were plenty of breakfast options but the quality wasn’t great.

Pros: Amazing place, the pool villa is incredible with a lot of space and privacy. We didn't want to get out from this place so we extended our vacation. The staff are really nice and you have a free billiard table and ping pong. The room was few meters from the beach so it was amazing. You have everything you need around the neighborhood. The place is 20min from Chaweng which is great if you want quiet. They have free ride to the taxi area and to Lamai center in case you want to get out from the area.

Pros: It’s a very quiet hotel and there are only very few people staying. The view is fantastic but the only regret is that we didn’t get the chance to see the sunrise.

Cons: It’s a little bit far from the center of the town. But the hotel offer a tuk tuk transfer and that’s quite helpful.

Pros: Everything was great! Service was fantastic and the room was spotless clean. Beautifully decorated resort with a great beach. 2 mins walk to the city center, makes it the best place to be. Loved it and i hope to come back!!

Pros: Very good stuff, smiling all the time and ready to help you with anything. The architecture of the place and services. We had our own swimming pool by the room which was very nice to be in the evening.

Cons: Not enough sun beds around the main swimming pool. You have to ,,fight” since morning for your place. In this context was not good that a five star hotel accepted a cruise group (not guests of hotel) for half of the day that occupied places by breakfast, by the swimming pool and for lunch. We had to ask for some solution and had to be by the beach directly with no option by the pool. Not a good decision from the management. Small space around the swimming pool. Sometimes very old towels. High prices in the restaurant (not necessary to be that high).

Pros: I would say the property needs to relook at how they portrayed theor services. If i visit Koh Samui again i would relook and choose some other.

Cons: The hotel absolutely does not deserve 5 stars. We cannot understand why a member of Marriott Bonvoy it is. The hotel is old and in our opinion requires capital renovation and reconstruction. Internet works very bad. In most places the Internet connection is so bad that often it is not even possible to download emails or open a website. It could be acceptable 10-15 years ago but not today. We saw 3 types of rooms and layout inside them was not guest friendly. The worst rooms were the ones with small pools inside and entrance from so called garden but the garden was just a passage area between the reception and beach/ restaurant. The small pools are useless at this time of the year because of cold water. Inner doors in rooms are noisy. Walking to/from attached bathrooms which are in open air area (not airconditioned) and necessity of closing that noisy doors in the night was really annoying. There are no irons in the rooms. The rack for luggage has space only for 1 suitcase. The hotel is at the beach but during the high tide which is most of the daytime it is impossible to lay on the beach. The towels at the swimming pool were often dirty like they were not washed but just rearranged and stacked again. If the towels had some unremovable stains, the personnel should get rid of them and buy new ones but it looked that nobody cared. Prices shown in menu cards in the restaurant and bars are net without service (10 %) and VAT tax (7%). At the beginning you get shocked getting bills with almost 20 % higher amounts to be paid than expected. Breakfasts were OK. In general we could notice lack of proper management and lack of supervision there.

Pros: The room was amazing and the resort is very scenic with the beach on your door step. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The first night we had an issue with our room and they changed it immediately to an upgraded room at no extra costs. Excellent staff and very friendly!

Cons: Meals and drinks are over priced at the hotel. We had dinner and it was average, nothing spectacular but i only had the Pad Thai which seemed like they had it precooked and it did not taste great, I am unsure what their other dishes taste like. Eating out was much cheaper and excellent.

Pros: The hotel itself is quite impressive. The rooms are really nice and really good/solid quality. Service, staff and breakfast excellents. It’s a real 5 start hotel.

Cons: If you are passionate about beaches, this may not be your first option. The beach of the hotel is very narrow (the sand part) and you can’t swim. Having said that, one of the nicest beaches of the island is 5 minutes (walking) away from the hotel and they even provide you with free shuttles.

Cons: Stayed here 4 times now , we love the place and the location, food is great too . The owner is so helpful and will sort out anything you need

The hotel owner speaks very good English and sets high standards. Close to the hotel is a laundry, small supermarket and money changer. Pharmacy and taxi rank are a short walk away. At night the hotel is very quiet. This is a good holiday experience for retired people needing all facilities close at hand. Chris from U.K.

Cons: The private area of beach is kept clean but it is quite small. The areas of beach away from the hotel were busier but quite a lot of plastic bottles....some tourists including myself picked up the bottles. CHRIS.

Cons: I was given older room, very tired decor and room. Resident cockroaches!

Pros: Very nice and peaceful place right on the beach with a small nice pool. The room (kind of double-bungalow) was very big, clean and cosy. They upgraded our room without asking. The food of the restaurant was quite good and the young lady serving in the restaurant was very sweet. There was also massage on the beach, that was very good.

Cons: The resort was a bit far from Lamai centre so there was not so many restaurants to choose in the neighbourhood, but of course this is not resorts fault.

Cons: We booked our room through kayak and the front desk staff told us that we couldn’t have reserved a room because they had no Standard rooms available but only beach front for three times the price (this was also 8pm). Once I showed them our receipt she called another lady over who confirmed that we did book once they also analyzed our confirmation receipt. We then had a choice of 3 different standard rooms? Furthermore, we wanted to extend our stay the next day and although we could book through Kayak they said they had no rooms available. This is the first time this has happened at any hotel. Hmmmm..
