Ko Samui hotels near Bang Rak Pier

Pros: The hotel and facilities are immaculate. As people have said before the photos don’t do it justice ! It is a wow factor . All the staff are very attentive . We especially liked joe who recommended us places to go around the island . The shuttle service is such an efficient service to and from fisherman’s village and cheaweng nothing too much trouble for all the staff . The food in the restaurant is a high standard and so is the breakfast

Pros: The rooms are fully equipped and extremely comfortable. The pool is a good size perfect for exercise - not just leisure. The gym is well equipped. Closest beach - only 3 blocks - and the hotel will zip you there in a tuk-tuk, is peaceful paradise. Staff and management are friendly and approachable. Even the music played poolside is lovely. Fantastic experience.

Pros: Staff are amazing, food was also perfect and the breakfast is a 10/10. I would definitely come back. Also, the spa is extremely relaxing and the massages are the best I've ever had.

Pros: We absolutely loved our stay! The staff is amazing. Always friendly and they really take care of you. We needed to go to the doctor and it was no problem to bring us there. If you have any question or request you can just call them! The room (we got a studio) was clean and luxurious with a small kitchen and a sitting area with flatscreen. The pool is really big. And if you want to relax by the sea, you can book a free transfer to their beach club including an amazing infinity-pool and seafront. Location is ok. Not many restaurants in the neighborhood, but a supermarket at walking distance. The hotel offers transfers to Fisherman’s village and Chaweng for 50 baht pp, so it was easy to get around. Food is a bit expensive, but of good quality. The breakfast was extensive, 4 different kinds of homemade bread, eggs, pancakes, fresh cheeses...

Pros: We stayed here for 5 nights in July and the hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and the staff were so friendly - the beach was also very beautiful and quiet We booked a Thai cooking class with the hotel and it was so much fun! Definitely recommend! The hotel was also very close to the fisherman’s village which we would definitely recommend- lots of little shops and amazing places to eat!

Cons: This lovely location 5 star resort is in need of some TLC. Holes in pavers and lack lighting on uneven paths, forgot to clean our room on the last day, breakfast too expensive for what you get. holes in bedlinen, buffet good, but cream deserts left in heat on buffet table for 2 hours they where hot and runny and should have be on ice or in a cold fridge.

Cons: Check in process was a little slow. You're charged every time you want to use the van shuttle, would be nice if that was included in price. Pool drinks were pricey.

Cons: A little over priced and have to taxi for Chaweng. One of the rock pool bar staff was rude. I had my breakfast early morning (just a coffee and a bread) and was bringing my young girl for breakfast later, without double checking she bumped in said “sorry you can’t have breakfast again.”, without realising that I was bringing my mom and Daughter for breakfast. it was really disrespectful and rude. After paying 600$ per night, you don’t expect this kind of stingy attitude and disrespectful attitude.

Pros: The villa was much bigger than expected, and each bedroom had its own bathroom, which was a nice bonus. They also unlocked another room for us with twin beds and an ensuite bathroom for the same cost as an extra bed, which was quite nice of them. The kitchen, dining area, living room area, and pool area were spacious and just the right size for our party of 5 adults and one baby - it didn't feel cramped at all. The bedroom curtains are not quite blackout-quality but it kept out most of the morning light - I think most of the villas here face east so we also saw some great sunrises too. The breakfast buffet is adequate, but we ordered omelettes, sausages, bacon, french toast, and iced coffees every morning from the kitchen and the portion sizes were excellent. All the waitstaff were very friendly, especially with our baby, and they even helped hold him in front of a giant fan so we could quickly finish our breakfasts. Location-wise, it was fine for us since we were in Koh Samui for a wedding and the venue was a few minutes away, the airport is also just a few minutes away, and we had no plans to go exploring other parts of the island given our baby's schedule. It's about a twenty minute drive to Bophut, and probably around the same to Chaweng.

Cons: It's not really a negative per se, but the restaurant is outdoors so it was just really hot when we were eating there. They have some fans, but not all the tables are positioned to benefit. Understandable from an energy-conscious standpoint so I'm docking them any points for it, but that's something that should be noted if you really can't handle the heat. The beach at the base of the property isn't the greatest either.

Pros: Villa’s are very spacious & view from the balcony was also very nice. Staff were all cooperative & standing to help you.

Cons: Food is the main concern......!!! There restaurant menu hardly had anything for vegetarians nor there breakfast buffet. I am vegetarian so I had no option but to order from outside or go out & eat. I strongly feel that they should have some vegetarian section in there menu & the person who’s there to take order please train them in English so that we can explain them properly what we need.

Pros: Size of the villa (huge), comfortable bed, friendliness of the staff, everything squeaky clean, good breakfast options, great "Kanda Mobile Phone" with hotspot capability for use outside of the premises and loaded with useful information on the resort and excursion options, etc. We had a three-bedroom villa for my wife and I and a separate room for each of our teenage boys who were spoiled with their own privacy / private bathrooms.

Cons: Two things: 1. Construction site next door (April/May 2019) which looks like a huge project (long lasting) causes construction noise which is not overly loud but Kanda itself is outside of Chewang (about 5 km away) so we expected peace and quiet and tranquility but that's not what we got. The hotel failed to inform us of this prior to our arrival which I don't think is fair, also no reduction or free services offered to compensate. Also, construction continues into the night with banging and machine noise and also on Sunday the fellows work on the construction site. So, if you have a noisy phase of the project, you'll have a noisy holiday when at Kanda. I understand that this is not something that Kanda can influence, but I think a price reduction would be in order! 2. Location of Kanda: You cannot walk to Chewang along the road - too narrow and too much traffic. So you need to take some form of transport. The hotel shuttle doesn't run too often so we ended up taking the hotel taxi numerous times and then using a standard taxi to get back to the hotel. If you do this thing once a day, you're looking at roughly USD 20 extra per day to get out of Kanda and back (for Chewang), somewhat more if you want to go further, e.g. Fisherman's Village. Also, walking along the beach sounds like a romantic option but a) the route is quite rocky and b) long (we did it once which was a welcome adventure but not something you'd do regularly) - it takes about 40 minutes to get from Kanda to Chewang along the rocks/beach. Location would be less of a problem if there was a good choice of eateries but there is only the rather expensive Rock Pool Restaurant. We ate there three times but if you end up paying similar prices to back home that takes the fun out of it somewhat.

Pros: Lovely villas, we were fortunate enough to have had a sea view villa. But our villa was tired inside. Villa was clean but things like the soft furnishings ie blinds broken, stained and holes in them. Would have been good if shuttle had run more than twice a day into Chaweng. Rockpool Restaurant food & beverages good but not exceptional, quite a few years since this award winning restaurant appears to have won an award. Staff all very pleasant, helpful & responsive. Kanda will need to up there game though with new Hyatt opening right next door within the next 12 to 18 months.

Cons: Tired furnishing & finishings in the Villa. Frequency of shuttle running into Chaweng. No usable beach.

Pros: The pool villa is excellent. Beautiful plants, comfortable living room and breathtaking views from the rock pool. Besides, the location is close to the most popular beach, only 10 mins drive.

Pros: Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Smart device to use throughout stay for calling guest services, getting picked up, maps, calling home, etc. Rock pool restaurant was great food. Villas were spacious, clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and will return.

Cons: Separate buildings within the 3 bed villas so the master was on its own and our children were in a building across from the pool. Didn’t realise until we arrived. It worked out fine though.

Pros: If you look for a beach club then keep looking. This is designed to be one place for adults playground but instead is children playing all the day and night. The personal also plays billar all time and that makes the attention poor in relation to the prices they take and the surplus 17% in every price you see at the bar and restaurant

Pros: Its rather individual and smacks of the owners personality; he patrols the place in the day with a keen eye for detail, fun and service. Do you remember when the phrase 'Boutique Hotel' meant something and didn't just mean: small and painted white? The Ezra is small and painted white, but that only serves to frame the beautiful party pool and view of the beach. Its great. Its a one off and its full of people, mainly young, tattooed and celebrating finishing their national service in the Israeli army, having a good time. There are also many fab bars and restaurants in easy walking distance either way down the beach. Its also jolly handy for the airport. Its a hoot. I've been 5 times, and Samui 6. I didn't know about it the first time.

Cons: The bar and pool staff literally ignore you in favour of playing pool and other stuff when the owner is not around. Needs a good under manger in the evening to keep the show on the road and the locals on point.

Pros: Location: Not on the beach, but as close as possible to it. On the other hand it is close to the restaurants and supermarkets. Staff: Fulfilled all our requests and generally tried to do their best.

Cons: Private pools were quite dirty, and waterfalls were broken in our first room. When we changed the rooms, pools were in better conditions, but the water in it was so chlorinated, that it was no pleasure at all to swim in it.

Cons: Everything was great. Location for us was good as it was quieter, some lovely restaurants near by (‘Mother’ in particular was very good) but not very lively. Fine for us but people looking for more nightlife would need to Taxi elsewhere.

Pros: I have stayed at this property twice already with my boyfriend and we both absolutely love the rooms, staff and location. We've stayed both in a private pool villa and also just a balcony room, both were excellent- spacious, modern decor. The staff go above an beyond to make you feel welcome. ChongMon is a quiet area with some good restaurants nearby, and the beach across the street is a beautiful quiet bay. I would highly recommend this resort to couples looking for a romantic getaway, as well as families who want a great family friendly pool and location. We're already looking into booking our next stay at the Baywater <3

Cons: Breakfast a sheer disaster. Cheese and other food was completely warm, and this at 7.45am in the morning. The waitress apparently did not care too much as she was more concerned about her mobile. In general, the food made a lousy impression, and i had to return half of it as it was not digestible.

Pros: Bungalow with pool was lovely. The place was spacious and had good WiFi. The breakfast was varied and large selection. Good quality. The beach towels and bag were a great idea. The hotel is in a nice location and easy to get anywhere by taxi or to walk. Chief Mon is under developed compared to some of the bigger places but we liked that with nice restaurants on the beach. The owners would let you have a free subbed all day for the price of a drink.

Cons: The hotel is a bit shabby round the edges. It needs maintenance very soon: broken pool tiles and mismatched decking. It’s starting to look unprofessional. It wouldn’t take much to sort this before it becomes too problematic. The hotel was quiet but there were only a few sun beds by the pool. A bit odd as there was more than enough space and so it looked uncared for and mostly couldn’t be used by many people. Odd.
