7,0 Good
Pros: The greeting at reception (when we found it !) was warm and friendly and the staff spoke very good English. The room, bed, bathroom and shower were reasonably spacious and adequate for a 1 night stop. We had our evening meal in the restaurant; there were others in the area but we were tired after a 300 mile drive.
Cons: From the postcode it took us several 'sweeps' of Houffalize before we spotted the hotel. It's on the corner of a busy area so eyes were on the very busy road outside rather than peering for the hotel sign which was not immediately obvious. Having found the hotel, we then had the issue of finding a place to park, and by luck we found a car park across the road around 200m, away. Not sure if this is where hotel guests normally park, but I'm not exaggerating to say it was around 45 minutes after reaching the town, that we finally walked into the hotel. We found ourselves with our cases in the main bar/restaurant and someone eventually told us hotel reception is at the back of the hotel, which it was. Regulars at the hotel would probably use a side door, and when we walked out the following morning it looked as if there may have been parking in the street at the back. Meal in restaurant was good, though expensive, and service was slow. We sat waiting for our food for 45 minutes, and it wasn't busy. Served by a friendly man who also had checked us in and seemed to be doing everything, maybe with the exception of cooking the food ! Houffalize pretty town for a 1 night stop on the way back to ferry but don't think we'll revisit.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent; the (very friendly and relaxed) hostess served a three-course breakfast, after which you could continue with a large variety of bread and things to put on it. It made me feel like a king! The room we had breakfast in overlooked the backyard, which has a river running through it. There is also a nice sauna which you can use, and you may peek in every book (art, readables, whatever ypu like) you can find. The beds were neatly made, in a small but not too smaal room with a nice small bathroom (that smelled nice), including a nice shower. Nothing fancy, but practical and very neat. You may come and go as you like, and we did, since it immediately felt like our 'home' for two days.
Cons: The lighting in the room could be more subtle (dimmable?), not that it really bothered but there's my suggestion of improvement. Oh, yes, if you're a frequent phone-user: the reception is poor, but that is logical since you're in a valley...the WiFi workt perfectly however,
