Did not get the car I booked for. Car was not completely cleaned. Gas tank was half full. Car was old, over 53,000 miles on it. Car has front alignment problem, vibrating when using the break.Reviewed Jul 16 2023

I learned a major thing with my recent rental from Hertz. If anything goes wrong with the car, you must complete a breakdown report or you will not get payed. I rented from Hertz via Kayak previously. The car had a dead headlamp which I did not notice. I drove the car on a long trip. I was stopped by the police when it got dark for having a dead headlamp and got a ticket. I had to fix the car in about 2-3 days to resolve the ticket. I bought a headlamp and installed it myself after calling the Hertz breakdown support phone line. I have records of the phone call, but Hertz would not pay for the lightbulb, because I did not do a full report via the breakdown support line. The person on the phone said just buy a bulb or have it repaired, and they will pay. But I believe, because it was not directly through Hertz and no report was made they refused to pay, after 2 requests including the police report and record of the call. Glad I work on my own cars, so I removed the bulb and took it after the rental. I was maybe going to get a Hertz credit at the rental place, but I wanted money back as I don't rent direct from Hertz.Reviewed Jul 11 2023

Worst experience ever. We were ask to pick up the car at 12 but the shop closed at 13. Impossible to rent another car in Atlanta. We miss 2 night out of our cabin rental and had to pay an hotel. Will never go through this website againReviewed May 8 2023

I had a reservation for a minivan for my family of six. When I arrived at the counter, the first thing the assistant told me was “we don’t have any cars for three hours.” They did not ask for any of my details, they just said there were no cars for anyone and there was nothing they could do about it. Very unhelpful and borderline rude. After about an hour of searching for other options online, I went back to the desk and asked them to confirm the wait. The same assistant told me “well we have minivans.” When I told them that was what I reserved, she said “well you should have told me that when you checked in.” Very disappointing experience.Reviewed Feb 25 2023

We had a terrible experience with our drop off. We had to change our plans and our original pickup location was closed. We called Hertz and we were on the phone for 2 hrs being transferred around. No one could help us figure out what we were supposed to do with the car. Finally we just took it to the airport (airport staff was extremely rude) where again no one knew how to help. We ended up getting charged $2,200. We then went to the Hertz counter where a kind lady talked to her manager and helped us get our original prices. I will absolutely NEVER use Hertz again. Their staff is UNFRIENDLY and have no idea how to help!Reviewed Jan 3 2023
