Pros: The breakfast selection was very varied and fresh. I just wish there were more berries available. The location is absolutely central and pefect for all sights. The staff all do their best to make you feel cheerful and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are absolutely delightful. They gave me an umbrella when it was raining even though I had one in the room closet.

Pros: The staff of Hotel Kamp made the experience wonderful! They were welcoming and friendly, patiently explaining proper procedure for using the sauna, providing extra robes and towels. The sauna itself was spotless and soothing, with the staff quietly appearing every few minutes to remove soiled towels and drinking glasses, and refill the complimentary water and gloggi pitchers. Our deluxe room was also spotless and beautiful. When we returned to our room after supper, the staff had come in to turn down the beds. They also folded the clothes we had tossed on the bed, laid cloths and Kamp slippers next to the bedside where we would first step in the morning. Candy and a water bottle was on each side of the bed as well. Even the trash container in the bathroom had been recently emptied and the first sheet of toilet paper had been refolded to a point. It showed an attention to detail I have never experienced in a hotel before. In addition we dined for our Christmas Eve dinner in the Kamp Brasserie. The food was exceptional, the smoked salmon delicious, the goose leg tender and succulent! For dessert they accommodated my request to switch desserts from the prearranged Christmas menu to another selection, my favorite Snow Egg. Overall, the dining experience was relaxed, unhurried, quiet with an occasional live entertainment of Christmas carols. We had a wonderful time. Next year I intend to fly my sons and their wives to Finland to spend Christmas with me at the Hotel Kamp!

Cons: As a five star hotel I think they should be able to communicate in both national languages: Finnish and Swedish but they refused to talk Swedish. The promised daily paper was not delivered. Waiting time for getting a breakfast table. All of these are small things but we are now talking about a five star hotel with a premium price. The expectations are thus high.

Cons: The restaurant encloses the sidewalk in glass to expand the available seating area. We were seated next to the temporary glass wall, and a cool breeze could be felt near our feet throughout the meal. We weren't cold, but we needed to wrap our shawls around our shoulders to stay comfortable.
The doors to the saunas squeaked and could use a squirt of WD40.

Pros: This was my first trip to Helsinki. The trip was for work and the Helka seemed the best hotel in the area and I'm absolutely thrilled that I went with my instinct and booked it. It's in a great location for getting around the city - everything seemed a short walk away. The staff - reception and housekeeping team - were always smiling, welcoming, and friendly. Always on hand with information to any questions that we had. They made me feel always at ease. I'm planning to return to Helsinki in the coming months and will definitely consider staying at the Helka again.

Cons: I only wish that there were more options on the breakfast buffet. Of course, I'm well aware that whenever I'm travelling in a foreign country, the food culture is always going to be different. It was nice to have a few local Finnish dishes on the breakfast buffet, but I missed the simple things like scrambled eggs.

Staff were amazing - we arrived quite flustered but the lady on reception couldn't have been more helpful. She was also there the next morning and helped us work out how to use the trams in the city (download the HSL app - very easy). Room comfy, dark at night and no noises from other rooms - really good view too (we were on 15th floor). Parking is around a 5 minute walk from the hotel and you need a code from reception to enter (we weren't aware of this and were looking for the "nearby" parking in the hotel description Location good - a 10 minute tram to the attractions and lots of nice restaurants around (including the one at the hotel, best fries we've ever had).

Cons: The hotel is beautiful, although they could expend the services. For example we didn’t know that in standard rooms the bathrobes and slippers are not provided. We were on the 11th floor and didn’t know how to get to the swimming pool on the 16th floor and how to comeback with wet clothes. I called to reception and room service (they answered from the second call by the way) but they told us to pay 20 euros more for two sets. Actually this would be the better present for our anniversary - to give it for free, instead of a couple of candies with the postcard in FINNISH language which we couldn’t understand... and the floor is a bit cold in the room so it was very uncomfortable without slippers. So our advice to you - do not book standard rooms, pay a little bit more for the full set. And also we needed a knife to cut the fruits, and as I myself work in the hotel, didn’t expect such a problem for the staff. But they told us to go upstairs to the 16 floor to ask them if they have a knife....

I visited Clarion two times this month and two times I got info that they run out from good rooms and I got lowest floor with street view. Last time I believed in that but this time it happened that my colleague who was checking in just after me (he booked his room not via booking.com) got much better place at 15th floor. Well I received a coupon to make it me happier... I saw that that front desk receptionist was feeling awkward. Unfortunately I have another stay planned there but I think it will be last time. 2. Cons: When they tell breakfast is until 10 it means at 10 o’clock the personnel took away all food without saying anything. Actually they take at first spoons and forks from food plates away so you can’t take anything more. Usually in hotel of that category personnel asks from customers if they want still take something before they end the service. People were really disappointed and so were we. Room was not very clean. Under chairs was a lot of dusty.

The location is about a 20 minute walk south of City Centre train & bus station and tram #6 and #9 stop close to the hotel from City Centre. The room is functional, clean and typical for Europe. The hotel is secure, requiring key card access at all time to room hallways and elevators. The breakfast was one of the better ones in my experience. A good selection of cold and hot items. It is more than the usual continental style selection. Breakfast was included in my room rate. The room is a nice size with a nice bathroom set-up.

Pros: We stayed in the one bedroom apartment which is a large studio apartment. It was clean, spacious and quiet. There are basic cooking facilities ie a microwave and hotplates and a supermarket close by. Good location, close to the tram stop or approx. a 20 minute walk into the centre of Helsinki. A bonus was having free access to a washing machine and dryer. The apartments are a little dated but this wasn't a problem for us and we were told that there are plans for updating them soon. Staff are very friendly and helpful. This is our second stay here and will stay again if in Helsinki.

Cons: Housekeeping sucks! The room (534) was unclean when we got there and was not cleaned properly throughout our entire stay. Dust on the headboard, on the lamps, on top of the TV, and the nightstands. We found a dirty rag underneath the wardrobe and it stayed there the whole time we were there. The supply of coffee for the coffee machine was never replenished. And, the worst of all, even though the "Do Not Disturb" sign was on the door, housekeeping STILL entered the room, and took the "Do Not Disturb" sign with them (it never returned). There was also a piece of plastic from a clothing tag in the rug when we arrived and it remained there throughout our stay, which means that the rug was never vacuumed. The tassel on the bedside lamp closer to the door was falling off and there were fingerprints and palm prints on the doors and the tabletop when we arrived. The cupboard doors were sticking when we tried to open and close them; almost as if they had been improperly fitted into the kitchenette. The AC did not work properly. The lowest it would go was 23,2°C but it mostly stayed at 25,7°C (note, that it was well over 30°C outside). The hotel provided us with a fan to use when we had 2-3 days left of our stay, but also offered us a relocation to a different room that was smaller. That would have been our third room in this hotel during our stay (the first one was so small that we couldn't fit our stuff in there), and since we were headed out of town for an overnight stay later that afternoon, we figured it wouldn't be worth it.

Pros: Easy to reach from airport, just using a bus number 415 and you will be at hotel. The room was good enough size, clean wifi connection is ok. Breakfast has several options. 10-15 minute walk to city center, and it is quite good because the road is really cool.

Cons: The temperature of the air conditioning in the room couldn’t be changed. The cleaning wasn’t the best and they forgot to renew the towels one day. The toilet paper was also scarcely restocked.

The staff were very odd about giving directions. They didn't seem to know how to tell me, "The airport bus stop is ACROSS THE STREET." And they were likewise vague about how to find a nearby ATM; one person told me, "It's a few blocks away in that direction." And the next person, "I think there is one behind the hotel." For travelers, it's kind of important to know this! The restaurant staff is just a little bizarre.

Cons: The usually smooth breakfast service was extremely chaotic. On arrival the breakfast was served on the ninth floor, just as it usually is in the summer months when there are many families staying. But half way through our stay, the times changed to a shorter period, and it moved to the ground floor which is far too cramped when the hotel is full, resulting in no tables free to sit and eat the food. All items were running out and were not being replaced, so you had to stand, queue, and wait for the food to arrive from the kitchen. It was most unpleasant and disappointing. Also we stay here to enjoy the pool and sauna. The pool was open, the sign indicating the sauna was open but the sauna was not heated. When we asked, we were told that it was only morning sauna in the summer!! We stayed 8th.August for 5 nights. We presumed we were staying in the summer!

The Italian restaurant Toscanini, which is part of the hotel facilities, is very good. Breakfast is delicious and rich, full of local Finnish delights. The bed was really comfortable, the WI-FI and the shower worked perfectly, the gym is small but well-equipped. My room was spacious, had a lot of natural light and a nice view of the Helsinki roofs. Everything was spotlessly clean.

Cons: My room, an upgraded single, was dusty, the air/temperature control did not work and couldn't be fixed, the reading light (the only non accent light in the room) was broken and it wasn't the bulb and they had no replacement for it, another accent light (large tube with pin holes) had come out of the wall and was sitting in the only chair with me (no room to move chair). No one was available to look at these things until the next day; I could not be moved to another room. I really think these are problems they should have found and repaired themselves.

One last thing: a few more sweet options for breakfast would make it just perfect.

Cons: The bathroom I checked in had intense feces smell, seems someone just went to #2 in the bathroom. I changed the room. Later the night, I clogged the toilet (which very rarely happen to me). The front desk staff said there is no one to fix as it was late at night. I had to either change the room again or stay in the current room and go to the bathroom in another room (the one whose bathroom had intense feces smell). The hotel was physically beautiful and the room was nicely cleaned, but this experience ruined my only one night stay in Helsinki. I felt very uncomfortable staying in this Glo Hotel. I would never stay here again and will never recommend it to anyone I know.

Cons: The bathroom 'cubicle' in the bedroom - the shower door did not really close meaning that everything got wet easily - but it wasn't really a wet room. The sliding door to the bathroom did not really shut and even with a small push to open clanged loudly along the sliding track. There was a very circuitous route to the room from Reception involving many opening of doors using the room key and many changes of level. It was disappointing to be in a kind of annex rather than the original hotel building. Weirdly on one of the staircases/lift access points there was a fearful smell rather like burnt food and rotting vegetables - necessary to hold one's breath in that area!

Free sauna from 7 till 10 in the morning. The facilities are all there, towels, bed linen, toilet paper, you can also borrow a hairdryer for free with a little deposit. Reception open 24 hours, personnel always available. Ideal position in the city centre, very easy to reach and to move from there.

Cons: The loudness. The bed could have a real mattress instead of a foam.

Pros: Staff was really helpful and location is really good. Also Restaurant is awesome.
Cons: The all corridor was really smelly for 4 days I have to sleep while Windows are open and use house odors to avoid bad smell. Showers were inconvenient some of them has transparent doors, and blankets doesn't seem clean so I have to cover everything with bed linens before I sleep

Cons: For that price in most EU states one could have a four-star accommodation, with breakfast included. This was the standard of just an average student dorm.

Pros: We booked a twin room with shared bathroom. Considering the high prices in the city it wasn’t so expensive, there were only 2 toilets on the floor all well cleaned. Comfortable showers. Free sauna from 7 till 10 in the morning. The facilities are all there, towels, bed linen, toilet paper, you can also borrow a hairdryer for free with a little deposit. Reception open 24 hours, personnel always available. Ideal position in the city centre, very easy to reach and to move from there.

Pros: I enjoyed both the style and the service. My room was clean, provided with what one might need, and relatively silent. Check in and was super easy, the staff very friendly. There is a luggage storage room for people leaving the city after check out time. I did not get to try it, unfortunately, but if I understood correctly the sauna is free in the evening.

Pros: Great central location close to downtown and port if you plan to take the ferry for the day trip to Tallinn. Staff were very friendly and courteous.
Cons: Bathrooms, which are shared for the entire floor, were a bit messy.

Pros: With regards to the room, it was very modern, clean and well equipped with everything needed to make our stay comfortable, including air conditioning. The location is also a big plus as it is just a 5 minute walk away from the central rail station of Helsinki which gives access to pretty much anywhere in the city.
