Cons: The steam machine in the sauna didn't work as expected, and much of the other guests in the sauna complained in Russian, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and English, without much success during the 3 days of our stay. The swimming pool is smaller than the picture shows and .... it's outdoor, on top of the hotel (so very windy). It must be nice in a hot summer, but we didn't enjoy the cold wind after swimming. The hotel bar is a must try if you don't already enjoy the view from your room. It's kind of hype, which is not our taste, but surely other people like this.

Cons: Perhaps it was just the time of year I was visiting (Chinese New Year around the corner) but my one criticism (although I know not much could be done about it) is that everywhere in the hotel was so busy, you had to stay in your room whenever you were at the hotel just to get some peace and quiet - you couldn't relax in the bar/restaurant, the lounge or the spa because they were all so busy on the occasions I visited, breakfast was particularly busy from start to finish (although better in the lounge!)

Pros: Stayed in this hotel because it was just a walking distance to the helsinki harbour, white cathedral, shopping district and the central station is right next to your your hotel. It only needed a 1-minute walk.
Cons: The room we were given was really good however the hairdryer and water boiler weren't working. We called the operator/reception and we were told that there was an error in the room system. We had to repack our stuffs and headed down to reception to receive another key and drag our luggages ourselves to our replacement-room. The receptionist didn't even offer to help us take our luggage upstairs for the second time. And it wasn't even our fault. Our original room had a bathtub on it, however our second room only had shower in it and it was smaller in size. So we were quite disappointed.

The hotel is secure, requiring key card access at all time to room hallways and elevators. The breakfast was one of the better ones in my experience. A good selection of cold and hot items. It is more than the usual continental style selection. Breakfast was included in my room rate. The room is a nice size with a nice bathroom set-up.

Cons: Even though the pillows are similar to memory foam, they were too soft so it felt like you were sinking flat even with 2 stacked. It's odd to have no shower doors or curtain so when you shower, you would flood the bathrooms.

Cons: The room on level 1 floor overlooked a bus stop. The windows are low so when you are stood up you see the wall not the view. You have to be sat down for crouch to see the dock. Although you get a good view of the bus stop and the driver. The room was cold. I tried to adjust the temp from 21 to 24 degrees and 21 felt cold more like 18. The controller said it would take 6 hours to increase the temperature ... see photo. So I went to bed hoping it would warm up during the night. It did not so I had to have 2 quilts which were summer tog not winter tog. The fire alarm went off at 9am. I grabbed a bag and a coat and evacuated the hotel. No one else evacuated the hotel. The staff said every time someone burns toast in the restaurant the alarm goes off.

Cons: Room looked "tired". The carpet was worn, looked dirty and was in obvious need of replacement. Pros: I liked the interior of the room. It was in style. I liked the location. I went to Helsinki to visit a music show in the Ice Hall which is a 15min walk from the hotel and 5 min ride by the tram. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was quite diverse and there were enough sitting space. I like the option to do a self-checkout by just dropping the cards into the special box.

Cons: We stayed in mid-January, so a cold wind slowly blew from the air conditioning system. Not very cold, of course. But I would prefer not seaming it or at least make it warm. I have increased the temperature in the room to the max of 24C but it didn't take an effect.

The staff were very odd about giving directions. They didn't seem to know how to tell me, "The airport bus stop is ACROSS THE STREET." And they were likewise vague about how to find a nearby ATM; one person told me, "It's a few blocks away in that direction." And the next person, "I think there is one behind the hotel." For travelers, it's kind of important to know this! The restaurant staff is just a little bizarre.

Cons: First of all, it was way too expensive for its value. My partner and I found a lot of hair in our bed, so the sheets were definitely not changed or not properly washed. We even found pubic hair. After we reported it at the reception, we got another room. However, the bed in the other room had dirty sheets as well and was also full of hair and pubic hair. We had a terrible night and our evening was ruined. The receptionist didn't compensate this to us whatsoever and didn't suggest another solution.

Cons: My room, an upgraded single, was dusty, the air/temperature control did not work and couldn't be fixed, the reading light (the only non accent light in the room) was broken and it wasn't the bulb and they had no replacement for it, another accent light (large tube with pin holes) had come out of the wall and was sitting in the only chair with me (no room to move chair). No one was available to look at these things until the next day; I could not be moved to another room. I really think these are problems they should have found and repaired themselves.

Pros: Room was very clean, sort of a maze to get to room, but it definitely made you feel safe knowing only you and other guests had access to the floor you were staying on. The breakfast was absolutely amazing I would suggest getting there right when it opens so that you can find a seat. Don’t be afraid to sit with someone you don’t know either it’s part of traveling!!

While my room was small, it had an awesome vibe and decor to it that made me feel at ease. The concierges, who spoke great English were always there to give me tips and directions to local hot spots. The overall decor and aesthetic of the hotel was beyond my wildest expectations. This building was so beautiful that I cannot express them in words. The only thing I can say is experience it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Oh did I mention the sauna and the breakfast buffet were INCREDIBLE.

Cons: The room was small and ultra modern which is a stark contrast to the jugend (art noveaux) exterior and entrance. I was never a big fan of the modern stuff and it is disappointing to mix so great old building with modernism. Also, it was extremely hard to get the room to warm up to even 22C in the middle of the summer.

Cons: Inexpericened personal not very friendly. Didn't take your presence very seriuos. No coordination between hotel personal. Very rude behavior from the room service personel. You will as a guest find someone enter your room witout any previous warning, expecting you to give them acces to the room for whatever reason the may have.

Cons: The bathroom I checked in had intense feces smell, seems someone just went to #2 in the bathroom. I changed the room. Later the night, I clogged the toilet (which very rarely happen to me). The front desk staff said there is no one to fix as it was late at night. I had to either change the room again or stay in the current room and go to the bathroom in another room (the one whose bathroom had intense feces smell). The hotel was physically beautiful and the room was nicely cleaned, but this experience ruined my only one night stay in Helsinki. I felt very uncomfortable staying in this Glo Hotel. I would never stay here again and will never recommend it to anyone I know.

Cons: you share a shower with a lot of people not only your rommates, and it's outside the room, and the shower door it only covering from your knee to your neck depending on your height, and it's a batwing doors, so there is a 1cm for you to peek, it's disturbing for a little bit if you care about privacy. Don't get me wrong I loved the hostel but i thought this needs to be shared.
