Cons: Nada.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff Comfort overall
Cons: No comments
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is nice but quite expensive. Our room was lovely with a huge balcony, the bed was super comfortable and we had a nice seating area as well. The free mini bar is a nice touch. There are nice toiletries in the bathroom as well. The location is nice, you can easily walk into the town centre and there is a parking garage within waling distance of the hotel. We've stayed here many times before and will no doubt be back.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect destination for a stay in Ghent. The hotel is beautiful, well kept, perfectly located and the staff provides amazing service and courtesy. Very recommended!
Cons: There was nothing not to like.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stay, friendly staff, loved the valet parking, close to city center, quiet area during the night, clean room, roomy bathroom, all in all a great experience.
Cons: Nothing to complain.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Room space very limited
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Spa treatments with Evelyn. Excellent massage. Decor beautiful! Recent renovations. Loved the paired down modern style with the traditional building. Although not a fan of artificial flowers, these were done understated effectively. Loved the location for walks around Ghent and access to restaurants but the Bistro in the hotel was a nice afternoon break. Good breakfast. Helpful reception and staff.
Cons: The lighting in our room was too low for dark walls. The central track could have been general instead of 3 clustered spots. A floor lamp with shade to allow light above and below instead of just task could help. The window looked out on building which made it darker also. The bathroom was very nice. Add a rubber mat as the shower pan was slippery when wet.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything about the hotel! The building, the staff , location. The staff were so happy helpful and felt like nothing was a problem and went out of their way. The minibar was included and they put out bottles of iced water as there was a heatwave. We didn’t eat there at all but all the pastries looked lovely.
Cons: The bathrobe was a bit small for my boyfriend, he looked a bit comical. ;)
8,0 Excellent
Pros: A bit of a special treat for us. A certain level of comfort and luxury (more so in the public areas than in our room).
Cons: A better price, of course. :)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The spa is amazing.
Cons: The menu of the bistro could be a bit more elaborated
9,5 Excellent
Pros: everything was great: welcome, location, room, breakfast, garden terrace very nice old building we didn't try the spa
Cons: nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was large and very comfortable, the breakfast was gargantuesque. The location is perfect: 5 minutes walk from the old center yet far enough to remain quite at night (even during the very lively Gentse Feesten).
Cons: Everything was great. I’d just say that the spa (pool, sauna, gym) is smaller than I had expected. During busy times, it might get a little crowded.

B&B Het Tijdloze Uur - Ghent - Building

9,3 Excellent (150 reviews)
R2 656+
Overview Reviews
Located in Ghent (Drie Leien), B&B Het Tijdloze Uur is within a 15-minute drive of Gravensteen Castle and Ghent University. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, an elevator (lift), and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful stay in a beautifully maintained property on the outskirts of Drongen by the river. The host was incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. She made us (me and my mum) feel at home from the very moment we met. On our arrival and for an additional amount (a very reasonable 30 euros each) she made us our first evening meal - which was incredibly delicious. The breakfasts were excellent, with plenty of choice - hot & cold. The property is also in very peaceful location (though a pub was being renovated nearby - so that might change), which met for a good night's sleep after busy day trips into Ghent and Brussels.
Cons: The location isn't all that near to Ghent. The main bus stop in Drongen (the centre of the village) is about a 25 minutes brisk walk. Once you get there it is then a 20-25 minutes bus into Ghent town centre or to the main station - Gent-Sint-Peters. Word of warning - if you get a Ghent Pass (48 hours/72 hours) which presents good value for money - you can use it on the all the buses to/from Drongen but it doesn't allow you to use the mainline train from Gent-Sint-Peters to Drongen.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location with good cycling paths along the river.
9,3 Excellent

4,5 Okay
Cons: Smell of tobacco smoke everywhere (maybe the landlady smokes?), shower not very clean, shower gel and shampoo dispensers empty, towels crunchy (not soft or white), lamps shades dirty and breakfast not supplied as requested (asked for meats but did not get any). On the window ledge outside of the bedroom window was a car exhaust pipe. No idea how it got there or why it was left there. At €126 not value for money.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fantastic. We were made more than welcome from the moment we arrived. The lady that owns the B&B could not have looked after us anymore than she did, it was like being at home. We cannot recommend it any higher than Excellent. 5 Stars. And would recommend it to anyone.
Cons: Nothing

10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is the most beautiful place and Jan & Marc could not have been more welcoming. The house is in a great central location, but with total peace and quiet. My stay was perfect in every respect and I can’t wait to go back!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly beautiful rooms and general interior design. Having breakfast prepared by the lovely hosts is a must as the dining room itself is worth the experience.
7,5 Good
Pros: Wonderful staff, individual rooms, unique breakfast. Perfect location
Cons: There was nothing I would change.
6,3 Good
Cons: On checking out we asked if we could leave our luggage at the property as our train back to London was much later in the day. Sadly Jan was unwilling to do this small favour for us. In many years of travelling and staying in hotels and guest houses all over the world, this is the first time we have experienced this. At these prices, the details matter and this left a very bad taste in our mouths.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic building outstanding decor very helpful owners excellent location
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was absolutely amazing experience for us to stay in B&B The Verhaegen although we are quite fastidious tourists. Here we felt like crowned heads, really!)) Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Furnishing everywhere in the hotel looks exquisitely and beautiful. I have never seen anything like this. Highly recommended!!!

5,0 Okay
Pros: Excellent Location. Otherwise an average Marriott.
Cons: From photo I thought it was a converted historic building; it's not. Service uneven; and overall I would rate it low given how expensive this particular Marriott was. I was underwhelmed by this stay. Restaurant nothing special.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Lack of swimming pool
6,3 Good
Pros: All other things.
Cons: The noise coming from the street. Sleep was impossible.
7,5 Good
Cons: About cleaning staff knocking the door in the early morning a fews time , why they just not look or check people didn’t check out yet,,
7,5 Good
Pros: I expected more character as shown in the facade of the building however the modern architecture was interesting. I liked the position and the outside furniture by the canal.
Cons: We found the queen size bed rather uncomfortable not so much because of size although it was billed as king size but due to the mattress. Also the sheets were not as good a cotton as I would expect, rather slippery and the stuffing of the pillows was definitely in need of upgrading.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location is fantastic.
Cons: Check out took too long .
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff kindness, service
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Had the rooms with river view.
Cons: Nothing.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: We had one of the rooms which faced the river, the view was amazing and well worth the extra cost if you're going to stay here book one of these rooms. The parking was also easy to find and drive to. The room was also very clean, even the outside of the windows which opened in were perfectly clean.
Cons: The parking charge is a lot and if you want a space reserved they charge even more. While it is nice to be able to park right under the hotel we traveled throughout Belgium for over a week and stayed every night at a hotel in a city with parking and this was by far the most expensive.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Had a view of the waterfront.
Cons: Stairs separate the bathroom from the main room. Has a motion sensor for safety but the light is annoying. Covered the sensor and used a pen light.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was great, modern hotel in the historic district and close to everything.
Cons: A tad bit small but a very nice room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Design
Cons: Location

Overview Reviews
Located in Ghent (Ghent City Centre), Chambreplus Kriski is within a 5-minute walk of Gravensteen Castle and Court of Ryhove. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: I stayed in the Congo Room, the decoration was fantastic with an African theme, a nice change from boring hotel rooms The bed was very comfortable and the room was very spacious. I would totally recommend this room
Cons: The ceilings are very thin and hence in the Congo room you hear to people walking in the room above you. There is no breakfast available but there are good choices nearby
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, loved the layout and the snug area upstairs with the Jacuzzi was amazing. The room we had was completely separated from the other rooms at the property which was great.
Cons: There were a few squashed bugs on the walls from previous guests and a dirty coffee mug left out, also there was no soap in the bathroom to wash our hands (we contacted a member of staff and a new soap was brought for us on the second night). We paid for the parking but didn't receive instructions on where it was, we ended up having to contact booking.com on our way to the property to ask them for the details who in turn had to contact a member of staff as the office closed at 5.30.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very central in the busy part of town, but within a beautiful garden courtyard therefore quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful but only indirectly involved with management. Garden with tables and chairs a real asset, making it a unique experience
Cons: The room configuration dictates some difficult corners and steps to negotiate. Therefore it wouldn't be ideal for anyone with reduced agility for any reason. Not well set up as an apartment. There was a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities but no cutlery or plates.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The location is just in the city center, but you need to check the map carefully before you arrive it or you'll miss it. The guesthouse is run by a travel agent office (on the top floor ). This is like a guesthouse without breakfast. You had better check in at their office time (before 17:30) in order to get the tip of opening the front door. :) The room is very neat and comfortable. You can feel that the managers take good care of their rooms and keep them in good condition. Highly recommend!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in the centre. We stayed in the suite with a private patio to sit outside in the garden, also with a jacuzzi and open fire upstairs. It was fantastic!
7,5 Good
Pros: The place is very central and the our room was cozy. The staff who showed us the room was nice.
Cons: The shower had a kind of dirty curtains that i wish i recommend to change with a glass door. Also, the shower did not drain the water properly, which adds up to the dirty curtains you end up showering with.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Location, spacious comfy room
Cons: Car park is a distance away but worked well once we got the location sorted ....
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The comfy beds, block out shutters if wanted. Central location. Easy walk to everywhere. Coffee and tea in room if we wanted. We loved everything about staying here. They were so helpful and accomodating.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Like the architectural use of old space merging with modern conveniences
Cons: Lighting to read in brd
7,5 Good
Pros: Outstanding location in the center of the city
Cons: I missed the refrigerator which was mentioned on the site, either I was not informed about it

Cons: I am not sure if I have anything to say bad about this property
9,3 Excellent
Pros: I had stayed before, so I knew what I was getting. The rooms are light and modern, if a little plain. Nonetheless, it had everything I wanted in most respects. Car parking was relatively cheap by Ghent standards and it was great to have my own numbered parking bay for the duration of my stay. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the historic centre. Breakfast is pleasant and more imaginative than in many European hotels and I will be happy to go back again should I find myself in Ghent. Free wi-fi worked well.
Cons: Unlike some hotels in Belgium which do not provide tea and coffee in the rooms, Aparthotel Castelnou does, though only enough for the first night. Replacements were available for purchase, but it seemed a little parsimonious not to replace them automatically when we were staying for a week.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean apartment type room, lots of space. Good facilities with secure parking. Friendly staff that are very helpful. Great value too.
10,0 Excellent

Pros: Great location, very close to the centre, the house is lovely, our room was massive, clean, and comfortable! Breaskfast was good, host very helpful. Planning a trip back to Ghent and will stay here again!
Cons: Nothing to not like
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and was an easy walk into the centre.
Cons: Car park was a walk away, which meant having to carry baggage. We parked outside when leaving and got looks of distaste from the locals as we were on the pavement. Also I asked for room with balcony. We did have a balcony but it was baracaded off, so we couldn't get out. Also it overlooked everyone else's back yard and huge extractor pipes.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Really unique, smart and exclusive feel to the hotel. Huge room, in a lovely building. Very close to centre, so perfect location as it’s on a quiet street but very close to centre. Good variety at breakfast, set out elegantly.
Cons: Not able to check-in immediately so had to park in main car-park. But once in a very warm welcome and able to park in private car park.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The guest house was like a mansion. Superb appointments. Breakfast was in a formal dining room with a 14 foot ceiling. They provided us with 5 star service.

9,3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location within walking distance of Ghent centre. Hotel staff efficient and friendly. We had a small issue with the room facilities and this was handled well and rectified immediately by the staff. Room was big and airy and we had the use of a fan which helped in the heat. A lift would have been helpful as we had to carry heavy suitcases upstairs ourselves. We enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Lack of lift. Air conditioning would have helped us to cope with the extremely hot weather. The small fan was better than nothing.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The staff, they weren’t nice
Cons: There isn’t air conditioning, they supposedly have AC but it doesn’t work, we couldn’t sleep at night. It is too far from the main attractions, if you want to go to the main plaza, it takes an hour to go back and forth, we were exhausted just after two days
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The Front Desk person was excellent and very helpful in giving recommendations.
Cons: The hallway carpet needs replacing.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location and the layout
Cons: The bathroom could have been a bit more modern
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Clearness and size of the room
Cons: Cooking smell leaked from the restaurant
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property was in an awesome location! The room was cute and comfortable and the staff was nice. The WiFi was good as well.
Cons: There is no lift to get to your room.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. The location is great. The hotel is close to everything.
Cons: The beds were uncomfortable. We didn't sleep well while we were there.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money, staff wanted to help, perfect central location and a fantastic breakfast.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great size room and location was superb , a short and nice walk to everything we needed . Staff very friendly . Little tricky finding it down little side streets but the hotel emailed us a great tip when to re set your navigation for thebest route once in town which was very handy
Cons: No complaints at all really , parking is a little tight but not really a fault , not use to driving down streets with trams behind you but you adapt quickly !!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Location.
Cons: The noise of the doors of other guests and especially the cleaning staff. If the doors are quieter, that would help. They woke us up with taking the loundry. Maybe that room's location is poor.

Pros: The location was great with easy access to trams to get into the centre of the city. Nice comfy bed gave a good night's sleep! The hotel car park was very good and at a reasonable price - remember to reserve a space with your booking!
Cons: Breakfast was ok, but would have liked a wider selection! My room was in a separate building to the reception and breakfast areas and although not a problem for my stay, rain may affect how you arrive at breakfast!

9,5 Excellent
Pros: The host is very friendly and the garden is very beautiful.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location with an enclosed garden for guests' use where dogs were welcome. Large shabby chic room, more of a bedsit with fridge, microwave, coffe maker, table and chairs for eating as well as other comfortable furniture that seemed to have come from someone's very nice home. Bed comfortable, electric mosquito repeller that worked: I could imagine myself spending weeks here writing a book. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Being at the end of a one way street with no shops or restaurants within (my) walking distance meant taking the car to the Greek restaurant on the other side of the river (and roadworks made it a long way round). Quite a long drive from the centre of Ghent but we were back on our route more quickly the next morning.
7,0 Good
Pros: Very comfortable bed, but for us the room was very cluttered. Only a curtain to screen the bathroom and when closed it blocked off a lot of natural light. Our host Carine was really lovely and very obliging, nothing was too much trouble. She was very generous with her suggestions and advice on how to get to places and where the best parking was. A more than ample tasty breakfast provided.
Cons: Less clutter so there was room for suitcases.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. The bed was really comfortable and you really have everything you need in the room. The location is not in the citycenter so maybe not ideal if you travel by public transportation (but it can be done, there are a few busses in the area). In the morning the hostess even gave me a ride to office where i was following a training for work. Super friendly and welcoming hostess! I strongly recommend this B&B.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: After an initial mis communication we found the hostess to be more than helpful and went out of her way to remedy the situation. Gave lots of helpful advice on getting in and out of the city, recommended a place to eat (the Greek Place across the canal) and was very very interested in our travel plans and where we were from.
Cons: The miscommunication

Pros: Breakfast is great, I appreciate it when waking up everyday to freshly baked bread. Off one of the main road, and somewhere in between city center and train station, both within ~20min walking distance.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: We chose this hotel because it had parking. The hotel has everything you need and the bed was comfortable. It is very fit for purpose and the room was clean.
Cons: It is quite expensive for what it is. The fixtures and furnishings were all quite basic and had an ikea feel. That’s fine but for the price it seemed like it could be a bit higher quality. Breakfast was also very expensive and while the food was fine, again nothing special.
6,8 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Some of the staff at front desk were not very attentive . We waited at front desk for someone to appear. When the person came they said I could see you on the camera in the office ???? Who are the paying guests here ???

Pros: Location and staff
Cons: It was quite warm while we were there and the hotel's air conditioning wasn't operating properly.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a superb position for exploring the centre of Gent. It does everything well and provides everything one needs, but it does not have much character.
Cons: I disliked the constant piped “music” even in lifts and corridors.

Pros: Excellent breakfast
Cons: The carpet in the room was very worn
8,0 Excellent
Pros: I love it that it’s really located at the city center of Gent you go out of your hotel and everything nice is near to you all is walking distance and staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons: well there rooms is clean is just outdated and when we want to take a bath there bath water is really brown so it need some time to make it clear.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Nothing specific
Cons: The Gentse feestweek took place. The restaurant and bar where closed and I enjoyed loud dance music until 05:30. None of the above would’ve mattered if they would have had the courtesy to inform me in advance. I was a business traveler and would ‘ve booked a different hotel outside of the city. The hotel did nothing when I mentioned this to two staff members. They didn’t care, two more rooms occupied ey.
6,3 Good
Cons: very surprised that I had to pay 50 euro 'caution' and 5 days later still did NOT get it back! Will definitely follow up closely. Watch Out.
