Best place I've stayed in Ireland!
Luxury, comfort, friendliness, beauty. Just a couple words that come to mind about this majestic place. Best place we stayed during our entire Ireland tour and HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.
The food was very good
silver service and beverages brought to the room. Also the view from our bedroom
A very friendly and helpful staff with very nice facilities and grounds. It had a rich, warm atmosphere.
The Oriental Express restaurant was somewhat overpriced and lacking in quality.
The staff were friendly and very attentive. The food in the Pullman restaurant was lovely and the breakfast was also very nice.
I wouldn't regard this as a 5 star hotel. To be honest I was disappointed when we got to our room. The decor in the room itself was lovely but the bathroom had tiles falling away from the bath and I though it was very basic bathroom you would find in any hotel. There were rips in the sheets on the bed. I just was expecting something extra special as it was our first stay in a 5 star hotel but apart from the attentive staff I found nothing to distinguish it from anywhere I've stayed in before.,
With an exterior that looks a lot like a castle, Glenlo Abbey Hotel gives a great first impression. Once inside, guests will see that the first impression was right. The interior is just as fine as the exterior.
