Gullwing Beach Resort - Fort Myers Beach - Building
2
9,2 Excellent (643 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Don’t judge a book by its cover goes a long way at Gullwing Beach Resort. While the exterior is less than luxurious, the large, condo-style accommodations make it an ideal choice for independent travelers, couples, and families who can do without the extensive amenities of a typical beach resort. GullWing Beach Resort is set in the quiet but convenient southern Estero Island. The immediate neighborhood doesn’t offer a lot, but a 10-minute walk will lead guests to the Santini Marian Plaza Shops, a strip mall with a handful of restaurants, a pharmacy, and a liquor store. A 5-minute drive leads to Lovers Key State Park, while a 10-minute drive takes guests to the bars, shops, and restaurants of Fort Myer’s bustling Times Square. Amenities are not as luxurious as other beach resorts in the area, but direct access to Fort Myers Beach is an enormous draw to the hotel. The outdoor swimming pool is the main hub of activity on the property, along with a separate whirlpool. A snack bar is on-site near the pool offering favorites like popcorn, hot dogs, and smoothies. A small fitness center and tennis court are on-site, as in a 1,000-square-foot meeting room and small business center. The hotel also offers serval services and conveniences for guests. The 66 condo-style units are the main feature of the resort with tons of space, full kitchens, and furnished balconies with great views. There are one, two, and three- bedroom units with wet bars and high-top chairs, seating areas, tables, sleeper sofas, and more. Galley kitchens include ovens, microwaves, toasters, dishwashers, and coffeemakers, plus an array of cookware, silverware, and starter packs of essentials like dish soap. All units have washer and dryers as well.

Pros: Everything was great. The coffee machine that makes a variety of choices should be standard at all decent hotels!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Waterfront, All Rooms have beach view. Great location. Walking distance from the peer and all restaurants.
Cons: No room service for food. Although the chairs and umbrellas on the beach are rented by another company different that the hotel I think the hotel should encourage the rental company to update the wooden chairs that they have to offer. They are really old and very small.

Cons: Hidden costs. 35.00 resort fee. When I checked out. Plus Extra 75.00 above kayak quoted price when paid reservation on the app
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My mother and step father booked a vacation here and we drove down from St Petersburg to see them. We only stayed at the resort for 2 days/1 night. We had a wonderful time and the resort was amazing. The room was clean, comfortable and very inviting. The staff was very friendly, and attentive. I have worked in the hospitality industry as a security manager for several years and I was extremely impressed with the pink shell. I will be returning here for another stay in the future.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at the Pink Shell was top notch. Wonderful staff, great rooms and good value. We have a young family and stayed in the Captiva Villas, perfect set-up. Will be coming back in the future!
7,1 Good
Pros: The location is perfect. It's nice that the umbrellas and chairs are included. The three pools were nice, too, so that families, children, and adults can have their own space. Neil, a security guard there, was extremely personable. They let you stay after check-out to enjoy the amenities which is great! The main lobby is beautiful. I loved the giant checker board and the fact that there was an arcade.
Cons: The room was pretty expensive for what it was. The patio and view was great and the kitchen for extended stays is nice, too. But for a one night stay, it was pretty pricey. Not to mention that there were 3 of us, so we had to pay $17 for one breakfast (which was a great buffet, but our third person should have been included, especially for what we paid for the room). It was a little confusing navigating the 3 different buildings, especially when first arriving and parking. I wish there were some pool toys available, but it seemed like they tried to charge you for everything they could.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved, loved this location. The resort was top notch. I loved the oceanfront villa's. The one we stayed in was 1 bedroom, with full kitchen, washer/dryer. The breakfast buffet at Jack's was including each morning. Wonderful assortment of all breakfast items. Beach chairs and umbrella were definitely a plus! They had activities going on during the day (although we did not partake) we were there just to relax. The walk into the pier and downtown area was not too far. Maybe about 15 minutes on the beach. Beautiful sunsets, great accommodations overall!
Cons: The coffee ~ was a bit bitter tasting. Otherwise top notch!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, location, sun.............
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Paddle boards and kayaks are included. Wristband gets you everything. No need to carry a wallet.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful time as a couple. Our sweet had 2 balconies overlooking the ocean and we enjoyed sitting on our lanai watching the sunset. Service was excellent! We will definitely be coming back with our little ones!
Cons: It took a while to get a hold of someone at the reception desk when we had a question. But that was it.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: We loved the one bedroom villa with the full kitchen and amazing views of the beach and marina. The resort had everything you would want right on property. Loved that you could take the bus/trolley to the downtown area of Ft Myers beach. The bellman were the most helpful and nice guys! Any questions we had they were more than accommodating. We went fishing with Mike and LOVED every minute of it. We did the back bays and it was perfect. The waves are not big in the back bays so you do not need to worry about sea sickness. We also did the dolphin wave runner tour with Garret that was on property. It was one of the best tours we have ever taken. They let you go fast and also bring you right up close to the dolphin and manatees. I would recommend this resort for people traveling with kids.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The staff was the friendliest and most professional across the board.
Cons: Private loud company party at the pool.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everthing about the hotel. was great. i want to take the mattress home with me

Pros: The hotel is away from all the bustle of the "main drag" on Estero Island, and relatively quiet. Clean, comfortable room with a great view of the Gulf. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions I had about good restaurants, etc. Elevator in my building, good since I was on the top floor.

Pros: Large rooms and balconies, separate pools for adults and children. Water sports.
Cons: Pool didn't open until about 9. Far from the action but I appreciated that so no bar noise.

6,8 Good
Pros: My room had a great view, and I was close to the beach. I had lots of room to spread out and even invite friends over.
Cons: The ac in my living room didn't work at all, so that room was very hot. Both ac units were SO noisy! The rooms felt clammy. I wish there had been an onsite place to eat breakfast, but there were places nearby. It's just that the construction made it tough to get to places easily. One of the pools was not available, so we we couldn't find chairs near the operating pool.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very clean, both in looks and smell. The tiled floors made it easy to keep things clean even when there was a lot of traffic in and out of the room. The room was very spacious and had a small kitchen area that was very convenient. The pools were pristine and a nice alternative to the beach. There were ample beach chairs available and clean beach towels were available at the desk without having to "check them out". There was a nice mix of sun and shade available by the pools and where the patio met the beach. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. There were many very nice restaurants and shops within walking distance. Loved it!
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like.
4,2 OK
Cons: I’ve never writen a review, that’s how bad my stay was...for me to take a minute to do this, it was bad! Manager Eric and girls at the front were ridiculous. Never ever will be back.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is the second time we stay at the Neptune and we LOVE it! It's very clean and bright in the rooms. Love having all the amenities of home with the living room and kitchen.. They do such a great job cleaning the place every day. The beach is AMAZING and the pools are too. The Plumeria tree was in bloom...what a bonus! Mmmmmm
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very relaxing stay. Nice Room and service. Employees were very courteous to us. Easy access to beach.
Cons: Just couldn't stay longer.
Lovers Key Resort - Fort Myers Beach - Bedroom
9
8,8 Excellent (340 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Southwest Florida is one of the hidden treasures of the Sunshine State. This area has some of the best beaches in the country and the shells alone that can be found on its shores are unrivaled around the world. For people who enjoy an unspoiled natural setting, visiting the Fort Myers area is a must, and one of the best places to stay is the Lovers Key Resort. This resort has a different flavor than other resorts as it’s a consortium of condominiums owned by different proprietors. You could stay here multiple times and have completely different and wonderful experiences. The buildings tower above the small nearly private islands that dot the coastline between Sanibel and Naples. You can truly get away from everyone and everything here. The reason travelers love the Lovers Key Resort is the natural world. The unspoiled view from your room evokes a different Florida than many are used to. You can snorkel with manatees in the clear water of the warm Gulf of Mexico. The bottom line is you can enjoy the natural world in an unspoiled way here. While there are no dining options at the resort, Southwest Florida has a sneaky good food scene. Fort Myers has some great restaurants, but if you're willing to drive a half-hour south, Naples has some of the best food in all of Florida. The restaurants in Naples are a destination for some of the wealthiest people in the country. When looking to get away from it all and immerse yourself in the natural world, the Lovers Key Resort will do the trick. You can come back time and again, experiencing a different vacation each trip.
8,5 Excellent
Pros: staff was excellent, really helped us out Room was clean and comfortable
Cons: parking was a bit of a problem but being there for a week, we were never without a spot. Ft. Myers beach road Is under construction so any complaints in previous reviews about that have to be taken with a grain of salt. I do agree, pull out couch was awful

2,8 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Was never informed that there was construction going on right next to our room. They claimed they sent an email out to everyone, which I never got, yet I was even there in person a couple weeks prior to our stay to upgrade our room and at that time there was no construction going on and was never told there would be. We have a 3mo. that kept being woken up with all the noise. No cable the fist night. No internet the entire stay until the couple of hours the last day. Was told it was an island wide problem, yet the resort next door had working internet during the time they did not??? The toilet wouldn't flush unless you held the handle down for 30 sec. There were ants all over the kitchen. When I notified the staff about all these issues, rather than providing good customer service I was treated like, "oh well, nothing we can do about it" and got the feeling like I was being treated without respect because I booked through a deal site and not directly as if that didn't make me a true guest. Not once did any of them even apologize for the conditions. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Ever!
9,7 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay, the beach was a short walk from our room. The sunsets were so beautiful!

6,6 Good
Pros: Beach front had pool and restaurant
Cons: The rooms were out dated factily was old
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The beach was absolutely gorgeous and so weren't the facilities. For an old building it has been taken care of wonderfully. The beach, Tiki bar, pool, breakfast buffet all great! No complaints!! Would return without hesitation!
Cons: The only thing I thought was weird is the fact that the toilet paper holder in our room was so low to the floor that the paper hung on the floor, but for an older building that's not too bad.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place all a round!
7,7 Good
Pros: The room and the staff.
Cons: Construction late morning after arrival in hallways. It was very loud and no warning.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Nice weather and location
Cons: The ice machines location
4,8 OK
Pros: I liked that it was on the beach. Employees in the office, bar and restaurant were friendly and efficient. Always found a parking spot. Short walk to movie theater and 7 Eleven.
Cons: The free WiFi was worthless. Stayed in standard room. Carpets looked terribly dirty. No headboards on beds. Dirt and food crumbs under furniture. Very dusty on shelf and top of tv stand. Small tv. No microwave in standard rooms. People blowing tobacco smoke in your face in tiki bar. Heated pool was very cold. Weather was bad when I was there so I spent more time in the room than I normally would. So, I might be pickier than normal.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The proximity to the beach Staff is pleasant Tiki Bar
Cons: No music after 8pm on Friday night or after 5pm on Saturday Outrigger really needs a bigger pool or a second one

Cons: We passed 4 or 5 times to find the hotel, it was difficult to spot it. They told us that they were not allowed to put a sign on the road. AC was right beside the bed and it was very noisy. No fan in a bathroom which was unusual in a hotel.
4,8 OK
Pros: Breakfast was good, staff polite
Cons: Room was very hot. Very uncomfortable entire time.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I were in the area for the weekend. Good location for us. Also liked that there was a free breakfast and Wi-fi. We'd stay again.
Cons: We requested a quiet room. We didn't exactly get one. They put us at the end of a hall where there is door to the outside. It banged until quite late with guests going in and out. Thank God for earplugs!

Pros: Was right on the beach which was very nice. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They allowed us to use their facilities even after check out. It was nice to have the full kitchen to cook. The bed was very comfortable. They also allow you to use the grill if you want to grill out while staying there.
Cons: It was a bit of a distance from everything like the bars and places to eat and such. The towels were filthy along with the cooking utensils they leave for you were disgusting. But overall I would definitely recommend this place. There were more pluses then negatives.
7,7 Good
Pros: nice beach in front of hotel, big rooms with lots of space.
Cons: carpet was not very clean, but that is probably due to people bringing in sand and water. Tile floors might be better.

6,0 Good
Pros: The dock on a small bay with tiki hut roofs and tables was fantastic to sit in the evenings. Couple blocks from the beach and many restaurants in the area make this a good location.
Cons: This is obviously a motel from the 50s or 60s but we'll maintained and clean. Room was just right but it had TWO beds which made it crowded. Maybe I'm living too much in the past, but IMHO, way over priced, but is comparable with other properties in the area.
The Lighthouse Resort Inn & Suites - Fort Myers Beach - Building

Overview Reviews
The Lighthouse Resort Inn Suites is located in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. The pet-friendly hotel is based in the Times Square entertainment district in the city, and within walking distance of the Gulf of Mexico. The guest rooms feature eight different variations from standard rooms to different kinds of suites and kitchenettes. All of the rooms are spacious and can accommodate at least two or four guests. The suites are all expanded and some even provide full kitchens with a refrigerator, microwave, stove burners, sink and food pantry. The Lighthouse Resort Inn Suites houses two dining varieties: Yucatan Beach Stand and the Tiki Bar and Grill. Ask any local and most are aware of the tiki bar which is considered one of the most hopping places on any given night in Fort Myers. Both restaurants serve daily meals as well as beers and cocktails. Since the hotel is in the heart of the city, there are several events happening on a weekly basis. Weddings are also hosted at the hotel and can take place directly on the private beach. Along with the beach, it also features two heated pools for guests and plenty of other amenities. The on-site laundry service can bode well with the kitchenette for long-term vacations or business trips, or for those that just want to save a little money and make meals from scratch. High speed internet is featured in every room and many recreational opportunities exist on your near the hotel, including boat rentals.
4,5 OK
Pros: The location is great and you really couldn't beat the very cheap price.
Cons: The room was so-so in terms of cleanliness--little things like the old coffee not having been cleaned out of the pot. Actually, the entire stay could have been much more pleasant if the hotel would have met even one of our requests--little things, like checking in at 2:30 instead of 3 or meeting our request for 2 beds or a king (we ended up with a queen). We were also immediately next to the bar, which made it quite loud.

Pros: Everything was right there
Cons: Parking
8,2 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, very convenient for restaurants, bars, gift stores and the beach (or bay). Our room was clean, and the staff was friendly. We ate at the resort a couple of times, and the food was good. The breakfast burrito was excellent, and I appreciate how the chef/cook presented it. If it would have been served with fresh pico and guacamole instead of store bought salsa, I'd have been comfortable paying $2+ more for it (and it would have been a better overall experience). The room was very small, which should be noted, but that was completely fine with us. If you plan to hang out in your room, you may see if they have a bigger space available, as the only seating is the bed and two rather uncomfortable bar stools. The grounds are absolutely stunning, with more plant-life than you can even take in. We kept getting turned around/lost in the resort, because it was so densely landscaped and beautiful.
Cons: When we pulled up the woman working the counter was smoking on the front step and hanging out with her family. It was Father's day, so I get it, but it's still not professional (she was very nice and attentive when we walked up). The Tiki Bar is a cool concept, and we've actually been going there for years. It feels a bit run-down and dirty. There are WAY too many TV's in it, which detract from what a Tiki Bar is IMO. The TV's also had little dirty signs on them that said "NFL Game"....it was June. These signs looked like they were supposed to be changed daily/hourly depending on what was actually on said TV, but they had obviously not been changed in some time. I'm assuming they have gone after the sports bar angle to attract more business during football season, but it sure takes away from the tropical feel.

Pros: Location
Cons: Smoking in the only bar/restaurant
4,8 OK
Pros: Tiki bar and swimming pools
Cons: We had a two bedroom suite that was facing the tiki bar. Unfortunately for us, they stay open until 2 AM which made sleep difficult and there was a rowdy crowd nearby that was very noisy outside our room. I would not recommend this place unless you're looking to party all night. Perhaps if we had been in a different area things would have better.

Pros: The complete staff was pleasant to talk to from property worker to the maids. and had great time talking with the bar staff Rodney, Shelly, Pam, and Dave love all them planning on returning next year and hope I can talk my staff to join me. Thank you for a great week
5,1 OK
Pros: Close to everything
Cons: Mattresses infested with bugs. Was told they were termites and no other rooms were available. After sleeping 2 nights in that room we have bites all over us. Manager gave us a $25 gift card for my children and I to use at the tiki bar. Finally moved to an upgraded room and only comped for one night. The upgraded room had roaches. This is also not a very family oriented hotel. The locals like to hang out at this tiki bar. Very loud all day and all night. Hotel staff also leaves every night at 11pm.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice old Florida atmosphere with a great tiki bar. The rooms were large and the king bed was very comfortable. The furniture a bit dated but nice, clean and neat. On May 17th, a not so well-traveled person, said the price was too high for off season. We stayed there the evening of June 23 and I thought the price was very reasonable for this type of property and the location.

Pros: The Light House is prime spot to Everything. Walking distance to everything that you need to get to. Would Highly recommend, Good Fun People all around!!!
Cons: That I had to leave.

Pros: We enjoyed walking along the sandy beach,Then relaxing for a meal at the tiki. The next morning we enjoyed a great breakfast in the restaurant. The pool was fun, also enjoyed the exercise room.
Cons: rained while we were down there in florida, not the wyndham's fault, We enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham. although they were doing some kind of construction at the hotel, they were all very nice.
5,7 OK
Pros: proximity to the beach Inside the room was fine.
Cons: Look of the building -- it looks old and not different than any cheap motel. Front desk attendant - Not friendly, not welcoming. Beach front - there was stagnant water between hotel and the beach, which produced a very bad odour.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: We will be back! Love the location and convenience.
Cons: Service at the restaurant can and should be improved.
8,5 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is an older three story rooms around a pool design. It is about six miles south of the entrance to Ft. Myers Beach. This keeps you away from busiest part of Fort Myers Beach and close to southern attractions including Lovers Key State Park. This hotel includes a Pinchers Crab Shack with both indoor seating and a very nice open-air Tiki Bar right by the pool.
Cons: The draft beer selection in the Tiki Bar was very limited and during my stay only included two choices: Yuengling and Miller Lite. A broader variety and draft craft beer choices would add to the attraction.
6,5 Good
Pros: The bed was great. Rooms were clean and comfy.
Cons: Rooms were small. I wanted to upgrade to a beach front, but realized the water is really about a three block walk from the back of the hotel. Pincher's food mediocre. The bucket drinks were terrible. Too sweet. Looks like a lot of locals hang out in the Tiki Bar. Lots of other better hotels.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The king sized bed was very comfortable and it was a short walk to the beach. The tiki bar was convenient too.
Cons: The door handle was loose and so was a screw on the lock.

Pros: Liked the Tiki Bar atmosphere!
Cons: The rooms are really loud. Not very quiet.

Pros: This was exactly what we were looking for...a larger than expected room (2 Double Beds), large balcony overlooking a HUGE, white sand beach, BIG TV, tile floor, sparkling clean pool with plenty of chairs & tables to accommodate everyone, immaculate grounds, wonderful staff that would go out of their way to make your stay better, live music nightly during happy hour, great food & drinks at Pinchers, location was excellent with a CVS across the street and a 7-11 two doors down, restaurants within a 5 minute stroll, picture perfect sunsets, clean beach. This "gem" of a property is located between the high rise condos and truly felt cozy and accommodating to my family. We will definitely be coming back

Pros: Location and beach
Cons: Palmetto bugs were able to come right in with gap in the door.

Pros: Location and amenities
4,0 OK
Pros: Not much
Cons: We got stuck in a poolside/barside room with a band that had a sound system that was more appropriate for Yankee Stadium. We were told that they would quit by 8:00 PM. The desk clerk who tod us this lied - the band finally stopped a bit after 9:00, and only then because it started to rain on them. It was deafening inside our room, which we had booked for one night to celebrate our 44th anniversary. We would never go there again.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: Food was very good. Room was nice - nothing too fancy, but well kept.
