Pros: The service, smell of the resort and the cleanliness
Cons: The resort fee didn't include spa admission.
10,0 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed my stay with my wife at Park Hyatt Aviara. Jenny Jang is at the reception was kind and very friendly, she was very accommodating and caring to our concerns. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Carlsbad, CA. I had a wonderful experience staying for one night at this hotel. Again, I really appreciate it!
Cons: Nothing.
2,5 Mediocre
Cons: Vastly overpriced!
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Cost of Golf for guests is too high.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds of this Hyatt are absolutely beautiful and so are the rooms.
Cons: I thought $40 for valet parking was a bit steep but I didn't choose this hotel because I thought it was looking for bargain basement prices.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Room appointments. on Excellent view from room! Friendly, helpful service. Balcony
Cons: Guitarist was was mediocre. No Dodgers on TV.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved hanging out by the pool with my son, dining at the lobby lounge was easy, tasty and still very charming. Room was great , comfy bed!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was arguably one of the very best hotel experiences ever - after years of global travel on business and for leisure. The property is beautiful. Our suite was beautiful. Every member of staff was courteous, genuinely warm in their engagement with us and obviously well-trained. Service at every level was superb. It was expensive but worth it and it made our 13 nights memorable in a good way, standing out as the best of all hotels in our 5 week trip to California.
Cons: There was nothing to not like other than some of the expense for golf but then again it does not disguise its top of the market positioning
6,7 Good
Pros: If you value customer service- Staff will treat you like a king/queen. Three people to open the doors. Useless in my opinion. Beverage (water/coffee) offered anytime. They had live music some nights. Pianist and a guitar singer. Great fitness center and it’s open 24hours. Wish the swimming pool were open later/earlier. Wasn’t able to enjoy it. Fluffly blankets and great mattress. Pillows could be better.
Cons: I had requested a fridge be placed in our room a couple weeks before our weekend. The fridge wasn’t there when we checked in. However, they did put one in later that day when i mentioned it. Also, they mentioned they do a little extra for birthday celebrations. But didn’t see anything in the room. I didn’t bother ask. I was just annoyed at this point. I didn’t like their mandatory valet parking system. The wait would be unecessarily longer than it should be. And they favor the luxury cars first. A mandatory fee was added per night. For the price, i would expect free parking or self parking available at least. And shuttle service should be expanded to the beach at least, not just the outlet.

Cons: Needed more fresh options at breakfast, everything was a bit processed with only a small bowl of fresh fruit. The breakfast can also get crowded. Pros: Best is the location. We got a room with oceanview and it was worth every penny. Also loved (and will miss) the morning walks along the beach. We discovered a new favorite oatmeal brand at breakfast. Service (desk, housecleaning, etc) was excellent!
Cons: It was a hot day the day and our room had the A/C off when we first arrived. It took 4 hours before the room was able to cool down. It would be nice if they had the A/C running even at higher temps. Otherwise, we loved it.

The hotel has towels, chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards so we were all set for our sand time. The location is very close to the town and countless restaurants and shops. Very easy place to stay and to be comfortable. We were able to get breakfast on site each morning and it was a nice selection.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Lots gtreat spot.
Cons: Would not use sofa bed . Mattress was disgusting
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The kitchen and being so close to the beach
7,9 Good
Pros: Excellent location in Carlsbad...walk to the beach, shops, restaurants, etc. We stayed in the Deluxe Room, with a view of the small parking lot. It wasn't as nice as I had hoped based on pictures and reviews. In walking around the property, it seemed like the larger rooms/suites had all been updated and were positioned on better parts of the property. I'd come again, but stay in one of those. There are only a handful of parking spots dedicated to the hotel, but we were able to find one on the street fairly easily. The pool is small but nice. The fire pits are a nice touch. I'd stay again, but not for the price I paid, and not in a standard room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about Ocean Palms! The location was amazing and the room and grounds were beautifully maintained. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We loved borrowing beach equipment from the front desk and sitting by the fire pits at night. Our room was the deluxe studio, which wasn’t very large, but it had a very functional kitchen and a bathroom perfect for coming back from the beach. Downtown location is great, in walking distance of the beach, restaurants and small grocery store.
Cons: You can’t actually see the water from the majority of the rooms but for the price and the fact that you are literally 20 feet away from the beach entrance we didn’t care.
6,7 Good
Pros: People in the town
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, super close to the beach and shops/restaurants. Very family friendly, clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful, gave great recommendations. Would definitely stay here again!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great service by the staff. We had a small child above us that was training for a marathon. We spoke to the manager twice at the front office who told us they would call the party above us and handle this. After the second time of talking to the manager they actually called us (we were out for breakfast) and said that another 2 bedroom room had become available. I had to pay additional money to upgrade, but the kids loved it. Bigger bathroom, living room and kitchen. The highlight was the hot tub on the porch. Stayed 6 nights and the last 3 were the best!
Cons: The noise above if you are on the first floor. We understand families are vacationing and have small kids. However, I was strict with my girls and made sure they were never running or jumping if someone was below us. Now they understand why!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The front desk personnel was exceptional in being helpful about the resort! She was willing to make sure our "stay" at Ocean Palms Resort was really nice. The rooms are bright and cheery and very clean! The grounds are beautiful! We will return!
6,0 Good
Pros: Location to beach and restaurants.
Cons: Said it included breakfast but actually not a breakfast.

6,3 Good
Pros: Accessible to Legoland and Seaworld
Cons: Far stretch from downtown
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. A few mins from Legoland and conveniently located to beaches, malls, and stores. The room was big and I loved that the bedroom had a ceiling fan. The living room was big enough to fit a large dog kennel comfortably. The breakfast was great, had many choices and the fruit was great and fresh. They have a grassy area to take your pets out. Friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are friendly and super helpful. My family and I loved staying here. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. When I am in town again I would definitely pick this hotel.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location to Legoland, breakfast. Service pool
Cons: No room safe
8,5 Excellent
Pros: Good location, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are spacious and clean. The free breakfast was very good.
Cons: Since there isn’t a full service restaurant, there aren’t any restaurants close by (if you are new to the area). It’s really just located around other hotels. There are no facilities for charging an electric vehicle. There is an outdoor outlet, but it’s located right next to a handicapped parking space. That’s a deal-breaker for us, so we won’t stay there again. There are hotels nearby that do have those stations so they really need to upgrade.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice
Cons: Not on beach
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Girls at front desk were amazing. Rooms were nice sized and clean.
Cons: Parking lot being resurfaced which made parking hard.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The location is good for families going to Legoland.
Cons: The room we reserved wasn't ready at 4pm when we arrived, but not until well after 5:30pm and then shortly before 7pm the power went out for 5 1/2 hours! The front half of the parking lot was blocked off for repair. Parking was limited in the back and we had to walk far to get to our room. Dinner is only provided Monday to Thursday, so if you stay over a weekend there's no food in evenings.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Totally comfortable, great breakfast, check-out time noon, two TVs.
Cons: If I could have opened windows for fresh air.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We’ve been here before and loved the apartment like feel and free breakfast. Also the Hilton bag with snacks and water, nice touch
Cons: We’ve been to this hotel before, although he paid twice as much because it was comicon weekend… Even though we weren’t going to, con

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing. Loved they provided beach towels and had lot of events. Great for kids.
Cons: We had a door which connected to another room and the sound really traveled to our room.
7,5 Good
Pros: Property
10,0 Excellent
Pros: OKAY
Cons: Fruit was excellent - pastries were tough not flakey - you need to serve breakfast daily with a larger selection for those who are hotel guests.
7,9 Good
Pros: Excellent location across the street from the beach and walking distance to many shops and restaurants. No smoking anywhere inside or outside. They provided beach towels and had a small fridge in the room. The body and hair products weren't overly smelly, which was awesome. The bed was comfortable. The grounds were nice with lots of attractive shrubs and flowers.
Cons: Pretty noisy. Our room faced the street which was noisy, but even when we sat outside in the back, people were quite noisy. The hall noise was loud also, as there was a gap under the door, and we could hear everything going on in the hall - full-blown conversations. It was kind of uncomfortable. We always travel with earplugs for sleeping and definitely needed them!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the beach restaurants and shipping.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: room accommodations, suite offers space and in room cooking
Cons: nearby construction did not allow us to have patio door open while in unit, very noisey and disappointing! on going property construction into 2021, limits our next thoughts of another stay "no pool and not to mention construction noise".
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, quiet rooms, location and the housekeeping staff.
Cons: I understand that front desk employee's should be professional but friendly and kind smiles would help.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location at beach and Carlsbad as a very nice place
Cons: Tiny pool
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location, (walk to everything) walk to beach, clean. Staff is wonderful. Daily activities (bingo, massage, ceramics, yoga, etc.)
Cons: The only thing is the construction. Jackhammers at 9am! We were warned; I just thought my family would be up by then, and they weren't. But it is necessary, and is being done well; this is a timeshare condo resort (mostly, except for the "hotel" rooms) and the construction is repair/upgrading the resort.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location in the middle of Carlsbad is perfect.
Cons: I would have liked a room with a balcony.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Price too much. No microwave no continental breakfast, not real clean, front desk iffy, sliding door lock was some funky added on lock because the door lock was broken

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The service the location
Cons: I didn't like that kids were horsing around in the hot tub.
8,5 Excellent
Cons: The property overall is quite noisy from the inside guest traffic not outside street traffic. Whenever closeby guests move around, take showers or walk outside the rooms, we heard pretty much everything. It seems the property us quite old and does not have guest noise cancellation of any form. Thank you.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location across the street from the beach, near Carlsbad Village, and Legoland was great. Nice size rooms. The Rec room, in-room DVD players, and DVD library are great for families. Free parking, wifi, and breakfast.
Cons: Tub and shower tile a little dated. The beds and bedding were not as comfortable as other hotels.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The parking is very easy. The underground garage has locked gate and plenty of spaces. Right across the street from the ocean. Sunsets are beautiful. Has everything you will need for a great trip.
Cons: It was all perfect.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much everything
Cons: Breakfast could have had more options
7,9 Good
Cons: The air conditioner is pre set to only go to 70 degrees. Also when the ac runs it blows directly onto the beds, making it very cold and uncomfortable for the five minutes it is on. If there is was a way to direct the vent away from the head of the beds I couldn’t find it
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Really nice view and location. Also very clean.
Cons: For the price I paid I was really hoping better on the complementary breakfast

Pros: Beautiful property, very well kept. Amazing landscaping. Raj at the front desk was great.
Cons: Food very expensive for the quality it had. Food was ok yet very pricey. Nothing special. Waiter in the restaurant was not good, not attentive, we had to always look for him, he seemed annoyed by our questions. Forgot his name but I know he was Mexican as we asked him where he was from. We just wanted to look around at the Edge pool with our baby and got kicked out immediately, they did not even let us look around

Pros: The pool area and various hot tubs were great. My kids did not come with, but looked like they had a great setup for the kids. I did not get a chance to golf, but having the golf course on site is awesome.
Cons: The facility was a bit spread out, so getting to the various places, especially with luggage, was a bit complex at times. Would have been nice to have been located a bit closer to our conference. Also would have been nice if the resort had a shuttle or two that went to downtown Carlsbad or the Ocean, etc.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The spa the view the room. It was a grear stay.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location and several pools were a plus!
4,0 Okay
Pros: The pools, staff, and evening band were excellent.
Cons: The toilet was leaking. I called earlier about toilet issues and they sent somebody up to fix it. Later in the evening I noticed that it was leaking because my pants were wet.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Next time we pay that amount for a hotel room we would hope it not look and feel like a guest room in grandmothers home. Rooms are dated in furnishing, appearance, etc. they have used the old Spanish look as a crutch to not renovate and freshen up the facilities. Our stay at the Avirara was much more enjoyable And the accommodations and staff were exquisite. We will definitely stay there next time. The Omni was an “Omni” level disappointment.
Cons: Rooms needing update Spa staff was unwilling to allow for a day pass used on a Sunday even though my wife was going to get a massage and I was just going to use the Facilities. Bathroom shower grout Appeared visibly dirty. The bathroom had a musty smell about it as well.
6,5 Good
Pros: beautiful grounds, amazing amenities, gym is 1000x better than the photos show.
Cons: my impression is that it isn't worth it unless you are staying in the top-tier room. Ours was a standard room... long, far walk from all amenities and parking, basic room features that could use updating, weird bathroom/toilet/shower setup doesn't give any privacy, and TV was not operable 2 or the 3 nights we were there.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was great, food was great, golf course was in wonderful shape, staff there was great too.
Cons: Our room, 802, smelled musty. We had to continuously sign back on to the free internet and sometimes it would take a half dozen attempts.

Overview Reviews
Located in San Marcos, Lakehouse Hotel and Resort is on a lake, within a 15-minute drive of California State University San Marcos and California Center For The Arts. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: The lake was pretty
Cons: Pool hours (9 am to 9 pm) were not convenient. There were no tables anywhere on the property to play cards or board games except for the pool area which was always locked in the early morning.
6,7 Good
Pros: It was quiet and peaceful.
Cons: There was no mini bar but they imposed $100 hold on the credit card after paying for the room. Strange practice. The lighting in my room wasn’t great. And some of the decor looks worn even after taking into account that they were trying to achieve that beach house aesthetic.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cute quiet area in the middle of town. Amazing staff
5,4 Okay
Pros: The concept of the hotel was very cute. The lake was pretty
Cons: Check in was a disaster. The staff did not seem interested or engaging at all. The messed up my sisters registration by charging her card with my room. The girl needed assistance with voiding the transaction and re-running my sisters card on the correct room, which took approx. 30 minutes to do. My other sister was checked into a storage closet room for some unbelievable reason. When I checked in after my two sisters they could not reprint the reservation summary that you sign for incidentals, etc. so I did not sign anything. when I did get my room I had to ask for my room keys and if there was anything they needed to tell me about check in and check out, Wifi, etc.. The customer service just was not there in my opinion. Once in the room there was a musty smell that we could not get past. The carpet was dirty and had spots on it. The bed was comfortable and the shower was clean, which is a huge win. I was there with 5 others and wanted to play a board game outside by the pool in the morning at around 7am. Unfortunately, the pool area is closed and did not open until 9am. We walked the grounds to try to find a table outside that we could sit at and play a game while drinking our morning coffee but this was impossible to find. We got home from the beach and dinner and went to go to the pool area to swim as we saw several people swimming. We found a table and started to get in the pool but were told that we had to leave because the pool was closed at 9am. Again the pool was closed! Very disappointed in the hours of the pool especially because it is summer in California. The pool area was trashed by partiers from the day and there were chairs that were flipped over and tons of trash around. We sat in the pool area for about 15 minutes prior to being told that it was closed and did not see anyone from the hotel straightening up the area. This property has potential but has missed out on the little items that make a property wonderful.
7,5 Good
Pros: Location , views, activities
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful resort. Clean and available parking. Safe environment, I slept very well no early noise even though lake was outside my balcony.
Cons: Not enough washcloths there was one washcloth, very minor but annoying to a mother whose kid used the one washcloth in bathroom.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We were visiting family who live nearby so the location was excellent. The two pools were great! Staff were very nice and took care of any issues that arose. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom showers are great
Cons: We had to move our room twice the first night we arrived due to a small bug issue. The housekeeping staff did not adequately clean our bathroom or replace some towels a few times but it was nothing serious. The pool can get very busy, especially on the weekend and towels can be scarce. That being said, I would definitely stay here again
7,9 Good
Pros: off the beaten path but close enough to drive, had a nice gym to workout, nice decor (thanks Carrie P!), felt like i was on vacation--relaxed setting. Personnel at checkout was pleasant. decor of hotel was great and modern. sheets on bed were comfy.
Cons: check-in time is late, check-out time is too early, nachos at the downstairs bar were the worst nachos i have ever had-they took it off my bill as I couldn't eat it--the cheese tasted awful, bartenders were very nice and beer selection was wonderful. there was a wet spot on carpet outside of our bathroom which was gruesome--wore our shoes to avoid stepping on the wet spot. It didn't smell so that was a good thing.
2,9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Moldy carpet, mildew scent with staff not accommodating to your allergies of mildew/mold. I had to threaten the front desk clerk with my health concern to get another room. The worst part, I paid over $300/one night, while Groupon offered half price. Front desk said “we’re sorry “
7,5 Good
Pros: Nice pools, lake and restaurant
Cons: Dated building, rooms and bed. Only one elevator in different building
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great place for kids
Cons: Room service is poor
1,0 Poor
Pros: I liked the location ok. It was quiet and relaxing area
Cons: Our room was completely differnt than what we booked. Instead of a king bed, there were two full size beds. And instead of a lake view, we got a view of their parking lot. They refused to provide compensatio for there mistake. The Manager was very rude.

8,8 Excellent
Cons: The hotel was with no electricity for about 6 hrs our last day there. DARK !! I was expecting management to give an incentive to everyone! At least a discount to come back in the future! That disappointed me.!
7,1 Good
Pros: Rooms were fine. Food was good
Cons: Chairs in dining area need recovering, hair dryers need updating...one speed too hot! Paint, on bathroom door, room 332,was peeling off.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: Room was incredibly small, location was not ideal, pool was gross
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, friendly staff. A great place to stay after a long day at Legoland.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The employees were awesome, especially the gentleman that checked me in. He was awesome. Food was good and the kitchen area was smaller than other Hamptons but well stocked. Kitchen staff was very helpful. We used the pool and jacuzzi every night and the kids loved it. The hot tub was refreshing after a long day at Legoland. We would definitely stay again.
Cons: The view over the storage facility wasn't great. Parking was limited and one night I had to park at the hotel next door and walk a ways to get to the Hampton.
7,5 Good
Pros: Great staff
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful with directions for shopping. Several options for breakfast.
Cons: The hotel is situated next to another hotel so, the parking is limited and we were not able to park in the same lot as our hotel for both nights of our stay. The hotel was fully booked so the breakfast area was very busy - limited seating.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: There is daily complementary breakfast and there are great choices. Not the typical continental. It wasn't great.
Cons: During reservations, I asked for two king beds, which they do not have.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff, room and breakfast was amazing.
Cons: Our view of the storage facility
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great room for the value
Cons: This had nothing to do with the hotel. We got guest with kids on the upper level that were jumping, stomping, running, slamming doors and screaming at early time. But since we had to get up early and leave I didn't notify the front desk
6,3 Good
Pros: Liked the pool and work out room.
Cons: Was hoping for a little more variety at breakfast.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Prompt service. I had an issue with the toilets and night perfume quickly. I needed a rollaway bed was delivered immediately.
Cons: It was nothing I didn't like. Touching was tight but you can't help that when you're trying to get guest in all in the same area adjacent to another hotel. If anything, I think the breakfast buffet wasn't plentiful. I generally stay at Hampton in other areas and I noticed the breakfast can either I have a large variety or Nothing at All. Still thankful for breakfast.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The great location and ocean view
Cons: Breakfast starting earlier.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location. Beautiful remodeled breakfast area and loved the rocking chairs looking towards the ocean
Cons: You can’t lay out by the pool. There isn’t enough room between the pool and wall. Spa is very small, 4 people max, 6 if you want to get friendly
6,7 Good
Pros: The "old" staff.
Cons: Partly the new staff.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and good breakfast
10,0 Excellent
Pros: You are literally right across the street from a great beach! We could walk down and swim and play for a few hours, go back and do other things, then head down again if we wanted! Amazing views! We saw dolphins (or porpoises?) while eating breakfast!
Cons: This is not a big deal . . . they only had pre-packaged breakfast foods, but that was because they were remodeling their kitchen and they posted a notice about it, so by the time someone else goes, the breakfast will probably be even better than it was!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location of motel was excellent. Walk to the beach. Breakfast buffet every morning that was great and different items to choose from. Safe area and everything from beach, restaurants and more all within walking distance.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Super comfy bed. Clean room. Great staff! Perfect location
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view & so close to the beach.
5,4 Okay
Pros: There are good points for this hotel and negative too. The location was great, just had to cross the street to go to the beach, and an easy walk to town. Breakfast was good and loved eating outside looking at the ocean. Front office staff was very helpful. You also get to borrow beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards, that was a big hit for me.
Cons: The king room with the sofa bed was dark, it was like being in a cave. They had an extra small room with a closet and dresser that was a waste of space( better use would be to put a twin bed in there or bunk beds). The sofa bed was terrible!! The room just needs to be updated. The rooms weren't cleaned until 5pm each day, we usually had to find someone and then wait for the room to be cleaned. The pool is small and has no room to sit around it . The kids still enjoyed playing in it.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: LOCATION
Cons: Lighting, low quality coffee maker and coffee.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Very dated...
7,1 Good
Pros: The location is great and the staff were friendly. The room was clean.
Cons: the bed was not comfortable and the air conditioner sounded like a jet engine. It was so loud I had to turn it off in order to sleep.

8,8 Excellent
Cons: USB ports would have been nice
2,5 Mediocre
Pros: The hotel room had fleas and was not clean. Staff we’re terrible Would never go back to the hotel.
Cons: Dirty room Fleas inside the room Bathroom was substandard Staff were not kind and not helpful
7,1 Good
Pros: The hotel was easy to find and the room was quite large. The breakfast was excellent for the money (free). The bed was very comfortable, except for the unusual, small, brick-like pillows.
Cons: I asked for a quiet room, but my room faced the freeway and the tire noise was constant all night. Next time I would select a hotel further from the highway and/or a room facing away from the highway. In spite of the fact the hotel seemed almost deserted, we had noisy neighbors who woke us up from time to time (on a Sunday night!). The room decor, especially in bathroom, exhibited high quality materials, but a poor and dated selection of colors and patterns. Clean, but somewhat depressing. Example: granite counter tops in a pattern that looked like mold on mirror-smooth concrete.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was easy to get to and the salt water pool was an added plus.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for our needs
Cons: No, not really
5,0 Okay
Pros: It was spacious
Cons: Room wasn’t enough clean including the bed ( it had popcorn between the bed sheeting) and the shower towels had lots of long hair.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and price. The room was big and clean. It was nice to have breakfast at the hotel.
Cons: Everything was fine.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast very good, would like better brewed coffee, although it was somewhat adequate. Ice machine, vending machines to far.
Cons: See previous entry.
6,3 Good
Pros: Room furniture is old. Carpets are horrible color. Brown and orange everywhere.
Cons: Elevator is old and needs to be updated. You can hear neighbors and hallways smell like hot dogs.
7,5 Good
Cons: Eggs were horrible
5,4 Okay
Pros: Na
Cons: The room was not cleaned on one of the 3 nights we stayed there. The said either the do not disturb sign was up or we were in the room. Neither was true. The front desk did not seem surprised this happened - so this is not the first time. My guess is they were short staffed & the cleaner skipped my room.
7,0 Good
Pros: Clean, large room

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean everyone was very nice and friendly to me and my family
Cons: Nothing at all everything was perfect..... But for breakfast a lot of people don't eat pork which is me we would love if you would have Turkey or beef sausage for those who don't eat pork
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The decor of the rooms is contemporary and useful, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The free buffet breakfast was consistently good and plentiful.
Cons: One the surface the rooms seemed clean. But some of the kitchen dishes and utensils were dirty, Under the tables and inside drawers where I put my clothes were dusty. The room needed a deep cleaning, perhaps the housekeeper had a bad day that day.
6,7 Good
Pros: Love the flexibility of TV which can be turned to different direction. Also, lots of programs that available includes Netflix. Bed is super comfy and room are extremely spacious . The hot temperature Jacuzzi is an added value for the winter time
Cons: Repeated breakfast and the variety is too small. If there is any free shuttle to town would be good.
7,1 Good
Pros: Queen bed was very confortable. Prompt service when I requested extra blanket and sheets. Friendly staff.
Cons: The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The refrigerator in the room made a lot of noise. We thought someone was trying to get into the room. kept us up at night. Had to disconnect

Pros: Everything else. I didn't get to use the pool but when I checked in they said it was heated to 82 degrees and hot tub to 102 degrees.
Cons: The seating area for breakfast was small. There was outside seating but it rained the night before so it was all wet. Far from stores.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The property was ok but the room was great. We got a two bedroom suite and had so much space.
Cons: For the cost (over $400 a night) we would have liked a balcony.

Cons: That check in isn't until after 3 PM.. I'd prefer a 2pm check in..
7,5 Good
Pros: that there was no riffraff hanging out !!
Cons: That after the first day I noticed there was a AAA sponsor I presented my car the next day however they did not apply the discount.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money. Very nice bathroom which looked to be recently renovated.
Cons: Breakfast area is small with only basic food options.
7,5 Good
Cons: Would have preferred a hottub
6,7 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable. The decor was quirky. the room was clean
Cons: They have carpet and use a deodorizer on it and it itched my nose. it was hard to get from the car into the room as the parking is on a hill and there it 2 steps to get to the room. There needed to be more light in the room. I didn' get to try the breakfast as I was enable to walk down the hill. It was to steep and there was no parking where breakfast was served. I got lost when I left the hotel. It is out of the way.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet and serene. Bed was very comfortable. Very clean!!
Cons: I liked everything
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Don’t get fooled by their high rating. This place use to be nice. Nothing-after 1 night checked out and found another hotel.
Cons: Run down, worn, dirty feel, just really gross. Stayed many times before but hadn’t been for over a year. I was shocked when I checked into my room. I asked for another room and it wasn’t much better but I smelled like a Miley type of smell and woke up shaking because I had breathed that smell in all night. I have a heightened sense of smell and can pick them up when some others might not. There is such a unfriendly man that works there a lot. He has been there for quite some time and he is awful and should never represent any business. The lady who manages the hotel is so nice though and have wondered why she has him there. He seems not to like people or he hates his job or both? I will never be back!!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: the cleanliness
Cons: no spa
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The bed and pillows are comfortable. The shower is hot and the rooms are clean. The tv is new and as always the toilet paper is soft.
Cons: That I was there for work and not a vacation.
1,0 Poor
Pros: Strong air conditioning; wasn't disturbed by housekeeping
Cons: Curt staff, except younger woman working the night shift was great. First sent us to a room upstairs that we carried our luggage up to, only to see that it was uncleaned/bed unmade, second room we were sent to was still dirty and had blood on the pillow.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Clean room and good housecleaning service
Cons: No complaints
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and quiet and very good value for the money. It's on the very southern edge of Escondido, so no homeless people to contend with. But that location means you have to drive to everything, but everything you need is just 3 blocks away. Free breakfast.
Cons: No, it's my favorite place to stay in Escondido!

Pros: Beach location, nice restaurant, great atmosphere. Staff very nice, efficient, responsive to concerns. Minimal use of plastic trash bags in the rooms was a big plus in this guest opinion.
Cons: N/A
6,3 Good
Pros: The view from the room was amazing.
Cons: Staff was unprofessional. Blaming me for service failures. Big events booked at the resort caused loud music to be heard when door was open. Drowning out the ocean.
6,7 Good
Pros: Proximity to the beach, comfortable beds, spacious rooms
Cons: Unclean rooms, lack of housekeeping staff,
7,9 Good
Pros: The closeness to the beach, being able to see the sunset from the pool area, the nice scent in the lobby as soon as you walk in. Having a restaurant in site was very convenient
Cons: It was kind of annoying the long distances from the elevator to the pool, to the room etc. I didn't appreciate the resort fee. Writing : by paying the fee you get "complimentary" newspaper, etc etc, it's deceiving. We paid for it, even if we didn't even see one newspaper....etc....., I also didn't appreciate that parking was not included in the resort fee, which if it is charged, then it usually is. To pay over $60 extra a day from the price quoted is a rip off and taking advantage of your guests.

Pros: Loved all the different activities they had on the premises.
Cons: Pricing of food on the premises is quite high.
7,9 Good
Pros: The rental was spacious and prepared with cooking utensils and cookware. The room was very clean and the view was beautiful from our patio. The unit had air conditioning, which was great with the California heat. There was always alot or staff around tending the property, and all very helpful and friendly.
Cons: I called prior to booking to confirm that my 4 year old, who is 40in. Tall, would be able to use the water slide at the pool. The front desk assured me that there was no restrictions for the water slide and that he would be able to use all of the amenities. I booked under this presumption and when we arrived to the pool found out that you have to be 42in. To ride. He was disappointed because I'd hyped him up about how exciting it will be to ride the water slide, and this was the main reason why I booked with Welks. Also, there was no driving range at the gold course which was disappointing. And I got a call offering to book a tour, I let the gal know we were interested but had our 3 sons. She let me know the older 2 can stay at the childcare center for the duration of the tour and my 1 year old could stay with us in the baby carrier. When we arrived [2 hours before check in] we where told our 1 year old was to young for child care but not able to attend the tour. Since we where there early and unable to tour, I'd hoped for an early check in which the resort was not able to accommodate. They did offer pool keys, which was nice. But then quickly learned that my son couldnt even go on the water slide, as I mentioned.

4,2 Okay
Pros: Location was great !
Cons: Check in was at 4:00 !!! I checked in at 5:00 went to room and it was not ready !! Went back to front desk and seemed really not to care .. pushed everything to maid service and when I finally got a hold of them they pushed my problem back to front desk .. Asked for fresh towels on Wednesday morning so when I got back from golfing I would have fresh towels . I was done around 3:30 and still no fresh towels so I called again and they finally brought them and just threw them in front of the door . I left all dirty towels at front door also . Asked for some kind of compensation . Tried to talk with management and all I got was he is very busy . I saw several people have the same problem when I was at front desk and they all wanted there money back to go stay somewhere else . I would have liked to relax for a couple of hours when checking in and get a shower before dinner at 7 but was unable to . It would be great if I could get some of my money back . This is to nice of a place for this to happen . I really want to stay here again when I come back again but have serious reservations . Any help on your part would be appreciated .

Cons: I forgot double lock the door, maybe that was my fault, but the stuff just used her card to open my room door and walk in without knocked the door.
