My stay was mediocre and not worth the money I paid for the room. I booked the Embassy Suites Downey for two nights so that I had a place to get ready for my wedding on Saturday, 6/17. I checked in on Friday evening and noticed the elevators were dirty. I figured, “Eh, it’s later on a Friday. They will be clean tomorrow.” Those elevators were always dirty. My room was clean. Unfortunately, the cleaning crew didn’t do well after the last guest occupied the room. There was poop splatter still in the toilet when I arrived on Friday night. I informed the front desk, and it was cleaned, but ewwww!

I was traveling in a difficult situation; we had to travel out of town for surgery. The staff were so kind, the room was very comfortable, the location was convenient with everything you need close by. At reception they loaded me up with free snacks. It was a lovely experience to have in the midst of a stressful experience.

Pros. I liked the brands they used as in coffee, creamer, etc and in the toiletries, it was something I recognized and new what to expect in performance. I like that they conserve water and energy by waiting to change your sheets and towels. But would still change it daily if you asked.

Cons. The hair dryer was a little too weak for me but I guess it should for those who like that. Just took longer to dry my hair.

Cons. Even though the is no smoking the room had a slight smoke smell. Don't know if the rooms need to be more aired out or something?

Pros. Wifi did not work in my room and hotel had no explanation or help to fix problem other than to give me free wifi. Useless. Room had mildew smell. Front area of suite is not functional.

Pros. Room was clean, roomy and comfortable

Cons. Hotel is under big construction project. Lots of dust and construction noise during day. Bar and restaurant amenities not available for now due to construction. I'm sure once it's all done it will all be great again

Pros. Restaurant, good food and drink, very friendly staff in bar section and the breakfast the next morning was good as well.

Cons. where do I start, my room faced west , which is the front of building and the glaring light that lights the outside of building also lit my room all night long...Upon arrival I was greeted with a note on my pillow that read something to the effect, that because I had the do not disturb sign out they did not clean my room, HUH? I just checked in, Needless to say I didn't feel comfortable that my room was cleaned. When I brought this to the attention to management the next morning, she seemed to think no big deal they probably just left the wrong card, I asked her "Would you feel comfortable?", little to no response. The other problem was that the air conditioner could not cool the entire room, especially the bedroom (its all the way in the back), which left me hot all night, where a sheet was almost too much, Overall I would not stay here again except it is so close to where I need to be once a month. For the price I would expect better.
