Destin resorts

Cons: I'm mold sensitive and the main building smells strongly like mold. Not so much the lobby and and.ground floor but once you go up higher it gets intense. The newer building is better.

Cons: Bathrooms slightly dated. Family resort, however 1 pool should be adults & teens only if they wish to chill. Otherwise, prepare to be splashed every 10 seconds.

Cons: They hogged the beach with there pricey umbrellas and didn't let us into the gym because we had a child with us therefor we couldn't work out the stay because we had a child.

Cons: High cost of room service for basic items

Cons: Though it has been recently refreshed it is still obviously an older property. Missing or broken tiles here and there...that kind of thing just makes the place appear to be poorly maintained. Housekeeping was a joke during our stay and it was blamed on COVID-19. I can accept that they can’t go into the rooms daily. I can’t accept that that means I have to make multiple requests for fresh towels before they’re delivered...of that it takes 3 days to change out batteries after multiple requests daily. Hilton likes to think of itself as a luxury brand. They certainly didn’t perform to that standard during our stay here.

Cons: In room safe and refrigerator were not operable and had to be replaced. Upholstered furniture is stained.

Cons: That housekeeping doesn't clean the rooms daily. Kind of a pain to make your own beds and buying a broom to sweep the sand off the floors ourselves. We were supposed to be on vacation. And they wanted to charge $55.00 to send housekeeping to clean.

Cons: I extended my stay by one night and was charged a resort fee twice

Cons: Have stayed at Sandestin 3 times now I liked the resort until this stay. The pool was filthy with all kinds of cups floating or sunk in pool a diaper had come apart on the side and it stayed there all day. We asked about getting someone to clean the pool and there was no one to do it (supposedly it was there day off). We stayed 3 days and the pools were dirty the whole time. No coolers were allowed at the pool so you had to buy water or whatever you wanted to drink from them. Didn't like the fact they charge a resort fee plus a cleaning fee on top of your nightly rate. You cant get a cup of water with your meal just bottled water waiter said they do to much volume to give a glass of water with your meal. Overall just thought they take advantage of whoever is staying on there property. I love the Destin area but will find a new place to stay.

Cons: I wasn't clear about how the property on the Bay side had a condo component. That means I wasn't informed that I would be responsible for my linens, coffee supply, etc. However, your kind staff made sure I had what I needed! Problem solved!

Cons: Only complaint is you have to cross a major road to get to the beach but they do offer a shuttle service that runs every 20 minutes.

Cons: Room was very dated. Needs some repairs. Room was a long way from the beach.

Cons: Housekeeping didn't come on a daily basis, however if we really needed something we could of requested it.

Cons: After driving thirteen hours with three children, it was disappointing to arrive and be surprised by additional fees of $92 at the check-in counter. From there we drove to our room (Bayside), unloaded the car, schlepped up to our room to find it uncleaned. Towels soaked in red juice, trash on the floor, no bedding, and the a/c off. The room phone did not work to call the front desk. I used my cell phone, and it remained on hold waiting for an agent for over 30 minutes. We didn't wait the 30 minutes, but I kept it on while re-loading the family and our luggage and returning to the front desk. They did change our room, but to pay $300/night and be moved to a room without 2 beds was disappointing. (Family of 5- original room was 2 Queens and a couch. "Upgraded" to a nicer area but given 1 Queen and a couch with 2 adults, 2 teens, and a 7 yr old.) 2nd room was clean but not adequate space for our family. Would've been better off saving money and having enough space for our family and a clean room. Not what I expect from a resort. Not even a complimentary bottle of water available.

Cons: It listed it right on the beach. We would NOT consider this on the beach. When I paid extra at check in to be on the "beach side" we still had to walk thru parking lots to get to the beach! Not worth the extra money because you are still not on the beach.

Cons: The Cons: Upon arrival, the welcome center was not clearly marked and therefore difficult to find - because the resort was advertised as beachfront, we went to the beachside gate first and were directed across the street to check in. Then we waited over 30 minutes to get our room keys, though I had already confirmed our room on kayak. The registration desk was only staffed with one person who was friendly, but not very efficient. She also told me I owed a slightly higher hotel fee than my kayak receipt said, but she corrected it to the amount per the kayak quote when I showed her my email receipt. Once in the room, (which was thankfully clean despite poor reviews I had read previously), we realized at bedtime that night that our shower faucet handle didnt work, so we had to call for maintenance (who showed up after 11 p.m.) to fix the problem, which he did quickly. While it was a late hour and the kids were asleep, I was grateful he worked past hours to fix our shower! Also, the two outdoor pools were slightly disappointing - I thought they were adverised as heated, but they were freezing! It was convenient to have restrooms near the beachside pool, and it was handy to have several outdoor showers, though one of the showers didn't work. Also, the beachside pool concierge was never open during our stay for towels, and neither was the ice cream vendor station at the Elephant Walk. Lastly, we ended driving 15+ minutes into Destin each night for family-friendly dining options. I'm sure an adults-only group would enjoy this resort much more than a family with young children. Overall, it wasn't worth the extra money to stay here as opposed to a decent hotel a few blocks off the beach! The false "beachfront" advertisement was irritating, and the resort seemed to be understaffed.

Cons: We were staying on the bottom floor right next to the pool which was amazing. But every night there was some sort of event going on. Some of the guests attending these events were extremely rude to guests of the resort for walking through to get to the pool.
