Cons: Only niggle was that the tours they arrange are a little over expensive. Ie to hire a driver for a half day from the hotel they stated 150usd... however they were able to arrange one for 50usd when pushed although it was arranged to pay direct. Cons: At checkin, Roger sat us down and energetically told us our room was not ready (we were early) and suggested we upgrade. I said no, so he asked me if we "really wanted" the room we had reserved. I explained we were tired from the long trip and asked if he could watch our bags and we would return later. He persisted in excitedly selling the upgrade. At checkout, no one could explain why I was charged 40 dollars more than what was listed on the bill. (The visa receipt did not match the folio) Of course it was the 10 percent charge at checkout that does appear in the booking email. These games were surprising at an spg hotel. .Everyone Was very nice while they created a sense of confusion that (of course) costs the traveler money. (I am sure worse for those who speak no spanish).

Cons: My brother and I were traveling together and we were placed in an exterior room that was uncomfortably warm the entire night with no ability to turn on a fan or air conditioning. We had to open the window to cool off and the noise from the street kept us awake. Also I was offered a coupon to use in the spa, but the spa was so booked that we could not use the coupon. The staff were helpful and friendly though and perhaps visitors should request an interior room which would be more comfortable and quiet.

Pros: where do i begin?? I LOVE JW and its staff. They went above and beyond to accommodate and make us feel at home. From the moment we step into the hotel and throughout our stay. (we came back to the same hotel after our trip to the Sacred Valley and Machu Piccu) Our altitude sickness kicked in and we had immediate help from the staff with oxygen treatment which we did a couple of times during our stay. Highly recommended.

Pros: The hotel is very modern and clean, but the location was a bit far from the city center. We had our rooms at the 6th executive floor. My room was exceptionally big with a small sitting area beside the bed, and the view outside of our room was great. We were quite disappointed on the other room for my relatives on the same executive floor. The room was small and only got 2 small windows with no city view. Overall both rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The breakfast was great with a lot of varieties. Overall we were very happy with our stay at Sonesta Cusco!!

Had a probably with a noisy air con unit, they temporarily gave us a heater and the next day upgraded us to a superior room. Lovely buffet breakfast each morning, bonus was the harp musician while having breakfast. Free transport to and from the airport is great.

Pros: We treated ourselves to a Superior Suite which had stunning views over the city and to the distant landscape. The 'lounge' area was very large and comfortable which was great for our first 2 days while we acclimatised to the altitude. The staff were really helpful and they looked after our luggage while we were away in Machu Picchu. The hotel's travel agent, Janet, was a lovely lady who was very knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel location is superb, near the main square but even nearer to a small square which became our favourite in Cusco.

They don't give you receipt unless you specially ask for one.

Cons: Bed was extremely uncomfortable and the noise at night can be unbearable. The windows including the shower window face the stairway so anyone can see you inside when they are open and trust me you are going to want some sort of airflow in your room as there is none. They also leave all the lights on so it just shines right on you while sleeping. I'd recommend finding a place with a good bed and quiet because if you are in Cusco to go on many trips like we did that sleep is crucial.

Cons: The facilities were not good. The hotel is old and there was no air conditioning anywhere. The room was freezing. Considering Winter in Cusco (3.500 meters of altitude) is very cold (mornings and evenings were between -1ºC and 1ºC), at least the rooms should have air conditioning. The room was aceptably clean but on the second day we noticed they didn't collect all the garbage from the bins and did not take the dirty chinaware.

Cons: The hotel we booked deal with us as we paid very little money that the way to give us the very poor room upstairs. So what explain in booking wasn’t true.

Cons: The beds were very uncomfortable. If you don't plan on sleeping in, then it's not a big deal.

Cons: Location was a bit too far from the centre. Especially when you are struggling with high altitude, it takes quite a long time to go to the main square, etc. We stayed at 3rd floor, and shower sometimes just became cold, and then became hot a bit later, repeated a few times. Our guess was the hot water is intercepted by other floor users...?
