9,0 Excellent
Pros: very pleasant rural location , breakfast first class as was the evening meals we enjoyed over our 3 night stay
Cons: nothing that's worthy of comment
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The room decorated to a high standard, bed was comfortable, good shower, plenty of wardrobe space. All the staff were excellent, great food, plenty of parking, nice quiet area. Good value for the money. This is an old building so floor boards are slightly squeaky which gives even more character, it didn't effect my sleep at all
Cons: My only slight gripe is l found the basin and toilet in the room quite close together, l am 6'6" though
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed Excellent dinner and breakfast Pleasant and helpful staff Will be back next time when travelling south as easily accessible for motorway.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent, room comfortable and fairly quiet.

Pros: The hotel was lovely. We stayed in one of the stable rooms it was huge & had a lovely view. The breakfast was spot on. Looking forward to our next stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely large room, staff were very friendly and the food and drink was excellent. A very modern looking exterior but a very warm and old-worldly interior.
Cons: Can't think of anything!!
6,3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good but they kept running out of coffee and toast when it was a self service breakfast. No choice of eggs - fried only. Could have been more butter sachets or margarine on tables.
Cons: The bed was too small and the mattress very uncomfortable. The room was too hot with radiators both in the bathroom and bedroom on full. We turned the bathroom radiator off but no matter what we did the bedroom radiator would not turn off completely. We were on the ground floor and couldn't really leave a window open, We had no small window that we could have left open.

Pros: Peacefull
Cons: Lack of fine detail
7,3 Good
Pros: I have stayed at Hunters Lodge many times over the last 5 years. The Rooms are clean and OK. Evening meals are good pub standard but in my view the Breakfast is the best in UK. The cooked breakfast comes quickly and is always good. Coffee and toast appear quickly etc. It is excellent value for money and I always try to stay at Hunters Lodge if in the Crewe area. I have stayed in quite a few others but now always try Hunters Lodge first.
Cons: I like a bath and some rooms only have a shower.
6,0 Good
Pros: Good food and pleasant staff
5,0 Okay
Pros: The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, the rooms are clean but basic and suspect better value can be had elsewhere. ok for one night.
Cons: It is a pub/restaurant/function location with some cheaply built rooms around the back. The floors creak and the walls are thin. You get what you pay for.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our night at Hunters Lodge Hotel, the staff were very welcoming even although they had to make sure all the wedding guests arriving were well looked after and we ate our breakfast the next morning with the bride, bridegroom and family.

Pros: The food served throughout the hotel was excellent, and always freshly cooked.
Cons:
6,8 Good
Pros: Homely with friendly courtious and helpful staff
Cons: It was very pleasant ; if I was being very critical the bar service was slow, not due to the staff who were excellent but the lack of numbers - but it was a Monday evening stay when perhaps full compliment was not applicable.

Cons: We were at a wedding and the bar shut downstairs and the function bar was small and temporary
6,7 Good
Pros: Reception staff attentive lovely buildin
Cons: Staff in restaurant need better training - - had to go and get own cups at breakfast and left standing with little communication on arrival for both breakfast and dinner - long wait for drinks at evening meal - would have preferred to stay in older part - jacuzzi in spa too small

Cons: Where the grass has gone in middle of new building
7,9 Good
Pros: The building, grounds, history. The staff are excellent. And a good selection at breakfast
Cons: I've been coming to Crewe Hall quite a few times. Feel standards in certain areas have dropped a bit
8,8 Excellent
Pros: nice location, the old building is realy impressive, rooms in new part so good comfort in spacious rooms. EU/ US/ UK sockets in room for charging (when plug forgotten). Nice pool and gym for work outs, great staff in restaurant.
6,3 Good
Pros: Staff did their best to overcome hotel shortcomings, all of them worked very hard to make amends and they were helpful and attentive. Generous compensation was offered and accepted to address the problems and our stay was memorable, albeit for the wrong reasons :-).
Cons: 4 star hotel creates a level of expectation. 1) check in time was 3pm and we arrived at 2.55. Rooms not ready. 2) no availability in restaurant when we arrived, eventually 9.30pm offered and restaurant manager got us Sat down at 9pm 3) lounge dusty and fluff on windowsill 4) brasserie bar only bar open after eating and not in keeping with grand appearance of hall in promotion photos.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: It was nice
Cons: Nothing
5,0 Okay
Cons: The room is looking very tired and in need of a refurbishment.
7,5 Good
Pros: The location was perfect for where we were heading for a wedding, only a 10 minute drive. The facilities were really good. It was a little busy but it was to be expected on a Saturday afternoon. The room was spacious and had everything you'd expect. The bed was comfy.
Cons: The person who checked me in didn't seem overly friendly. My room key didn't work but that was corrected pretty quickly. I wasn't sure if it was pre-paid or not as it was non refundable I assumed I'd paid already as I used my card details but was told to pay at the hotel. It can get noisy at night with the various functions that happen at the venue. We got back at 12.30am and there were guests who were rather loud returning to rooms at 1am which we didn't mind so much but I think for those who had gone to bed at 10/11 I'd find it a bit annoying being woken up at that time if I had an early start the next day.
7,5 Good
Pros: Swimming pool and steam room. Good food.
Cons: Tried to book on way back too, but it was prohibitively expensive - Nearly £70 more than on outward journey and a Monday night too.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very comfortable. Room was nicely laid out with a clean bathroom. The hotel itself is in very nice grounds that are enjoyable to walk around. There is a super spa with pool, sauna etc. etc. Well worth the visit. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast was a silly price. So we didn't have it. £16 - I would rather drive to the local M&S at a BP. There was no soap in the bathroom. However a quick request at reception produced a bar so not a big deal. Suspect the housekeeping made an error.
7,5 Good
Pros: Beds were comfortable
Cons: Breakfast in room was late, had to ring reception, so breakfast was rushed, as we were leaving at 8-30am.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with great pool and facilities in extensive grounds. Very attentive and friendly staff. High quality food.
Cons: Some bedrooms a long way from reception and restaurant.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and clean. Great facilities. Lovely food.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: An ideal location for our event. Great facilities, friendly staff and excellent food. The breakfasts were 10/10. Would repeat the visit if attending future events in this locality.
Cons: Gym was good, but if they upgraded their bikes to smart trainers it would be outstanding.
7,5 Good
Cons: Noise late at night, ska. Ming doors, my room was next to the fire escape, and people were slamming the door at 3.00am. Totally unacceptable. Informed the staff, but all they said that they were sorry. Totally not sincere. Room service, did not come up to standard. Ordered a prawn sandwich, that was all I got, no salad as per the description, and a packet of crisps emptied on a plate. Not what I expected.

7,1 Good
Pros: Good location and you are kind of getting what you paid for as breakfast in included although we didn't have breakfast so can't comment.
Cons: The room we had was very small, it was difficult getting in and out of the bathroom as the door wouldn't open fully due to where the bed was positioned.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: From opening the main door, to leaving the main door, fantastic service from all of the staff, breakfast was lovely, sausages were NOT the cheap rubbish I was expecting. I will always recommend The Waverley hotel. Well done to all the Staff.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: staff were exceptional nothing was to much trouble. booking cabs etc. room very comfortable bath and shower very good great pressure and hot water. facilities as in bar area were good. the grounds are lovely and worth a walk or a run we would book again if in the area
Cons: the bar prices were to high. no need for it. we come from London so expect high prices for food and drink but these were a joke. breakfast was no way worth the money £15.00 per head over 3 days would have been £90.00. we had day one. just not worth the money. no option to have a simpler breakfast say just pay for toast and cereal. we went into Nantwitch had a slap up breakfast £6 each. would of liked a gym or a pool to be honest but thats just me. went for a run in superb grounds
8,8 Excellent
Pros: not aplicable
Cons: still work being carried out
8,8 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was hot & excellent staff made sure every thing was fine and telling us if we needed more not to be afraid to help our self. the evening meal was also excellent and served quickly but we think the beer is a little bit on the dear side.
Cons: only there for one night so not much chance to find any faults other than beer prices to dear.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really modern and clean. No less than 8 USB charging points in room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Even with a total revamp of the main concourse everything was great. I felt a bit sorry for the reception staff hemmed in at the exit (temporary) but they were as usual friendly and helpful.
Cons: Only one minor irritation - there was a large number of very loud and rough (mostly males) in the dining room on the Tuesday evening - sounded like a bunch of overgrown children - the staff did attempt to calm them down
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were comfy
Cons: The price of the alchol
7,9 Good
Pros: Spacious room and great food in the resturant for breakfast and dinner
Cons: Work was being conducted on the ground floor and was a little loud, it wasnt too early or too late so can't blame them wanting to upgrade the hotel rooms.
7,5 Good
Pros: The room was lovely The breakfast was really good with a great selection, staff were very friendly we had a lovely time.
Cons: Bit chilly in the bar and other areas,my room was OK tho
7,5 Good
Pros: The hotel is currently going through a refurbishment so was a little chaotic. The reception staff were brilliant as were the rooms.
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant was having some problems and I felt that the food was not up to standard. I have stayed here before and the restaurant and the food were brilliant. But on this recent visit there was something truly lacking both on service and the quality of the food. The wait was very extensive between courses they were obviously having major issues in the kitchen !! There was one member of staff who was giving her all, but unfortunately the remaining staff were not really singing off the same sheet. We did try The Claret Jug on our second night and again the staff were not clued up on either the drinks or the food. We were told when we asked for the Menu " We have no bar snacks and only have burgers" when in fact there were people at adjoining tables eating off of a more extensive menu. It lead e to feel that the staff on duty were not really interested in the client and did not really want to be there, which is a shame as the drinks are not cheap !! I also felt that at £ 15.95 a head for breakfast this was a little excessive, having seen what was on offer I declined this facility. As it stands at present although the hotel is lovely part of booking this particular hotel was to gain the whole experience of eating and drinking on site ( as it is a few miles out in the country). Needless after our initial dining experience we did in fact venture out and eat in a village 5 miles away. I have visited this hotel on many occasions and have never had to give such a negative feed back !! If these issues are not resolved soon, I feel after overhearing other guests comments that this will fast lose clients to nearby hotels, I shall not be returning in the foreseeable future, which is such a shame as before it changed hands it was a brilliant venue. My theory is that if you are spending money in a restaurant ( and it was not particularly cheap !!) you would like to feel that you are important enough to warrant both a reasonable standard.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The room was very modern, the staff were friendly on arrival.
Cons: I didn't have an iron in the room or any tea and coffee facilities...the hotel was going through some renovation works which should have been explained on their website. I wanted a double room however had to settle for a twin bed, the beds were not very comfortable and my room was right next to doubles doors in the corridor which made extremely loud bangs every time someone went through them.
Best Western Crewe Arms Hotel - Crewe - Bedroom

7,6 Good (590 reviews)
R1 949+
Overview Reviews
Best Western Crewe Arms Hotel in Cheshire is just the ticket for a relaxing getaway - which should come as no surprise when we tell you that it's located adjacent to Crewe Railway station (and is the world's first Railway hotel, built in 1830)! For both business and leisure guests, we go all out to make your stay as comfy-cosy as possible. Our job is made easier by the beautiful red brick building we inhabit, which stands out at the entrance to the town and is held in much affection by the many locals and visitors from further afield. Such is the character of our hotel that Queen Victoria and her family stayed here when she travelled from London to Scotland for her annual summer holidays - there's even a tunnel that she used here to avoid walking with the commoners! Hotel restaurant closed on Sunday evenings. The restaurant is also closed for lunch & dinner on bank holidays. Limited cold food is available from the bar. Enjoy your stay!

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Exactly what one expects from a hotel. Comfortable and clean. Excellent service.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely and friendly staff, good with our dog, comfy beds. Was pleasantly surprise by the quality wine and good choice of vegan food.
Cons: Woken early by the constant announcements from nearby station. But other rooms would have been fine I’m sure. We did book last minute.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location for access to Greater Manchester, Merseyside and North Wales. Opposite Crewe Railway Station with parking. Say no more.
Cons: My room didn't have any desk space for using a PC which would have been useful.

Overview Reviews
Located in Crewe, The Royal Hotel is a 1-minute drive from Alexandra Stadium and 9 minutes from Nantwich Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: How the staff Was
Cons: Befor I even open my door the door was open it wouldn’t shut then I hat to wait nearly A hour for another room, the staff was really good he said I would get my money back and a free night stay again
7,5 Good
Cons: Not really suitable for people with disabilities no lift and a lot of stairs to climb. No dressing table and no shelves in bathroom
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Excellent location for the railway station. Room layout slightly unusual but clean and reasonably comfortable, so serves its purpose well.
5,8 Okay
Cons: I paid an extra £9.50 on top of the £60 fee for breakfast. First I was told there was no semi-skimmed for my cereal which as a diabetic I require for a balance diet and then I was told they don't do vegetarian breakfast... thus I ended up with scrambled eggs and toast which I may well had got in Crewe Station. There was no offer to pop across the road to get some semi-skimmed. In the Crewe Arms and the Holiday Inn just up the road for similar prices they put labels on the milk for semi or full cream and both offer vegetarian breakfast. I think it's pretty poor and I shall not be staying here again. Plus as usual they give you a desk in the room with no chair! Ps I've said before, I cannot bring my friend to stay as unbelievably the hotel has no lifts or disabled access and it has two floors!
5,8 Okay
Pros: The staff were pleasant and hotel building was lovely
Cons: I paid for a deluxe king room but I didn’t find anything deluxe about the room the shower was big and nice but the actual shower was shocking. The bed was 2 singles with just sheets over as a king so we fell through the middle. Over all was a very poor stay but I was given a full refund a few days later as she had to check with manager
6,3 Good
Pros: Decorated inside well
Cons: No hotel staff available in evening or early morning to deal with other residents smoking in rooms. The smell drifted into my room through evening and night. No hairdryer in room so had to wander hotel to find a cleaner to get one from store cupboard. Location not the nicest. If you want anything other than full English breakfast expensive and poor for £9.50. No food currently available in evening.
2,9 Mediocre
Pros: Poor
Cons: Nothing

Cons: The cold showers! and the constant smell of cigarette smoke in the room not pleasant!

Pros: It was centrally located and convenient very clean and the staff were wonderful

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Really comfy beds and there is Mc Donalds next door.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed, fast checkin/out, friendly staff, good brekkers
Cons: Kettle was a bit manky (but not as manky as mine at home
7,1 Good
Pros: Clean. Good bedroom. Good location breakfast was nice.
Cons: There was a delivery at around 6am in the morning that was right under our window, there was no consideration for the amount of noise they were making and had woken us up. I also don't think you should have to pay for parking.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Clean, good service
Cons: No Air conditioner on the summer it’s difficult to stay. Small fan given by the staff was not sufficient. For a £99 a standard room under big name is not worth at all.
7,5 Good
Cons: Noise from neighboring bathroom extractor fans Poor coffee
6,0 Good
Pros: Decent breakfast. Good location. Comfy bed and nice room.
Cons: The room was like a sauna. It was 28-29 degrees in there. The aircon wasn't working, which we were told was the same for the whole hotel. No fan was available. We only managed to sleep by lying completely naked on top of the bedsheets with the window and curtains open so we could just about breathe. This really wasn't good enough. I will never stay here again unless it's midwinter. It's dangerously hot for people who are not in good health or who have breathing difficulties.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Food excellent bed ok but pillows hard and lumpy.
Cons: Just the pillows
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing, especially the breakfast staff who made me vegetarian sausages as the sign said to ask staff. Really happy with this. They also had soya milk but you need to ask for this. Mel (staff) was amazing she was very helpful and managed the hotel by herself the day I was leaving well done to her & the other staff for their hospitality and helpfulness.
Cons: taxi service to leave the hotel took long (next time I should pre-book). But staff were helpful with this.
