7,3 Good
Pros: I have stayed at Hunters Lodge many times over the last 5 years. The Rooms are clean and OK. Evening meals are good pub standard but in my view the Breakfast is the best in UK. The cooked breakfast comes quickly and is always good. Coffee and toast appear quickly etc. It is excellent value for money and I always try to stay at Hunters Lodge if in the Crewe area. I have stayed in quite a few others but now always try Hunters Lodge first.
Cons: I like a bath and some rooms only have a shower.

Pros: The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, the rooms are clean but basic and suspect better value can be had elsewhere. ok for one night.

Pros: Homely with friendly courtious and helpful staff
Cons: It was very pleasant ; if I was being very critical the bar service was slow, not due to the staff who were excellent but the lack of numbers - but it was a Monday evening stay when perhaps full compliment was not applicable.

Cons: the cleaner cleaning my room. emptied bin once in 4 days and eft bag of rubbish on tea tray. no top up of tea coffee from day 1. food was hit and miss. corporate dinner was a shambles and couldnt eat the lamb which looked like tinned dog food

Pros: The Breakfast was lovely and a great choice of food available. the areas around the hotel look lovely however it was a miserable day full of rain so we didnt venture out much. The breakout area and the veniuye at nightime looked good
Cons: We arrived to check in at after 2pm and found our room of good quality, we had a walk around the inside of the hotel only to find all facilities like bar, food even coffee all shut. We were told to walk over to the claret jug which is the golf clubhouse, with the weather like it was that wasnt going to happen, we were able to get coffee after much deliberation by reception got one. if people are checking in at 2pm and it is a horricle day, it makes a little sense to open food and bar facilities earlier
6,0 Good
Pros: Your staff are very helpful and polite. Your evening menu and food is very good
Cons: The toilet seat was broken and could have caused a nasty accident. I reported it to reception We asked for a twin room and got a double. Receptionist was unable to secure another room as the hotel was full The use of the emergency exit to the patio in the lounge for people who smoked, made the lounge very cold Your breakfast is too expensive for someone who only eats porridge The restaurant was cold
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Recently refurbished so all public areas are immaculate. I stayed in a deluxe double and it was pretty faultless (barring the mattress). WiFi was great, no messing around to connect, good speeds and handled me using a VPN without any fuss. Staff were all lovely and friendly. Nice touches like having USB ports on every socket and remote controlled air-con were really nice. I was only staying a single night to attend a training course but would have been happy to stay for a week.
Cons: The mattress had no support at the sides so would collapse as I rolled out of bed. I was hoping for some peace in the bar given how quiet the hotel was but there was unfortunately a group of drunk men singing so loudly I could hear it over my headphones. The staff seemed content with this so I left.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: everything
5,0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was fair ..staff polite..
Cons: Not very clean shower door broken radiator in toilet not on ..cold in corridors bed mattress poor quality..
10,0 Excellent
Pros: From moment of arival, it was our second visit. Nothng really has changed, excelent service, excelent rooms and the food...yep, excelent. Of course, the price was outstanding, as it was last year as well. Like it is said, you get what you pay for. To be fair, the price could go up another £5 or so, and it would still be great value. I don't know about other hotels in the area, but i can certainly recomend this one. Why pay hundreds, if not thousands, when quality this good is a bargain for anyone to consider.
Cons: As it is, i cannot fault our stay there. Mabee my standards are too low, or, i'm just as happy as i can be at the warm welcome and stay. I'm not one of those, nit-picky persons, that goes round picking fault with everything. I expect a reasonable service for a reasonable price, and this place goes above that. All hotels should be at this standard.
Best Western Crewe Arms Hotel - Crewe - Bedroom
9
7,8 Good (679 reviews)
R1 942+
Overview Reviews
Best Western Crewe Arms Hotel in Cheshire is just the ticket for a relaxing getaway - which should come as no surprise when we tell you that it's located adjacent to Crewe Railway station (and is the world's first Railway hotel, built in 1830)! For both business and leisure guests, we go all out to make your stay as comfy-cosy as possible. Our job is made easier by the beautiful red brick building we inhabit, which stands out at the entrance to the town and is held in much affection by the many locals and visitors from further afield. Such is the character of our hotel that Queen Victoria and her family stayed here when she travelled from London to Scotland for her annual summer holidays - there's even a tunnel that she used here to avoid walking with the commoners! Hotel restaurant closed on Sunday evenings. The restaurant is also closed for lunch & dinner on bank holidays. Limited cold food is available from the bar. Enjoy your stay!
7,0 Good
Pros: Plenty of parking and, staff were very helpful and friendly
Cons: It was clean and comfortable if a little tired in terms of décor. More sound proffing would be good as, the noise from the trains was quite loud and woke me up.
7,0 Good
Pros: Location was great as we wanted to visit friends in the area and had travelled from London to Crewe
Cons: Th room was very hot and it was difficult to sleep Also it was a shame that a lot of the old world charm had been taken out of the bar area The modern look was not in keeping with the age of the age of the building
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy with the bed
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Big bedroom right next to the train station. Very quiet. Hotel of character. Professional staff.
Cons: The breakfast was expensive:£10.95 so I ate outside. I would have had breakfast up to £8
4,0 Okay
Cons: Received a parking fine for £60 for dropping off a member of family booked here. Stayed 15 minutes, werent informed by staff about parking, also dark outside so didn't see signs. Contacted hotel, after receiving fine, who apologised then contacted parking firm and cancelled it The hotel itself was very very noisy from the work being done on the adjacent railway line. Apparently staff dont look or check to see if work is being done. Had they done so they could have moved residents to the opposite side where there were vacancies. The windows are all single glazed sash windows, totally insufficient.

Pros: Good location close to the train station. Room was spatious.
Cons: No thorough cleaning has been done in a while. The upholstery was covered in stains and there was a lot of dust everywhere, even on the heated towel rail. Even the decorative cover on the bed had stains on it.

5,0 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Shower and TV seemed to work sporadically
6,0 Good
Pros: good location, 5 minutes from station. cooked breakfast was enormous, 2 eggs, 3 bacon, 3 sausage, 2black pudding but toast was cool and coffee was awful - just instant apparently an Illy americano was not possible, asked for tea instead not much better. hotel recently refurbished looks good.
Cons: tv didn't have any channels to begin, reception was good, he came up straight away and set tv to scan for channels... coffee; room door had old yale lock, I locked it on the button overnight, in the morning I couldn't unlock the door, no phone in room, ended up levering the button using a tea spoon. no problem for me but an older, more frail, anxious client might have panicked, especially if there had been a fire alarm. no-one on the desk to inform when I checked out at 0830
9,0 Excellent
Pros: it was sound
Cons: nothing really everything was sound
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room and bathroom. Basic facilities in room but very clean at a great price.
Cons: Couldn’t really fault my stay much but if I was being picky, the TV was at an odd angle to the bed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, very accommodating when I realized they didn't have a lift and I have mobility problems moved us to the first floor. It is a noisy hotel as they have bar and function room on site. We were there for an event in the function room so noise didn't bother us. Fantastic that after the event we could just stagger to bed. Freshly cooked full English was excellent. A excellent weekend. Thank you
Cons: No lift (my fault for not checking)
