Colonia hotels near Colonia del Sacramento Lighthouse

Pros: Nice design overall, room spacious

Cons: Personnel seemed to be not happy, breakfast was announced to be available @ 7:30 but when we came at 7:45, it took more than half an hour for the “unhappy” staff to complete setting all the foods. Eggs took even longer.

Pros: Good bed, location, room and breakfast.

Cons: The shower wasn’t that good. O chuveiro não tinha muita força. There was just 2 waiters working on breakfast room (it wasn’t enough).

Cons: The French windows were beautiful but opening them involved climbing behind the furniture

Pros: Great location, beautiful sunset, clean and modern room, very friendly staff.

Cons: My only complaint is the coffee for breakfast, it was undrinkable .

Pros: The location was good if you have a car. The building had a nice architecture. The rooms were very silent, which was great.

Cons: Breakfast not not great. Very little parking space for cars. Bathroom could be better. Pool was small.

Cons: One young receptionist attitude was kind of rude and she started a non-sense discussion regarding my booking (I booked 2 double rooms with king bed and she insisted that is a twin room). In the end she gave me the rooms I booked so it was ok.

Pros: Very good accomodation. We booked a Suite and had enough space in the 3rd floor. We liked this hotel with the Restaurant and Pool very much.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, extremely comfortable beds too and enjoyed a dip in the pool. Would recommend staying here if visiting Colonia in the summer

Pros: beautiful house with modern bedrooms, clean and friendly. Wonderful shared living area. Great location.

Cons: the big patio could have many more tabless and chairs to be used by guests. Only two small coffee tables were a waste of the beautiful space. Breakfast option had to be paid. There could be a few more bathrooms but not a big problem.

Pros: Nice building, big lockers to put the backpack in, nice common areas

Pros: This hostel is really nice, and have a great common area to chill, the Kitchen is really good for cooking with all the stuff you need to do so. The rooms are big and well maintained, and power plugs at each bed.

Pros: Kitchen 24/7 Enough toilets and showers

Cons: The reseption is 24/7, i waited about 50min outside in the rain at 6am because the person that soppose to be in the reseption was resting in the salon(outside of the reseption) and he couldn't hear me knocking.(he saw me going out of the hostel...)

Pros: The location of the hotel is just perfect - 5 minutes from the port and bus station. The Hotel is very well managed - all the member of the staff were very helpful, breakfast was excellent, pool area was nice and the room very clean.

Cons: The only thing that I didn`t like was that the room was a bit small.

Pros: -Pool was nice and warm and is open year round -Short Walking distance to ferry terminal; also walking distance to old town - breakfast was fine, many carb options, plus ham/cheese - room was quite clean

Cons: - room had only 1 plug, behind a bed. In our case it was falling out of the wall too. - room and bathroom were quite small - mattresses were slightly slanted - seemed quite $ for the room , though I suppose there is a high demand for the area. Temper your expectations:)

Pros: Good size room. Liked the swimming pool. Quet location.

Cons: Not sure if it was a 5 or 4 star hotel. To my mind it was a 4 star level and a bit dated. The cheapest room was over eur 100 so expected slightly more .

Pros: Right on the river, within walking distance of the historic district. Can walk here from the port if you arrive to Colonia via the ferry. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and varied, and the staff are all friendly and mostly bilingual.

Cons: Its expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Pros: The fact that the hotel is one block from the bus station

Cons: Bad breakfast, shower wets the bathroom floor and it’s too small, location good when arriving by bus but far from the beautiful historical center on foot.

Pros: The one thing about this place is that extremely close to the ferry port (if you’re coming by ferry). It’s an easy walk. Also, they give you a map upon arrival and explain a few things to see/do.

Cons: Unfortunately the lady at the reception (Patricia) was either not having a good day, or she shouldnt be in the hospitality business. First of all, if you do not speak a word in Spanish, it’s better if you skip this place. She will not make an effort to understand or talk to you in English, or Portuguese. Other staff were better at that, though. Second of all, this is such a small, cute place, in a good location, like I said above, but I just didn’t feel like I was the guest there that they want to make feel welcome and comfortable. One example, we knew breakfast was until 10:30am on Sundays, but we were late and so during check out (at 10:50am) we simply asked about a cup of coffee. No food, no preparation, nothing, just a cup of coffee from the machine. She said: “breakfast is over. No coffee anymore”. Another example, we asked if we could check out a little bit later (only an additional hour). Most places (if they dnt have overlapping reservations) they would let you stay a little/tiny little bit longer, right? Here, you have to pay additional 200 pesos per hour. In dollars, that’s not much, but it’s just the “principle” that really bothered me. And finally, the price. Cost per value. We pay 100 usd for 1 night. I thought it was way above what this places offers. I dont know if it’s because of the time of the year we went to, but I could have gone to another place that maybe was a litte bit further from the port, but would not refuse to give me coffee or wouldn’t charge me for a late check out.

Pros: It was very clean overall. Every day they would have clean sheets, towels and the facilities were spotless.

Pros: Staff was very nice, although when checking in the guy at the counter was talking to people jumping the queue all the time.

Cons: There was quite some hair in the sink (rest of the room was clean), not enough staff during breakfast (the poor guys that were there worked really hard), internet in our room (232) was non-existent. Secure parking means parking in front of the hotel (not really secure). The windows made quite some noise in the wind, so does the old fridge (we pulled the plug). Lack of power points in the room.

Pros: Best hotel yet. Looks rustic from outside great rooms great beds most friendly staff as it’s family run. Ps they all speak English. Would definitely return and reccomend
