The hotel is very well located, just a short 10-minute walk to the old city center. The bed is comfortable and we were given a wide room with plenty of space for our things. The bathroom was also clean and the shower hot and with good pressure. The boiler is located inside the bathroom, but we had not consumed even half of its capacity after taking two showers. The hotel feels like a beautiful old colonial house, but everything inside is new and well taken care of.
The breakfast was definitely a lowlight. There's no buffet, instead they bring you a basket of bread with some pastries, they serve orange juice and coffee. There are no fruits and despite the fact that the staff was friendly, we did not feel comfortable enough to ask for more juice or food. We paid a premium fee to stay there, probably due to the fact that it was on a Saturday. Coffee lovers: the coffee is really low quality, it's even worse than traditional Brazilian supermarket coffee, with a burnt smell. Consider though that this was true for all places I stayed in Uruguay, even 4 star hotels. There's no paid for good quality espresso option either.
The staff was very nice and the hotel was affordable.
Our very small room smelled like mildew. Breakfast is only a basket of bread.
Everything was good, room was spacy and clean, hotel is near the old town, staff is friendly. Breakfast could be more varied.
The location is great. Near the bus and ferry terminal (6 minutes walk). It is also close to the places of interest (all within walking distance). They accept credit card which makes it convenient. There is a mini-mart nearby. The breakfast is coffee, orange juice, and pastries and bread. Nothing fantastic but not bad either. The hotel has various types of rooms. The one I was put in has a queen/full bed and two bunk beds. Good for families. The outlets in the room charge American, European, and Argentinian plugs. No need to buy adapters. Good hot water for showers!
Water flow was low but okay. The bathroom is functional, just needs an update. The sink stopper, once pressed in cannot be popped out.
