The Hertz staff at the Fairport facility was very friendly and helpful. Car was in nice shape, nice to driveTo avoid paying an extra fee to extend rental you cannot use the local Hertz counter, you have to call the national number. Had to wait for help and then they were not helpful. The Kayak deal was great at $21. per day for the week, but Hertz wanted over $40 per day to extend for two days with fees. Did not extend. Foolish of Hertz to lose the extra rental

Staff at pick up was easy and very friendly.The drop off on the locations off day could be better. The key drop off was a slot in the door with no cover and I could see all other keys dropped off. Anyone could have used a hanger or long item to grab any set of keys to take a return rental. Need to make it so you can’t see in with a sleeve not letting anything to be removed once put in.

We thought we booked at the Rochester, NY airport but instead the location was 10 miles away and we could not pick up the car and lost our payment.

Location was pretty gross. Staff, although friendly, had totally no knowledge and had to make several phone calls during a pretty simple drop off process.

I had to perform personal maintenance to make it a comfortable ride.I liked the flexibility in changing the drop off location. Was given the option between two cars. Associate was not pushy in up-selling insurance, but rather consultative.Was not advised of an additional fee for a drop off location change. Car reeked of cigarette smoke - had to purchase an air freshener. Tire pressure was low - had to refill tires.

I thought I was renting a car at the airport but it was at some site about 15 miles away. I ended up having to pay $150 extra for a weeks rental, avoid this scam.

booked a car rental on line with payment made in full and before i could even touch down i had a voice mail from the car rental rep telling me that they had no car to give me on arrival and were cancelling my reservation-----------i was very upset about the very bizzare customer service and hired a car from some one else will never us Hertz again-----pathetic service , pathetic website

Lack of available car in spite of of confirmed booking!The car once we eventually got it was lovely and easy to drive.We were not picked up as arranged and got no phone call. When we did call we were told there were no cars available in spite of having a confirmed booking. Very poor customer service. Delayed us by nearly 2 hours which was a lot as we were travelling and only had the car for a day.

Got an amazing deal on a chevy tahoo rental. Then they were all out so we got upgraded to a 12 passenger van at no additional cost. It was amazing.Nothing. Pick up was quick. Drop off was quick. Free upgrade was amazing. This was a perfect experience.

NothingThe vehicle I ordered was not available, I was offered a different vehicle at a higher rate, no other options were available to me. For the vehicle I picked up was dirt and had a very strong order of marijuana.

Reservation and no car availableReserved a car around 11:30am, went to pickup at 5pm and i was told there wasn't any cars available. They said reserving online verses calling their agents directly that the two cannot keep in sync and cars tend to sell out if you you make reservations online.

The car was a very nice car, clean and new, drove well. Dropoff at the Pittsburgh airport was very easy.The pickup location at Jefferson in Rochester was hard to find, and I couldn't figure out how to get through the phone system to talk to the person at the office to get more detailed directions. Representative could have been more informative about terms and where the car actually was.

Avis Bait and SwitchAvis did not have the car class that was confirmed in the reservation available -- in fact, they had no cars, only SUVs and a van. We had confirmed the reservation for a premium and without an upcharge only an SUV was available which was unsuitable for the event we were attending. We had no other choice but to upgrade to a van for an extra $100 or leave without a large enough vehicle. We should have walked away instead of agreeing to the extra expense. Avis will not consider any sort of refund for the extra charge which is very disappointing. Obvious bait and switch tactic and very unprofessional. In the future there are many other rental agencies to consider other than Avis.

The lady at the Henrietta location next to Tully’s is the rudest person I’ve ever come across. She was mean to everyone in line, about 9 separate people. She kept complaining she wanted to quit and hated her job and a truck came and took cars from here. She was awful. I will never go to that location again, not even if it was free.
