Car was great. Was not given helpful directions on pickup spot and return spot. Dropped keys in box at return since no one was at counter. Rather nervous about that.

Our overall experience was very good. Great car , nice counter lady, good instructions for pick up and return. However, the car was.DIRTY! Unwashed, bug smeared windshield, and lots of trash inside. Fast food bags, soda, cans, and drink cups. I’m back paperwork from the previous renter. Open box of crackers and lots of crumbs. We have never had a rental car given to us so dirty. We were going to be driving guests around so it had to be cleared out in short order. Not what you want in a rental car.

Hertz was listed as one of the car rentals when I searched for a car at Peoria Illinois airport. When I arrived at PIA I was told that the car rental Hertz had not been at the airport since Covid. I had to take a cab to the Hertz pickup place in Peoria, thus paying $50 to pickup the car. You mast take down that misleading information on your site,

It takes way too long to pick up the car, especially considering if you're coming from the airport, it's already 25 minutes out of the way.

Pick up took 50 minutes. I was told that someone had called in sick so the only lady there had to go clean each car before it could get rented. Then the manager came in and explained the car cleaner had hand surgery and was out for weeks (so the lack of car cleaner was entirely foreseeable.) They also told me they didn't have my reservation despite me having a kayak confirmation email with a Hertz confirmation number. It very easily could have been a lot better customer service.
