Pros: The first person who assisted me was very nice and help me getting a better car for the snow so I upgraded to a 4x4 SUV my rentCons: having the car clean no with mud and dust and papers and stuff inside plus with wash fluid because at the middle of my trip from Denver to Vail I got the low wash fluid sign the first time I used it so obviously before getting to Vail I ran out of wash fluid in the middle of a snow storm which made the beginning of my trip very dangerous because of a lack of supervision from your company which delivered a car which has recently dropped at your facilities, very bad honestly.

Pros: The lady who assisted us in dropping off the car was very pleasant and I appreciated that, as it was very cold and early. The shuttle to the airport was prompt and helpful.Cons: I had reserved a car for around $200 online. When I arrived (after standing in a line for over 30 minutes) I was told that I had to have an AWD vehicle by state law. I "was lucky" and they had 1 AWD vehicle left in stock. It took my total to $755. If that is the case, why even have the other vehicles available to rent in the first place? I saw plenty of people driving non-AWD rental cars and they presumably didn't get fined. I was also urged to purchase a toll pass for $9.99/day because "I would definitely go through multiple tolls". I didn't go through one toll and had to pay $69.93 for nothing. It seems like a big scam and rip off. I hope that NO ONE is taken "advantage" of like I was again.

Pros: Farah, who welcomed me at the counter, was very personable and professional.Cons: The car was dirty inside and out. probably due to the previous day's snowstorm. In addition, the gas tank was not full although hard to tell from the gauge. It was only obvious when refilling.

Pros: Not much other than the car worked fine and was availableCons: Not being snaked into a price that wasn’t real. Upon arrival I find out I “need” a 4 wheel drive. There goes an additional 100 bucks to my charge. The staff who helped me was cold and unwelcoming.

Pros: Staff was friendly Return was quick and easyCons: We waited over 45 mins at the airport pickup, we watched other rental chains rotate van/ bus one after the other. We waited 25 mins at the checkin, only 2 agents active with 7 checkin areas available. 2 were apparently at lunch. We waited 50 mins once checkin was complete to get our vehicle that was being prepped and washed We waited 25 mins to get a shuttle back to the airport I will not use Fox again. This is a very poorly run, inefficient operation

Pros: Drop off was easy I guess?Cons: They were dishonest in their representation of Denver's tolling system to get me to spend more on their easy toll system. They also charged me for insurance that I told them I didn't want. Car smelled like cat urine.

My issue would be with the signage on the buses (on EVERY window of the bus) letting passengers know you are limiting the number of people onboard and requiring all to wear masks to protect us. And then the driver just keeps on letting people board - every seat was taken, people were standing and maskless.Cons: Actually complying with the signage

Pros: The front desk gentleman was great and very helpfulCons: The vehicle was dirty inside and out, windshield has smudges all over the inside glass, car had not been vacuumed well, the outside was dirty as well. My first time using your service outta DIA and was kinda disappointed compared to my usual rental. Also the car was not in the best shape considering I paid for a premium vehicle, a Cadillac what was dirty, had a few dents and scratches, around the car the wheels were curb rashes pretty good. I get they are rental vehicles trust me I do, I used a rental often but when you pay for a upgrade you kind of expect and nice well kept vehicle for your money. The car also had a slight odor to it when we got, not sure exactly what it was but it went away about a day or two later so it wasn’t too bad. This review is not meant in a bashful way, it’s constructive feedback. Your customer service was wonderful as I said and customer service goes a lot farther in my book so for that I appreciate the service but the cars could use a litter more attention. Thank you

Pros: The return process was easy enough, compared to everything else we endured.Cons: Well, I've never had such an awful experience with a company before. Renting a car in Denver for 6 days to ski, we became aware of a massive storm that would trap us in the mountains, and a death in the family. I called Alamo to inquire about adding another driver to the car (the only way to get the other party to the funeral on-time, and let us avoid the storm). Alamo's number in Denver directed to a national hotline in Tennessee. The gentleman was completely unhelpful and insisted we physically be present at an Alamo location to add an additional driver (again, impossible, given the circumstances). He assured us that the Denver location would call us back (they never did). We even tried calling through the general airport hotline to be directed to the individual location, again, nope! Alamo basically gave us zero options and left us high and dry. Talk about first and last time ever using this company!

Cons: We reserved a full size car so we would have a trunk. They did not have one so we got an suv-no truck. We also were told the wrong parking space number, so we took a different car by mistake & the security guard noticed the plates being different but let us go instead of making sure we had the right car. We did not notice the extra keys in that car. When we got to our hotel, we realized we took the wrong car. Had to return early to straighten it out. It was a hassle.

Pros: Drop off was easy, the rest was horrible.Cons: Apparently there’s two different Budget rentals in Denver, which we had no idea. We just hopped on the budget rental shuttle. When we got there we were informed we were at wrong location and we would have to Uber to right location but they would be closed when we got there. We ended up having to pay an extra $300 to get a car. Very frustrating when you don’t know the area.

Cons: The rental van had a traction alert lit on the dash. The windshield wipers were falling apart. Small toys left from other rentals. The drop of was so poorly ran that upon arrival no one was in attendance. Apparently there was only one person working. Then we had to walk back out to gather the mileage off the van in order for the rental to be checked in on an unlimited mileage rental because she didn’t have time to check in properly. I will look for a different rental company in the future.

Pros: The staff was fine - no real waiting - car was clean - pick up and drop off were fine.Cons: The size car I ordered was not avail when I got there so they upgraded me- normally never a problem but they gave me (without asking) a full size mini van - I asked for something smaller and they said that was all they had. Shifter was a round dial on dash right next to the radio and Ac control - terrible design - key fob did not work as it should - vehicle just way too big - I ordered a compact car. I asked if there was anything avail smaller and was told no. I do not like driving large vehicles but was given no choice at all. Yet the car lot was full of cars - ????

When we asked about the key to someone walking by, he looked for a few seconds and then said "huh. I don't know." and then just walked away. The second car we got was cleaner and worked well.

Pros: The staff was Awful, customer service was impossible to get ahold of, and the address from the confirmation email was a gated lot with NO ENTRY. The lot was actually at Avis, but there is no signage for payless at all. It took over 30 minutes to get ahold of payless via phone, and they didn't know where the lot was either. Pros: The car was great. It was clean and a comfortable ride. No issues. Return was easy tooCons: They use the Avis shuttle but do not tell you that. I wanted 45 minutes for the shuttle until driver told me that they were also picking up Payless customers. Picking up the car was awful. They tried to charge me for an upgrade after saying they didn't have any cars in the class I reserved. Then the car they assigned me to was already occupied by another customer that was also assigned the same car. It took a long time to actually get the car I reserved. I felt like I was being scammed. A different employee helped me after I was assigned an occupied car. He was great. He gave me the car I had reserved and did it quickly. No problems after that. Also, I could not reach customer service by phone to ask about shuttle. Calls would not go through or were not answered

Pros: Pickup was easy and quick, that's where the positives ended.Cons: The car was obviously not cleaned, there were crumbs in the steering wheel and change in the center console, the windshield was impossible to see though at night because it was so dirty (like it had been sprayed to be cleaned and never wiped off), the rearview mirror was broken and jiggled while the car was in motion. When it came time for drop-off, the address on the contract printout was incorrect so the GPS would have taken us the wrong way had we not realized it was obviously the wrong way.

Cons: The Payless location was closed. I had to figure out with no signage at the Payless location or information on my reservation that the Avis location was servicing Payless customers. There was absolutely NO communication about this. I had to walk with 3 bags to the Avis location after being stranded at the Payless location. No one at Payless or Priceline could or wanted to help me. This caused me to be delayed by an hour, and it was an annoying and difficult situation do deal with. This needs to be remedied for future customers!!!

Pros: Vehicle was new and clean, drop-off experience was efficient if a bit under-signed/explained.Cons: Pick-up was incredibly slow due to lack of staff and a confusing setup. Signage was poor and Payless does not seem to have a strong presence at what is essentially an Avis facility. This includes the shuttle service. The Avis and Payless lines are adjacent but the Avis one moves more quickly and presents as more "official." Counter staff serve both lines but the Avis line progressed far faster. Once at the counter the rep. was very friendly and helpful. No major issues once departing the airport although given Denver in the winter with a bulk of these vehicles headed to the mounts an ice scraper would have been helpful.

Pros: The drop off was easy.Cons: I wouldnt book through kayak or priceline, because my questions just got sent to every other customer service center (ie. AAA, thrifty. etc). The pickup was quite long considering there was only 2 or so individuals in line in front of me. The insurance I bought online had nothing to do with the insurance thrifty offered at the counter, so now i have to make sure I don't get charged for two separate insurance policies. My vehicle reservation didnt mean anything. There wasnt a single full sized sedan left on the lot, so I was stuck driving a full sized SUV which got very poor gas mileage. The SUV was kind of dirty with old candy in the center console. The shuttle also takes about 15+ minutes to get you to the counter/airport so keep that in mind when considering departure or arrival.

Pros: Absolutely nothing. When we originally tried to book a car, we werent given the car we requested. My wife waited on the phone for 20 minutes before talking to a person who didnt offer a solution, a cancelation, or an upgrade, which we would have been happy to pay for. We decided to let it go and deal with it when we got to denver. Once there, we waited in line for 3 hours for our rental and was then refused a refund when i went to another car rental counter even though there is supposed to be a free cancelation. That's right. I waited in line for 3 hours and was refused a refund because i wouldn't wait longer! 150 people in line and 1 person working the counter. So, i paid for a car that i never received. This is easily the worst experience I've had with any company I've had in my life. No one should book with dollar through kayak. Ever. For any reason. Ever.Cons: Every aspect of this experience could have been better. Getting hit in the face daily with a hammer for an entire year would be better than having to interact in any capacity with dollar rent a car. This is the very first bad review I've ever written, but my experience was so very bad i hope it'll help someone else avoid the same horrible situation.

Pros: They upgraded me to a larger size vehicle.Cons: I pre-paid for this rental and was supposed to pick it up at 9:00am on a Thursday morning. Hertz local office called the morning of the pickup to tell me they had no cars and no idea when they would have any cars. I asked them to put me on a waiting list. They didn't call me so I called them twice. The second time they told me they had a car for me -- larger SUV (ordered intermediate sedan). I picked up around 4:30pm. They did not offer a refund for the lost rental time only told me I could drop it off at the same time on day of drop off. I told them I didn't need the car that long and asked for a discount. They gave me $30. off. The car was mostly clean and good. They didn't want to go over the nicks and scratches and dings and dents as per usual which I thought was strange. Overall it turned out okay but it was a little rough at the beginning.

This was not unknown to Hertz, someone had written this on the key tag but still rented the vehicle without addressing these issues. They offered to swap vehicles but I had to drive 40 miles to a different location and even then, they did not have the same vehicle type available. I ended up with something very different than I originally rented which did not suite my needs... but I had no choice as a at least needed a vehicle to drive home.

Pros: The car was nice but how it was upgraded and the charges made it not worth the price.Cons: When we signed up online to make the for the rental for 3 days at no more than $180. Well when we come in she is told that she must sign up for charges that were not needed. Extra insurance, road toll for $35 (when we told we were only going to be in Greenly everyday and didn’t need to leave the city for tolls, and told that basic tolls are $15//20.) as well as additional fees which brought up the price from that $180 to $700(including $200 deposit) . If we could have gone anywhere else we would have but we had no other options.

In addition, the people at the check in counter aggressively upsold, convincing me that I should pre-pay for a full tank of gas when that was not the best thing for me. So happyPros: We rented this car because our flight was canceled and we couldn't wait for the airline's next flight out (it was Saturday, next flight was Tuesday) - the airline treated us like dirt, so by the time we resigned to driving home and went to get the car we were very crabby and impatient. I booked online first and couldn't reserve a time earlier than 5pm but we got to the rental shop at around 4pm. Was pleasantly surprised when the counter guy said we could take the car right away, and even more pleased when we were offered a free upgrade from compact to SUV! Counter guy was great and got us on the road quickly, car was clean and comfortable with no issues during the trip, and there were no surprises the next day when we returned the car and paid.Cons: No comments!

I occasionally go to the US and I need to rent a car. in the past I rented through kayak and europcar without a problem. however this time when I arrived I gave the representative my drivers license - which is a US drivers license - and they told me I could not rent the car. instead I would need to rent a new one for 3 times the price. they said an international rental could not be done in the USA with a USA license. However NOWHERE WAS I EVER INFORMED OF THIS. NOWHERE IS THIS RESTRICTION LISTED IN THE AGREEMENT THAT I SIGNED WITH EUROPCAR. I was forced to spend $150 on Uber for two days, and i went to AAA with Uber and for $20 i changed my license to an international license, and went all the way back to the airport to rent my same car - having wasted two days of the rental.
