Thos company is a bait and switch company. Very displeased. I rented a mid sized suv and paid in full when reserved. When I showed up they said I only paid for a compact suv. No, it was very clear what I rented. I had to pay more than double again to get what I wanted when I picked it up. I paid over 300 dollars when I reserved my car, when I picked it up it was almost another 500 dollars extra. I will never rent from this company again. I will never recommend this company. I will talk bad about this company to anyone looking torrent from fox rentals. Do not use them for anything. You've Been warned.

First, they said that the reservation I made had been cancelled due that I needed to pick up the car at noon. Even do I showed them the reservation where it showed clearly that I had to pick it up at 630pm. Second, because of what I explained earlier the person at the counter gave me a much higher rate than the one I reserved online. When I complained they told me they had no more cars at the rate I had reserved initially. It seems this company is not what you expect and for some reason, they want to charge a different rate than what the client gets online. The person at the counter next to me had the same issue and was upset. Therefore, I would NOT recommend renting from this company.

I was charged a lot more than quoted. The office wasn't wheelchair accessible so I had to get out of the chair which was very painful. The agent was so unfriendly and unhelpful and did the opposite of help us. I wouldn't book with Fox again unless I get a partial refund - which I have requested.

Pros:

Car was fine, pick-up and drop were fine. My issue would be with the signage on the buses (on EVERY window of the bus) letting passengers know you are limiting the number of people onboard and requiring all to wear masks to protect us. And then the driver just keeps on letting people board - every seat was taken, people were standing and maskless.

I did not get the car I had reserved. I reserved and paid for a standard SUV but instead was given a compact SUV. On top of that I was told at the counter that I was getting an upgrade. Definitely felt that this was very underhanded.

Picking up the car took almost two hours, between child away install mishaps (wrong equipment for proper install at first) and upselling attempts, including saying Kayak’s insurance was “worthless” and needed to be in addition to coverage offered by Sixt. It felt like a used car lot.

Stood in line for 30 minutes inside to check in for rental. After the check in, we were given a sticky note with numbers and told to stand outside by the white tent. Once there, we stood outside for almost a hour to pick up a random car that was given to us despite what was requested for the class we chose. The girl “issuing cars” was far from helpful and seemed annoyed if you had questions. Once in the car, the last renters trash was still in the doors, but overall a clean car with only 1100 miles. Drop off was easy and quick.

Waited for a disturbingly long time for the shuttle from the airport. Other rental agencies’ shuttles came through 5 or 6 times before the one Hertz shuttle came. Then waited again in line at the agency, watched as two rental agents just wandered around and talked to other agents even though there was a long line of customers. I didn’t get the car I reserved, instead I was told “you can pick whichever one you want from Section 1”. Well, there was slim pickins for sure and everyone else who had just been in line was trying to get the same cars. It was like kids on the playground running to be the first to get the dodgeballs. Even though I could have picked “anything” the brand of car I actually reserved wasn’t there at all, not one, and I upgraded on the reservation website just to get that car. Also, the agent kept trying to get me to upgrade to a camaro, even though it was clear I was driving through the night to get to my destination and then drop off the car. Why would I want to drive a camaro over mountain passes at night in the winter? Come on, Hertz. You can do better.

1. The Hertz bus never picked me up. I waited for over 30 minutes with a growing crowd. The bus came but only let five or six people on, leaving me and at least 50 others at the curb. Eventually I took Uber to the Hertz rental near the airport. The other ten people in line had all taken Uber or caught rides on shuttles from other car rental companies. 2. My car key was difficult to remove from the ignition. Every time I parked, I would have to rotate my steering wheel left and right to get my key out.

Reservation system not responsive to changes we made to length of the rental period after the initial reservation was made and before travel began. Had to wait for a manager to adjust the records when we returned the car. Manager very competent and pleasant, but it took extra time to adjust the record just because the online reservation system not working and the "customer service" telephone system also not working

having the car clean no with mud and dust and papers and stuff inside plus with wash fluid because at the middle of my trip from Denver to Vail I got the low wash fluid sign the first time I used it so obviously before getting to Vail I ran out of wash fluid in the middle of a snow storm which made the beginning of my trip very dangerous because of a lack of supervision from your company which delivered a car which has recently dropped at your facilities, very bad honestly.

The Pick up experience took over an hour from the shuttle dropping me off at the rental facility, to being taken to the car. it appeared as if there was no plan to help the volume of customers arriving in the late Friday evening, even though this is ski season and they knew full well the number of renters who would arrive. In addition, the people at the check in counter aggressively upsold, convincing me that I should pre-pay for a full tank of gas when that was not the best thing for me. They also tried to up sell me on vehicles. I will not be using EZ car ever again

I was upsold a 4wd bc the worker told me I would get turned around in Colorado for having 2wd, and was misinformed of the price too (there was no checkpoint, didn’t need it, paid more than what I was told) 2. The car pick up took way too long, apparently it was everyone’s first day so in training (literally, they told me) 3. I was OVERcharged and not given back a refund/credit 4. The shuttle driver wasn’t very friendly either 5. Needs a big change in management to salvage company reputation and operational efficiency

Nothing but good things to say about my car rental experience with Payless. Everyone there was very nice, friendly, and helpful. When our original car had accidentally been double booked, they had a new upgraded car ready right away. And the shuttles to and from the airport were super convenient.

Pros:

The car was great. It was clean and a comfortable ride. No issues. Return was easy too

Cons:

They use the Avis shuttle but do not tell you that. I wanted 45 minutes for the shuttle until driver told me that they were also picking up Payless customers. Picking up the car was awful. They tried to charge me for an upgrade after saying they didn't have any cars in the class I reserved. Then the car they assigned me to was already occupied by another customer that was also assigned the same car. It took a long time to actually get the car I reserved. I felt like I was being scammed. A different employee helped me after I was assigned an occupied car. He was great. He gave me the car I had reserved and did it quickly. No problems after that. Also, I could not reach customer service by phone to ask about shuttle. Calls would not go through or were not answered

Pros:

Pickup was easy and quick, that's where the positives ended.

Cons:

The car was obviously not cleaned, there were crumbs in the steering wheel and change in the center console, the windshield was impossible to see though at night because it was so dirty (like it had been sprayed to be cleaned and never wiped off), the rearview mirror was broken and jiggled while the car was in motion. When it came time for drop-off, the address on the contract printout was incorrect so the GPS would have taken us the wrong way had we not realized it was obviously the wrong way.

Ace will trick you into and nick and dime you into a much more expensive bill. The cashier was purposely distracting me during the check out process and didn’t explain all the charges. He simply told me I needed to initial some boxes. The screen on which I had to read all this “fine print” was less than inch wide and wouldn’t scroll properly. When all was said and done, my simple 4 day car rental ended up costing $600. When I tried to get my money back I was told there was nothing they could do. Don’t use this company. It’s a scam.

The staff was surly and rude. Their only concern was to upsell as many people on insurance and a prepaid tank of gas as possible. There was one person ahead of me in line and it took me 78 minutes to get out of there. They didn’t have the car that I prepaid for. Tried to insist they i needed to pay more because they didn’t have the car. Eventually gave me a car that had a flat tire (which I needed to fix 4 miles after leaving the place) and no heat (in the Colorado Rockies)

Shuttle drive from airport to Ace was kind Agent at pick up was unprofessional, engaged in inappropriate conversation with colleague, and attempted to force me to give a 5 star Google review in exchange for a “better car” Sent me into parking lot with the key to find the car - did not provide make model color to assist in locating car on my own Front right tire had low pressure, noticed after I left the lot Returned car and attendant repeatedly persuaded me to leave to go fill the tank (was more than 3/4 full) even after I told her that my timeline to airport was tight Initial price posted was $19day (compared to $75 at other locations) but I ended up paying $80 a day anyway and for terrible service!

Terrible ----- Here is why: Get to the counter and they would not rent to my son because he has a Colorado drivers license. We flew in to Denver, rented a moving truck ( from Budget ) and driving back to Pensacola, Florida. They had to have my ( Florida ) license, an extra 92 dollars and a copy of my insurance card before they would rent to us. NO WHERE DID IT SAY, NO LOCAL DRIVERS LICENSE WOULD BE ACCEPTED BEFORE PAYMENT WAS MADE. AFTER WE GOT THE AGREEMENT WHERE IT STATED THIS, PRICELINE WOULD NOT CANCEL OUR CONTRACT FOR ANY REASON. You should offer a refund or some kind of credit for this. Honesty goes a long way. Butch Vaillancourt

We were NEVER told there would be a $20/day charge for taking the car out of state and when I asked if I could add my wife as an additional driver, I was NEVER told there would be a $30 charge to do that. The $18 per day charge for 3 days cost almost $180! Would have gone with a name brand, reputable company if I would've known this is what would've happened. Bad customer service and horrible overall experience.

Terrible customer representatives at counter. Two didn’t know how to use the reservation confirmation number from a third party booking service. When their manager showed them, he pulled another woman who had a similar issue in front of me. I obliged patiently. But, when the next counter agent was free, she wouldn’t serve me as I was next in line as she said “he was taking care of me.” He was busy with the woman who I let step in front of me while he figured out how to complete a transaction from a third party. This happened two times befween tbe same two counter agents and it was absolutely ridiculous. If it weren’t Christmas I would have lost my temper. As it played out, my SUV didn’t have four wheel drive - a necessity for traveling into the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains in December. Further, they charged me for fuel when it was returned full. And I was also overcharged by $16 for fees and taxes that differed from my Rental Agreement issued at the counter. I’ll never book with Thrifty again. The small savings I may have incurred at booking were more than consumed by the excessive time I wasted waiting for cobbler service and subsequent communications about being overcharged. And to cap it all off, the Jeep Patriot had an annoying rattle in the rear of the car which was not fixable for my entire four day rental.

Pros:

I guess with no one wanting to work, this is the new normal. There must have been a hundred people when we walked in the office. 2 people working. We waited an hour and heard rumblings that they were out of cars. 4 hours later we were pulling out of AVR with a car, which had stayed open late and another employee that had already clocked out came to the airport and picked us up. YAY AVR!!!

Pros:

I didn't rent a car from Dollar. Their line was more than two hours long. After that, there would have been an hour wait for a car to be cleaned to become available. I rented a car from National next door to Dollar. It took less than five minutes to get in a car and drive away.

Cons:

Dollar was understaffed and overbooked. They completely wasted my time.

Pros:

Absolutely nothing. When we originally tried to book a car, we werent given the car we requested. My wife waited on the phone for 20 minutes before talking to a person who didnt offer a solution, a cancelation, or an upgrade, which we would have been happy to pay for. We decided to let it go and deal with it when we got to denver. Once there, we waited in line for 3 hours for our rental and was then refused a refund when i went to another car rental counter even though there is supposed to be a free cancelation. That's right. I waited in line for 3 hours and was refused a refund because i wouldn't wait longer! 150 people in line and 1 person working the counter. So, i paid for a car that i never received. This is easily the worst experience I've had with any company I've had in my life. No one should book with dollar through kayak. Ever. For any reason. Ever.

Cons:

Every aspect of this experience could have been better. Getting hit in the face daily with a hammer for an entire year would be better than having to interact in any capacity with dollar rent a car. This is the very first bad review I've ever written, but my experience was so very bad i hope it'll help someone else avoid the same horrible situation.

Cons:

The signage and pickup/dropoff communications were not clear until we arrived. The location had changed, and signage was almost entirely absent at the lot.

Pros:

The Silvercar rental people were amazing. They explained all the features of the Audi I rented. They were super helpful when I had to switch the car for the Audi SUV due to more people arriving for Christmas. I would highly recommend using Silvercar to rent an Audi in Denver. Super fun car and SUV to drive!

Cons:

The only issue I had was navigating the web site, but I believe that was both an issue using a third party rental and my lack of knowledge. Once I got ahold of a Silvercar representative the issue was resolved quickly.

Quick pickup, easy return, and friendly staff. I was about 15 minutes early and my vehicle was not ready so I was offered an upgrade for $150 or I could wait. I took the upgrade and within 10 minutes of driving it it overheated. Upon bringing it back I was told that had happened twice earlier in the week and the vehicle should not have been rented. I was given another vehicle just like it, but offered nothing for my wasted hour. I feel like at a minimum they should have dropped the upgrade fee.

I hated every moment dealing with National. Upon arrival, the employees at the counter didn’t bother asking us for our reservation information they just turned us and the other clients away. Not only did they sell our reservation, which we had done with more than two months in advance, but they offered no type of solution or assistance to the problem THEY CREATED. Their cavalier responses were “try booking with another company” or “Uber to your destination”. No one in the counter really made an effort to deal with myself or the other clients who were also left screwed over by their poor management and decision making skills. Each and every single one of the employees just dumped the issue to the next until finally they pulled a lame excuse out of their asses as to why they wouldn’t even try to help us. They wanted to hold on to the fact that “it was late at night and they couldn’t do much.” I did take their advice and took my business elsewhere, and the lady at Avis went above and beyond to help me and my group of 17+ get a car to get to our destination. She did not care that it was past 3am and her shift had ended. She did everything she possibly could as a simple customer service associate to help me and my family. Something that EVERY SINGLE ONE of the National employees claimed they could not do because “it wasn’t in their power” I wouldn’t make a reservation with National or it’s affiliates even if my life depended on it. Definitely will tell every single person I know that National is by far the worst company to rent with and the customer service offered at the Denver International Airport location is so poor, that Satan himself would feel offended.

When I got there it turned out that the car had limited miles.(75). When in the add said unlimited and was not able to drive out of state. Which was not clear on the website.I was not able to cancel and just like that I lost 600. I had to go find a last minute car which ended up paying more. Will not book a car ever again

They don’t even appear to exist. They didn’t answer their phone, and there was no car there or people at the agency. The phone number went directly to voicemail, but the mailbox was full. We couldn’t even find the agency. We didn’t get the car.

I never received the product. When I called the Rental Phone line, nobody would answer or return messages. A miserable experience with York Car Rental. I ultimately went to Avis.
