Pros (+) Beautiful lobby. Distant views of water from our second story room. Attached fine restaurant and cafe open in early morning for coffee, etc. Friendly staff Thorough daily cleaning staff
Cons (-) Room was VERY warm, even with the radiator off. The windows had to be completely open throughout our stay, day and night, for comfort. Walls and floors are thin, as often true in older hotels -- you will hear some walking and talking from above and next door.

Pros (+) Close to every restaurant you'd ever want and walking distance to the beach. Staff were incredibly kind and accommodating.
Cons (-) Low ceilings meant that I kept hitting my head and hands on the ceiling fan. The view was not great and there was some kind of industrial restaurant motor running all night. Plus, the room was incredibly hot, even when it was nice and cool outside.

Pros (+) Friendly staff, best location in downtown Carmel, comfortable beds.
Cons (-) Tiny rooms, extremely out dated bathrooms, difficult to get a parking spot in the Pine Inn parking lot, faded red carpeting on stairs upon entry.
